Rowan

I've only ever cared about two things: Racing cars and being king.
Despite what my younger brother says, there's more to life than chasing skirts.
Until she walks into the room.
Dark hair, luscious lips, gorgeous curves…
Ava has every part of my body standing at attention.
She consumes my thoughts, my desires… I will possess her.
I’m the future king, dammit.
If only her sister would get out of the way.

Zelda

It was a simple job, in and out.
Seduce a crown prince, humiliate him in front of his people, get out of jail free.
Finally, I would keep my promise to my sister: Ava would be safe.
I never saw the tables turn.
I never saw him coming.
Cal was only looking for a party… Until he found me.
He’s the Playboy Prince, the brother of my target, the object of my lust.
Ripped, lean body, talented fingers, talented tongue. He’s wickedly smart and completely irresistible.
He’s ruining my job… he’s ruining everything.
Now I’m staring down the barrel of a gun, and I have only one choice… RUN.

(PRINCE is a thrilling action-adventure romance full of twists and turns and smokin’ hot sexytimes. It is Book 1 of the “Dirty Players” series, formerly titled THE PRINCE & THE PLAYER. No cheating, but you do have to keep reading… Let the games begin!)

The Prince & the Player is a fast-paced, intriguing read that left me wanting more! I love ‘modern day fairytales’ with twists so this was right up my alley.

The story starts with two sisters, Zelda and Ava Wilder. Zelda and Ava have had hard lives. Zelda is Ava’s older sister and will do anything to protect her, to provide for her. Zee is a bit of a con-artist but she also has a good heart. When she gets blackmailed into helping take down a prince in a far away country by seducing him, she really has no choice. The uncle of the prince is threatening to expose not only her but Ava, and she protects her sister no matter what.

Rowan is the Crown Prince of Monagasco. He’s not looking for forever, but his mother is insistent he find a wife. When his sketchy uncle comes home with two American’s, he’s intrigued. Zelda is all good and fine, but it’s the beautiful Ava that catches his eye. The Crown Prince has a brother named Cal who becomes enamored with Zee. It’s quite a tangled web. Zelda is so conflicted. She needs to do the right thing for the job and for Ava, but at the same time, she starts to develop feelings for Cal. It’s quite the mess.
“I can’t help feeling we were meant to find each other. Our paths were destined to cross.”

This story was told in dual POV- Zelda and Rowan. It’s really interesting to get both of their perspectives. Zee with Cal a bulk of the story, and Rowan and his feelings for Ava. Zelda is a fantastic character. She has lots of heart, is a great person and even though she makes some mistakes, she is loyal to a fault to the ones she loves and would do anything for them. Cal is fantastic as well and I love him for Zee. Rowan and Ava’s storyline wasn’t quite as exciting for me, but I still liked them.

After the ending, I’m anxious to find out what's going to happen next with these four! Looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

OMG I LOVED THIS STORY SO MUCH! Zelda has always done what needs to be done to take care of her younger sister, Ava, so when Ava's life is in danger unless Zelda completes her mission, well, she's going to do it. See, all she has to do is seduce the Crown Prince/King in order to humiliate him in front of the country. What could possibly go wrong?! Well, Rowan isn't some naive boy & he has always tried to do what's right for the country, but now he must protect he & his brother because someone from the shadows wants them gone, but luckily, Cal is a force to be reckoned with on his own. This story was so fast paced that I felt like I was out of breath by the end since so much was going on. The twists were crazy intense, leaving me on the edge of my seat dropping a crap ton of f-bombs all over the place. To me, nothing is more exciting than palace intrigue as it provides me everything to get my heart racing as I wait for the shocking bombs to fall! I definitely need more badly as I need to know what I don't know yet! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

All hail Tia Louise and her newest series!!! Yes that right, Ms. Tia Louise has officially reined in her readers like myself as she got me royally obsessed with one crown prince and one playboy prince. And of course, two sisters who happens to be a con-artist and a petty thief. That’s right how could you resist reading this royally sexy complicated romance. Well, the answer to that simple. You can’t.

#Prince&ThePlayer

If you have read Ms. Louise’s previous books then you are all aware that she can bring heat, passion, steam, suspense, and intrigue. Well in The Prince & The Player, Ms. Louise did that and so much more but with a royal twist by presenting two different brewing romances between two princes and two con-artists.

Zelda and Ava Wilder are two American orphans, who have both beauty and brains but they are also two con-artists who have done what is needed to survive. From a little lie or two, pick-pocketing and some minor cons, the Wilder sisters have done it. But what happens when the Wilder sisters mission to snag a prince leads them to be royally screwed. Will these two Cinderellas discover that their very own Prince Charming might be two playboy princes?

photo 745bd40e8de53b19d78026a04492ca_zpsj0fh8egc.gif “Her fingers thread with mine, and I know what I want. I know for the first time, and I feel complete.”

After their father, the King passed away, Rowan and Cal have tried their best to honor their father’s wishes even if it means reining in their playboy ways. So what happens when these princes fall hard for the Wilder sisters? Will they be having their own happily ever after or will they discover they might have fell for a con? Will this story have a royal fairy-tale ending? Or a royal scandal with a side of betrayal?

#PrincePlayer1

Tia Louise has definitely mastered the art of seduction, passion, and intrigue as she layered this book with so much excitement. The Prince & The Player is a story that couldn’t be put down as Tia Louise wrote a fun royal twist. Is there romance? Yes, there is and readers will soon discover that Tia did not just give you one but two. So if you are ready to get lost in a modern royal romance, then I highly recommend you to read this book. Fall in love with not just one prince but two sexy Prince who both have the charm and appeal to make any Cinderella hot and bothered.

