This is the story of Leo Alvarez, retired marine and agent for the FBI who is just starting a much needed vacation to Hawaii when he gets a call from his partner asking for a favour to protect a pastry chef in New York as it seems the mob maybe after her and Leo is the closest agent.
McKenzie Harper has been working hard to get her place as a sous chef and nothing is going to stand in her way, not even the sexy FBI agent or the mob who are after her. But when she is kidnaped by three masked strangers she realises the situation she is really in and needs Leo’s help more than ever.
This had a whole lot action mixed with some suspense and a nice bit of romance between these two, while trying to avoid be captured there journey together was awhole learning experience for them both.
This was the third and final book in the series and I would recommend reading the first two books, just to get to know all these really great characters.
Look forward to reading more from Kay Marie.

This was an entirely adorable spy, thief, secret agent type series. The books revolve around three email chat friends that are into baking but they've never met in person . Unbeknownst to them their lives are so different - it's laughable. One is a hacker/thief and daughter of wanted art forger. One is a sweet small town baker and the last is a chef.
They each end up involved in plots that revolve around the thief and art forger. They each end up with a love interest and a lot of adventures and an HEA.
Great series! I truly enjoyed it.

Perfect full circle series ending
This is a perfect ending to an excellent series.
Leo is everything I was hoping for and then some - a bit goofy and sarcastic, a lot protective and a little bit damaged. MacKenzie also exceeds my expectations. She's not a bit up tight, a bit in her own way, a lot egotistical in some ways but really struggling in others. She is a good example of why this series works well for me -its not all unicorns and bunny fluff, but it's not all evil darkness and twisted craziness. It's well balanced and thoughtful.
We get small dabbles of Jo and Nate but book 3 is strongly focused on Leo and Mackenzie. We know everyone is in their places but they don't steal the show away from the FMC and MMC.
We get the larger story wrap up but a good antagonist twist as well. The pacing is good, the quality of editing is high. All in all it's an excellent end to a high quality series.
This is a perfect ending to an excellent series.

I've read all three books in this series now and I have to say that I think Kay Marie was saving the best until last. Not that I didn't really enjoy the previous books in the series, I did, but this one was even better and I enjoyed the romance between the two main characters immensely.
This time we had the story of Leo and McKenzie. They both seem themselves as damaged and I think that this was what helped the connection between them grow. I have to admit that I have a bit of a soft spot for romances that start out with a bit of conflict and a love-hate dynamic. Leo and McKenzie take a great deal of pleasure in winding one another up and I really enjoyed that side to their relationship.
This was a great read and a great finish to the series. I loved reading all about each couple, if you haven't read the other books yet, then give them a go. This one does work as a stand-alone novel though, so if you want to dive right in here, go for it. It's a good read and I honestly don't think that you will regret it.

I have absolutely loved Leo ever since To Catch a Thief when he started singing along with If you wanna be my lover by Spice Girls when they were spying on Jo. Sorry for the slight spoiler there, but if you are reading book three reviews, I am assuming you have read the first book, or are considering this series. This is a small spoiler anyway.
I fell in love with Leo even more after his introduction in the first chapter of the book. He’s just so smooth with the ladies and I just LOVE him, that whole first chapter just made me smile. And I liked following this story after that as well. I liked McKenzie because she was quick to think on her feet despite the situation she was in and her and Leo had some pretty good bantering lines.
I didn’t want this book to end because I think this is the last one in this series and I didn’t want to say goodbye to Leo. I will have to reread this series whenever I need my Leo fix now! Thank you Kay Marie for writing this book series. They were fun and unique overall. I have enjoyed following this series journey.

