Wild Love

Head down south to Winchester Wild Ranch where the nights are steamy, the cowboys are smokin', and it's always a wild ride.
A heartfelt, second chance, small-town romance from USA Today bestselling author Carmen Jenner.

Twelve years ago, Lemon Winchester traded her cowgirl boots for Manolos and fled Red River Canyon for New York without so much as a glance in her rearview.

When tragedy strikes, Lemon returns to Winchester Wild Ranch, back to the little town she left so many years ago, back to the house that holds too many memories, and back to her overbearing, madcap family.

But not everyone is happy to see her.

Colton Hayes has worked Winchester land since he was old enough to ride a horse. For as long as he can remember, his future only ever involved one person—Lemon Winchester—his best friend’s little sister. But it’s hard to marry the girl next door when she runs off in the middle of the night without so much as a goodbye.

She’s back and he’s bitter.

They once shared a love capable of scalding even the most brutal Texas summer, but the ranch is no longer big enough for them both, especially when those old feelings begin to resurface.

Lemon is every bit as infuriating as the day he fell in love with her, but Colt knows better than anyone that you can’t rope in Winchester wild. That woman will be the death of him … assuming her brothers don’t kill him first.

ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.

This was a really nice and easy read from Carmen Jenner. There was a little bit of angst, but not too much. For me, it was the curiosity of knowing what had happened in the past between Lemon and Colt. Damn was I curious to find that out.

I liked both of them as main characters and I really liked the secondary characters as well, even if they were sometimes quite frustrating. I think their stories will be interesting and fun once we get those as well.

The only thing I will say is, that I did take me a little while to get used to reading the name Winchester, because all I could think about was Sam and Dean from the TV show Supernatural. And the name Colton Hayes, very similar to the actor from the TV show Arrow, Colton Haynes. So yeah, it took me a little while to adjust and try not to constantly think about those things. Thats more of a personal issue though of course.

Overall, this was a fun and easy read, and I definitely look forward to more from this series.

It’s a fantastic cowboy romance that ticked all my boxes. Best friend’s little sister, second chance & plenty of heat. It’s witty, it’s fun & it’s definitely sweet. I absolutely loved it!

“Because I was dying to get out, and you were determined to stay.”

Lemon made New York her new home. Owner of a gallery, she worked hard to get everything she achieved. Living a beautiful life, she will have two unpleasant surprises on the same night. But only one of them will have the power to hurt her.
Back in her hometown and at her family's ranch after 12 years, the tragedy that brought her back home will change not only her life, but everyone who was left behind. But in addition to facing the loss of a loved one and trying to fit back into a family she has abandoned, the past she tried to forget reappears with full force. In the beautiful shape of a cowboy who still has the power to baffle her.
Colton is experiencing a mixture of joy and anger at Lemon's return. Abandoned by her, he tried to move on, but never forgot her. In a small town where everyone knows each other, the story of these two was marked as the favorite subject of the gossips.
And what was supposed to be a brief stay ends up becoming a journey in search of self-discovery. And maybe Lemon finally realizes that what she always wants, has always been right in front of her.
Alternating past and present, the narrative will fit together to show the reader what really happened to these two to separate them. Mixing a little drama with romance and even family matters, the book focuses on the impact on everyone's life with Lemon’s decision.
A good read, with well-built characters, a strong narrative, impactful moments and a happy ending.

This book was so sweet!! I was instantly hooked within just a few pages, I could not put it down at all. You can't go wrong with a book full of hot cowboys! I just loved it. This book was so so SO good! The writing flowed beautifully, and I was swooning all over the place for Colt.

Colt was such a sweet guy. He had all these manners, and every time he said "Yes, Ma'am" I was putty in his hands. There is just something about a cowboy using all those manners! It's winter here and he had me burning up! And once you got him behind closed doors...holy cow...was he even hotter! Sweet cowboy on the streets, but nice and rough between the sheets! I felt for him though, where his father and West were concerned. Lemon was so feisty! She would not let her brothers walk all over her. She had the nickname Winchester Wild for a reason! These two together, well they just burned so hot. The second chance angst, and all the pain between them just made the moment they came together again more explosive.

I did have a tear or two while reading this book. It was such a heartfelt, emotional read. It just made it all the more better for me. I do hope we get to see Wyatt have his own book, I am so intrigued there!!

