I knew when I started this path it would lead to destruction...
...but nothing could have prepared me for this.

Drugs flooding campus. Tensions brewing between the factions. Old enemies reappearing. New secrets taking over my life. Love awakening a soul I long thought was dead.

Cassius, Clay, Hiro, and Royal have named me one of them, but sharing a title is easy. Can we share all that comes with it?

I’ll be tested in ways I’m not prepared for—by enemies and loves alike. There’s more going on with the academy, the Horsemen, and my parents' disappearance than I knew. What I do know is following that path will be dangerous.

I can't tell who the angels, demons, or devils are anymore.

I just know they're all after me.

The Sinners is a reverse harem high school bully romance. This is the second book in the series and features language, dark themes, and sexual scenes. If you're cool with that, dive in!

DNF. I was unable to connect to these characters. I was just reading the words on the page. Not feeling their emotions, not understanding or caring what they were going through. It felt like work reading this book.

The story was just going in circles with people screaming:
“Where are your parents?”
“Your parents stole from us!”
“You owe us!”

And of course the guys saying that they will protect her and their sister now becoming her BFF because she prevented her from getting raped.

I am disappointed since I have loved other books written by this author.

You may love this RH series. Reading is subjective.

Couldn't stop reading!

What makes this another five star for me? The fact that I couldn't put it down, couldn't stop reading, I'm feeling all the feels, and I need the next book asap!

So many developments and I gobbled them all up. Many unexpected revelations – about Ember's parents, who the school dealer is, who Eli's attackers were. So many tender and swoony moments between Ember and the guys. No wonder she couldn't help but fall for them.

👩🏻👨🏻THE MCs

Royal — is still so goddang hot. He has admitted that he's under her spell. He took care of her and held her while she broke down confronting her grief and guilt about Rory.

“It’s not damn obvious by now that I’d do anything for you? Your ass does have me whipped. Happy now?” - Royal

Clay — gave Ember her first real date. Unlike Cassius and Royal, he didn't rush into having s*x with Ember.

We weren’t doing anything above a PG rating. Clay folded his hands behind his head, mine were above the waist, and our clothes were neat and buttoned. Somehow, here with Clay in his tucked-away spot, was one of the most intimate moments of my life. I felt myself growing closer to him.

Cassius — was a little jealous and unsure of his standing with Ember at first but she was quick to reassure him. He's still the one who gives Ember easy and fun when she needed it.

“You were what I needed exactly when I needed it, Cas. Just like you promised you’d be. Keeping promises—there’s nothing more important to me.”

Hiro — is the only one who could fluster Ember so much she'd stammer at times when dealing with him. He has since apologized and shown remorse for his actions but for some reason, he's still holding back.

“You and I would be a disaster together, Ember. You’d make me believe in forgiveness and hope, and I’d remind you there is none.” - Hiro

Ember — is the same person she was in book 1, only now she has more people she's fighting to keep and protect. She's determined to get them all out of Raven River while the guys are mostly just resigned to their future as gangbangers. I love that she's always thinking, and despite everything that's going on she finds a way to spend quality time with the people who matter. Sometimes I get scared that she's making the wrong decisions but it turns out she always has a plan and I should just trust her.

😍 OTHER THINGS I LOVED

✔ Camila's revenge
✔ The mystery of the note and the key
✔ Ember and Eli's relationship - she's protective of him but not to the point that she's controlling and overlooks his wishes

✍🏻 RATINGS

OVERALL RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Loved Everything!
SWOON SCORE: 💓💓💓💓 Swoon-Worthy
SPICE LEVEL: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Hot and Explicit

Did I laugh? Yes! Many times.
Did I cry? Yes, because the guys kept thinking they won't ever get out of the Horsemen. They feel it's hopeless and that they wouldn't get the future they want with Ember. 😭
Do I recommend? ✅ YES 💯

So honestly I didn't feel as if much happened in this story aside from sex. Sure she has four guys in total or will have 4 in total, there's only so much one story needs. There was little development into her parents disappearance and more questions came to light. I do like that Ember has really grown in her time at the school. Then again I guess being loathed and bullied by your peers will do that to a person. So often I wondered why she just didn't take Eli and run. The school, gated or not, was not a safe haven for either her or Eli. We do get some more background on her guys and why they are where they are which shed some light on the situation. However, I think Royal's dad being the gang leader really threw things for a loop. Another obstacle in an already mine field-laden course. I'm curious to see how it all culminates and what the real story is behind her parent's disappearance and stealing of the money. It's clear it's not as cut and dry as we are led to believe and I'm curious to see how it plays out.

