I did enjoy this but I found a Lean a little bit confusing in his character. Whilst I loved how into the heroine he was and how he never gave up on her he also had a few bouts of crying episodes in front of his men! I don’t know I just found him an alpha when it came to the heroine but a bit weak around his father and the crying scenes just didn’t work for me. Saying that he wasn’t a bad character and was actually a loyal and faithful character so those other things were minor . I think the plot was actually really good and the heroine became more likeable once I understood why she acted the way she did in the beginning. Lastly the book at the says it’s finished and then in the epilogue something happens and then it’s a cliffhanger! I don’t get it why an epilogue and not just a straight forward cliffhanger? It was confusing because I thought the story had finished and we were probably going to get a cute epilogue. Maybe it will be one of those continuing storylines??

This had the markings of a good book but it just wasn't for me there was something about the book that stopped me from enjoying it. It was a little bit wham bam for me nothing was explained or given context it just let me down a bit
Lean In is a PHENOMENAL read. I can't begin to describe the complete and utter rage I felt reading this book! The horrors that Mani and Ella were put through just outraged me. Every emotion conceivable is felt at one point or another throughout this book. Lean DiCico, is the VP of the Royal Bastards, Pittsburgh, Pa. Chapter and Mani is the stepdaughter of Giuliano Gallo, head of the Pittsburgh Mafia. She lives with her stepbrother, Stephano and stepsister, Catarina who makes her life a living he*l. In exchange for her taking the horrible way they treat her, they make sure her sister Ella, who suffers cystic fibrosis, gets the medical treatment she needs. Lean and Mani cross paths when Lean and his Dad are summoned to the Gallo mansion. While there Lean hears an odd noise coming from the closet and after kicking the door open out falls Mani. She's beaten and unconscious and that just pi*she's Lean off. Of course he takes her with him and crap really flies between the Bastards, Stephano and Catarina. Lean knows that Mani is his person and he'll do whatever it takes to protect her. And of course you know when it comes to the Bastards it's never quiet for long.
I'm not going to rate this book because I think I may have a bad copy. I mean some of the things other people said in their reviews I didn't read. Mine was full of mistakes and misspelled words. Read like a rough draft. Some of it didn't make sense so I don't want to give a bad rating if there was something wrong with the copy and I sure hope it was otherwise it was awful. I'll wait a see how her next book is. This is a new to me author so I don't know her work. I still have a good understanding of what it was about so I'll say it sounds like a good book 🤔
Great Read. The author has given us a well written emotion and action packed MC Read. I fell in love with the characters. We have Lean, VP for the Royal Bastards Pittsburgh Chapter, who will do whatever it takes to protect the club and what’s his and we have Mani who will do whatever it takes to care for his sister, Ella - who suffers from Cystic Fibrosis. Both Mani and Ella are being held and treated horrendously by their step siblings. The siblings hold Ella’s medicare care over Mani’s head forcing her to do outrageous things. She is stuffed in a closet for punishment when Lean comes across her. He sees her condition and outraged. He grabs Mani and takes her back to the clubhouse, not knowing about the sister.
From here the story takes off. Danger, action and suspense all come out in full force. The ending will leave you guessing a bit (Not in a cliffhanger way) but in an omg what’s going to happen next kinda way and this reader can’t wait for Book 2 in the Royal Bastard Pittsburgh Chapter to hit the shelves. I highly recommend grabbing this up, you’ll be in for one heck of a ride.
One of the best MC books out their. Its no wonder I love this series! It is gritty and raw. You are getting to know all of these characters intimately and it is one series that will not let you go! This is Pittsburg Chapter and it does not skimp on a story. It was a quick read for me and I am thankful that this author is one of the premier authors out there. Miss Voss is an incredible writer and will leave you breathless! Lean and Mari will dig into your soul, so get ready for a HUGE amount of angst and drama and you better sit back and get ready for a ride you will not soon forget, because this ride is going to get dangerous and it might be detrimental for you heart.

This story had me on the edge of my seat. I have not read a book like this in a while and I found myself addicted and enthralled at every page. It might be considered a dark read for some but for me it was just one of the crazy borderline crazy character stories that just works so well. The action, the passion, the dialogue... these things came together to create such a unique and epic story that I could not put it down. I need more of these characters and in this world, like now!!! LOL.
Wow! This was an amazing read. Lean rescues Mani and Ella from unbelievable atrocities and then the war is on! This book was fast paced, engaging, wonderfully written and filthy in the BEST possible way. Lol. This is definitely one of my favorite Royal Bastards books! Loved it!!
Awesome first book in this chapter by this author. Great characters with phenomenal chemistry, personality and a plot that continually built. Cliffie bummed me out but looking forward to reading the next book.
I've read several royal bastards books, but the evil woman and her brother in this book is sadistic. Lean is the VP and when he sees the "girl" who falls out of the closet who goes nuts. There's heat, danger, death and sickness. Didn't like how the book ended but have my suspicions. Can't wait to read her next book to be sure. HEA for the couple anyway.
Deja Vos delivers a great story. This is not hearts and rainbows. It’s an insta attraction but also lots of drama and angst. Definitely triggers for some. I loved it and can’t wait for more in the series.