While this book may have ended begging readers for the next book and what awaits for Zee and Cal, I will just say that Tia did an amazing job showcasing depth, romance, and suspense. The Prince & The Player was definitely one intoxicating and spellbinding read!!!!!

4.75 Royal Stars!

I have come to find that whenever I need a book that is nothing but good writing and pure entertainment, I can pick up something by Tia Louise. Add in the fact that she can definitely deliver the heat as well, I knew that The Prince and the Player would not disappoint!

I start by saying I was somewhat worried about the logistics of this read. Having read the short novella introducing the story, I had no idea how Tia Louise could pull off a story where not one, but two possible romances would be occurring. I was so pleasantly surprised at this new age type of fairy tale that brought a unique story but also developed all four characters smoothly.

 photo 9291a593-b4de-4ccb-bd61-952c25e4f428_zpstqyjdiw4.jpg

This author introduced Zelda and Ava Wilder, American orphans who are too good and too beautiful to have had to lie and cheat to survive. Together they have mastered the art of conning the rich to attain their comforts. They have no idea that their talents would put them on the radar of an exiled diplomat whose only agenda is to overthrow the current line of royalty in Monagasco. With smarts and looks, the Wilder Sisters, led by Zelda, are set to create a love diversion in hopes to snag the Prince! The line of royalty targeted belongs to the crown Prince Rowan whose life has been for country first since the passing of his father. He is smart, beautiful and charming to the core. He along with his equally stunning brother Cal, are doing their best to honor their father with the exception of their scandalous ways and playboy trysts! This royal duo is unprepared to have their hearts and perhaps their kingdom stolen…

 photo 237509d8-5eec-4ce6-87b0-bff2b49c02e5_zpsfnq394fp.jpg

In this book, the four characters, each unique in personality are perfectly intertwined within the tale. This is a tale of trickery and when the ultimate con is disrupted by matters of the heart, the story becomes so much more! Tia Louise does a stellar job of creating contrasting relationships set in the context of falling in love and also within the backdrop of betrayal. This story was truly unique as there is a magical, fairy-tale type love story developing between a prince and an orphan girl that never should have been. It truly was like seeing a movie where Ava and Rowan meet under the stars, eyes locked, sonnets were spoke, and just knowing that this love would be epic. At the same time there is this contrasting relationship with an inherently good con artist and the tarnished persona of the other spoiled, gigolo brother. There is a heated instant attraction with urgency and desire. Everything with Zee and Cal is more taboo…more spicy. Funny that neither couple should have been…who is playing who?

I cannot say enough good things about this read. It had such a light and airy quality to the story yet at the same time there were elements present to deliver a bit of danger and suspense. Again perfectly contrasting themes to match the love connections and characters. Both couples had perfect chemistry whether sweet or sexy. There was swoon-worthy romance delivered by Roman to a sweet Ava who deserved a good life. He offered her a hand and a life of comfort not only in valuables but more from his arms. Also, there was panty-dropping action with sharp dirty talk between Cal and Zee that kept the story edgy. This read truly had it all including a “leave you hanging ending” that had me ready to one-click the next book in series! With the con exposed, lives changed and hearts owned...there is no telling what will happen to Rowan, Ava, Cal, and the missing Zee…

A modern day fairytale with a twist.

***Grumble, grumble***

I liked The Prince and the Player. I really did…but…I was a wee bit frustrated with it too. I hummed and hawed over my rating because I didn’t hate this story but there were a few things that bugged the crapper out of me.

It’s part of the story. I know, I should have guessed that when it has #1 in the title but the blurb says – Brand New Stand-Alone. Ummm, I thought that meant the story had an ending with a couple living out their HEA in their castle creating little Prince and Princesses. One of the couples sort of gets there but it was so rushed and there are 20 billion other things going on at the same time that I couldn’t sit back and enjoy it. The other couple is way, way off from their HEA and I’m not even sure they’re in the same country. Where in the heck is Tortola?

Look, I’m not an orphan, haven’t had to live on the street or felt unsafe…BUT…if someone is bribing you to get you to do something – why would you trust they are doing it for a good purpose? If someone approached me and threatened a family member, there is no way I would trust their story. If I started feeling something for the people I’m supposed to be manipulating, why wouldn’t I move the trust to them? To me, that seems obvious.

I also had to question how these couples could so quickly “get it on”. Yes, I know the guys are royalty, but considering the way one of the heroes talks to the heroine, I’d kick him in the balls and get the hell out of there. Especially considering he’s not the one she’s supposed to be with. Hello…remember, you’re doing this because your family is being threatened. The other couple….

I’m definitely a romance reader who loves a good fairytale with a Prince to sweep the maiden off her feet, treat her right and give her a better life. I also don’t mind escaping reality and leaving my believability at the door…to a degree. I just felt that it was a little rushed to the starting gate for the couples matching up and getting to their happy place.

Will I read the next in the series in September? Maybe. The hero's have a sweetness in them that comes out when they are around their women and the heroines have a resilience that I couldn't help but admire. Bloody cliffies…suck me in every bloody time.

Two sisters. Two Brothers. Where's the harm in that? Nothing except for the fact that two come from Royalty and the others are simple thieves. What was supposed to be an easy job turned into anything but, after all how could you resist such devious charming Princes.
“Did you never dream of being a princess when you were a little girl?”

