Focus. No Distractions. Ángel Cruz had been chanting those words to himself most of his life, struggling to stay disciplined and dedicated in the crazy, brutal world that surrounded him. His work as an exclusive assassin demanded all his attention. Ángel had no time for relationships… until the day he set eyes and his wandering hands on Tamar Kinsey. For the first time in his life, he was distracted as hell, focused on the Kinsey princess. Ángel was determined to have her laughter, her loyalty, and the one thing he never expected to her love. Despite her family’s insistence on sheltering her from everything, Tamar Kinsey had made up her mind to master the underworld as well as her older brothers. Ángel Cruz’s offer to teach her the game was too good to pass up. Tay found Ángel’s dark persona and overprotectiveness both frustrating and alluring. Even as she learns to love her fallen angel, the demons of his unresolved past threaten to destroy any chance they might have in the present. Their sexual chemistry was off the charts, but Briar Rose and Ty Kinsey were still figuring out this relationship business. An up-and-coming surgeon, Briar knew a stellar reputation is crucial to her goal of rising into hospital administration. The appeal of her young dope boy made her want to throw caution to the wind and, for once, just live. Ty vowed to renounce his player ways and rock with her solely. But, as Briar learns the profound importance of family to the Kinseys, she fears that her longest-held secret will keep her and Ty apart forever.
That's me, in short. I've been writing since elementary school and won my first prize in seventh grade. I am a romantic at heart and love a happy ending! Join me on this writing (and reading) journey--you won't be disappointed!
This was the sodom epitome of dysfunctional and childish behavior🙄🤦🏾
Queen Elle Kayson took us on one hell of a dysfunctional, childish, drama filled ride. I was so over most of these couples and their childish a** wishy washy behavior, I was honestly glad when the book ended🤷🏽. My favorite couple still stands Mir & Chantal they're the only ones who act their age instead of their shoe size😔. Tripp & Cyn and even Tre & Shay too.
I was curious about Angel & Tamar’s story after reading “The beauty of this street love” and was happy to see they had their own story. I didn’t like how I was basically reading the same chapters from the book I had just finished. I feel like the book didn’t quite focus on Angel and Tamar as I thought but essentially, gave us their perspective on situations that had already happened in the previous book. I think they could use more character development. It was just OK
Girl!!!!!!!! The cliffhangers are always insane. I’m already about to read the next one. I didn’t think I was going to care enough about Tay’s story to read it but I was wrong. Tay and Angel have a good story going and I love Tay’s whole background of being a woman in the game but Christ are they annoying. Tay is spoiled and childish but Angel is also seeking out a relationship that he’s not even emotionally available for. That’s so unfair to Tay and I would be pissed too. I also think this should have just been part of the book before it because the plot didn’t go any further and I skipped a few chapters because I already knew what was going to happen, it was just a different POV. Luckily I like this series enough that I didn’t mind it but it is repetitive. But omg Cyn’s part of this story I CRIED. Cyn and Tripp have the best story!!!
Nobody asked but here’s my accurate ranking of each love interest:
1. Tristan/Tripp and it’s lowkey not even close 2. Ty and he would be closer if I saw more of his personality 3. Angel even though he’s annoying 4. Mir but I honestly have no opinion on him 5. Tre cause he’s insane.
Thank you.
Update for part 2:
Boy I can’t stand Angel and Tamar, but whatever. Like you want her soooooo bad but letting everything stop you from doing it. Yeah okay bucko. He started out amazing for me too but as time went on he just pissed me clean off. And on top of that, idek what Tay liked about him?! Barely funny, his one hobby was never really talked about, didn’t show any emotion. Go head somewhere with that. And then his whole story for hiding his past… you’re a grown ass man. Sorry as hell.
New ranking!
1. Tristan 4L 2. Ty and it’s a little closer but he’s such a yn 3. Unfortunately… Tre smh but the crazy grew on me 4. Angel and only because it’s the lowest I could go 5. Mir cause I still have no opinion on him and I do think he’s toxic still
This series was so fun to read and there’s so much room for more. Dominique & Daniel, then Bones 👀
What a great way to end the series. I love Tamar and Angel together. They had problems like real couples do, but I was glad they were able to get through them. The Brothers and their significant others made a great story as well. I'm happy Briar and Ty worked everything out and are expecting one of their own. Great book
This book gave me life! I so thoroughly enjoyed it! Between Angel n Ty crazy ass wit their women I didn't think that they would get it right smh. I'm so glad that everyone got their hearts desire. Great job mama! This was fire right here! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Not gonna lie, I kind of wanted that last warehouse scene. Also, I'm going to need Briar's story. OK, honestly, I just don't want this to end. I need everyone's story in depth. I just need more. But overall, I'm super happy with the way that it ended.