Maní is rescued by Lean from a hell of a house where her stepbrothers had her and her little sister subjected to a different tortured. Lean is not a good man, he is a former drug addict, and ex-con and with his hands stained with blood, but for Mani this man is her hero. He finds in Mani the best drug of all: happiness, love and acceptance. They will have to face a bunch of flesh traffickers and many corrupts to ensure the well-being of this women, but the RB never back down from a fight.
I can’t help but feel like there’s more to her than that. I don’t know why, but I feel like there’s a reason why I was sent here, and it was to save her. To free her. To keep her safe from whatever demons brought her here.
“You know what this means, right?” I say, holding my leather in front of her. She runs her fingers over the patches. “When I put this on your body it meant that for the rest of my life, it’s my job to take care of you.”Babe, when I claim something as my own, I don’t share with anybody. No buys, no sells, no trades, you understand?” “Why me?” She doesn’t look like the weak girl I picked up off the floor yesterday, but a beautiful woman who just realized she’s got a power over me stronger than anything I’ve ever felt before. “Because I knew the minute I laid eyes on you, I needed you more than you need me. Don’t know why. I don’t always have the right words. But I know how I feel, and I know more than anything in the world I had to put my claim on you, and I’ll spend every fucking day of my life making sure you don’t have to worry about a thing.”
Blood runs down my hand and I start to laugh, knowing soon my fists will be covered in the blood of my enemies. Every last one of them. Until Mani can walk the streets safely without looking over her shoulder, I won’t stop. That girl’s gonna own this city, she’s going to be my queen. The thought makes me hard. Her and I together, forever, sealed by blood and bound by loyalty. My old lady, Mani. I’ll burn the whole city to the fucking ground to get her the life she deserves.
OMG!! Lean In: Royal Bastards MC Pittsburgh, PA -Amazing Read!
Deja Voss has given her readers another look into the dark, dangerous, gritty world that is the Royal Bastards MC and the true meaning of Ride or Die. The story begins with Lean, VP of the RBMC charter in Pittsburgh, PA who is edgy, dark and sexy as he lives each day trying to overcome his demons. Lean plays hard and loves hard but his whole world is about to explode when he rescues a broken woman from the evil Gallo siblings. One look at Mari and Lean knew she was going to be his and now is on a mission to do all he can to help her as well as saving her sister Ella. Mari has endured being tortured, drugged and used by men set up by her step sister and brother thinking she was saving her Ella's life only to find out later that they were both being used. This story had so much angst, intrigue, drama and passion going on that you are pulled into this story from beginning to end. Through love and healing the connection Lean and Mari have is one that will endure for a lifetime as their relationship is fast, raw and full of steam. This story had so many twists and turns between Mari sacrificing herself to help her sister and Lean, a plan to end the Gallo's reign of terror as well as new beginnings for the RBMC- Pittsburgh, PA Charter. Now we have an ending that will rock you to the core as you will be left yelling, screaming at Deja Voss as only she can take her readers on a exhilarating journey as we have to wait for the next book to find out what terror is heading towards this club.

Lean In is the first book in the Royal B@stards MC, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania series. I have read a few other RBMC books by other authors but this is the first book I have read by Deja Voss. I was not sure what to expect as you just never know whether you will click with a "new to you" author or not but the book description intrigued me so I thought I would give it a read. This book introduces the Pittsburgh chapter of the RBMC and some of it's members. The story centers around David "Lean" DeCico, the VP of the chapter, and Mani Gallo, a young woman who has been abused, beaten, tortured and more by her stepbrother and stepsister. She has one goal only and that is to ensure her younger sister, who is ill, is taken care of. So to that end she will suffer whatever it done to her. Lean however sees the beaten young woman and falls for her, deciding he is going to save her. For me this story was a mix. Most of it I liked but there are a number of bad triggers if you have them, it ends with a cliffhanger and HFN, and some things were just rushed and not at all plausible. I also have to say that the book could use a good editor as at times it was hard to read but I did get the author's intent. With that said though I came away thinking the book was okay and may pick up the next when it comes out next year.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
OMG…ok, going a little backwards here but I have to comment on the ending (just finished book) big, huge cliffhanger! Ok, got it off my chest. Loved this book. From beginning to end I was completely engrossed to the point where I did not sleep. I could not put it down and kept waiting for certain events and was surprised when things progressed differently. Both Lean and Mani, both were easy to relate to and were strong characters. On Mani’s part she didn’t believe herself to be strong but with Lean’s encouragement she quickly got stronger and when all the lies she believed about herself and events that happened she realized her strength too. Lean fell in love at first sight and it had to be love as Lean met Mani while she was not at her best. Lean’s Dad, Bruiser even surprised me. All of these surprises kept me interested and wholly focused on reading. The best part that contributed was the sex scenes were boiling hot and super sexy. Highly recommend this book to anyone who hates predictability. I won’t say more as I don’t want to spoil this book for anyone. Oh, back to the ending it’s going to be a long wait to see what happens next and I for one will be definitely anxious to see what is next coming up next.