Zee & Ava came from a past where it would be stupid to home and dream, especially one that consist of becoming a Princess. Zee has been the sole protector and provider of Ava all her life, but this time even she has to admit she is in way over her head. Her goal was supposed to make the Prince fall for her, but his younger determined brother keeps distracting her every chance she gets. Until a job is no longer a job, but a secret she wishes she never made.
I feel like a dirty Cinderella, playing games with the handsome prince’s heart.

Rowan is set to become King, and with the support of his brother Cal, he is well on his way of moving his country to making major strides into the future. But when two sisters brought in from his once-removed banished Uncle, he sees a new future with a beautiful caring woman by his side. But stolen moments and secret rendezvous quickly become public knowledge and there are those who have waited too long to get their hands on the crown to give up now, regardless of who they need to dispose of to get it.

The Prince & The Player is a new take on classic fairy tale, only way sexier and a much more muddled. This story is told from multiple point of views, all with a distinct character voice, which will have you rooting for them all. I have to admit I did struggle a bit as I tried to wrap my head around it all, at first I wasn't sure whether I should be happy how things were looking to play out but in the end I loved how it all fell into place as it should just sad that there were all those secrets standing in their way. This story definitely continues on, but it leaves you feeling excited of what is to come next. Recommended for the drty-fairytale lovers ;)

Zee and Ava have been on their own since they ran away from foster care, choosing to live on the streets rather than another day in that hell. But for two underage girls it's not an easy life and they had to find a way to survive that doesn't include selling their bodies. And with Zee's perfect poker face, what better way then to become con's.

Years later they're still conning people out of their money to make ends meet. But for Zee the life is getting old and she wants to find a way out so she and Ava can live a better life. So when an offer comes that set her and her sister up for life, she goes for it.

The mission? Make the Grand Duke Reginald Winchester fall in love with her and then show his country that he doesn't belong in power. She never expected to fall for her marks brother though, and definitely never thought the mark would fall for her sister. The plan goes sideways and no one will come out of this unscathed.

After reading this all I want to do is have my friend smack me silly for not reading Tia Louise before now. This was my first book by her so I didn't really know what to expect but I think the fact that I went into it a little blind was a good thing. I was surprised with how into the story I got, and that I didn't want to put it down once I started. There were just so many questions that I had from the beginning and I needed to get all of my answers before real life could resume.

At first having two different relationships going on and being main focuses of the book was a little weird, but once I got into it there was an easy flow between the couples. I actually really liked how it was a split focus, and yet each couple had very important roles in the story. I seemed more drawn to Zee and Cal's story, though, and there were times I was tired of hearing about Rowan when I wanted to go back to Cal. But I think that was just my impatience getting the best of me at times. Cal was just so fun, and it was great watching the playboy falling for one girl.

I still really liked Rowan and Ava's part of the story too and it felt like they gave a break to the suspense that was taking place. Their relationship was sweet and light, and I loved getting to see Ava happy. There were a lot of questions about Rowans reign over the country, and why someone wanted to stop him, and I was going a little crazy trying to figure those answers out. Sometimes those questions got to be too much and it was like Tia knew the perfect moment to bring back the focus of Ava so that there was a break from wanting to pull my hair out in frustration over not knowing what was going to happen.

Overall, I highly recommend this book. It was like getting double the romance, and double the intrigue in just one book. The ending had me screaming for more and I'm already impatiently waiting for the next. Everyone needs to read this book so we can all suffer together while waiting for more.

Ms. Tia Louise has created such a splendid story in The Prince & The Player. Anybody looking for a great fun relaxing book will want to read this.

In this modern day fairytale, Rowan is one of the world's most eligible bachelors, heir to the throne. He’s charming, confident, very capable and smart. His brother Cal is the playboy prince who’s had his share of scandalous headlines but who’s also loyal to his country and the crown prince. Their uncle, Grand Duke Reginald Winchester, is exiled in disgrace. In order to oust Rowan and seize control of the government, he organizes a con with the help of two American sisters, Ava and Zelda(/Zee).

Zee and Ava earn small fortunes by cheating casinos. Unfortunately, they are caught in the act by Reggie and he threatens them unless they help him do a con on the crown prince. His plan is Zee to seduce Rowan and eventually humiliate him. The plan is put into action and it won’t take long before Rowan gives in...to Ava. As the four of them spend more time together, the two brothers seem to get magnetized by the two sisters’ charms. Things however become complicated when Rowan falls in love with Ava, and Cal with Zee. The two sisters are lovestruck for real and appear to have strong feelings for the princes. With danger and passion increasing to the breaking point, it looks like real happiness may require a slight change of plan.

Two sexy, alpha princes. Two beautiful sisters. Double the romance! Double the pleasure! Double the hotness!

The two couples have great chemistry and for those of you that don’t like love triangles, there was not of that here. What I enjoyed most was Cal’s naughty behavior in bed and the nimble dialogue with Zee. Prince Rowan is supportive, kind, devoted and incredibly attractive. Ava is also an interesting, well-rounded character. It wasn't hard to like her.

This book is an exciting, suspenseful, entertaining royal romance! It’s highly moving and absolutely impossible to resist. Things flowed really easily in this book and I’m looking forward to the second book in the series.

3.5* cinderella gone wild STARS!

Review @ Midnight Romance

My first read from Tia Louise and I was impressed. This is not your average cinderella story. The sisters were orphan yet managed to survive. The princes weren't some rich egoistical bastard instead they're working hard to keep their country under detain by another. I really enjoyed their 'adventure' that managed to keep me on toes.