I so enjoyed this the last installment of the To Catch a Thief series! Leo is one of my favorite characters in these tales. From the moment he accepts a cronut from Jo – much to Nate's chagrin – I have adored Leo. (Okay, even before that; but especially when he grabs a cronut from the box!) I was happy to see that he got his own book in this delightful trilogy.
McKenzie, on the other hand, was for some reason not at all what I expected. I was glad that we could peer into her thought process with the alternating dual perspective of the writing style. Because at face value, she just seemed like a totally rude and obnoxious person.
But both Leo and McKenzie have internal demons that they battle, unbeknownst to people on the outside looking in on their lives. Although coming at things from vastly different experiences and perspectives, they somehow sense a kindred spirit in each other. It does take them quite awhile to let down their defenses with one another, but eventually they do.
Unfortunately, while they are trying to navigate the complexities of a brand new relationship, the rest of the world seems to be exploding around them. The action starts off pretty quickly with an actual kidnapping, and doesn't slow down much from there. The interwoven plot points make for quite the intrigue and entertainment.
There were a few times where the story dragged a bit, and some things that just seemed rather unnecessary or strange. Most of their time at the wedding, for example, was just weird. I kept waiting for Russian mofiosos to crash the whole thing.
After everything seems to be over and done, the mystery solved – there are still twists and turns to be had. Everything falls into place in retrospect, but it is no wonder that it takes the good guys awhile to figure out what the bad guys are up to – or even who they are.
McKenzie does prove herself a tough and brave person finally, Leo does end up being a hero, and they eventually do get their happily-ever-after. Which is only fitting, given that this is the end of the line for these characters. Definitely a book and a series that I recommend for those looking for some light adventure, intrigue, humor, romance and fun!

This third installment of To Catch A Thief series, focuses on Jo’s friend Mckenzie, better known as @TheGourmetGoddess. As you know from the previous books is that Jo, known as @TheBakingBandit is a hacker, inspiring baker, turned good girl. What we also know is that Jo’s former life is not quite tied up and clean yet. Because she is telling the feds everything about her father’s business, she now has some nasty Russians invading her life.
In the last book Stolen Goods, the Russians went after her sweet friend Ella, wedding cake decorator extraordinaire, also known as @Sprinkle-Ella, in order to get to Jo’s partner Thad. Well now it looks like they now focusing their sights on McKenzie. So Jo’s fed boyfriend Nate calls his pal and partner Leo in to play baby sitter.
When McKenzie meets Leo she is immediately thrown into a past that she has tried hard not to let control her life. She is always in control and nothing is going to stop her from becoming the youngest top pastry chef in New York. Not even her own kidnapping. But sometimes the past doesn’t stay buried.
This book was a non stop thrilling adventure. There were so many twists that it will make your head spin. But hey a little spinning makes it all worth while, especially when there is a hot Latin fed to save the day.
Leo is an amazing guy, with a hero complex. Always saving everyone and never expecting anything in return. Even if he deserves the world and so much more. But Leo has a past as well. A past that haunts his dreams at night and causes panic. But I believe with the right woman, he can heal.
Together this duo face some tough challenges and come out on top. But it’s is no walk in the park. The danger level is high and the attraction is an explosion of heat. Guaranteed to make you hold on to the edge of your seat in anticipation.
If you love the whole knight in shining armor vibe, with a twist of cops and robbers, then this book is perfect for you. Now if you want to dare to read as a standalone you may, but you will enjoy the story more if you get the whole story starting from book one Hot Pursuit. I have to say this one was close to my favorite, book one.

The was no compensation for this review.Off the Grid is the third book in the To Catch a Thief trilogy. It centers on the couple, Leo Alvarez (Nate's, from book one, partner) and McKenzie Harper (Jo's second baking buddy). It is a battle of the wits meets a woodsy expedition. And it's filled with laughs.I had always liked Leo even in book one so when I found out his book was the third, I had to jump in. From reading it, I fell for him even more. The playful teasing exterior is only made more interesting with the strong and troubled interior. Here is a guy who struggles hard to give the shirt off his back, protect, and provide without asking for anything in return. It's the kind of personality that had me falling for my husband, so clearly, Leo and I are meant to be.McKenzie starts off seeming like this closed individual with OCD tendencies and a very New Yorker attitude. They are... at least in media... a more jaded group of people. Stern. In control. Not in the mood to deal with BS and has no problem dishing out the sarcasm. And though I am not New Yorker, I can get behind that with McKenzie. I understand her. I can be like her at times.I too, McKenzie, think that squirrels are the assholes of nature (I absolutely loved that moment).I think you can see where I'm getting at. This book, though completely different from my own love life, resonates well with me.All in all, this is the perfect ending to a fun trilogy. I am definitely a fan of Kay Marie and plan on reading more in the future.Final Rating: 4/5

