Welcome to Spellbound, where paranormal is the new normal.

Life is good for Emma Hart. She’s married to the love of her life, raising an amazing daughter, surrounded by close friends, and working at a job that makes a difference. When some of her more cantankerous friends start exhibiting signs of sweetness and light against their normal natures, it seems that Emma’s influence has finally taken hold—except their behavior seems off in a way that Emma can’t quite identify.

In the meantime, Spellbound receives a visit from Ember Rose, Starry Hollow’s intrepid reporter who’s in town with her daughter and raccoon familiar seeking information from an unlikely source about her ancestor, the One True Witch. Emma offers to help in any way she can, despite the growing tide of unease in connection with certain residents’ excessive virtue.

Will Emma get to the bottom of the change before the whole town becomes a zombie horde of Stepford paranormals or will her voice of reason be drowned out by a tsunami of sweetness?

What? No murder?

Look, these have all been like guilty pleasure reads. They're not the best, but they're quirky, fun, and easy. So I let a lot of things slide. I don't care so much about the lack of character development or convenient plotlines. However, the whole Calix thing irks me. Emma is miss give everyone a second chance, redemption for all. She loves all the misfits. She is also always crying about having lost all her blood relatives. Yet here one is, ready to be a part of her life, and she can't get over what he may or may not have done for reasons unknown way before she was even born?! It's very off brand and makes me think she just wants to keep playing the orphan card.

I think i prefer Ember from Emma's point of view, Ember is less whinny and more reliable, also I would be happier to see Emma try to be a people pleaser less when she's uncomfortable about something rather than go along with it or run away from the issue. Basically, the magic, world, and plot are all good, but I'm still waiting on further character growth and at book 8 i'm wondering if I will ever see it.

Always an entertaining supernatural cozy mystery Series

Always an entertaining supernatural cozy mystery series. An outstanding cast of characters and a fun and entertaining storyline. Emma a sorceress in a small supernatural town that until a short time ago was cursed and contained inside a pocket spaced it supernaturals could enter but not leave. Emma who did not even know she was a sorceress before entering learns to use her powers falls in love has a baby and is the town‘s defense attorney at the time her and her husband to be Daniel who happens to be an angel broke the curse and made it where the town was once again in sync with the rest of the world. Supernaturals could come and go as they please and the town crew and is now a tourist town. Follow along as Emma sauce crimes as a defense attorney as well as investigates other murder mysteries and make him going on in the town. This particular story is a crossover event with Amber and her cousin from starry hollow another serious by the same author in the same world. Always entertaining and well worth reading. Check it out

Gareth is upset that Diana is not showing her powers quicly enough, overlooking the fact that she is at the time just a baby.

The leader of the coven feels that there is a need for an Ethics of Magic course which will mean no further pranks.

There's a nasty nymph that runs a flower business but hates the flower show that is going on in the town. A real up-point is that there is a crossover with Ember and Raol visiting the town.

There's a new client accused of punching his boss in the face and this would be his third offense.

A good up-point is that Josie no longer working for Emma.

There is something odd about the behavior of her therapist and other people. Diana is able to turn her toys into toads, keeping at least the same letters of the alphabet.

Which brings up an interesting question. Are the toads actually living, real toads? If they are, this would mean that Diana can create living animals which I think would be a very unusual thing fo any witch or sorceress.

Things are moving forward quite well for the series.

Light and Fun Read!

