So Worth Loving: How Discovering Your True Value Changes Everything

Rate this book
To be human means to try and sometimes fail, to love and sometimes lose, to risk and sometimes regret. There are times when we realize where our choices have brought us and we're afraid to be honest--with ourselves, with others, with God--about how we're really feeling and how we got to where we are. Because what if no one understands? What if they think less of us? What if God is disappointed with us?

Eryn Eddy wants you to know that no matter your past mistakes, relationship status, career choice, or feelings, nothing can change the truth that you are so worth loving . In this openhearted book, she takes you by the hand and helps you look in, look up, and look out, exploring your relationship with yourself, God, and others. She gives you permission to feel deeply and openly before God, who isn't afraid of our feelings, no matter what they are. And she lovingly reminds you that you are not crazy, you are not alone, and you will get through this.

When I was only 5 pages in I thought, “WOW. Eryn just gets it.” Her struggles are so relatable, and I’m so grateful for her sharing them. Her writing is down to earth and smart.
If you’re looking on how to improve your relationship with yourself, pick up the pieces after life throws it’s intense lemons at you, or are interested in seeing and loving yourself as God loves you, then please check out this book. And if you’re none of those? Then check it out anyway. I believe anyone can gain something from reading this.

Loved reading this. Helped me process some past hurts and focus on knowing my own worth over the words spoken negatively over me; highly recommend for those who feel hurt and need a reminder of who God has made them to be.

I don't know Eryn personally but I am really proud of the vulnerability it took for her to share this book. As I read I not only thought about the ways each chapter will impact me moving forward, I also thought about so many people I am excited to share this book with. My favorite thing about this is how practical she makes each chapter.

Honestly, this is just the book I needed a few years ago when it felt like my life has fallen apart—after leaving everything behind with only a backpack on my shoulders, after the fallout of an unhealthy relationship, after the emergency surgery that left a 13-inch scar up my middle. I thought I just wasn't enough. If you have ever asked yourself if you are worthwhile or if you have believed that you are not enough—this book is for you.

Eryn is authentic, down-to-earth, and supportive as she shares her relatable life experiences and her resulting discoveries about self worth. The book is certainly an easy read, but that doesn't mean that its message is diminished because of it.

Be aware that this book does not provide the steps required to becoming a self-confident individual nor does it attempt to do so. Eryn introduces this book as a formal journal that includes a lot of questions to prompt her reader into discovering the answers themselves—and that's exactly what this is. At the end of each chapter, Eryn pauses and asks you to reflect upon the lies that you may have told yourself about who you are.

It's engaging, it's uncomfortable, and it stimulates growth.

So, go ahead. Get your hands dirty. Dig deeper into the opinions about yourself and the lies you may have mistakenly recognized as the truth. Allow yourself the time necessary to truly reflect after each chapter. Read it slowly.

"Sometimes we carry more weight than we are designed for, and even if we make it look easy, we feel alone and heavy inside. We are afraid to face the things inside of us, and we don't leave the door open for others to help us face them. If we are to love others well, we must learn to love ourselves and what we consist of. The good, the bad, the light, the heavy."

So Worth Loving showed me what was broken in my heart and who I needed to place my trust in. For the longest time, I knew that God loved me, but I never fully embraced it. Eryn opened up her heart writing So Worth Loving. She goes into depth about her past struggles and how she learned who God is.

One of my favorite quotes in this book is, "pain has a purpose, but we had a purpose before the pain." Isn't that just beautiful? Eryn doesn't hide the fact that we all go through pain, struggles, addiction, and valleys in our lives. Instead, she emphasizes that we are created by our Perfect Heavenly Father, who made us on purpose with a purpose.

I highly recommend So Worth Loving as your next book to read! Not only will this book make you cry several times (don't worry, I have been there), but it will pry open your own heart to face what you have hidden deep down. No matter who you are, what your present, past, or future looks like, this book is for you and a beautiful reminder that you are so worth loving.

I’ve followed Eryn Eddy and So Worth Loving online for years now, and I was so excited when I heard that Eryn was releasing a book! This book is a must-read. Eryn is honest and authentic, real and relatable, raw and vulnerable – all while being hopeful and encouraging. She shares real stories and struggles! “Pain has a purpose, but we had a purpose before the pain” is just one of the many nuggets of wisdom and truth you will find in the pages of this book. There are pages at the end of each chapter for journaling and reflection – this book isn’t meant to just be a quick read, it’s a book that you need take slowly and actually experienced. I loved it so much, I bought an extra copy for my best friend!