From thieves to con-artist, Zelda "Zee" Wilder and her sister, Ava went to Monagasco under the threat of someone who despised the royal family. It was supposed to be an easy job. Zee's target was the future king, Rowan Westringham Tate instead she fall for the playboy younger brother, Cal. The plan has changed and the person who behind this started to move and they're not gonna like it.

I was more into Zee than Ava. She didn't want her sister to take this path. Zee always protect Ava and they couldn't easily leave each other. IMO, Zee was more bad-ass and Ava's the tender-heart and loving one. Their trip to Monagasco isn't for vacation; but on a mission to seduce the princes. But Zee got the wrong one.

description
This prince seriously throws me off my game. I’ve got to remember who I am. I’m Zelda Wilder, professional con woman. This isn’t my first rodeo.

Because of the scandal, Rowan was pushed by the queen to have a bride. But Rowan isn't attracted to any of them except for Ava. The mysterious woman from Texas. I really want to like Rowan but it was really hard. I couldn't find any attraction to Rowan that makes me want him. But I found myself interested in Cal. He's free-spirit and laid back. Cal's interest with Zee was more passionate than Rowan and Ava.

The story told from 2 POV's between the eldest, Zee and Rowan. I enjoyed the Wilder sister's adventure at first, but when they reached Monagasco and started to romance the Princes made me lost interest. The insta-lust was unbelievable. I must say the Princes was kinda stupid. Both Zee and Ava came from Texas by her exiled uncle, yet they believed him? Didn't run background check or something? Hmph. Cal was more intuitive and smarter than Rowan. I couldn't believe Rowan was easily distracted by his dick. I hardly connect with Rowan and Ava. They were so passive and cheesy and insta-love... BOOM! Marriage propose, people...

description

The story was well-written yet very slow-paced with the romance. Really wasted time but too much sexual activity. They're just horny all the time. However, I found my interest again in the end of their supposed-to-be mission. When every lies unveiled and the truth came, it was more thrilling and exciting. The villain of the story was cold and ruthless. Ended up with heartbreak and cliffhanger, I couldn't wait to read the next book.
Zelda Wilder is no princess. The closest I am is a dirty Cinderella, an orphan on the run, and that’s not the kind of girl for a prince.

Zelda & Ava Wilder are two sisters who have lived a hard life. After losing their parents they are orphans who are put in foster care. At the risk of abuse, Zelda runs with her younger sister & vows to always protect her no matter what. Being on their own since they were kids, they lie, cheat, steal, whatever it takes to survive & get by. Zee has become quite the con artist & has taken them from living on the streets to a roof over their heads. One evening while working a con in a Miami casino, the ladies cross paths with a man from Europe. He witnesses Zee in action, & offers them a proposition that will give them great wealth & freedom. Zee & Ava just want to be safe & have enough money to take care of themselves. This man is the uncle of the crown prince of Monagasco. He wants Zee to seduce the future king & make him appear to be a careless leader. Zee & Ava head to Monagasco on a mission where they believe they are saving a country & then leaving as very wealthy women.

Rowan & MacCallum Tate are two brothers who are royal. One is the crown prince & the other is considered the "playboy prince." After the loss of their father, Rowan is being groomed to take over as King of Monagasco. He is very noble & always tries to do the right thing. He takes his position very seriously & knows he has to be the responsible one. This means his focus is to serve his country, while attempting to stay out of the tabloids & avoid the paparazzi. Many critics are saying he's too young, inexperienced & reckless. He's out to prove himself as worthy of the title of King. He's shown strength & is known for being powerful & tough.

 photo 47EC8ED0-DE18-4D81-AE36-A76A05E932B0_zpsvwjvxixt.jpg

When the conspiring uncle he exciled returns to town with two beautiful women in tow, Rowan & Cal are both stunned by their beauty & intrigued. Sparks fly & lines get blurred as passions ignite between these four gorgeous people. As the uncle plots his revenge, two relationships are forming & things are seriously heating up. The ladies are being pursued by two sexy swoon worthy brothers & are beginning to feel like they are living in a fairytale the way they are being wined & dined. Between royal balls, fancy hotels, lavish casinos & parties, they feel like they're living in a dream. They are being pampered & treated like queens by their very own prince charming's.

As these couples fall for one another we get two beautiful love stories. The sisters are finally truly happy & it threatens to be all taken away. I really loved this book! It had two hot alpha princes & was full of danger, suspense, & excitement. Can't wait for the next book! I need more!!! :D

This is a new series from Tia Louise an it as started with a big bang I luvd it I read Dirty Player an I was dyin to get my hands on the this an I wasn't disappointed at al

The story is about Zelda/Zee an her younger sister Ava they have had a really shitty life Zelda will do any thing to protect her sister she have leant a lot of things livin the life they do an they r good at it but when they get caught after 1 of there scams there whole life changes an it's for the best but with a few compilation thrown into the mix they never thought that meeting a newly crowned King an Prince could b so much fun but I think they mite of had to much fun an forgot the plan

Rowan is the newly crowned King an he his goin to follow in his father footsteps an do him proud he had to make a few changes throw people out who his father thought were good but Rowan knew better he mite be young but he had heard thing that would make him grow up quick but he's not on his own he as he playboy brother Cal standing by him Cal plays hard an has had his fair share of woman an so as Rowan but his no way as bad as Cal but these brothers r very sexy an the woman just throw themselves at them an I think I would throw myself at them to but when they see Zee an Ava at a Ball they r stunned but the brother don't know the whole story about the very beautiful sister it mite just blow up in the faces

I have to say this was brilliant I'm a big fan of this author an her books an this will b adding to my fave but the ending killed like really killed me I didn't want it to end so I really need September to b here rite now I know I have to wait I just hate cliffys ok over it for a minute anyway I just luvd the characters the brother r very different an I 've decided that Cal is my Fave the way he is with Zed is so cute an I don't think Cal would b classed as cute really but he just can't get enough of Zee an she falls for him just as hard they have fun and r very sexy together it's the same with Ava but she as been through loads and she is very different to Zee she is beautiful an Zee is to but Zee is stronger an bein with the King as made her go for what she wants and Rowan is what she wants they r also very hot together there is just so much hotness an it's great

Overall I was gripped by the story characters an the way the story was written it was fun sad and sexy I would highly recommend it but like I said there's a cliffy just a lil warning but dont let this stop u from reading it or u will miss out xxx

4 Royal Me Stars

I’m obsessed with Princes books. Yes, please give me royalty and the girl from the streets!