The stakes got even higher in this book! This story is so crazy and I love it. Things are escalating with the raveners and the blackmailer, it seems like everyone is out for Ember. Luckily she has her Angels to protect her and their relationship has escalated from lust to love.

I thought this was fast paced and had plenty of action and furthered the mystery of the missing money. I do get sick of all these people blaming Ember for her parents, like this is in any way her fault. I just want to see the raveners put in their places and knocked from their high horses. Ember is making strides and after what happened with Leo and Nolan, I think we'll see some definite progress next book.

I'm excited to jump into the last book. I'd love to see Ember and her boys get out of Raven River and move on with their lives.

This was a fine follow up to book one. To be honest, I read book one on a three day road trip and I barely remember it. Luckily, this book caught me back up at the beginning. While this was a fine follow up, it very much felt like a middle book with very little development.

There was a little bit of development in this book with regards to the relationship but not as much as I wanted. The most development happened between Ember and Hiro, probably because he was pretty absent from book one, but it wasn't as much as I was expecting. Aside from the little bit with Hiro and a bit with Clay, it still felt the attention was mostly on Royal and she was just hooking up with other people.

The beginning of this book and the end had some action but the middle was pretty slow for me. There wasn't as much mystery solving as I wanted. It seems like they're just trying to draw it out into three books. Rio also wasn't as much of a barrier as I expected him to be and I felt like even though the ending had more action, it was a bit all over the place at times. I'm still intrigued about what the conclusion will be and I will almost certainly read it but this book wasn't exactly what I wanted it to be.

The scenes of her visit to her sister's grave and then the sex scene with Royal immediately after was too forced. There were other places in the book like this. I was also surprised by all the grammatical errors and typos. It was like they pushed book 2 to be released too quickly and did not take the time to proof it well.

Lots of intrigue, steam, and unanswered questions. Another high school academy is full of violence, backstabbing, and drugs. It's the rich elites vs. the scholarship kids from the wrong side of the tracks The angels each have a dark side, but the rich elites need to watch even closer!! Some secrets revealed a few double crosses and lots and lots of teenage angst. Waiting to see who will find redemption, and if Ember's parents are truly the evil cons everyone assumes or simply misunderstood.

I felt this book was a little better than the first one.

The second installment in this suspenseful reverse harem, high school bully romance series picks up where ‘The Angels’ left off. We gain some insight into Royal’s childhood and better understand how he came to be involved with the Horsemen. Ember’s new status with The Angels provides her with some respite from her abusive peers, but also puts her under closer scrutiny by the Horsemen. There’s no question that Ember is capable of talking the talk, but when push comes to shove, is she willing to walk the walk as well? Time will tell.

All in all, this is a very busy tale – full of secrets, lies, betrayals and several surprising revelations. There’s plenty of drama, anguish, violence, and suspense along with numerous super-steamy encounters, including some ménage. I’m looking forward to the continuation of this twisty tale.

Oh my god I ate this book up. After that cliffhanger? HOW COULD I NOT? Picking up after that thing 😀 I loved Ember’s Witt. It’s so unique and if I thought I had a favorite FMC before… I have a new one maybe- 🤡

This story really picked up. I am loving the relationship with Cam bloom, im loving the brotherly bond with Eli.

This author did NOT forget about characters and put them aside once others came into the photo. I love this about this author. I’m in love 😭

I was rooting for … BUT THE ENDING?! ANOTHER CLIFFHANGER 😰😰😰😰

Okay not as good as book 1 but still interesting. So we are finding the clues in this one and trying to do it with no-one know. the teenagers are still vipers. I also want to know why none of the adults are really helping. I know the police are involved but they seem useless and although I like the headmistress too much seems to happen at this school. I want to see Rio get whats coming to him. Does he care about anyone or just money? I'm starting to doubt if her parents are guilty now.

Grrr Ember

SYNOPSIS: Ember finds herself trapped in a deal with the Horsemen. Find the money that her parents stole and hand it over to the gang... or else. Ember and the guys are scrambling to find the money , uncover the drug dealer on campus, find the rat, and ensure their enemies are staying in line, all the while trying to find time to expand their relationships with one another.