You guys don't even think about buying this one. Just do it. Don't hesitate, one click and you will fall as in love with Colt and Lemon as I did. Lemon and Colt have history. She has been in love with him from an early age and he is four years older than her. They use to have to sneak around and their meeting place was under a huge oak tree on the farm. But events happened and she left in the middle of the night twelve years ago and hasn't really talked to anyone at home much at all, and especially hasn't been in touch with Colt. He is the last person she wants to talk about since leaving was in her mind the best thing she could do for both of them. Now she is in New York, the proud owner of her own art gallery where she displays and sells her paintings and someone just bought each and everyone of them there was to buy. She is so excited and there is no one she wants to celebrate with more than her fiance who is what you and I would call beyond wealthy but he is also not expecting Lemon to come home early and she catches him and her best friend in bed together. Not ten minutes later she gets a call from her brother that will wreck her world and send her running home as fast as she can get there. When she get there though not everyone is happy to see her. Not her oldest brother who is such a meanie and Colt isn't to thrilled either. Now you have to get the book and see what happens. I have told you enough of the story. I will tell you that this is a must read. One of my favorite of 2020. I could have spent days and days lost in Lemon and Colt and Winchester Ranch. This is the first book in this series and it is a standalone but I can not wait to see whose story we get next. I am sure it is one of Lemon's brothers story and I so an not wait to read it too. This is a book I devoured so be ready to not be able to put it down. In true Carmen Jenner fashion she is going to steal your heart, make you laugh, shed a tear or two and leave you with a big old smile on your face.

ARC received from author for an honest review

Yay, a new Carmen Jenner, and a great start to a new series.

This book gave me a couple of vibes. Lemonade (Lemon) gave me vibes of Reese Witherspoon's character in Sweet Home Alabama. And with our main man being Colton Hayes, well,I just couldn't help but picture Colton Haynes riding that horse (and wearing those Wranglers!)

This is a lot sweeter and happier (most the time) than what Ms Jenner has given us in the past. Yes, there is some baggage they need to work through, however they do it well.

Lemon is sweet and sassy and feisty. And stubborn. Colt is hurting and stubborn and you can't help but adore him.

There is some brothers that I am not sure if I love or hate at the moment (except one whom I abso-fricking-lutely adore). I know I am going to get their stories. They are gonna drive their mama mad I reckon!

I cant wait for more. Please don't make me wait too long Ms Jenner

What a great start to a new series by Carmen Jenner. This book was so fun to read, it was sassy, sweet, sexy and down right adorable. It is a little different to what some of her fans might come to expect, as there is no dark, twisted or kinky theme, but it goes to show how diverse of an author she is, when she can write in any genre and create a hit.

This series is about the Winchester family and their farm in Texas. The first book concentrates on Lemonade and her childhood ex boyfriend Colton Hayes. Lemon flees the farm at age eighteen and only returns twelve years later when something tragic happens at the farm. She leaves behind her art gallery and finds not everyone has open arms to see her back. Especially Colt, who has been harbouring so many feelings since she's been gone.

I love a good second chance romance. I like that they already know each other and how they tick, but also that there was a reason for the split in the first place. As it is told in dual pov's, we get to know what each is thinking but Lemon is a little firecracker at times, so everyone knows what she is thinking! We alternate between past and present and discover what happened to make Lemon leave so quickly to head to New York. And I have to admit, I saw some of it coming, not all, and it still bought tears to my eyes on how this poor eighteen year old must have felt. Colt too was heartbroken in so many ways back then, and it is hard for him not to be bitter. His grand gesture... what he had planned all along.. oh my he is such a sweetheart!

Being a series, there is obviously a few books yet to come from the Winchester's. One I am anxious to find out more from is West, the eldest brother. I feel when he falls, he is going to fall hard and not without some challenges along the way, which will make for dynamic reading. Can not wait.

I do love a romance that has you finishing with a happy sigh and that's exactly what Lemonade and Colton's story did.

It took me a while to get my head around the character's name, to be honest, and I still didn't like it and couldn't warm to it but I did enjoy the story.

Lemon has been brought up in a small town and is a country farm girl who fell in love with her brother's best friend when she was just seventeen.
Lemon had dreams of going to the big city and that's what she did leaving Colton behind.

Twelve years later following her father's death Lemon returns home and her first contact is with her ex Colton. It's a frosty reception not just from Colton but from some of her brothers too who didn't agree with the way she took off all those years ago.