The Prince and the Player is about four characters, two sisters and two brothers. The two sisters are from the streets, they con people in order to make a living and the brothers are princes.

Love where this is going right?

The story is about Zee, her sister Ava and the Princes are Cal and Rowan. I really like books with multiple characters, I find that it adds a little more to the story and it makes it more interesting. The book is told from Zee and Rowan’s POV. I love dual POV books, but in this case, I think I would have liked all character’s POV better, I know some people don’t like that because it’s just too much, but that’s me.

Zee loves her sister Ava and has been taking care of her since the time they ran away from foster care. Zee is older, wiser and still conning people in order to make it day by day. She runs into someone who tempts her with an offer she can’t refuse.

I like that Zee is street smart and I love how protective she is towards her sister. I have a sister, so I totally got that. It’s not always easy liking a Heroine who is a con woman, but you feel for her. Why work a nine to five job and make pennies right?

Ave is adorable and I REALLY do wish she had her own POV. She’s sweet, young and loves her big sis. She follows Zee in her scam because that’s what she does. There’s more to her story and I really enjoyed getting to know her.

Rowan is a cad. He likes women and fast cars. To my surprise I liked Cal a lot more, Rowan’s brother. Cal is more of a player and he’s the fun one. I found Rowan a bit standoffish, but I love how he is loyal to his brother and his country. I found his character very different from Cal and it was good, because I didn’t want them to be the same.

Somehow everyone interacts and the stories intertwine and I really enjoyed this. What I love most about this story is that its dialogue based and it’s action pact. I never knew what was going to happen and the ending will have you gripping the pages.

All I can say is that, don’t have expectations while you read because you will hit many surprises along the way.

Royalty, suspense and romance. I think, I found my new favorite plot combination. This is my first book of Tia Louise and I'm hooked.

About the plot: Zelda and Ava are orphans. They escaped from abusive foster home and lived on the street. To survive, they worked in a group that scams in casinos and other fraud. When one day they fooled the wrong man. Grand Duke Reginald Winchester (brother of queen of Monagasco, mother to Rowan and Cal). Reginald was banished from the Duchy of Monagasco for scheming against the country. He threatens the two young women to go with him to Europe. Zelda has to make that Rowan fell in love with her, and then discredit and ruin his reputation in the eyes of the nation. The thing is, it's Ava who caught the eye of the prince, and Zee alone was smitten by his younger brother.

“I feel like a dirty Cinderella, playing games with the handsome prince’s heart.”

Final thoughts: What a ride! Four people. Two pairs of siblings. And two love stories. Yes! In this book there are two stories in one told from various perspectives. It sounds chaotic? Perhaps sometimes could have been a more developed moments, there are also questionable one, when you undermine the decision of the heroes and their actions. I could roll my eyes once or twice. But at the end, I would have changed nothing, because it work out really fantastic and I just read an excellent and unique story.

“I can’t help feeling we were meant to find each other. Our paths were destined to cross.”

The action is fast, a lot is happening. We have not only love story, fast cars, glamorous events and world of wealthy and beautiful people. But also enemies, intrigue and jealousy. The chemistry between the characters is great, and a little dirty talk turn up the heat. So everything that you can imagine. Lots of fun. I'm so glad that there will be another part of the story.

Do not be discouraged with the cliffhanger. Yes, it is here, but it is one of that with which I don't have problems. It ended certain stage of plot and now you are waiting for the next one. I can live with that. I am excited about how these stories grow further. September could not to be faster.

Lies and deceit are the only things keeping Zelda and her sister safe. They’ll have to pull the biggest heist of their career. Make the king and his brother fall in love with them. But danger lurks far closer to home, one wrong move, well you get the jits….off with her head! Yeah so that line was taken from Alice in Wonderland. But just like the movie this read was equally entertaining. Five crowning stars worth.

The Prince & The Player by Tia Louise was another sexy story full of angst and drama.

I think a big part of why I didn't enjoy this book was the fact that I've been reading too much romance lately - so take that into consideration when reading my opinion. Was this book great? Absolutely! Am I a bit burnt out on romance books? A little.

This book follows Zelda and her little sister Ava. Zee gets involved with a Prince and gets blackmailed. Zelda has to deal with the Prince, her sister and some crazy drama that gets thrown her way from some of the other characters in this story.

I really liked the royal aspect of this story - it's not the typical royal story line that I've been seeing in romance lately. There's a lot of mystery and drama that's mixed in to this book that makes it feel soap opera-like. The scandalous nature of this story also gave it a little extra 'umph' that kept me hooked and reading to the very end.

This is definitely a series to keep your eyes on! Tia Louise is a fantastic writer than brings the sexy heat and ignites the flames on her pages.

Two out of five stars.

