Bill Palmer is an experienced photographer and regular traveller who is based in “Sunny Frimley” in Surrey. He calls himself a"Gentleman Amateur", creating more for enjoyment than for personal gain.

Bill started using Fuji X cameras and lenses seven years ago because they suited his needs better as a travelling photographer; Guy Miller, the hero of the Queen's Wayfarer series, follows the same logic - the only difference is that Guy's cameras have additional, very useful features...

Today, Bill creates under the pseudonym “Lightmancer”. In his daily life he is an experienced and well-travelled entrepreneur and creative innovator; he runs two start-ups and is on the board of a third. He spent thirty years in the big corporate world and he now describes that period as his “apprenticeship”.

He is a published author, award-winning photographer, Rotarian and Freeman of the City of London. Bill practices Tai Chi, speaks a little Italian and messes about occasionally with a bass guitar. He was the driving force behind the original Leica Forum Book raising thousands of pounds for cancer research.

You can find more of his photography at Lightmancer.uk and on Instagram and his thrillers are sold through Amazon.

Its a great second book in the Wayfarers series. There is no let up in the pace, and the characters are broadened and given added depth after the first outing, and remains in keeping with the authors obvious interest in weapons, cameras and technology. The plot twists and turns but without you ever really exclaiming "oh come on" or "what?" - you know the world is split into goodies and baddies, and you do not wait long for the next time they clash. This is perfect sitting out, enjoying the sunshine, and binge reading it from cover-to-cover.... which is what I did

I haven’t read the first in the series but this stood well on its own. A fast paced spy thriller reminiscent of James Bond stories. This kept me interested in finding out what happened next. I appreciated how the different nations were seen striving against each other but were also able to cooperate in different ways.

I received this through a Goodreads giveaway - thank you!