Oh my god! The way Elle Kayson knows how to write a story and leave us on the cusp of more to unfold should be a sin! The twists the turns! Angel and Tamar going back and forth need to get it together. What is going on with Briar! Ty fix it!! Shamar!!!!! My blood pressure immediately went up with this cliff hanger. On to part 2!
Hot darn, no Tripp didn’t sing “So Amazing” by Luther Vandross to Cyn as she walked down the aisle. I loss my sh*t. That’s so sexy❤️❤️❤️. Angel oh Angel 😜😜. Tré is still crazy as ever. The way Angel and Tré use their snipper skills to save Tripp and Cyn from the Princes was an adrenaline rush and sexy af🔥🔥🔥
OMG...What can but this book besides it was so good. I'm happy Angel got his shit together and finally realize what he was missing and stopped running. Sad to say was starting to give up on him...Sorry... The same goes for Ty and Blair. I Love my bae Tre he has grow so much.
You are really a talented writer. You have easily crept up to one of my top10 writers. The Kinsey clan was everything and Angel wss the chart on top. I couldn't put this Dom down, I'm so glad that everyone got their situations together. I can't wait til the next book drops!
Enjoyed this but this author style of writing is annoying at times when she repeat a scene twice cause she wants you to know what character feeling at the time but it just makes me fast forward. Love this family dynamic
Loved loved this book my favorite series i love me some Angel and Tamar, all them Kingsley’s men are my favorite as well I’m sad to see them go but great job on this book
They not only got it together but they got married too. Angel was meant for Tamar like Shay was meant for Tre. His step daddy really had it out for him like get over it dude
Loved this!! I was so hopeful for Tamar and Angel. I got really anxious toward the end but I was so glad that it all came together. Love the Kinsey crew!
This follow up book was basically the same timeline as the rest of the series but it gave us more information on what Tamar and Tyrese were doing just in more detail. I loved reading from their POV.
I changed my mind about my favorite brother cause girlllll, Ty! I love how Ty been coming bout his fairytale girl! They are up there for my favorite couple behind Mir/Chantal. Ty broke down all them walls baby.... He just needs to take care of that one thing and I think their story will come to a great end.
Now, Angel and Tamar were okay together, I honestly never thought they would get it together. They actually drove me crazy especially Angel. I hope book two gives me the closure I need from the two of them.
My favorite part had to be Tripp singing to Cyn at their wedding like that was so cute, I loveeeeed it!
Elle know she gone leave you with a cliffhanger baby! I ain;t mad at it at all.
There's no listing on Goodreads for book two so.. here's my review:
This book stressed me out from beginning to end but I literally never took my eyes from the pages. I was obsessed with Kinseys. My favorite brother is definitely Ty! I feel so bad cause I loved Tamir (especially cause he loves Target, lol) but Tyrese baby definitely takes the cake. I guess, I prefer a little more crazy and confident man in my life.
Angel got on my NERVES baby and Tamar was THAT girl through and through. I could not believe what she did to get Angel to stop playing on her dome. She told him multiple times to leave her alone and she was not playing with him. She was gone make his ssa listen to her one way or another.
I loved update from all of the couples in the Kinsey family. I just wish we got to see a little bit more from Shay and Tre because the small update in the end was not enough, maybe just a small epilogue lol.
This was the perfect series to get me back from this slump I was a just in. I am having the hardest time saving Demon's Dream for this summer like I want. Elle Kayson knows how to tell a story baby!
I wanted to wait until you finished the entire series before I gave a final review and Ms. Elle Kayson did NOT disappoint!!! It took me less than a week to finish 'There’s Beauty In This Street Love: A Texas Tale' 1-3 and 'There’s Still Beauty In This Street Love: Her Fallen Angel' 1-2 and I loved every minute of it! Ms. Kayson knows how to use that to take her readers on a roller coaster ride. She knows how to write a man who is completely unhinged but completely in love with the women in their lives. Some may call it 'back and forth' but I like to call it a delicious game of cat and mouse ! One minute everything is paradise then the next shit is category 5 hurricane but they always find a way back to each other. The men in these books play no games and they know how to get what they want! Chileeee those Kinsey brothers are something else and so is Tamar! These last two books have been my favorite out of the series by far ! Tamar/Ángel and Tyrese/Briar were my favorite couples out of all the Kinsey kids which that last book focuses on the most, but Tripp, Tre, Tami, Tyrese and Tamar have a place in my heart! The Kinseys are no nonsense with a couple of screws loose but they love so so hard ! I will admit, The way some storylines come to and end were a little anti-climactic (ONLY A LITTLE) however the last chapter and the epilogue was SO GOOD! Had my heart pumping LOL, if you know, you know !! All in all I loved loved loooved this book and enjoyed the ride ! I could read another 5 books about the Kinsey’s!