A good story about two people who never should have separated in the first place. A second chance romance with no heavy drama's. I loved Colton who is a swoon-worthy hot sexy cowboy.

I'm looking forward to more in this series Lemon has brothers and that has me excited to know that there may be more sexy cowboys to come.

Such a sweet and heartfelt romance! Lemon Winchester left home on Winchester Wild Ranch to tackle the NYC’s art scene, but when an accident happens 12 years later she must go home. Going back is difficult for more than the one she has lost. Lemon also has to confront the one she left behind, Colton Hayes. Can Colton forgive her for running off all those years ago? She’s Feisty and he is angry. It’s either a recipe for disaster or an epic comeback! Both are stubborn, however they may just be what the other needs to heal. This was a beautiful story of lose and second chances. My heart broke for all Colt and Lemon have been through. I’m excited to see what happens with the other characters we met. Told in the past and present so you understand their full story. Dual POV.

I had just finished a long and emotional book so i was excited to dive straight into this cowboy 2nd chase romance.

I loved both Colton and Lemon they were both feisty characters who fought their feelings throughout the book and it was so funny and emotional i stages.

I love how we go back and find out what happened to these two when they were younger and the reasons why Lemon basically ran away.

I loved being back on a Ranch i haven’t read a cowboy book in so long and Carmen Jenner did a fantastic job with this story.

If you want something that is light but emotional and a hell of story with fantastic characters this is the one for you and i can’t wait for me stories from the Winchester’s

Sweet and Wild by Carmen Jenner was just such a delightful read. Lemon left home in the middle of the night years ago and has not been back. She is full of sass, smart and stubborn.
Colt knows Lemon is the one for him but he is hurt after she left. Tragedy brought her back, but can love be enough to make her stay? I have to say I loved all the characters in this story, even though who were not originally happy she was back. I am so excited to continue this reading this series! Colt and Lemon’s story was so sweet, a bit angst and so worth the read!

“ spoiler alert don’t read this comment if you have t read”
Carmen Jenner please tell me you have a
Cowboy M/M following this book?”
At first I was finding something different about this book, then I realised it’s another side of CJ
My thoughts are it’s totally different to Taint To Sugartown and MC, but it still has that kickstart feisty female character , but best if all it has a man who has never loved another woman since and hasn’t wanted anyone in his “ fat ccok” since Lemonade, ran out. An honestly admits to it right from the time he steps out of house into the porch when she turns up
Psst good on her for keeping the Ferrari, I myself would have taken the jewellery and the clothes, sold them and shouted everyone at the pub 🤣 ❤️
I think there is so much more for CJ to introduce us to in this series
Can’t wait

Sweet and wild is definitely a beautiful and emotional read! Lemon and Colt have a complicated past but in order to figure out the future they need to mend the broken fences of their fractured hearts!

I love Jenner’s ability to create such a strong, fierce heroine who has a big vulnerable heart! She’s such a layered character and I love to see that! She’s not some shallow female! She’s just a lost soul who needs to be reminded of what home truly is!

Colt now he’s a man I wish I could pluck from the book! He loves Lemon in a way that’s hard to describe but the hurt had hardened his heart and he is doing all he can to not repeat past mistakes!

An amazing story that had me laughing and crying! I loved every word of this book and can’t wait to visit this little southern town again!

Sweet and Wild for Sure

Carmen Jenner is a one-click author for me. I love her books. Whether they are really long or short that captivate me and suck me in. Sweet and Wild is one of the sweetest stories I have read. It has everything. She just draws you in then you fond yourself losing sleep to read it. I loved this book. I felt like I was right in the thick of it on the farm. The story is told in both the past and present.

Lemon Winchester is as sassy as they come. She is the only girl with three brothers. She had a love that everything thought would the be all end all. In the end, she left the ranch for the big city life in New York and hasn’t been back in twelve years. She has her own art gallery and races home to surprise her fiance and gets a surprise instead. Then, tragedy strikes and she is on her way back home. When she gets home she realizes just how much has changed since she was last there.

Colton Hayes has never forgotten his Lemonade Winchester. He works at the Winchester farm with his best friends and brothers to Lemon. They all grew up together. She is the love of his life and will never love another. He is so sweet and has a big heart.

