Years of peace are shattered with a devastating strike against the very heart of Tah’Nar, and war threatens once more.
Prince Hamza Shou: Young to King Duran and King Consort Jolak. Grief stricken. Angry. Vengeful. Screams of the dying stalk his waking moments. Death surrounds him even as he plots. He’s losing himself to the darkness and growing colder to those around him, including Neo. Brought together by some universal force and bound by love even before they were born, heartache tests the ties that bind them.
Dr. Neo Kere: Young to Doc and John. Sorrowful. Worried. Overwhelmed. He’s seen males draw their final breath. What doctor hasn’t? However, his experiences didn’t prepare him for wholesale murder. The last gasps of the dying stalk him too. But he took an oath to preserve life, and he doesn’t want the death of innocents on his conscience. And now his oath is being tested by the very male he loves—his mate, Hamza.
Or will the same mistake be made again?
Extinction once hunted the Tah’Narians. Now they threaten the Ne Reyn with the same fate. Can Neo change the destructive path Hamza treads before the darkness swallows him? Or is it too late?
M.A. Church is a true Southern belle who spent many years in the elementary education sector. Now she spends her days lost in fantasy worlds, arguing with hardheaded aliens on far-off planets, herding her numerous shifters, or trying to tempt her country boys away from their fishing poles. It’s a full time job, but hey, someone’s gotta do it!
When not writing, she’s on the back porch tending to the demanding wildlife around the pond in the backyard. The ducks are very outspoken. She’s married to her high school sweetheart, and they have two grown children.

The book starts right where the previous left off - war with Ne Reyns. Prince Hamza and Neo have been mated for 10 years, so this is a story about an established couple that goes through loss, acceptance and hope. I liked the dynamics between both men - they were equals in all areas of life. The author did a THING. It was a TERRIBLE THING, but it had to happen so that Hamza's character could develop into its full potential. Neo was a supportive mate who wasn't afraid to speak his mind and tell Hamza when he was in the wrong. The story had a steady pace and showcased Neo and Hamza's relationship, their interactions with friends and family and the full extent of Tah'Narian traditions and rituals. I enjoyed it.
One thing that was a bit of disappointment to me was how anticlimactic the resolution of Ne Reyn conflict was. I wished for more action and a$$ kicking. The author wasn't subtle about whose story would be next, and who would be Laken's mate. I am looking forward to what the author comes up with for the two men. It should be very interesting. Steam level - medium, suspense level - medium, angst level - high.
Ahogy azt az előző kötet már előre vetítette, Tah'Nar háborúba keveredik és bizony mindenki kiveszi a részét belőle. Hamza a trónörökös, idő előtt válik királlyá és ez bizony nem tesz jót neki. Különösen a benne fortyogó bosszúvágy.
This book focuses on Hamza and Neo– their relationship is well established, and I liked their dynamic, which showcased both their strengths and vulnerabilities. Their clear rightness for each other doesn’t mean that they aren’t in for an emotional rollercoaster, however: the backdrop is fraught (war) and horrible things happen: I’m being deliberately vague here because spoilers are the worst, but fair warning that some moments are heartbreaking in their intensity. It helps, a lot, to read previous books in the series before this one, so if you haven’t already done so, I strongly recommend that you start at the beginning! 4.5 stars.
*I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I've been a fan of this series from the very very beginning (IE the Original Harvest series) and I have to say, I am still blown away by the story that Church is able to weave with everything going on.
Not only does the story keep you drawn into it, you never want to leave the world. I just couldn't get enough of it!
I was upset with the ending of the book, simply because I didn't want it to end! I can't wait to see what Church comes up with next in the series.
I will add this though - I would NOT recommend this as a standalone. I would say that if you are wanting to start reading it, to read at least the rest of the Next Generation series before starting this to fully grasp the story that is unfolding.
I have just sped read through all of these books. The harvest and now what there is of harvest young. I can honestly say I am thoughly in love with this world. I should have posted reviews for all of them but I couldn't I had to do know what happened and now still do. This was supposed to be released in 2018 I read in book 2 Raiden and dayo book but says published in 2020 for hazam and neo. I hope 2021 brings dear laken and torin. I really can't describe how on edge I was though this. Poor Duran I loved him too. Hazam and neo are simply wonderful. And great for the king and consort. I hope jolak will be ok and get grandbabies in the future. I am happy the ne ray (sp?) Has turned for the better.
An attack on the Tah'Narians brings the years of peace to a crushing end and now decisions must be made about a response. This is the darkest book in this series so far and it is painful to see all the death and destruction. The focus is on Prince Hamza who must decide how to respond to the attack. He has lost so much and all he wants is revenge. His mate, Neo understands that desire, but as both a doctor and one who does not want to see his mate commit genocide, he must try to bring Hamza back from the dark desires he wants to give way to. This is one of the best entries in this series with great world building and characters who face not just personally life-changing decisions, but those that will impact entire societies.
