We expected them to operate in the shadows, but to so blatantly attack us out in the open hinted at a darker purpose.
I still needed information, and I would do whatever it took to get it. But be careful when you seek the truth: sometimes you wish you'd left it buried...

Slayer convo after explosion between Fiona and Theo in the hospital wing. Fiona suggests that the explosion was an inside job, i.e. that someone at the school is working with the slayers. To which Theo replies “Fiona, listen to what you’re saying. The enemy we’re talking about are the Slayers. And no shifter would work with the Slayers. Ever.” Again the author is contradicting previous info, when Fiona has previously discussed the Slayers with the Council Boys they have explained that a) this group is probably the one to blame for her families and Ren’s clans deaths, and b) that the Slayers consist of anti-shifter people, including shifters that disagree with current leaders/laws/state of affairs in general (this last bit was never specified, why they chose to work with slayers, but it’s my broad guess). So, how on earth is Theo now suggesting that there’s no way that a shifter would ever be a slayer, when the author has towed a different line in previous books? Same happened in one of the earlier books, after Priscilla witnessed Fiona stand up to Angela and tell her being at the Academy wasn’t by choice but because her parents were killed, Priscilla confided in Fiona that her mother was dead too. Then a book or two later they’re getting ready for Enrique’s party and Priscilla pulls out two dresses that her (alive and well) mother has hand-made for the occasion. Although there’s quite a few books in this series, they are relatively short, approximately 4 of these would make 1 normal length book imo, and a good author does not tumble this severely on her 3rd book in a series (calculated xii/4=3). The author needs to seriously work on her record-keeping to keep her storyline following the same story-progression as in previous books. A point could also be made that the division of books is sloppy and happens at bizarre intervals, in the middle of a plot not on a cliffhanger (there is a difference). Collecting this series into bigger individual books would make more sense and then the series wouldn’t have 40(?!?!!!) books in total…

The books aren't bad. But they are expensive and deliberately end on cliff hangers. There are 42 books ... That's close to $200, when you include tax. I understand authors need to make money, but the never ending cliff hangers and expense honestly started to make me feel stupid for falling for it. I've also read numerous Kindle unlimited book series that are as good, if not better... And easier on the bank account. With inflation the way it is, just don't do it. Plus, by book 12 (that's where I gave up) the main character constantly whining about not being told everything, while simultaneously keeping major secrets, and breaking childishness. Then repeatedly flying off the handle gets old. She has trauma to work through , but the crying gets repetitive.... She's also an awful friend.... Always crying and complaining but never asking her friend hope she's doing. ..
4.75 stars “Do you ever wonder if there was more to it?” This book picks up exactly where the previous book left off and Fiona is in the infirmary recovering from her accident. Whatever happened is now bringing on her recollections of her past that are becoming clearer. However, the more Fiona sees, the more troubled she becomes and she is putting up a false bravado to everyone around her as she tries to deal with her newfound information. Yet there is one person who seems to know more than he is letting on. How will Fiona react when she hears the truth? This storyline is powerful with the charismatic characters and the feelings that one has while reading. It is one of those books that you just cannot get enough of and eagerly await the next installment.
What a way to dangle a carrot! Just when I think we're gonna get some answers, we get more questions. This is book twelve in the serial - a serial that hooked me from the beginning, and as the tension builds, so does that hook. I just love this world that Becca Fanning has built, and the more I know about these characters, the more I want to know. Each addition to the serial is a quick read, but the author certainly knows how to pack a punch and leave a reader wanting more. This is a continuing story, so we have another cliffy, and this one's a doozy. I can't wait to see what Fiona will do with what she's learned.
This series skips too much! What happened to the do over date with Dracus…never happened. Why do the characters know things and then suddenly not know them and are just learning it for the first time again. The story line would be great if you actually stuck to it! This series is a money sucker and I don’t know if I am going to continue reading it. Fiona just keeps getting whinier and whinier. It’s frustrating! And to top it all off whomever edit these books did a very poor job as I am constantly finding mistakes!

This book doesn’t pick up exactly where it should...it skips some major events at the end of XI. Those weren’t resolved or even discussed and the writing simply seems rushed and not nearly as clear. Very convoluted and written in circles. Seems like the author forgot where she was going. Sad. Previous books got me here. Almost don’t want to read the next- will try and see if it goes back to previous caliber of writing.
I fell right back into the story and did not want to put it down. I cannot believe the way that Fiona is going through these ups and downs. By now, I would have lost my mind with everything going on. I cannot wait for the next book to come out so I can see where she will go next. I am leaving a voluntary review for an advanced copy of the book.
Academy Of Beasts XII is book twelve in this series by author Becca Fanning. Intense- intriguing storyline. Pieces are coming together- the shadows are still there- but light is breaking through. Fiona just might be coming into her own- which side will she chose? Enjoy!!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Really! This book cost more then it should for like 2 chapters! I hate when people get greedy! The story and characters are great but I'm over having to buying a new book after five minutes of reading! Won't be buying or reading another book by Becca Fanning cut of this too
This fast paced read is the twelfth book in the series and continues in the saga. The characters face real danger, have secrets, experience ups and downs. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