These two made me laugh and smile. I loved all the people in this book. They were so fun. Momma Winchester raised herself a good bunch of southern kids and their friend Colt as well. Lemon’s reason for running made my heart break a little. Now, these two have passion and lust, and a great friendship. It’s everything all rolled into one great package. Their chemistry is jumping off the pages. Even though they aren’t close anymore they still have that connection. Lemon hasn’t forgotten what ahrd work is or how to do her farming.

Sweet and Wild is exactly the title. These Winchesters are so great. They may fight, squabble, and tease, but they love just as hard. I classify Colton a Winchester was well. I really liked this book and I lost a bit of sleep for it. I started it late and simply could not put it down. I look forward to the next installment. We have three brothers to read about. Hopefully, that will get me more Lemon and Colt.

What a sweet little story about a second chance romance set on a ranch in a small town.

This story is told in dual POV from Lemon and Colt. We start with a bang with Lemon in NYC and something major happens. She has no choice but to return home to be with her family. A place she hasn't been back to for 12 years!! What could possess a country girl like her to run from her home, hunker down in the biggest city, never to return home?

Everything back then was sweet and wild, and we didn't even notice we were burning alive.

Sweet and Wild was just that. Sweet and Wild. We get to see each character be sweet and wild and see what happened on the ranch. The story tells us about Colt and Lemon's past and what got them to the now. And you can't help but just love Colt. A man that has that big of abheart and belief in something? He definitely has my heart. Lemon? Well, she's a feisty one. Maybe like a wild horse that needs to be broken. Is Colt up for the job? Or is 12 years too long to tame the wild thing that she is?

"You were born with fire in your veins, a light nothing and no one could smother."

I enjoyed the story. It flowed well, but I didn't feel a huge connection to the main characters until more towards the end. I didn't understand their love they had when they were younger and how it stayed so prevalent for so long, even with miles and years between them. I liked the Winchester family and think there is so much potential with all the supporting characters. I think they will be fun, wild, sweet and full of fire. This series should be a fun one that entertains you with the light and sexy. Sweet and Wild is only the beginning, so saddle up and get ready for a fast ride through the ranch. It's a quick read and full of a sassy woman and a man that will do just about anything to love that wild Winchester!

Wow, what a fabulous second chance at love story! I am positive I experienced every emotion possible throughout the telling of this story, from the witty comebacks and banter between characters to the heartbreaking angst of trauma. The book does have its fair share of angst, but the story is not burdened by it and the lighter side balances things beautifully.

There are some terrific descriptions and expressions, one of my favourite words in the story was ‘right-way-up-ed-ness’, what a hoot and the perfect word for the situation. It’s because of these that you do feel the emotions with the characters and can sympathise, appreciate or admire.

The story is based around the two lead characters, Lemon Winchester and Colton Hayes. Set mainly in Lemon’s home town, Red River Canyon, on her family’s huge ranch, the Winchester Wild Ranch where Colt has worked for years. The story is told in two time frames; present day and before Lemon left to go to New York when she was a teenager.

Lemonade, or Lemon as she preferred, was an extremely passionate person in all aspects of her life. She never backed down from a challenge but then again with three brothers she would have followed the old ‘survival of the fittest’ motto. Colt is a genuinely great guy, I liked him immediately. I liked Lemon too and cheered them both on from the sidelines hoping their relationship would catch alight again. The sexual chemistry was hot, hot, hot.

I am delighted to see that there will be more books about the great characters in this family.

I was instantly hooked into this book within just a few pages, I could not put it down at all.
I mean, You can't go wrong with a book full of hot cowboys! I just loved it. The writing flowed beautifully, the world building as well as character building was amazing and of course, I was swooning all over the place for Colt.

Colt is such a sweet guy. He had all these manners, and every time he said "Yes, Ma'am" I was reduced to a puddle at his feet. There is just something about a cowboy using all those manners and being polite to women. However, once you got him behind closed doors...Whew-Boy ... all those manners went out the window and he was even hotter! There’s a sayin’ “Sweet cowboy on the streets, but nice and rough between the sheets” and that is perfect to describe Colt!
I felt for Colt though, where his father and West were concerned. Lemon was so feisty! She would not let her brothers walk all over her. She had the nickname ‘Winchester Wild’ for a reason! These two together, well lemme tell you somethin’ they burned so hot.
The second chance angst, and all the pain between them just made the moment they finally came together again, even more explosive.

I gotta admit that I had a tear or two while reading this book. It was a heartfelt, emotional read. I honestly hope that we get to see Wyatt have his own book!!

