3.75 stars--KNIGHT OF BIRMINGHAM by Lori Hayes is the eighth instalment in the contemporary, adult multi-authored, multi-cultural KNIGHTS OF THE CASTLE romance series. This is businessman Rory Tanous, and attorney/women’s shelter executive Meghan Turner’s story line. KNIGHTS OF THE CASTLE is a spin off from the multi-authored Kings of the Castle series but you do not have to have read the previous series to follow or understand the current timeline. Several characters cross-over for cohesion and familiarity. The Knights of the Castle series focuses on the Middle East, fictional principality of Durabia, and the misogynistic, racist and ethnocentric attitudes and beliefs.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise including but not limited to women and children sexual slavery, and organ trafficking, there may be some triggers for more sensitive readers.

First off I want to thank the publisher Macro Publishing Group as well as the authors for inviting me to read and review it as well as letting me go on with the series and a big thanks NetGalley as well for letting me read it and review.Also I don't know if I've mentioned this but each of these book can be read as a stand-alone or you can read it in order like I have be doing. And even though its my first time reading anything by these two authors , they did an amazing job of bring their story to life and you can tell they had fun doing it , the way their writing flows together you can literally see the what the characters look like , its almost like watching a movie or so I think so. Which that said if your looking a fast-paced read with heart-pounding action look no further either pick this one up or one of the other ones, or just pick them all up to read.

I don’t know where to begin. This book had me on the edge of my seat, holding on to the emotional rollercoaster ride of being shocked, anger, love, surprise, suspense and wanting to slap a character or two. I love how the author developed the characters especially the main two characters Meghan Turner who is an advocate and has a nonprofit organization that helps women who have being incarcerated with long sentences for crimes committed that they should have been exonerated or given short term sentences. Then there is Rory Tannous who is a business entrepreneur who has safe homes for women in Durabia who are sex trafficking victims or victims of abusive husbands.. Rory is also connected to the Kings and Knights of the Castle.
Women are disappearing from the safe havens that Meghan works with and their information is wiped out of the system. This draws Meghan and Rory to work together to see who is behind all of what is happening to the women that have gone missing.
You will have to read the book to see who is behind these women being taken and why. Even though this book is part of the Knights of the Castle series it can be read as a stand-alone..
This book was a page turner for me and I highly recommend this book to read. This is my first time reading a book by this author and I look forward to reading more books by her.

The story caught my attention with the missing women. I found it to be scary because it felt so real. The good work done by the Kings & Knights of the Castle to assist those in need and the women who have also assisted have made this a dynamic, romantic suspense series.
This one dealt with the vulnerable women in the prison system who were to being given a way out of the system by Meghan and the three houses The Journey Beyond sponsored. Instead, the women were "disappearing". The storyline which included how far up the corruption in the system went was revealing and intriguing. I was hooked.
The story had Meghan and Rory, both in their 30s, with their "meet cute" as well as meeting the villains of the story, including Luis Fry. Then there were the surprise twists that made the story even more compelling. I was rooting for Meghan, Rory, and the women who were taken, especially Candace. The other Kings and Knights show up to assist.
I liked the main couple, and I wish that their romance had a bit more urgency and romance to it. Meghan and Rory were both kickass & kind people. I just did not feel the attraction as strongly as I had hoped. I enjoyed how they worked with each other and even when they did not get along.
Candace and the rescuer who was so kind to her really caught my attention. I hoped that they would get together. However, they are not the main couple. I would have liked to have read more about Candace and her unknown Good Samaritan. I am not sure why I was so invested in their story.
I would definitely recommending this series for the suspense and surprising twists. The romance is budding between the heroine and hero.

While this is my first read in this series I had no trouble following it but I will be reading other books in the series
Meghan Turner is an advocate for women who where either sentenced for a crime they didn't commit or where given sentences that where far to harsh for the crimes they committed She works at local refuges to help them but someone is stealing women from the system and not only the women are missing but all records of their lives. Rory Tannous has a past that has shaped the way he lives his life and one thing he does is help women who have been victims of sex trafficking so when he hears about Meghan's situation he decides to help. There is strong attraction between the two of them but they need to find out who is stealing the women and see if they can rescue them Be prepared for a read that you won't want to put down

Whew! Rory and Meghan had an instant connection that heated up the pages of Knight of Birmingham. Their passion for helping disenfranchised women brought them together and nothing would tear them apart, not even their determination to keep their hearts safe. I thoroughly enjoyed this read, the bad guys were very bad, the nod to the mature musings of Ms. Sue Ellyn and the Mamas were hilarious and heartwarming, the Knights and Kings of the Castle did what they do best...make things right by any means necessary....looking forward to more.

“Bottoms Up” To Meghan and Rory!! 🤗
This is another great addition to this series as it gets closer to the end! It’s filled with unspeakable drama, lots of suspense and a little love and romance!
This is a great book and my first read by Lori Hayes! I believe both she and MarZe Scott did an excellent job of putting their voices together for an excellent story! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it and the entire series!! Kudos, Ladies!! 💜

Awesome Book!
This book was a page turner and kept me reading! I really enjoyed the pace of the book along with the characters. I been through Birmingham when I was in the Army, I have to go back for a visit after reading this book.

We meet Rory Tannous and Meghan Turner, who band together to tackle the issue of several women gone missing from halfway houses. Meghan Turner has a passion for the underdog, women just needing a leg up. When she has trouble finding someone to take her efforts seriously, she finds making a deal with the devil is the only solution. Meghan is on a mission to detach herself from this toxic union, but at the expense of being pulled in many directions and her clients mysteriously going missing.
Rory Tannous has a crusade of his own and is very similar to what Meghan has, only he is working underground and operating dangerously close to the snake's head.
Meghan's partner sees a pattern and reaches out to a friend, who gets in touch with a King, and of course, you know things are set in motion. Meghan and Rory come together under strained circumstances, but you know love compliments all things. I enjoyed watching Meghan and Rory work together, and the Kings once again show us the reason for their positions and titles.
I thought these authors did a great job capturing the readers by engaging us in a story of crimes, lies, deception, criminal acts, and awareness of an issue that is widespread in this and other countries. They balance all those dark acts with a romance in which the characters experience passion in each other.

When I picked up this book from the Knights Series I felt confident that the story would be on point and that I would fall madly for the characters. I was not disappointed.

Knight of Birmingham is a riveting story that tackles some of the tougher subject matters of today. The two authors seamlessly found a way to wave the story of Meghan and Rory that touches on injustices to women across the globe. Equally, the build up of how the main characters come together is nothing short of amazing. This is a perfect standalone installment to the Knights of the Castle series.

This is the latest installment in the Knights series. Rory and Meghan combine forces to save the women at her facility, that have gone missing. The story is riveting. The two authors pulled together a great story full of intrigue and love. I highly recommend this story and look forward to reading more from the authors.

Fast paced book that is full of adventure. These characters are fierce and once they find out what’s really happening they don’t give up until all the bad guys are taken down. What a wild ride the writers take you on in this book. It’s emotional and full of heart just like the characters. A must read!