Enjoyable escape
I'm glad Leo got his own book in which to shine, he and Mackenzie are a great match!
I enjoyed the twists in the plot and the connections to the other two books and their characters (no spoilers, but the last connection was clever).
I really like this sequel/continuation of a wider plot with different characters, as opposed to a spin-off sorry where you never see the old characters again.
This was a lovely ending to a thoroughly enjoyable series. I'm hoping more authors dig into the very enjoyable genre of action romcom! 😁
I appreciate the sense and rationality that went into this trilogy — the characters are smart and relatable and react realistically to their situations. They were deep, flawed, and dealt with some heavy subjects, but it never felt preachy or cheesy.
And with book trends the way they are at the moment, I'm always happy and relieved to come across a story that is undoubtedly romantic and swoony but isn't gross or explicitly detailed. 🙌
I suppose it there was anything I didn't like it was how uptight Mackenzie could be; how their backgrounds felt sometimes like a competition (personally, there's was no competition: Leo was the "winner" for worse backstory. Poor guy); and how there wasn't a moment with all six together at the end, just chilling and being friends.

This book was fun with a capital F. I sped right through it and got to the end and wished it wasn’t time to say goodbye to these baking crazy friends. After 3 books I’m definitely going to miss them because I almost felt like one of the girls for a second there.

Our hero is an FBI agent who has been sent to look out for his partner’s girlfriend’s best friend (who may or may not be in trouble). Our heroine is a pastry chef who doesn’t want the FBI agent getting in her neat and ordered way. Unfortunately for her neat and ordered life, she gets kidnaped but thankfully our hero is on the chase to get her back!

Yes this book scrimped on the sex a little with some fade to black action but the chemistry was still definitely there! I enjoyed seeing the ice princess heroine who lives a rigid and ordered life (I feel this on a deep level 😂) melt for the FBI agent who was a born protector but really a marshmallow inside. They had fun while running and hiding (seriously? this was actually awesome) and was lighthearted. My favourite book of the series!

Kay Marie's writing and characters get better and better with each new book!
Leo was so much fun in Jo and Nate's book, and I like that he was paired with McKenzie. They come from very different backgrounds and each had hardships in their lives, but both have worked to become successful in their field. Leo is kind-hearted, funny, and I really liked getting to know him better. There was a lot more depth to him than I initially thought.
McKenzie isn't close to anyone - except Jo and Addy. She is smart, dedicated to her work, and stronger than most people know. You can really see her growth as the book progresses.
There's definitely some suspense and mystery, but the friendship, romance, and fun are not forgotten. This can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the first two books in the series before this one to get the full effect!

The third book in this wonderful series and we finally get a book all about Leo We have met him in previous books and I was waiting patiently for him to star in his own right I wasn't disappointed

Mackenzie is a pastry chef who lives her lives by the rules and her friendship with Jo has put her firmly in the sites of The Russians and it will be up to Leo to keep her safe. That is is he doesn't kill her himself These two wind one another up from the very first meeting and it never stops This is a great fun read and a perfect ending to this wonderful series.

I love love love this story! It grabbed me at page one and didn't let go until the very end. Fast paced plot, snarky repartee, with well-rounded characters. I appreciated seeing so much of their back history because it explained their reactions now. I really love Leo and McKenzie.
I hope the author does a fourth book with all six of them.
Stand alone HEA, but so so much better having read the first two books. It was fun to see characters from those books in this one, especially how the story for all three women wrapped up at the end.

Off the Grid, book three in the To Catch a Thief series, follows FBI agent Leo Alvarez, partner to Nate from the other books in this series, as well as Jolene’s friend, and fellow baker, McKenzie Harper. When Leo takes the job of watching over McKenzie he wasn’t expecting her to be so difficult and stand-offish, but when she needs him, Leo is there to help her. Can McKenzie push aside her feelings of not being in charge long enough to work with Leo, instead of against him? And when the pair begin to work together, will they be able to keep things platonic, ir give in to the feelings starting to grow between them?