I’d rate this an even 4 out of Five Stars, I recommend this to anyone who LOVES Cowboys and Second Chance Romances.

What an brilliant second chance romance story. So many emotions in this one! Carmen did good.

I loved how she laid this one out, mainly in the present but a few flashbacks also were there so we could see and experience what had happened before to lead Lemon and Colton to the point they are at now, why so much heartache and anger is present.

I love all the characters in this one and I honestly can't wait to see what happens with these insane Winchester boys and their stories.

Lemon run away from her childhood town 12 years before and never looked back. When tragedy strikes she comes home and is faced with all the demons she left behind. I honestly did love Lemon but I was slightly ragey at her for the way she treated Colton, I mean he gave me serious swoons! this guy never stopped loving her and he deserved much more, maybe me :-). I was really glad when she finally got her head out of her a**s and fully embraced her life on the ranch with her family and especially Colton.

As always Carmen's writing flowed brilliantly, her characters were engaging and on point. I am seriously excited to see what happens next with this series.

Sweet and Wild by Carmen Jenner is a emotionally satisfying romance read. It's a intense, southern hotness, 2nd chance romance, and deep feels.
Lemon Winchester left home 12 years ago after a heart-wrenching experience. She needed something more to her life and when she ran away, she left behind her heart and broke hearts. Fast forward 12 years later, Lemon is coming home after a horrible loss and faces everything and everyone she left behind, including her 1st love and ex fiance Colton Hayes.
This 2nd chance romance is simply fantastic. It is full of feels and chemistry between them. It shows what happened and what led up to them separating. Keep tissues handy. The story is written in such a beautiful way and has me thinking about Southern families. Alot of it rings true. The ending is great . Colton is a great hero- strong, loyal, sweet, and swoon-worthy. Lemon is sassy, sweet and funny. They are both broken by what happened 12 years before but still are in love with each other but are fighting fate. This is one great read and can't wait for book 2 in this series.

Lemonade aka Lemon moved away from her family ranch in Texas at 18 years old to New York City; leaving behind her mom, dad, four brothers and her boyfriend, Colton aka Colt. Twelve years later her dad suddenly passes away and she comes home for the first time. Everything she was running away from 12 years ago is thrown in her face again and she doesn't know if she can handle it all again. But she also doesn't know how to walk away again.

The first few chapters of this book seemed awkward and forced to me. I was worried that the whole book would be this way but eventually it stopped feeling that way. I was able to guess very early on in the book what caused Lemon to run away and why Colt was so angry and heartbroken. I just wanted to smack them both and say sit down and talk you dummies. But at the same time their arguments and banter made me laugh and entertained me. I found too many inconsistencies with the story that kind of irked me but not enough to make me dislike the story. Also once it all played out and everyone talked I still don't totally understand why one of her brother's was so angry. His explanation didn't make sense to me.

How is it possible to lose your heart, mind and soul to two characters that are a creation of a brilliant and beyond talented author? Well, I did. I cannot explain it, but I fell hard and completely. Sweet and Wild epitomises everything I crave and could wish for in a romance. Every expectation was obliterated. I could not possibly have anticipated the magnitude that is this story.

Lemon and Colton (love, love, love the names, by the way) were a force as a young couple. Circumstances tore them apart. Tragedy brought them back together. It was explosive, arousing and dramatic. Humour was a major factor, as was heartache and tension. So many conflicting emotions came together so perfect and effortlessly. I tried so hard to not devour it too soon, as Sweet and Wild deserves to be savoured. But I could not hold back. Reading this story was a privilege. Craving more unavoidable, and trying to function after an epic book hangover impossible. 5 stars.

I have read a lot of books and I just have to say I didn't know what I was missing until I read Sweet and Wild. I felt at peace when I read this book I'm not entirely sure why, but I just didn't want to end the story. Lemon Winchester left home 12 years ago in pursuit of something more. She broke hearts and needed an out. She's not back home after a tragedy, but not everyone is so welcoming of her return. Not only is her brother giving her heck being gone so long, but the one man who has had her heart doesn't want anything to do with her. Colton Hayes knew what he wanted in life and that was Lemon, but when she destroyed his heart he was never the same. He works hard on the ranch and to help those around. When Lemon comes back he doesn't know what to do. These two have unresolved issues and a love like no other. But Lemon's plan is to always go back where she's been for the last 12 years. The question is will Colton let her go again or will he fight?
