Kyla has three simple desires:

1.To make the perfect deviled egg.
2.To survive her new boss (who happens to be her boyfriend's aunt.)
3.To be granted three wishes by a genie.

As it stands right now, her third desire might be the only one in reach...that is until Luke's genie lamp disappears.

And Luke is a free agent. If whoever has the lamp gives it a simple rub, all Luke's freedom will disappear in one big poof.

And with his freedom goes Kyla's first real relationship in years...and any plans either of them had for the future...and the first home Kyla's had since her parents passed away.

But Kyla is a capable witch. She's solved murders. Certainly she can follow a few clues and discover who took her boyfriend's genie lamp. How hard can that be?

Joynell Schultz spends her days working in a “reliable profession” as a veterinary pharmacist, which pays the bills, but isn’t nearly as exciting as creating alternative worlds writing speculative fiction. While shivering through the long northern Wisconsin winters with her husband, two children, and numerous pets, she enjoys reading, writing, and planning her next vacation.

I love Joynell Schultz’s books!! Each one I read makes me feel good inside. I know I am going to get a wonderful story that will help me navigate all the pot holes and pitfalls of this year!! It’s been something else and I crave a book that will boost my fading spirits and help me face the continual negativity of the press and it’s minions (rioters, looters, arsonists, murderers, and its ilk)!

I would encourage all who see this review to seriously consider reading Joy’s books! For fantasy her books are top notch! If you want an exciting book well she has several series that will keep you turning the pages. It seems those causing all the destruction in cities run by Democrats will escape justice because the democrats refuse to prosecute them. That only encourages more violent behavior on their parts because they are arrested and released immediately to go back out and commit more destruction. However, in Joy’s books most all of the bad “guys” get their just “desserts”! So those who would like the guilty punished will also enjoy her books for that reason as well.

I wonder what wishes I’d make if I had a genie who could grant me the same. Probably to turn back 2020 and have China be upfront about the pandemic in their country and that people traveling there would be at risk BEFORE it became a world-wide pandemic! Honesty in politics would be another I would like to see from politicians and the media; and perhaps as the Beatles put it “ All you need is Love”! If everyone did that just that think of the change overnight it would cause. Unfortunately that’s not the case so we have what we have now.

Joy’s books do bring JOY to the readers! Pick up this series or another one that catches your fancy and tune out the world for a while and get lost in a world away from reality because isn’t that why we read books in the first place to be entertained and to tune out reality for a while so we can recharge our batteries so we can cope with reality again in a little while?

Will Kyla and Luke get their happy ever after?

Kyla and Luke haven't had an easy time in the first two books of the series and it doesn't look like their lives are going to get any easier in this final book of the trilogy. I enjoyed the previous books and hoped for a good old mystery to finish the series. This book was quite dark as cosy mysteries go, but all Joy's books pull off the same trick. On the surface, they seem sweet and, well, cosy but under the surface nothing is at it seems and there is far more going on with all the characters than first meets the eye. If you have read any other series by Joy, you will have an idea of what I mean. The themes of this book are dark and deep, and Kyla's life takes a very unexpected turn, as does Luke's.
I was very impressed, as usual, with how Joy manages to pull you in and then confound your expectations at every turn. Luke and Kyla have to face some extreme situations, helped by Alec (who has grown on me as the series has progressed), and danger is never far from them, it seems.
I love Kyla and Luke and am very happy with the ending of the series. Joy's books are always food for thought while being heartwarming at the same time. I don't know how she does it but I'm very glad that she shares her talent with us.

Luke has been hiding his genie lamp so that nobody can rub it and become his master/mistress. He still needs to sleep in it but can spend his day outside - but within 50 miles of the lamp. Now the lamp has disappeared ... and then Luke disappears.

Kyla wants to find Luke and his lamp so that they can be together (forever?)

Can she trust genie Alec to help her find Luke? And what about his "aunt" Aubrey? Is she going to stay at the B&B and resume management - leaving Kyla with no job.

I wasn't expecting the way the book finished. It was a sidestep that took me by surprise. Nice solution.

I listened to the audio & the rating would have been higher except the audio was AI. I think the story & characters were probably well developed & interesting but with word mispronunciations, run on sentences, missing inflections or inflections in incorrect places, lack of clarity on who was speaking unless specified & general coldness of the reading the books were not done justice. This is the 2nd series for me to give AI a chance, but both times AI has ruined good stories. I won't be listening to AI again.

Aubrey reappears, and everyone is wondering if she's staying, and if so, will they lose their jobs? But right after she arrives, Luke's lamp goes missing and someone poisons the gnomes. Is it related, or different issues? And then Luke goes missing....

SPOILER: Everything seems to be over when Luke gets summoned - whoever had stolen his lamp rubbed it, and now Luke is an enslaved genie once again.

Lots of well done angst. The characters are so well drawn they just suck you into the story and their emotions. You'll love this series.

Magical characters fill the pages of this story. Witches, genies, even gnomes...who knew! When Luke’s genie lamp goes missing, Kyla is determined to recover it before anyone can rub it and bind Luke to them. With a several suspects, Kayla enlists help from her friends. Now the question is will they be able to save Luke or will they be too late. This is such an enjoyable series, I hope that there will be more adventures at Moonstruck Manor.

I enjoyed these characters. Kyla did a lot of growing in this arc. She is still a bit klutzy and a disaster in the kitchen, but she has discovered who and what she is and what she is willing to do for family. Her family has grown a bit too, and some of its members are a new surprise. The best part was the proposal at the end. It was about time, Luke!

I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Fun romp

Not sure, but it seems like this should be the second book in a series, and maybe it is. Lots of references to things that happened earlier. Even so, it's a good, enjoyable read on its own.

A perfect ending!

After being on pins and needles for most of the book, the ending made it all worthwhile. I loved it and all the characters. I’m keeping my finger’s crossed that there may be more stories with these wonderful characters in the future.

Great ending to the series. Wrapped up all of the outstanding issues. I felt that there were some inconsistencies with the previous stories but I still enjoyed the book.

Fantastic

Great second story of Kyle and Luke and all they went through. Had me trying to guess who the culprit was and I must admit that I couldn't figure it out.

A genie without a lamp…

In this engaging and completely delightful third book in the Paranormal Bed & Breakfast series, someone has stolen Luke’s lamp. As always, there are plenty of interesting and diverse suspects as Moonstruck Manor is a favored B&B for the paranormal community of Black Hallows. With so many different folks coming and going, will Kyla and Luke be able to identify the thief and locate the missing lamp before a new master exerts control over Luke and takes him away from Kyla forever? This story is a tightly crafted mystery with plenty of tension and a host of wonderful and enchanting characters that will keep the reader entertained and enthralled from the first page to the last. While this book may be the conclusion to Kyla and Luke’s story, I do hope the author will continue to offer more adventures for the beloved denizens of Moonstruck Manor and Black Hallows as this series has been so original and utterly enjoyable. I highly recommend it to any fan of clean paranormal cozy mysteries.

I was provided with an advance copy of this book by the author and I am voluntarily offering my honest and unbiased review.