New Author for me and I'm already her biggest fan ❤
This is the first book I've read by Deja Voss and I freaking loved it. I have read several other books in the Royal Bastards series and have loves them as well. I love that Lean is so gentle and affectionate with Misty. I love that even though his father first comes off as a tough, stubborn it's my way or the highway MC president...you quickly see his love for his son and doing what is right not only for the woman he loves but for all women who have been taken advantage of. I like that you don't hear about clubwhores...maybe this club didn't have them...maybe they did but you didn't hear about them..either way it was nice that some whore wasn't trying to cause trouble between the leading man and his leading lady. And the side characters were awesome as well. Brass ❤❤❤ basically Goliath with a heart of gold. I loved how he took to Eli...Misty's sick little sister and watched over her like her guardian angel...looking foward to his book coming up next. ❤❤❤ Rowdy & Gin...I hope they get thier own book. Oh and who can forget Mr Big Deal..Clay...Rowdys son...what a character he was...loved him. Margaret and her all seeing eye 😂. I love how the characters interacted with each other...it had me laughing and thinking..yip that sounds like something my friends and I would say. ❤❤❤ the pee stick scene in the Epilogue.
This is part of the RBMC series written by various authors. This is Lean and Mani's story by Deja Voss. Lean is VP for his fathers club the Pittsburgh Chapter of the RBMC and they are ruthless. When an offer of a much desired casino tag from the Gallo Family is given to them Lean is cautious but his father wants to hear them out. Mani's little sister Ella has cystic fibrosis and lives her days in hospital thinking her sister is at Ballet school, however that's far from the truth Mani is beaten and broken by their step siblings Catarina and Steffano Gallo. A loud bang from a door at the Gallo family mansion is all it takes for Lean to investigate but what he doesnt expect is for Mani to fall to the ground at his feet. He sees her as an angel but his father sees her as bait. Mani gets brought to the club house, and gradually sees that Lean is someone she can trust but with her sisters life in the balance she knows she has to go back. But when the Gallos take down one of the RB's thats when the real war begins and Lean will do what ever it takes to protect Mani and her sister. Well written with a great easy to follow story line. Filled with action, suspense, desire, dark themes, romance and hot bikers and their determined ol'ladies!

Mani Gallo has been beaten and abused by her stepbrother and sister since their parents died seven years ago. She accepts their treatment to save her ill younger sister. Mani may be abused but she has an inner strength that has a reader rooting for her success.
David 'Lean' DeCico is the vice president of the Royal Bastards MC in Pittsburgh. When he and his father go for a meet at the Gallo mansion and he discovers her locked in a closet, malnurished and beaten he takes her out of there. He's a recovering addict and doesn't feel worthy of her but he will do everything to protect her and keep her safe.
While I loved these characters there were too many insta instances that pulled kept pulling me out of the story due to believability. The abuse Mani endured is horrible and I expected to see more PTSD problems as she recovered. This couple deserved time to simmer and grow. If they'd had that time I'm sure I would have given this a five.
This couple has their happily ever after but the author adds a bit more to give us a too be continued arc that will have to wait until the next book comes out in 2021."
Lean is the VP of the Royal Bastards MC: Pittsburgh club, he’s the son of the president, and the owner/operator of the club owned strip clubs in PA. He has had a dark past and is trying to find his way in the club and in life.
Mani is a young woman that has been broken down, betrayed, lied to, and abused for years. Her only reason for living is her little sister and making sure that she is safe and taken care of. She doesn’t care what happens to her as long as it protects her sister.
This story is dark and ruthless. The MC wants to rid the city of the mafia family that partakes in human trafficking and when they show up at the mansion for a meeting, that they really don’t want to have, they find a young woman in a closet. This is the catalyst to a deadly, destructive path that will lead to the fall of a sex ring, and the truth getting out. I enjoyed the story, but the epilogue left me with questions. Now I want more because the end of the book left me hanging. I give this story a 4-star review. I’ve read a few of the Royal Bastards MC books, by other authors and have enjoyed them. I look forward to more of the RBMC books in the future and more of the Pittsburgh, PA club because now I have to know what’s going on.
I couldn't stop reading this. What a great read from an author that I've never read anything before. This RBMS story centers on Lean the VP of the Pittsburgh chapter and Mani, a stepdaughter in the Gallo crime family. At a meeting with her stepbrother and stepsister, Lean hears noise from a closet and immediately investigates it. He doesn't hesitate to break the door in and finds Mani hysterical, beaten. and badly bruised. He vows to take her out of there so she doesn't have to go thru anymore torture. Little does he know the only reason she's there is to keep her sister safe and to get her the medical help that she needs. Once he gets her away from there all hell breaks loose between the mafia and the RBMC. Soon they find their way to one another and Lean is not willing to let her go or go back for her little sister. He promises that he'll get her out of that house and with her. He'll protect her with his life. Her life was a living hell in that house and he'll make everyone pay with their life. As things progress and it all works out for Lean & Mani in the end, we're left with a cliffhanger till the next book . I can't wait to see what happens next.