I don’t enjoy romance novels that deal with the rich and beautiful people. With all the shining beauty and perfect heroes and expensive presents and golly-gosh-goodness it is usually just an exercise in trying to keep my eyes from rolling out of their sockets. So a rags to riches fairy tale dealing with actual royalty? I was dubious. But this is Tia Louise. I went for it.

And from the very first page I knew I was going to love this book! With only a couple of sentence she already had me invested in her characters. I was totally sold on Zelda and Ava. But then she gave me a prince and a king who were both impossibly swoonworthy and added in an interesting premise that developed into a plot that held me riveted.

I adore Tia Louise’s writing. She always has just that hint of magic to escalate a first meeting or a first kiss into something that makes my cold, cynical soul feel like it’s rolling around in a bed of fluffy kittens. Her characters have just enough flaws and grit to keep them interesting, makes them feel real and has you fall in love with them. Her heroes are sweet without losing that manly spice of power and filth that makes them so frikking sexy. The Prince and the Player was no different.

This is an impossible fairy tale featuring people with an impossible amount of money but as I said before, in true Tia Louise style, there is just enough grit to make this all so entertaining. The emotions of these characters felt real and I got lost in the clever little details she spun this story in. There was humour and angst and tension and danger and two couple who were incredibly cute together. This book had just about everything to make for a greatly entertaining, un-put-down-able read.

If you’re in the mood for a possessive alpha or a bad boy player, read this because you get both. If you’re in the mood for a heroine who is strong or one that has her head in the clouds, read this because you get both. If you’re in the mood to lose yourself in a story about a billionaire or someone who is down an out, read this because you get both. If you’re in the mood for a sweet romance or a book filled with suspense and danger, read this because you get both.

And although this ends on a cliffy, for once I am happy about it because I am by no means ready to let these characters go.

Yup, this story here had my heart puttering, with a big smile on my face and my fist pumping in the air because a ‘regular’ girl was going to get herself a prince!!! What I didn't expect was the roller coaster ride my heart was going to experience! Tia Louise, what have you done to my heart?

Zelda's vowed to make sure her baby sister, Ava has everything she needs physically and emotionally. When she is forced to deceive the Princes, she has no choice but to go with it because her sister's life is in the balance.

Rowan is trying his best to do what is right for his country since his dad's passing, but there are some that want him and his brother out of the picture…

I must say, I had to pay close attention because this story moved so fast that I felt like I was the one on that racing track. Zelda never thought she would fall for the Playboy Prince but her love for her sister had her doing what she knew she had to do—even if it meant deceiving the Playboy. I felt so sad for Zelda because I wanted her to finally get her HEA!!!!

There were road bumps I did not see coming and that ending… What. The. Heck, Tia Louise??? Please tell me I do not have to wait that long to see what's going to happen to Zelda, Ava, Rowan and Cal! ~ Kara, 5 Exhilarating Stars

Off the freaking charts chemistry between Zee and Cal!

HOT. EXCITING. SUSPENSE. The best edge of my seat book I've read in months!

Zee and Cal are my new favorite couple. She's supposed to seduce the king, but it's the prince who catches her eye! Intrigue. Secrets. And a strong heroine. Who could ask for more????!!!!!

Tia Louise at her best!!!!!!!

Tia Louise weaves a beautiful tale of deception, sacrifice, and love in her latest intriguing and magical romance, THE PRINCE & THE PLAYER. I'm always extremely excited when I get something new from Ms. Louise. She enchants me with her poetic words and her breathtaking characters and lures me in with a storyline that is sexy and suspenseful. Instead of one love story, we are treated with two in this wonderful story. You know what that means ladies...double the pleasure! Two different couples, four different personalities, but they are all after one thing...FREEDOM.

With tons of laughs, sex, and suspense...THE PRINCE & THE PLAYER had me on the edge of my seat, biting my nails, and blushing like crazy! Titillating and intriguing 'til the very end!

The Prince & The Player and A Player for a Princess (Dirty Players Duet) by Tia Louise

Must be read together.
4.5 Stars

I am going to review both The Prince & The Player and A Player for a Princess by Tia Louise together since they make up the Dirty Players Duet, and can not be read without each other. Let me tell you, this duet gave me so much more than I bargained for! Back in the 90s, I was into the mystery/lawyer, exciting crime books a la John Grisham's The Firm. I realized reading this duet that I still love that type of excitement in my romances. The Dirty Player's Duet is billed like this:

Cinderella meets Ocean's Eleven in this ADULT CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE featuring secrets, lies, royal high jinks, scams and double-crosses; breathless, swooning lust, cocky princes, dominant alpha future-kings, and crafty courtiers, who are not always what they seem.

The duet brought all of this and more. Interestingly, this is about two couples. It is told by the female in one couple and the male in the other which is strange, unique, and it worked once I got the hang of it. At first, I had some trouble with the male narrator. In the first book, The Prince & The Player, he was so not sexy. He sounded kind of old to me and I usually find British accents sexy. In the second book, I figured he must have grown on me because he didn't bother me. I realized it was a different narrator after finishing both! They did a great job on continuity, because I can't believe I didn't realize. In this case, I am going to judge the story without the narration, and will discuss the narration further at the end. Because honestly, the story completely won me over despite not loving the male narrator.

We begin with two American sisters, Zelda "Zee" and Ava Wilder. They have had a really rough life, and Zelda does anything to take care of her younger sister, running cons and cheating at casinos while the beautiful Ava causes distractions and dabbles in pickpocketing. When they are caught by a wealthy stranger, they had to do what he said or go to jail. Zee's job--seduce the Crown Prince of Monagasco in order to discredit him. So Zelda and Ava were whisked away in luxury to Monagasco.
“Zelda Wilder is no princess. The closest I am is a dirty Cinderella, an orphan on the run, and that’s not the kind of girl for a prince.”

