Matsuri had a nice Christmas date with Asahi-sempai, and also spent some lovey-dovey time with him during New Year's. During the new school term, Matsuri gave Asahi-sempai a trip as a birthday present. There wasn't anyone else at the inn they stayed at, so the two of them more or less had the whole place to themselves. There, they took a bath together, further intensifying the feelings they have for each other...!! However, as Asahi-sempai's high school graduation drew near, Matsuri learned that he might have to move somewhere far away. Just what will happen to those two?! Will they be able to stay together, or will they have to part ways...?!
It's a cute manga. I think it was rushed a bit toward the end. I think there could have been another volume or two. I would definitely read another manga by this author.
There were only a few thing that bugged me. One being that it seemed odd she never met Asahi before. Did her brother and him just meet a third year's? It seemed like they were pretty close.
Also, there was never a meeting between her parents, and they seemed pretty chill about her spending the night with him even though she's only 15/16.
This is the final volume of Asahi-sempai's Favorite. I read this volume with my friend Dani (The Panda Post). We had a nice discussion about it, and shared a lot of the same feelings. It's a cute final volume with minimal drama about going away to college. I won't say too much more about that. The ending was rushed and a little predictable, but overall this is a solid cute Shoujo romance series. If you're in the mood for something fun, I'd recommend it.
The ML, Asahi, was extremely jarring at first but I decided to continue because the FL was technically consenting to all his creepy acts and I was wondering how he’d redeem himself but he was so loyal and actually able to become more considered and respectful of her once they made it official so it was overall a cute wholesome(ish) story. Not sure if I would recommend it though like I enjoyed reading and hating it the dude but there’s so many better stories out there.
I wanted to like this series because of the artwork and reviews i saw, but i was unable to because the ML spent most of the series sexually assaulting the main character. He's predatory and the consent always seems dubious. Her second love interest was her college aged cousin (she's 15) and that also threw me off.
I give this series a 3/5. Don’t expect anything “deep” here. No back stories or anything dark. That can be a good thing if you’re just looking to pass some time and not be destroyed mentally LOL
The ending was so filled with fluff that I didn't actually recognize any plot. I also didn't care for the fact that Matsuri doesn't have any character development in regards to what she wants to do with her life. Also, what is Asahi even going to school for? Where were the parents?
I laughed; I cringed (buy it so you can see why); I absolutely adored this series. Can't wait to get my hands on the next works by this author! Great job!
I ended up buying the 7 volumes because I was curious after reading v1. It is entertaining and an easy read if you have a free weekend, but it is the bottom of my list for shoujo to recommend.
Chapters 25 - 28: This volume wrapped the series up with a decent epilogue although it would have been nice if it was a little longer. It was still a good series and I enjoyed it overall.