THOUGHTS: It’s a huge and complicated mess for Ember to decipher her parent’s message. All the chase really does is allow extra time for her relationships to grow with Cas, Clay, and Royal, and for additional drama to unfold at school. Ember is still judgy as hell, questioning their life choices, and thinking that she, an eighteen year old, is going to save them all from a GANG. A GANG Y’ALL.

The relationships seemed extra forced to me. There is no group dynamic except that it’s noted the guys eat lunch together everyday. The relationships between Ember and the guys feel the same. Royal is in the little box in which I’m sure Ember would label as her first love, even if was a hookup. He’s held to this weird character standard that doesn’t fit with his persona. Cas is just a hookup until the end. Clay’s and Ember’s relationship felt the most legit, and even that felt forced. They all just treat her like a tag along to their group, a hook up, etc. I don’t see any relationship or character development. There are also multiple mentions to Ember’s magic pussy. 🙄🙄🙄

Hiro is being cagey about joining the harem, which Ember seems take personal. Like nobody can resist her charms and her bedroom skills. 😒The cliffhanger reveals the reason why, which is why I’m again going to finish this series, even though Ember is getting on my nerves and i don’t particularly care for the relationships.

Wth, was this?

ARGH!!! Wth, Ember?? I read the reviews, and everyone really liked her. My question is why, how?? First, I felt embarrassed for her since book one. No one talks to guys like the Angels like she did. Hello she had one night with him 2 yrs ago. Okay, and the situation w/ meeting the dad, come on!!!! What she says to him,get to the point, she went into her family story of the past,no just no.Then to run off at the mouth about his momma, and yelling to his guys to get her a first aid kit, and her dinner order. Again NO,NO. So here I am so pissed off,I had to just stop ready. She hasn't handled the "thing" w/ her brother well at all,are we really supposed to believe she was really backed into a corner?? She just choose to do things completely wrong.I just gave up on this book, because Ember just gets worse. The minute she walked into Nolan 's room, and said what she said... DONE!! Or should I say DUMB, well I will say BOTH. I can't believe this was written by Ruby Vincent. I don't normally leave negative review ever, but these books were not good. I like the guys"Angels", but needed a different female main character

Ember and her guys are getting deeper into the underbelly that is the Horsemen and the war that is coming with the Raveners. And while Ember is now free of her previous debt with the Horsemen, the leader, Rio, has decided the entire amount of money her parents have stolen should be his. So Ember is charged with trying to find out where her parents are, while also navigating the waters of a blackmailer who has gone too far, and exploring the blossoming relationships with her men.

As Ember follows the breadcrumbs her parents have left behind, she fears what she might find. Are her parents alive? Do they even want to be found? And under the threat of death from Rio, if she doesn't find the money, will she be able to have the life away from Raven River she so desperately wants?

I struggled once again with the fact that Eli suffered very little even though his relationship with his parents was the same as Ember's. The thing I struggled with most, was after Eli was attacked, everybody, including Ember's enemies, was appalled over him being hurt. It couldn't be they were appalled because he was a kid because he was 14 and kids that age tend to get in fights anyway. So that only left the fact that he was deaf. Would I find it equally as appalling if a deaf kid was attacked? Of course. But the 180 that these antagonists made and the rage they exhibited over it was a bit weird. A person with their levels of rage wouldn't jump to the defense of someone they blame for their tenuous situations.

I like Royal as a main love interest but my heart was all for Cassius. I loved how honest and blunt he was with whatever popped into his head. You weren't going to get it sugar-coated with Cas. You would get the truth even if it hurt. I was glad that he was the first of the boys that Ember went to when she needed to focus on anything but her upset over her brother.

The author really made Rio likeable and charming in many of the interactions between the characters but when you hear some of his background offenses, it made me wonder why I ever found him charming in the first place. Which is EXACTLY how Rio made all of his victims feel. The fact that I could experience that as a reader was very well done.

The Sinners is the sequel novel to a bully romance with all the warm and fuzzies wrapped in angsty barbed wire.

Well hot damn

I was not expecting these revelations at all. That’s one way to drop three truth bombs in an ending and one heroic act I hope that changes a couple peoples lives and opinions about each other.

I just have to say I love the name Ember. It’s so unique. I love her, her men (all four: even though one doesn’t deserve it at the moment) Eli and Cam.

