The COVID-19 pandemic and the lock down it brought is causing unforeseen changes to our lives and the way society is organised. The effect is at multiple levels and health care, anxiety, friendships, intolerance, buying behaviour, education, work, the economy, so on and so forth. It is a virus that has set forth disruptive change. But then it’s not a totally bleak scenario ahead. Everything is lighter when the load is shared. So is pain and struggles for survival. Each of us has our own stories of how we are dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. How, amidst all the chaos and gloom, we are fighting — for the indomitable human spirit, fighting with hope and resilience. Swastyayan Shreyam, a HydRAW member, got the idea of collecting people’s experiences in the form of books. All around the world, with the people that she was conversing with, she could sense how everyone is similar when it comes to human emotions and tendencies. So, why not share our experiences in one platform — it will be an account of this historic period in humanity for future. “Let us all hear each other’s stories, and learn from each other. Let us all celebrate being in this together,” she said. So, here are the poems, stories and the essays - all packed in one single book. We call it as "Journey of Hope" to help us get through these crises. We got overwhelming responses for our call for articles. It was a difficult time for the HydRAW core committee consisting of Devika Das, Lavanya Nukavarapu, Sirisha Naidu, Arun G, Swapnil Saurav and Mahboob Hussain to review all the entries and make recommendations for the inclusion of the selected works in this anthology. We followed a thorough review and editing process to compile this bouquet of flowers for your reading pleasure.
