3.5 Stars.
After the action packed first Volume, this Volume has chosen to tame it back slightly in order to focus on relationships and origins of various characters. The most surprising revelation comes from finding out that their butler (a kind of a Lurch-like fellow) is actually THE H.P. Lovecraft!
Last Volume, Pope died, but during the funeral, they discover his soul was captured in a soul jar. This revelation leads them into the past of Lovecraft, where Pope learned about the soul jar when he helped defend the world from the Kah-Lo-Luh (think Lovecraftian horror beasts). One of the beasts comes back and only by defeating it is Pope's soul released back to his body.
There is also a story involving Mavin and her ex, Kildare. After making amends and getting back together, they work together to tame a leprechaun and get a rogue witch under control. After all that, Eden returns and retakes her place as leader of the Coven.
Not sure if I want to continue with this book, even as cool as it is. I feel like it would be better connected with another comic universe and/or if the threat got much larger. The characters are a bit overpowered and never seem in any real danger.
Overall, it was good, but recommend with reservation.

The first couple of issues are written by David Hine. The final three issues are written by the illustrator Brian Haberlin. There's a noticeable drop in quality.

In fallout from the previous volume, the coven goes in search of Pope's soul jar, and we get the origin of Lovecraft, the butler. Followed by the coven fighting an incursion from another dimension, which, includes cameos from characters from other Brian Haberlin stories (I think).

This is a review of only issues 6 to 9. Not having read Volume 1, I found this comic series difficult to follow. It’s about a group of magically-endowed individuals working together in supernatural circumstances. I have to confess that it was a wee bit bewildering although the characters seem original and interesting. The artwork is reasonably clear and detailed. So quite good.

DNF. Sorry, what started as an interesting idea devolved so quickly that I couldn't finish it. This wasn't good and I'm not sure where the writers thought they were going with this. Overall, a dismal outing.

No, nope, never again

Just no . Great idea that goes nowhere and manages to do it at a snails pace. Never been happier to see the end of something like I was with this .
Great idea folks, rethink the execution and reboot it

The storytelling was not great in this one. It was everywhere and hard to keep up. Kind of chopped up and thrown together. I really liked the first volume, so it was unfortunate this one was such a mess.

I liked this a little bit better than the first volume, which is a little unusual for me, but not enough to give it more than three stars. I'd probably read more if I came across it, but I'm not going to seek it out actively.

The second volume continues on from the first but also adds new characters, places, and concepts that set up exciting things for volume 3 and beyond.

Ugh. The plot's all over the place, and the artwork's an eyesore.
