Edgerton is a wonderful anthropologist. Any of his books are worth reading. Nearly 50 years after its publication, this is still a valuable examination of why humans break rules and customs individually and in society. I'd love to see an update given more recent discoveries in neuroscience and genetics. Regardless, it is an interesting and insightful little book!