Rowan Westingham Tate and MacCallum Lockwood Tate are young handsome royalty. Since Rowan is older, he assumes the King position, but his younger brother, Cal, the Prince, is there to run the country with him. While Zee kept trying to seduce Rowan like she was supposed to, she was so attracted to Cal. And as we hear from Rowan, he quickly became obsessed with Ava.
“Her fingers thread with mine, and I know what I want. I know for the first time, and I feel complete.”

The problem is Zee's orders are to snag the King, not the prince! But the King had some other plans for Ava, and he only had eyes for her.
“I had sex with a king. Correction, I had sex with the king. I pretty much spent the entire night last night having orgasms. Can you believe it?”

The end of book one started getting dangerous and exciting, and ends on a small cliffy, but luckily, I had book 2 queued up, and I plowed right ahead. While I loved The Prince and the Player, I loved A Player for a Princess (book 2) even more. Book two made the sweeter, lighter story get a little darker, a little sexier, and a lot more action-packed. So action-packed that for the first time I actually couldn't do anything else while listening. I just stood there in the kitchen I was supposed to be cleaning, and listened, biting my nails.

Twists and turns, super scary moments, very sexy times and super romantic times, A Player for a Princess had it all.

audioreview_prince_-copy

I will say, I was partial to Zee and Cal, because I think we were supposed to be, being in Zee's head a lot more than Rowan's, or so it seemed.
Likes:

•A totally unique way of telling a story about two couples, having one voice from each couple.
•So much action, romance and sexiness!
•There were lots of lighter, funnier moments as well.
•An interesting, very twisted storyline that I never had trouble following.
•Just the right amount of detail to make you picture it all, but never too much to bore you.
•I can totally see this as a big screen movie. It would adapt really well to screen.
•Kept my headphones glued in my ears and couldn't stop listening.
•Loved the female narrator.
•Some super-hot sexing!
•The covers stand out as unique in a sea of same.

Dislikes:

•It took a little bit of time to get in the groove of the two narrators not being together romantically.
•See narration notes below.

Narration Notes:

•Different recording quality for each speaker. Background noise for the girl, and not for the guy. (I noticed this in the 2nd book, it may not have been there in the first).
•At first, I really really did not like the male narrator. So much so in fact, I thought about stopping a few times, but I had made a commitment to read it so I wanted to see it through (so glad I did). At first he sounds old. Instead of his accent being sexy, he sounded like an old, uptight butler. In book two, I noticed he was OK after all. I thought he must have grown on me, but then I found out book two was a different guy! LOL
•I enjoyed all the female narration, and not loving the male wasn't enough to take away my enjoyment of the book, but I must admit, had he been totally sexy I think it would have elevated the whole duet to 5 stars or maybe even 5+ range, but it's so hard to tell.

The Down & Dirty:
The Dirty Players Duet is a Cinderella Story filled with deception, lies, action, espionage, sabotage, kidnapping, hot sex, romance, political intrigue, human trafficking, assassination plots and more. It was truly an unputdownable roller coaster ride of a read that grabbed me so much I wasn't able to do anything but listen. The Dirty Players Duet needed to span two books because it is truly an epic tale of two couples told in a very unique way. My only complaint would be the male narrator in the first book, who had no sex appeal at all.. Still, I highly recommend this series, however you read it.

Rating: 4.5 stars (first book 4.25-4.5, second book 4.75), Heat 4.25, Narration 3.5

Two dashing young princes, Crown Prince Rowan Westringham likes his fast cars; his brother MacCallam “Cal” Lockwood Tate likes his fast women. But it’s Rowan who has a bit of an indiscretion that makes tabloid fodder, and the fall out is a push to take a wife and create a more responsible public image. Meanwhile on the other side of the ocean…

Zelda and Ava Wilder have been pulling cons, thefts, and swindles since they escaped foster care as teens. But when a scheming royal uncle catches on to their game, the sisters land a chance at a big payoff…if only they don’t find themselves duped by their own job. And this is where two very different sets of siblings cross paths and set the stage for a royal adventure.

In some ways, it’s like something out of the movies, and the Hollywood theme is strong with references to various films and the girls’ monikers. Visually—the settings, the clothing, the hijacks, the gorgeous and young characters—this story could really come to life if adapted on screen. I think this book would make a fabulous movie with the right actors to sell the pairings and the chemistry. Once the duos meet the story is fairly fast paced and thus the love/lust is instant. On screen that could easily be compensated, but in book form where the readers must immerse themselves in the characters mind and world, more character and romantic development was needed, especially when dealing with four previously carefree new adults who were never poised for a meaningful relationship before. The story is told via Zee and Rowan’s first person point of view. What’s going on with Ava and Cal is only displayed through their sibling’s narration/observation so really the reader is only getting one half of each romantic coupling. Perhaps that is why there were times I just craved more of a deeper connection from the characters and between the couples.

None the less, this story rewards romance readers with double the sexy times.

“‘It means they’re off to do some royal fucking.’”

The steam factor is high and the love scenes don’t disappoint. Nor does the action adventure storyline as this book is largely plot driven.

