I really enjoyed the book. I've been working as a Dermal Therapist for over 9 years now and I still enjoy learning new things about skin. This book was absolutely brilliant. Not only was explaining in a beginner way how the skin works but also gave a good in-depth of science side that I absolutely loved. Also, she never even mentioned her skin care brand which is good . I tried them and are worth it.
LOVED this book! It truly is the skincare bible. I took my time reading it, learning as I went and now feel so much more knowledgeable on not just generalised skincare but also my own skin - what it needs, what to avoid. I have made many changes to my routine thanks to this book. Cannot recommend it enough!
An interesting read with lots of information. However I didn't find it always translated into practical advice. I was really wanting more specific advice and more information on what to look for in skin care products available
Such an interesting, informative and engaging read about the skin. Really made me think about the care I have towards my skin. But also an expensive book because now I give a damn about the products I use!
A book with decent information though at times it felt too preachy. For example, how she cured a teen's acne problem by having him modify his diet and lifestyle - everybody knows that but implementing lifestyle changes is the problem.
Also, I did not agree with the emphasis on mineral sunscreen makeup as the main sunscreen as one needs to apply a fairly large amount and people rarely use that much for make up. Moreover, mineral sunscreen that she goes on and on about leave a white cast on darker skin tones.
