A Glennon Normal School Historical Mystery Book 7 Autumn 1918. Although the world is at war, Delia Markham is adjusting to her job as a typewriting teacher at the Glennon Normal School in the fall term of 1918. Her new life revolves around teaching future teachers. It isn’t an easy transition from her former assignment as Yeoman (F) in the U. S. Naval Reserve. Delia is settling into her new apartment on campus and her new life in Glennon. Though the world is at war, life moves forward. Her cousin, Hazel, is juggling changes in her life faced by women everywhere. Men across the country are being called to action leaving those at home to take up the slack of producing the necessary resources to power the fighting. Women everywhere are moving into jobs traditionally held by men and adjusting to new situations. All the while, Delia is acutely aware of the responsibilities weighing on her shoulders. The admiral, her former boss in the Navy, expects her to uncover the truth about a potential traitor. The outcome of her investigation holds a life in the balance. But when a death may touch the normal school, Delia is tasked with helping to get at the truth. While Wesley and Otis work on finding an enemy of their own, Delia is busy helping to uncover a killer. When they least expect it, a new adversary makes a first appearance in Glennon. This one may prove more powerful than a Great War.

Questionable Results is the seventh book in A Glennon Normal School Historical Mystery series by R. A. Wallace.
I'm starting to become quite cross that it is still September in this series. It is frankly ludicrous to me to pack all the murders, plot, espionage, ect (all alongside the war and pandemic) has occured over the course of this series in ONE month and near everyone is continuing to carry on as usual. Let's just transition in October already, it's a lovely month.
But putting aside my frustration in that regard, Questionable Results has been one of my favorite books in this series. It took a while for this series to get going, but these later books are certainly an improvement and make it worth continuing with the series.
There is a good sense of danger in this one and a fair bit of sleuthing that made the reading quite compelling for me. I've noticed that both of the Glennon siblings seem to be becoming a bit more likable and a bit less lofty. I believe I know which direction the state of the big mystery of the series is headed, but I'm looking forward to continue reading to learn if I'm write and how everything will turn out.
I will say that the book ended feeling a bit incomplete, but I've already started the next in the series and it continues almost as if it were the same book. Perhaps it would have flowed a little nicer were it to be one book, but I assume the author is trying to keep each of the book in the series to a similar length because each has been about 130- 170 pages. There all quite short and all in Kindle Unlimited, so I didn't really mind having to carry on to the next in the series to make this one feel complete. _____
2022 bk 283. The story continues. As the military school opens on Glennon Normal's campus and the state decides to have the local preserve surveyed, marked, and stocked for hunting and fishing, changes continue to plague the Principal of the school - changes that he doesn't want to have happen. The flu brings to halt the football and large group gatherings that he enjoys. When a dead man is found in the preserve, several of the college's faculty managed to mess up any clues and are under suspicion. This time the Principal asks the Yeoman to see that the college's name is not besmirched. Another excellent mystery with further clues to the overall series mystery.
I would recommend these books to anyone that likes a real mystery. The only thing I don’t like is they don’t last long enough. I am going to read more of this author. If you are looking for a love story this isn’t it but a true mystery plot.
But not four star better. I suppose I keep reading them as they are free. Delia has too much power. And it isn’t even a woman in WWI that is the issue. It is all of it. I do enjoy how physical she is in fighting for the truth.