A new author for me and love it. Lean is the VP in the Royal Bastard MC. When his club being attack, he would make sure who ever done it will pay. But he's smart. That's why he come to the snake pit to see what and how he can cut their head off. He never expect to find a woman lock in a closet, bruised and unconscious. He also doesn't expect to have "girl" to capture his attention like lightning struck. But those snake who attact his club and make the girl captive, and be sex slave won't sit still. War is coming and it's gonna be bloody.
I love this book. Definitly my kind of book with it's sexiness, darkness, dominant Alpha, strong girl, and fast pace story. My down side that make me give four star is how Lean saw Mani at first sight and then call it love by the end of the day. My eyebrows gone up so high with this. And I thought she gonna go in trauma for all the thing she got from the slavery. I thought she gonna need more time to open up or be normal. But it's like a snap of a finger, she just open like a flower. Good for her but feel unrealistic for me. Overall, I still love this book and can't wait to read the next from this author.

I’m a ‘Burgh girl and I absolutely loved how the author incorporated the city into this story! Girl even ran inside Primanti’s!
I like how alpha the H was with the h. He was immediately all in and I’m into the insta love. He did start thinking the L word pretty much hours after meeting her which I thought was a bit much but *shrugs*. I was frustrated with the h for quite a while but warmed to her.
My issues were with the men’s emotional reactions. Nothing wrong with men crying but you have a side character crying in front of the other men simply from a mention of an illness that touched his family personally. The H also cried in front of the men. It was too much. Also, the last couple of MC books I’ve read by this author have this weird submissive/beta/whatever relationship with his father or elders in the club. I mean, I know that’s the way it’s supposed to be but this was something different. You can still be alpha AND respectful of the hierarchy.
This book is part of the Royal Bastards MC Collection. Lean is the VP of his chapter. His father made him anger and prison made him a monster. While going to visit a business associate to work a deal Lean finds a woman. They just call her girl and he knows something is up. She has a vacant look in her eyes and bruises everywhere. But it isn’t as easy as just saving her. There is more to it. Will Lean be able to convince her that they can save her and fix things? Lean wants her to be his but first he has to convince her that it won’t be more of the same with him. There is definitely more going on. Will Lean and his club be able to figure out everything going on? Lean is going to do everything in his power to stop the things he has learned about. He has saved her. Now he needs to do more if he wants to keep her. I loved this book so much. These characters were great. I hope to get to read more about them in future. Great job Deja. I am loving this collection more with each book I read. I can’t wait for the next one.
Mani’s history was packed full with potential PTSD moments that had me wondering how she survived and continued living. Horror upon horror as she grew up with abuse and torture at the hands of her stepbrother and stepsister. I thought she recovered at a phenomenal rate from a starved, tortured, beaten, raped, mute waif to a functioning woman complete with sexual feelings for her savior Lean. Lean was actually quite sensitive and patient with Mani as he fell for her at first sight. The storyline was more drama than romance but it filled me with relief when Lean rescued Mani, and continued to protect her with the best of his abilities. I’m a bit more bloodthirsty than the author as I wanted Catarina and Stephano to suffer much more at the end.

If you have not read any stories on the RBMC then you need. Especially this one by Deja Voss. Her books do have a bit of a trigger but I am good with it. If you have triggers of any kind of abuse then I suggest you tread carefully. Now lets meet Lean. He is one tough man and moody too. He is one to take care of business then ask questions later. Then trouble comes into the club and he needs to get a handle on it. He gets a call to meet some pretty powerful and crazy people. He does not want to but they might get a chance at a casino tag. Only to find a disturbing scene. He meets Mani and he is not happy with her condition. It gets ugly and a lot happens. Now we start to see a different side to Lean. He does not know what is going on. However he figures it out and now he is out for blood. He finds out a lot that has happened and wants Mani to be happy. Will she get her happy ending? I can say that she does and I was shocked and then Deja slaps us with a WTH kind of moment. Yeah you guessed, Massive Cliffhanger. Be prepared when you start this series. You will love it.