I held off reading this due to the dark themes….but it pays off
(My policy is 5 stars. You wrote, I read it, so you get 5 stars. Cause I want you to keep writing. Love the series and I lived the prior series but I sort of stopped at this book because the description bummed me out. I wanted my characters to find their mate/one true love and all the references to grief and darkness led me to believe I could not handle the high angst. I should not have doubted M.A. Church. Her MC’s always find their way out and through. I wish this series and the original harvest series were available on audible. I would love to hear Joel Leslie, Greg Boudreaux, or Micheal Lesley narrating these series
This title is part of an MM scifi Romance series. It's not a standalone.
I loved getting to read another new story in this classic series. It was gripping, touching and tragic too. We get to read about the crownprince Hamza and his mate Neo again and follow their difficult journey in the wake of a horrible tragedy. It's really hard for Hamza especially and Neo has the challenge of being able to support him enough. There's angst but there's love, understanding and support too. I couldn't not cry. It's well written and a good addition to the series. REC
I wasn't prepared for this story. I've read every other book since the very first in the Harvest series. So I didn't read the synopsis before buying this one. I wasn't prepared for the tragedy that befell the characters. There were so many times I found myself nearly crying why reading this. It was a very intense story but so worth the read, and the tears. I'm a bit sad to think that the next one might be the last one. It has been an amazing journey with the Tah'Narians, Onfre and human harvests.
Rating: 4 stars I am so glad that I went back and re-read the series as a whole before starting this book. It gave parts of this story a greater emotional impact that I don’t think I would have had reading it as a stand-alone. Some parts literally brought me to tears. I loved both Neo and Hamza and felt for everything that they went through in this book. The story did end in a cliffhanger in anticipation of the next book in the series. I just hope we don’t have to wait so long for it.
Reading This I was so transfixed I just did not want to put it down it was so Engrossing, Sad, Moving, Painful, Funny and Captivating that sometimes it left me speechless and my eyes filling with tears, Hamza and Neo go through so much and how it affects those around them shows how strong their bonds really are which is good because they face very trying times ahead. The Young Series Is Very Moving and Will Leave Wanting More!!!
The three stars is what the book would have gotten if Hamza's "path of destruction" wasn't started
Other than I loved the domestic bits, few as they were given the circumstances, between Neo and Hamza. I didn't like the intervention part since I never like reading scenes like it but that's a me problem.
I've loved this series from the very beginning! This story was very sad so keep the tissues handy. It's the first time in the series that there is an unexpected ending which leaves you wanting to find out what happens next. Looking forward to the next book! Highly recommended!
Neo and Hamza’s story was just as wonderful as the others. Definitely more sad parts and a few scenes that brought tears to my eyes. I was jazzed to see Torin, the Blishue warrior/spy, show back up and it appears he and Laken might be mates? Huh. Looking forward to the final book when it comes out.
All the characters were great. The death of king durin. His family and mate sorrow. Still having to restore must of a kingdom. The love and new life. Then revenge in war time. The new change and new allies. Theirs nothing but excitements and Love. Renewing of unity of life. Read and enjoy.
This book was incredible. Hard to read without crying, laughing, yelling. MC out did herself. I could actually feel all her emotions in this book. It's an emotional ride but worth it. When you finish, you feel so close to the characters and you'll want to reread the whole series!
Okay I said "Bound By Destiny" was my favorite of the series. But now I have to say that Bound By Love is now my favorite. This story had all the emotional feels along with action, lots of action, and political intrigue. Oh, boy, did I bawl my eyes out. And I was riveted with the suspense. This story was just so, so good!
Of both The Harvest and The Harvest Young, this is the book that took me the most to read, not because it's bad or anything but because I had to take a few days off to mourn Duran (I already imagined he would die after reading the plot summary but I really loved him and accepting his death wasn't easy). Anyway, I loved the book, it made me cry a lot!

This story was amazing. It was absolutely fantastic. Hamza... Wow. Really well done. You can really feel hamza's emotions through the pages. Neo's as well. So very very excited for the next one!
This book deals with war and the effects on everyone involved either directly or indirectly. Much of which is happening in parts of the world now. Hopefully book 4 is out soon and wraps everything up nicely.
Such a wonderful book. I was truly touch by the sadness, rebirth and triumph. I have never left a review before and I have a voracious reading appetite. Highly recommended. Thank you!
This was such a tough book to read emotionally. I’ve read and re-read the rest of the series so many times eagerly awaiting this book. It did not disappoint. Hamza and Neo were great together and suited each other so well. Old characters popped up which was great, the humour still there. For me, this book has to be the best. The world the author has created is amazing. I’m looking forward to the last book so much even if it will be the end. The journey has been tremendous