Happens simultaneously as the second book, immediately following the events of the first. Best of the series!!!! Loved the MFC - she’s my favorite of the three (Jo, Addy, McKenzie.) This novel really tied up the previous two. While all three love stories happen WAY too quickly, imo, this one is lightyears better than the first - on par with the second though. Again, definitely the best of the trilogy! Also, while still just as predictable from page 1 as the other two novels, this one had a small twist. It was obvious what the twist would be within the first couple chapters, but it was still a nice surprise considering the cookie cutter formula of the first two books.

This was my favourite book of the series! Loved Leo and McKenzie as characters and I really enjoyed their story.
Their insecurities and past experiences really pull you in and make for complex characters.
The story follows the same formula as the previous two books but there’s just something about these two that I liked more.
It is a fade to black series but if you like cute romances, thrilling adventures, enjoyable characters and happy endings I think you could enjoy this series!

A great read. Leo is sent to protect her. But will she let him. McKenzie is a baker, and doesn't like surprises,. Will they end up working there differences out. This read grabs you right from the first page. There is alot of great humor in this read. The Author has made the Characters out so great that you get to know them as you read. I was given this read. You won't want to put this book down its a real page turner. If you love a mystery this is a great read.

Off The Grid by Kay Marie was a fun and emotional ending to the To Catch A Thief series. I enjoyed McKenzie and Leo’s banter and how they both help each other grow. The way they support each other about their past traumas’ was great. I couldn’t get enough of Leo, he was so swoony! I liked that while this book was not as connected to the Russian Mob case as the other two, it was still connected and in a manner that I hadn’t seen coming.

I think this was my favorite of the three books in this series. I loved learning more about Leo. I liked him in the other books but really enjoyed getting to know his character better. And McKenzie was also great. The part about Jo’s dad forging documents that out McKenzie’s dad in prison was pretty predictable. As soon as forged documents were mentioned I knew Jo’s father was going to be involved but overall great book. Would definitely read more by this author.

The ice queen and the marine turned class clown were meant to be. Or were they? The third book was better than the second but not the first. The banter in this book is to die for! I kinda wish Leo’s story would have been book two. If you’re looking for a picture perfect ending to a series, you won’t find it in this book. However, I definitely recommend the series to anyone in a reading slump. It is short, silly, and so fun to read!

Excellent end for a fun series
So often, with connected books in general and romantic suspense in particular, the characters or stories end up blurring or following well-worn paths. Not so with this series. Yes, there's a HEA, but there are plenty of puzzles and pitfalls along the way. This was a very enjoyable series.

Good Book
That s was another Good Book. I So sad to see it end. Too bad Jo's dad can come back to life!! LOL That would be another Good story. All of them get a go at the mystery together. Wouldn't that be funny. But, this book was Good.

Short sweet a bit boring some times but then all action in another's parts.
It was a slow but good read

a fast-paced thriller with sweet romantic moments and loads of banter. nothing quite like a jungle escapade in an abandoned lake house amidst threats and explosions. Off the Grid is a closed-door book, my favourite from this series, followed by hot pursuit and stolen goods.

This was by far my favourite of the series and had me blushing and giggling! There were moments when I laughed out loud - Michael Jackson specifically
I wish I got an epilogue that showed all three of the girls interacting after they opened the business but regardless, I loved it

The final baker! And what a different experience for her than her everyday life. A cute end to the series and I enjoyed the banter and the time they spent on the run together. Overall cute. Probably my favorite of the three.

An entertaining HEA
The main characters ' verbal sparring was fun to read. This is a closed door HEA with a few swear words sprinkled throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed this 3=book series. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

I need more
This can't be the end. I need more. Even if it's just a bonus in an email. All three couples need some bonus chapters of life after this book. It just ended and I have so many questions. It's still 5 stars cause it's amazing.

An easy read because it's so well written. These two will test your patience but they're certainly interesting. And the whole trilogy comes together in the most natural way.
Kudos to this author. She makes telling writing a tale... seems so easy.