First of all (In my Tamar voice), this book was too good. Let me just say that Angel was on my hit list. He had me so fiery hot mad with how he was doing Tamar. However, I do understand personally how childhood abuse trauma can cause all types of issues in your adult relationships. So, I sympathized with him and how his mind worked. I laughed at how Tamar’s temper was what made everyone know she was pregnant. Because babygirl was legit a hurricane in these streets. I do feel as if Isa, the mama and the daddy should’ve met lead. That’s just me though. Because Isa lacked common sense.
I was also so very angry because even though they worked it out…TYRESE AIN’T SUGAR HONEY ICED TEA!!!! My goodness the way I was livid flying through these pages. Briar did NOT deserve his treatment. So immature of him to respond that way. Case in point why dating guys younger than you ain’t for the weak. He came to his sense though because Briar made him FEEL how she felt. Lol!
I want to know what happens with Dr. Dominique and Daniel Cruz, and also Bones and Karma. 🤣🤷🏾♀️
This book was great read with fantastic characters, laugh out loud moments and steamy scenes. The Beauty of This Street Love series had me wanting the rest of Angel & Tamar, and Tyrese and Brair story. However, the first book in this series also gives us the birth of Tremell and Shamar's babies and I wish that it was a part of their story in the series when they were the main characters. Thats really my only compliant because that part of this story left their series feeling incomplete, and if I hadn't read this series, I wouldn't have gotten it. So instead of this series focusing more on Angel and Tyrese, and feeling like the start of a new series, it feels like a continuation of The Beauty of This Street Love series. I think if you read that series and loved it, this series is a must read. Anyways, I enjoyed getting more of Angel and Tamar, and Tyrese and Brair and the rest of their family and friends. I'm definitely looking forward to reading the next book to get more. I'm also waiting for Daniel and Dominique to hook up so I can see what their about.
Ended on a cliffhanger while I had been praying for an ending at least 60% into the book. The author appeared to be very impressed with the characters who were described as crazy. The major conflict of an op targeting the Kinsey clan finally unraveling 75% in but it was so anticlimactic and the twist twisted with so unclearly with loose ends. There is not enough emotional intelligence to balance the crazy. Characters who come across as teenagers displaying bratty behavior is not a good and I am tried of authors using it as a norm. Please bring maturity to adult characters. Elevate readers with demonstrations of effective communication. I love to be entertained and gaining something from the investment in the journeys. Nobody is perfect but growth is beautiful. Running million dollar crime families takes a level of intelligence it needs to reflected outside of crimes too.
Let me start by saying I love Elle Kayson’s books. Love love love them. However, this series fell flat for me though.
It was the female protagonist who weren’t giving. What I usually like about Elle is that she writes well rounded, multidimensional characters. But Tamar and Briar were Uber annoying. Tamar was always turned up and there was never a moment where she ever seemed to mature. Her decision-making and constant need to be the center of attention were tiring. But, she didn’t irk me as much as Briar. Ugh. I wanted so much better for Ty. When I tell you I’ve never rooted against a character as much as I rooted against her. Chile.
I also felt like the story felt too predictable. I’m used to twists and turns from Elle.
The male characters were awesome as always. But, overall, it was just okay.
I knew I wanted to know more about Angel and Tamar after reading the other series. It’s an added bonus that we still get more about the rest of the Kinsey family as well, and whew chile. While this book isn’t as bloody/graphic, do heed the trigger warnings. There is still talk of murder, depictions of murder, talk of kidnapping. It’s just not as descriptive as the previous series. And, as descriptive as the gory scenes are, the sex scenes are given the same attention. If you prefer to read more fade to black, find it elsewhere! Additionally, each book builds off the others. Know going in that you’ll want to read the whole series at one time and download them all now!
While this was more of Tamar and Ángel becoming closer and figuring their stuff out. We get more of the Kinseys too. Tripp and Cyn's wedding. Meeting Briar's brother. Meeting Ángel's family, and more Kinsey shenanigans. I'm not going to lie, Tamar had me like girl, get it together. Her inner monologue of complaints was almost like she was pregnant. You want to be Reina, but you can't control your emotions. Storm is obviously still a problem and how did she find out about Briar's condition? That ending, I'm praying everything works for good because Tre really will lose his whole mind.
Did she remove book 2 from KU because I can't find it???