Ugh I can’t wait for everything to come out

5 ⭐️’s

Here’s my favorite quotes from this book

Rio was expressionless through my speech. “I owe you an apology, Ember. You are far from a child. You’re burdened by inexperience, immaturity, and naiveté, but not, it’s clear, by lack of intelligence. The longer I’m in your presence you prove yourself worthy of the title—the first Horsewoman.”

The thing about pain is when it torments you long enough, you begin to cling to it. Suffering is preferable to the terrifying fear that without the pain you might be numb.

“I didn’t run from you, princess. I sacrificed you. The beautifully sad girl who stepped onto the balcony wearing agony only I could see. I ate your pain because that’s what I do. And then I left you because I’d give it back. That’s what I do too. ~Royal

“Then let’s stop pretending we didn’t trade ‘you and me’ for ‘us’ a long time ago.” ~Ember

“Find someone that challenges you. Pushes your buttons. Ignites your anger like no one else. Because in that frustration is passion. The artist doesn’t paint because he wants to. He paints because he has to. Even when he despises his creation. Even when he doesn’t have two pennies to rub together and art demands his last one. Even when the world tells him he’s no good. His passion for painting is obsession, and that’s what love is at the end of the day. It has to be you and only you. Their passion. Their obsession.” ~Nora B

Life is about accepting the crap you can’t change and focusing on what you can.” ~Clay

“And Lighthouse too,” added Clay.
“He was feeling you up the other day.”
“You mean when he pulled a leaf out of my hair?”
“He took his sweet time with that damn leaf.”
“I’m leaving now.”

Part of the word literally translates to fire in Japanese, and that’s what you are. Wild. Beautiful. Dangerous. Warm.” ~Hiro

I took Cassius’s and Clay’s hands as he faded in the distance. “I love you.”
“We love you too.”

“I love you, Ember,” Clay said. “Possibly since the first day I met you and stole a kiss that wasn’t mine.” “
And I love you,” said Cassius. “Since the first time we had sex and you said three more times.” He accepted my swat with a grin. “And the night I looked into your eyes and saw that you and I were the same. Meant to find each other. Meant to heal the other.”

What a weird feeling I have after this book.

I don't hate it but my expectations were crushed and burned with this installment. Utter disappointment.

I didn't enjoy the beginning of the first book but by the end it became somewhat exciting...and then this book happened.

Did I miss something? Was there 1.5 book? What the hell happened to the characters? Why is the main character suddenly so horny? And why do they f with no preliminary? No jealousy? No questions! No complexity, no blood pumping love or life drama. Nothing! They just F, pass her around and that is okay to them! I don't believe it.

I don't feel connected with the characters, the so called nerdy triplets are bland, the Royal angry 'artist' and 'nothing-but I know Japanese' Hiro are not exciting and if not for the author convincing us that it is love, I would think Ember is a toy. Even the drama and 'mystery' we had in the beginning had vanished.

Don't even get me started on 180 Ember did and that 'good deeds' loop. Ugh.

I get it, it's RH. But personally insta love is explainable in supernatural genres, not contemporary!

This is why RH is not thriving. One of the reasons for the big quantity of supRH, authors are lazy about their love drama development, the don't want to write more then they need for – $$$, supRH gets them there faster and it's easier to write everything off on 'starcrossed lovers' aka mates. Plus people read for the 'spank' but even here my heatmeter has barely breached 2 out of 10 for this book.

Loved this book though I will say not as much as the first one. It seemed like it was mostly setting up for the third book which I was totally fine with.
I do have to say there are some things I don’t like/understand about this series.
For one I don’t think there’s a good grasp on money in this series. Ember supposedly has no money yet she spends a day shopping for Christmas gift that would have cost at least a couple hundred bucks. I’m also not sure how royal is making his money specifically enough to have his own apartment. His racquet Is stealing cars however, over the course of this series he’s only stolen 1 car and ember received all the profits from it. Yet he doesn’t seem even remotely concerned about cash when he has essentially no cash influx.
Secondly I really don’t understand Hiro’s and Embers relationship/dynamic I’m not even 100% sure why she likes him other then she thinks he’s gorgeous. This relationship just seems more forced and artificial then the ones she has with the other 3 boys.
I would be interested in getting a more in-depth look into the characters racquets and the other 3 horsemen. We know rio deals in luxury items but we still know next to knowing about the whole operation.