The book was amazing! Eryn has such a gift at writing from the heart and sharing pieces of her personal story while inviting readers to journey through the whole story. The book isn’t a cookie cutter approach to how to love yourself and discover your worth, but rather encourages its readers to dig into the hard stuff of your past and life and work through it to resolve healing and so that one can come out healthier on the other side. Eryn allows readers to dive into their story through journal prompts throughout the book which allows for an inspection of ones self. This book is great for everyone but especially individuals struggling with their worth or past hurt or even current hurt.

Reading this book is like feeling the warmth, comfort, understanding, & love from a friend who knows exactly what you’ve been through, can relate to how you feel, & then offers her best advice that can redeem all the broken parts of you again. It’s a breath of fresh air, it’s raw & honest, but it’s so healing to hear words that you needed to hear. To know that your worth & value doesn’t come from your past mistakes or stupid decisions. It’s so much more than that. You have a purpose in this world & you are SO WORTH LOVING!!

Eryn’s deep honesty and bubbly personality is portrayed perfectly in So Worth Loving. She shows her real self on every page, which is relatable and refreshing. She dives right in to real stories, struggles, and issues and shines a light on things she masked over time and how she learned to be honest with herself and let the light in. Once I started reading, I could not stop! I love the pages at the end of each chapter where you stop, reflect, journal, or set goals. I would recommend this book to all! I am definitely ordering multiple copies for friends, coworkers, and family. Loved it!!

I was captured by her gracious expression from the first page and you will find that who you meet in person is the person that is in this book. Beautiful, bold, kind and the heart of someone who wants every person who reads this work to know that they are so worth loving. I love and believe in the message of this book so much. Please get your copy today, you will be so blessed by Eryn's story.

A refreshing read that continues to remind you that you are worthy of love. Who doesn’t need to remember that? It’s a light read that hints at dark messy times in the author’s life and wraps up each short topical section with a prayer. I suggest it for a young woman to read slowly and saver the lessons that the author so bravely shared. It’s encouraging and hopeful with a casual writing style. And a good reminder to drink more water than wine. Enjoy!

This book!!! It was just as I expected, it was exactly like what I believe having an in person conversation with Eryn would be. It’s as if she has invited you to sit at her table for a heart to heart. No judgment, just authentically, full stop. Although it was nearly impossible to pick a favorite quote because let’s be real, every page is a gem in some way, my favorite part about the book were the questions for reflection at the end of almost every chapter. Eryn shares her journey of faith, hope, finding the true meaning and source of self worth and like any real friend, challenges and encourages you as the reader as you do the same. It’s not always easy, but in the end it’s worth it,especially with God on your side!

No matter your religious beliefs, Eryn’s book reminds readers that they truly are So Worth Loving. Eryn has shared parts of her life that are relatable on various levels, and her vulnerability shows through. Her book is a reminder that you don’t have to have it all figured out, things may not always be easy and perfect, but you can continue to show up for yourself. Her story can inspire others to know they are not alone and are so worth loving.

The book is very well written. I think the material may be suited for young women so I'm not the right audience. I know my value now but I didn't always. I'm a women in my mid-sixties. I'm all for improving the self esteem of young women. I'm horrified when I hear this cutting behavior is on the rise. Please continue to write on self esteem for young people. They are the World's greatest resource.

Such a great read!
It's rich, raw, real and uncomfortable at times. Eryn's vulnerability gives us all a glimpse at how loving our Savior is. So Worth Loving is a diary of sorts. A story of redemption that leaves me inspired to Go and Do. To be bold and intentional. To love others well and to love myself better.

I love that Eryn gave us space to reflect almost after every chapter. Not only what she wrote gave me things to think about but she was so intentional of saying this is what I went through, this is how I dealt with it, now here - let me help you.

I hadn't even gotten out of the introduction and already I had chills. I easily related to a lot of the same issues the author struggled with. I sure could have used this book years ago

I wish I could go back in time and give my high school self this book. Eryn gets vulnerable and shares some great nuggets of wisdom that have come from her struggles. I hope those who read this can walk away with her central message - that you are so worth loving.

Through her own story, reflective questions and prayer Eryn does an amazing job of encouraging us that no matter what you’ve done, experienced or who you are...you are So Worth Loving!!!

This was good. It was not what I was expecting or what I walked into it hoping/expecting to get out of it. A little cheesy at times but overall a really good self exploration book.
