This is an excellent book for those that are looking for more guided practice before diving into adult Chinese novels. While the bilingual nature of the book is geared towards intermediate Chinese language learners, advanced students will still benefit from the readings. You can just skip the English sections and just read the Chinese. The authors should be commended for their excellent selection of folktales and idiom stories from Chinese tradition as well as the corresponding mini-exemplar stories for modern usage of the sayings. This is a good resource for self-studying.