Well hello there really great RH book series....

Obsessed with ember and her boys!

That twist at the end with Hiro has me honestly shaken to the core and itching at my skin with anticipation for how this will all play out in the final book, GIVE IT TO ME!

Ember has been one of my most favorite book heroines ever, EVER!!! Probably the first books that the female lead has been more favored then her male counterparts.

Loved each and ever guy too, even Hiro after that bomb (feel like there will be a really good explanation)

Royal is without doubt my number one though without fail that bad boy artist is just right up my alley....

Cas and Clay just melt my heart every single time they are in a chapter and I’m so glad that they were the first to confess love to our girl ember here, just seemed so right!

A good old mystery is still brewing with regards to embers and her brothers parents which still needs to be resolved in the next book with is bound to be chock packed full of adventure and action as they navigate their own investigation, Rios (royals dad 🤯) continued interfering and now Nolan threat and her issues with Hiro goodness, fan me I’m so excited!

Eh

I really like this series so far, but I can only give it three stars because the typos and the lack of explanation with conversations gets really confusing and just like in the first book, you’ll have to re read some parts to know whose talking and when it switched.

SPOILER AHEAD:

Another reason I gave it three stars instead of four is because the author tried way to hard for suspense to the point that it was just flat out misleading for the sake of said suspense. Ember’s inner monologue had her talking like she was truly betraying the angels, she was so sick over it, she even tried to convince Royal not to go forward with the plan, etc. when in reality the guys were in on it the whole time, which was overly predictable even though the author made a whole mess out of the end.

Also, Hiro supposedly jumped her brother. It seems to forced with the rest of the ending that I’m not sure if I buy it, I almost want to say Brandon is responsible, that would be more suspenseful, more of a plot twist, and would definitely come out of left field, but who know.

She has two options risk the life of one of the angels, or give up her secret to the leader of the horsemen.

He sees the situation for what it is, and knows he must come up with a plan or they wont be leaving the garage alive. Think fast, act faster.

How can one meeting with one man change everything...

This is the opening scene of book two in this trilogy, directly continuing on from The Angels, and oh boy talk about thrown in the deep end, sink or swim.

Raven river academy never has a dull moment that's for sure! Theres always something or someone lurking around the next corner just waiting for the chance to pounce!

Blackmail, secrets, lies and a budding unconventional love that's smoking hot what more can you possibly need or ask for?

Ruby Vincent is on point with this series. I'm giving this 4.5 stars, and cant wait for the last book!!

Oh wow....I love this story! Book one left us on an almighty cliff hanger and this book took over right were we left off! God i love these guys, Royal, Cassius and Clay all trying to save Ember from the madness of Rio!! I just loved the way ember breaks Royals defenses down, we definitely see relationships build between them all.....the sex scenes were hot!! The twists i didn't see coming and i was on the edge the whole time.....loved it!!! Now we have a few secrets out of the closet and some questions have been answered but some new ones have also been raised, so I can't wait to see where the author takes it....5 huge stars!!!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I don't really know what to think of this book. The storyline was great. I liked Ember and loved the triplets. Royal was fine(I really hope the author opens up more about his feelings towards Ember in the next book!). Julian is really confusing and the cliffhanger with Hiro ensured that I have to read the last book ASAP.
I didn't understand how no one knew about Aurora. After all, she was atleast 5 years old at the time of her death and her parents made no attempt to cover up her existence.
Ember's poor relationship with her parents seemed overstated. Apart from the scene in the graveyard(and, of course, abandoning her and Eli), they looked like caring parents.
There were quite a few grammatical errors and sometimes I'd have to read a paragraph twice to understand it.

Ember and the Angels;

Loved this second book!! My favorite quote:
This is Embers mother talking to her. She told her to seek love with just a tiniest bit of hate mixed in.
“Find someone that challenges you. Pushes your buttons. Ignites your anger like no one else. Because in that frustration is passion. The artist doesn’t paint because he wants. He paints because he has to. Even when he despises his creation. Even when he doesn’t have two pennies to rub together and art demands his last one. Even when the world tells him he’s no good. His passion for painting is obsession, and that’s what love is at the end of the day. It has to be you and only you. Their passion. Their obsession.”
Hope you enjoy book two of Raven River Academy as much as I did.
