Viking Lost: Epic Fantasy from the Viking Age

Rate this book
The Vikings want the village. The gods want the souls. Can Tor save his family before everything goes to Hella? With one son preparing for marriage, the other about to have his soul ring painfully cut from his chest, things were finally looking up for Tor and his family. He was even thinking of ways to fix his own marriage with the boys' stepmother. But when a weather-worn dragon ship washed into his hidden fjord with a half-dead Viking giant, a Christian slave girl, and members of Tor’s old crew, the life he’d made began to unravel. Once, Tor had traded his own cracked and mottled soul for glory—but he wanted better for his sons. But even they could be lured by the Viking’s promises of adventure and riches, compared to their life of want and runaway goats. Only Tor knows that if he can’t defeat the giant, he and his family might be the village’s first sacrifice to the gods he left behind. Viking Lost is the first novel in the exciting Saga of Souls historical fantasy series. If you like Norse Mythology, soul-less Vikings, and want a glimpse of the underworld, read Viking Lost.Scroll up and download your copy now!

Hi, I'm Derek, and I'm glad you're here. If you like Vikings, Mythology, Norse or Celtic folklore (Trolls, Dwarfs, the Vikings TV show, Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, that kind of stuff), then we're going to get along just fine.

As a Norske American, I've always been fascinated by the myths and folklore of my Scandinavian ancestors, and of course, the Vikings.

Viking Lost was my debut Novel, combining my love of writing and my own Norse heritage. I live in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, far from Hel and safe from Trolls, which is more than I can say for my characters.

My hope is we have some interests in common, that you can't get enough of this stuff, and that you like my take on it. I tried to breathe some new life and perspective into some old tropes, while staying faithful to the history, folklore and myth that underpins it all. I hope I can bring some great stories and maybe a little adventure into your life.

While on my site, you can also learn more about me in my official bio, my books, and check out some cool Viking merchandise I think you're going to love almost as much as the books.

Wow! This story took a little bit to get me hooked but then didn't let me go. A fantasy of the Tolkien and Middle Earth kind. Battle between good and evil, old gods and new. The ending left me hanging and there are enough loose ends to provide for many stories to result from this first one. Can't wait for Book 2!

The story line was great, the character work was fantastic and the book had a smooth flow to it. This was a great start to a new series and a joy to read. I look forward to seeing what happens next.

I liked it. First fustian book I’ve read in twenty years. Many times it kept me eager to read more.