This series is a continuation of the “Spellbound” series. It could be read as a standalone series, although I would not recommend it. Many of the characters of the former series are featured here and I believe the reader would find it confusing to relate to the story and its characters without having read the Spellbound series beforehand. The FMC Emma is a remarkable character. She is determined, smart, strong, funny and sarcastic. Emma is a “new” sorceress, having been brought up as a human and only recently finding out she is something else. This series takes place much after her discovery and development as a sorceress and after getting settled in her new home on the paranormal world. Emma works as a defense lawyer, although her true calling is solving the mysteries behind the crimes that are happening in her town. There is mystery, magic, action and plenty of surprises. If you are looking for a fun, light and interesting series, then you will definitely enjoy reading this one. Recommended 🩷🩷🩷

Halo Effect

I've enjoyed reading this fabulous and some parts comical cozey mystery it's so well written and compiled with such an array of colorful and bold characters that draw you into their dramatic lives and then there's the mystery that will entice you further along with a plot that magically captivates your full attention weaving every thing together having you turning page after page unable to put it down until you have reached the unexpected and exciting conclusion. Acquire " Halo Effect" today so that you yourself can enjoy it as much as I have and if you haven't read the earlier mysterys to this series I highly recommend it. Kat

Halo Effect is Book 8 in the Spellbound Ever After Series.
I LOVE this series. All the characters are fantastic and I love how there are so many different paranormal.

Emma gets a visit from Ember and her raccoon familiar Raoul from Starry Hallow.

This book was such a great crossover with characters from my two favorite series.

I couldn't put this book down and there are some really wonderful laugh out loud moments.

Cannot wait for more from this epic series!

Another fun read in Spellbound. Instead of having to investigate a murder, this time around Emma is trying to figure out why some of the crustiest members of Spellbound are suddenly being so good. From her crazy Harpy neighbors to her crass psychiatrist, powerful women are suddenly behaving completely out of character. In the meantime, Daniel has put together a huge flower festival and Emma has a case to defend.

My favorite series by Annabel Chase

This series has everything that makes a great cozy paranormal book; creative characters, well-thought-out mystery, and just enough humor. This book even has underlying life lesson. Spellbound is my go-to magical town I would visit if that was possible.

A story that never gets old

I love this series and always look forward to the new book when it comes out. Emma always seems to find herself involved in multiple mysteries and helping others. She also defends the townspeople in need and I find those side stories just as entertaining.

Flower trouble

What does a flower festival and an endangered species that farts rainbows have in common. Why Emma Hart for starters. Time to figure out why the Harpies and others are acting strange. Can Emma figure out how they are spelled and who is behind it and why. Great story.

Emma, Baby, Court, Spells

I don’t want to give away anything because it’s a lot more fun to figure out the mystery without hints. Annabel Chase is of my favorite authors. I like the way Emma’s character has developed throughout the series. And we get a visit from Ember Rose (cross series moments) as well.

I have enjoyed reading the Spellbound Ever After books. I read the first few and then started reading other books. I went back to find out more books had been written. I'm waiting for the last book to come out later this year. I have enjoyed that other characters from different series show up.. Love they interact with each other.

Delightful Crossover

Ember Rose and Florian visit Emma for a delightful crossover story. Emma struggles to defend an ogre while attempting to understand and eliminate a spell that has created major and disturbing personality reversals in several town characters.

Interesting

Was fun to see some different personalities on some of our regular characters. The Tangi was an interesting critter. The small cross over turned out well (I haven't read but one Starry Hollow and this blended smoothly) though I do need to do so. Fun recommended read.

Like farting rainbows

Will anything ever go smoothly in Spellbound? A flower power festival is held, fragrant and pretty. It is time to make a will, now that Daniel and Emma have a baby. Emma starts to notice personality changes in ask me if the women in town. Read and enjoy!

Loved it!

I enjoy crossovers and this one was great. Starry Hollow and Spellbound characters together make for a fun time. Throw in some not themselves paranormals and it's a party.

No murder!

It was so nice to see Emma solve two mysteries and neither one a murder! Add in visitors from Starry Hollow and this could be my favorite Spellbound book ever! Brittany tour was fun too. I also enjoyed the theme of whether it's possible to be too good.

Magical Kindness, is that a good thing?

Great story, and an interesting mystery to solve. I was guessing who the culprit could be the whole time. It was nice that there was no murder to solve, really enjoyed this read.
Loved that Emma had a visitor, Ember Rose!!! That was fun!!
