Kalli is more than just a novel; it serves as a mirror reflecting various facets of Nepalese society. It narrates the life of a woman, chronicling her struggles from birth to death. The story delves into the harsh realities of poverty, the desperation that drives a character to seek foreign employment in hopes of a better future, and the tragic disillusionment when those dreams crumble, pushing him to the brink of death. Alongside, it portrays the plight of his wife, who, deprived of his love and support, fights relentlessly to arrange the blood money needed to save him.
Due to my busy schedule, it took a while to complete reading this novel. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed this novel.
I liked the book even though it took me over a month to finish. I think this book is worth reading. If I find any other books by this author, I will read it.