What I deducted a major point for was the misleading blurb that clearly stated, “A BRAND-NEW STAND-ALONE CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE.” To be clear, this is NOT a stand-alone. The story continues with A Player for a Princess that won’t be released till September. Now I’m not opposed to reading continuing stories provided I know that’s what I’m getting upfront, but I am opposed to being duped by marketing sell points that promise the story can be read by itself. So keep in mind when going into this one that the story is not complete with many plot points unresolved. The format actually appears to be more of a serial series as it ends largely on a cliffhanger, and how many books are involved before getting the complete tale is unclear.

All in all, the premise has a lot of potential. I honestly liked the guys and Ava much more than I cared for or about Zee so I’m rather on the fence about continuing with the series. But if you’re looking for a sexy, action-adventure tale with intrigue and don’t mind the wait between installments, then this is definitely one to check out.

*ARC received in exchange for an honest review/release tour on 5-17-16. There were a few continuity errors where the characters contradicted things they either previously said or was already established, but this may simply be due to reading an unedited ARC copy.

“I like that you see me as a man first. You’re not looking for anything. You don’t have an agenda.”

WOW! This book took me on a such a journey and this review is not going to be super long because of everything involved I want you to be able to experience the same twists and turns that I did.

‘I never expected MacCallum Lockwood Tate. Even if I had, I would never have been prepared for him.’

I don’t know if this will make sense to you all but this entire book read like a movie in my head with scenes playing out in my head vividly. Full of romance, desire, mystery and action, this was a book that had me constantly flipping pages to see what would happen next. With four main people making two couples but only two POVs the storytelling in The Prince & The Player was incredibly refreshing and unique.

‘He’s so dirty. Who knew I’d be so turned on by his wicked mouth.’

Down on their luck sisters Ava and Zee are brought in to manipulate the crown prince Rowan in a scheme to help an exiled Duke. But the two sisters never intended to fall for the heir and his brother the prince, Cal. While so many lies and manipulation take place from the sisters, Zee (a con-artist) and Ava (a pick pocket), I still could not help but feel for them and the situation that is forced upon them. My heart felt for these two but it is another part of all together that loved Rowan and Cal. These are two deviously sexy princes who are wildly protective and refuse to give up the women they love without a fight. While Rowan was sweet, Cal is wickedly sexy and I love him so so so much.

“I had sex with a king. Correction, I had sex with the king. I pretty much spent the entire night last night having orgasms. Can you believe it?”

Let me end this review by stating that yes, this is part one in a duet BUT no it does not have a bad cliffy at all. The end makes it clear that HEAs are happening and several loose ends tied up. For once when reading a duet I did not curse the author. It is clear that Tia Louise made every effort to give you an HEA with knowing that there are still issues that need resolving and plot developments that need exploring. I am eager for the next book but just because I want more of this group especially Cal who stole my heart completely.

4.5 Smooches

Favorite Quotes:

“America doesn't have royalty. They have reality TV."

"I'd like to see that old bat find anyone sweeter than my little sister, even if Ava might steal your watch."

My Review:

The Prince & The Player brings a different style than I have found in the past from reading Ms. Tia Louise, although her trademark humor and steamy sensual scenes continue to shine through. The story is brimming with action and all types of deception including sabotage, espionage, political intrigue, assassination plots, scandal, shams, scams, kidnapping, blackmail, and government overthrow. While two separate sweet and sexy love stories are blooming in the midst of all this adventure. Oh my yes! Yet I continued to have mixed feelings about two of the main characters all the way through as they were con artists, users, thieves - and had been performing shady acts and scams for years. But the worst thing of all has happened, I am rapidly spitting invectives and stamping my little foot over a heinous cliffhanger... which are just horrible and evil occurrences in any book!

I definitely believe that The Prince & The Player is a good novel. And I respect it. However, I just don't think it was the novel for me(refer to my full review for reasons why). That being said, I think that if someone else were to read it and it was their type of novel then they would love it. So in this case, it is a me not the book kind of thing.

I LOVED this book! It was cute and fun, but it also was able to invoke many emotions. When I seen this book marked as Cinderalla meets Ocean’s Eleven I HAD to read it! But to me, instead of Ocean’s Eleven, it reminded me of Heartbreakers (I LOVE that movie!) more. It is one of those books that would be perfect to devour on a beach or on your summer vacation. This is one of the very few books that will be going on my re-read pile so I can re-visit it again!

This is my first book by Tia Louise and I loved her writing style. It was simple and allowed the story to flow well. The story was also told in a very interesting and unique way. The plot revolves around four characters, that of course become coupled, and alternates POV’s between one character from each couple. I am interested if the POV’s will include the other two characters in the next book or even switch POV’s to the characters that were not featured in this book. Either way, it defiantly made this book stand out from other contemporary romances out there.

I fell in love with these characters, particularly Zee and Cal! The main characters are two sets of siblings, Cal and Rowan & Zee and Ava. These siblings were complete opposites in every way! Rowan was serious and overly protective, while Cal was laid back, spontaneous and fun. Zee was independent, self-sufficient and did what she had to do to survive. Ava was the complete opposite and I really had a hard time liking her character. She seemed so naïve, innocent and helpless. Whenever she talked or did anything, I always thought of her as a child, which really affected the way I viewed the romance she was involved in. I am hoping that in the next book, her character grows substantially.

I did like the two romances in this story, but I did love one more than the other. I don’t really want to mention how these characters are paired because it may be considered a slight spoiler. I was invested in both of the relationships and wanted to see happy endings for all the characters involved. I have never read a book that focused on multiple romances before, but I want to try some more in the future.

I really loved this book and cannot wait to pick up the sequel. Tia Louise is an author I hope to be able to read more from in the future. I love the way she weaves a story that is full of suspense and romance. This book is one that will defiantly make it on my favorite books of 2017 list!
