Eon Warriors #6

Claim of Eon

Rate this book
She’s an alien warrior dedicated to her job, but a tough, handsome Terran captain is a temptation she never expected.

As a female Eon warrior, Second Commander Airen Kann-Felis has fought for her career and is proud of her work aboard the warship, the Rengard. She has no time for men or frivolous pleasures, especially with the deadly insectoid Kantos causing the Eon trouble at every turn. When the Eon Empire makes an alliance with the small planet of Earth, she never expected to be working alongside a man like Sub-Captain Donovan Lennox. A good-looking, smart, and tenacious man who tempts her in ways she’s never been tempted before.

Donovan Lennox was born for space, and he’s happy to be aboard a high-tech Eon warship and helping to take down the Kantos. He’s even happier to work with the disciplined, independent female Eon warrior who is very easy on the eyes. Donovan believes in respect and pleasure, but what he doesn’t believe in is the myth of love. It was the one lesson his loser dad managed to teach him. As Donovan tries to tempt Airen into playing with him, she’s keeping her walls up, even as every second they spend together draws them closer.

When Airen and Donovan are on a shuttle mission together, they find themselves under attack by the Kantos and forced to crash-land on a deadly prison planet. With only each other to depend on, both of them will have to learn to trust each other, or they stand no chance at winning the race to survive the Kantos, or the prison planet’s dangerous creatures and bloodthirsty criminals.

I was so happy this time around to not only get a female Eon lead but a female Eon Warrior to boot. As such Airen has worked her butt off to get where she is. Earning respect as a woman warrior is often as hard as it is for human women and earning the respect of her men has taken time. Human AKA Terran Donovan puts all her hard work in jeopardy with just his proximity. Donovan also likes to skirt the rules and I thought Airen would throttle him a time or two. The two start off swearing against romance because of their pasts but it was not long before situations throw the two together and the lines begin to blur. The ongoing fight with the evil bug aliens the Kantos continues and Donovan and Airen must work together to thwart their plans and find out what they were after. I loved the push and pull between the two and how once they were stuck working together they let their feelings take over. Then again life and death situations help put things in perspective for them both. I didn't feel like much progress was made in the overall story-line. I still enjoyed the story but it felt more relationship based than part of the overarching story and fight against the Kantos. Them being sent off to capture a hired enemy felt too contrived if that makes sense. Needless to say the end did a lot to garner my interest in the next book. After the Kantos attack Earth, an Eon Warrior is being sent there to assist in any way he can and his partner is less than enthused about it lol.

My review :

Even if love is not on their schedule, what will they do when it clings on those two stubborn warriors ...

Mrs Anna Hackett is one of the SF/paranormal authors I do love, her books are like chocolate chips, I love them to bits. I have nothing to do, only to put my brain to rest and to enjoy the ride.
After five books about Eon warriors finding their human mates, here is the first one about a human male and his Eon warrior mate.
And like all the previous stories, they have one hell of a journey in front of them before their HEA.
Even if Donovan made a mistake at a time, it was no angsty relationship, they both hold back because of some preconceived ideas induced by their past experiences. Yet, they accept their scorching chemistry even if Airen refuses to act on it.
But once they step on the last part of their road trip, things will speed up and denying their attraction will become far more difficult.
One more great new addition in this fun series, 4.5 stars.

Claim of Eon is book six in the Eon Warriors series by Anna Hackett.

I really enjoy this series and love returning to the world with its tough warriors. Its got great character development, action, romance, and depth. I was pulled in and swept away into space.

This novel has a twist in that it features an Eon Female Warrior with her love interest being a human (Terran) man. I liked the change up and enjoyed their dance.

Airen is a tough Eon Warrior who has worked hard to get to where is is in the Eon Army. She doesn’t trust easily and has been hurt in the past. This hurt has molded her and made her not believe in love.

Donovan is a tough warrior and dedicated to his job. He has no time for love and doesn’t believe in it.

Airen and Donovan’s romance is a reluctant one and it was sweet seeing them both learn to trust each other. We’re treated to loads of sexual tension and when they give in; oh boy it’s steamy.

We are treated to a prison planet, the Kantos bugs, surprises allies, and space pirates. It’s an action-packed adventure that never lets up.

Hackett always knows how to deliver in her novels. Come check out the Eon Warriors and enjoy the whirl wind of a ride.

Yes I loved being back in this world with its tough warriors facing off against awful aliens intent on destruction and annihilation. This book had a twist though as it features an Eon Female Warrior with her love interest being a Terran [human] man of colour. I liked that they both felt comfortable in their own skin and abilities and it was sweet seeing them both learn to trust each other no matter what was thrown at them.
So ok what was thrown at them ? Expect space pirates, prison planets, alien bugs , surprising allies and of course the brutal Kantos bugs ! I always love these stories but admit sometimes there's just too much for me but nevertheless I did enjoy this book and happily look forward to more especially if the Eon King is involved !
This voluntary take is of an advanced copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

This series is one of those that you read knowing you will get an action packed, kick arse journey through space. It’s Earth and the Eon Warriors battling the Kantos scourge. Each story in the series tells its own chapter, in the never ending war of survival. Great series

I absolutely adore how Anna masterfully weaves tales across any genre, captivating readers and immersing them in richly crafted worlds. Having journeyed through numerous titles in her repertoire, I can confidently say that every single one has been a delight to read.

Claim of Eon marks the sixth installment in the exhilarating Eon Warriors series, and it delivers a thrilling Sci-Fi romance that never fails to engage.

Amidst the backdrop of interstellar adventures, the Kantos is sabotaging their ships' helions, threatening the alliance between other species. What unfolds is a gripping saga filled with unexpected twists and high-stakes drama, taking the characters—and readers—on a wild ride.

Revisiting this series was a joy, and I found myself as captivated as I was the first time around, relishing every thrilling moment all over again.

Two hardheaded warriors who are dedicated to their jobs and think love isn't for them. HA. Yeah. These two are going to fall and fall hard.

Things I like here: Two people who are absolutely convinced they're not the type to fall in love end up head over heels despite themselves. Seriously, Airen sort of thinks she's unlovable due to a series of (FOR LACK OF A BETTER WAY OF PUTTING IT) unfortunate events and Donovan watched his mother pine for his jackhole father his entire life and wants NOTHING to do with long term relationships, etc.

Guess what? Airen is not the slightest bit unlovable (she just needed to find someone who wasn't intimidated by her career or ability to protect herself) and Donovan is down with falling in love when it happens. YES!

I also dig prison planet scenarios. The inmates dropped on the planet range from those who've gone fully savage and live by a "might makes right" motto and those who found a way to create a society with what they have.

There are some interesting developments with the Kantos that pop up (what does this mean for Earth!) and a whole slew of familiar faces to revisit. Good stuff all around, if I do say so!

HEART-STIRRING - SUSPENSE - ACTION & SPICY PASSIONATE ROMANCE

“Claim Of Eon” is a breathtaking page-turner read with hair-raising suspense, thrilling action, spicy-passionate romance, witty banter, scene descriptions that wow you, life-threatening situations, and a fantastic happy forever.  I adore the cover of this story as I believe it portrays genuine love.

Airen a powerful intelligent female Eon Warrior is independent and has trust issues with men. Donovan a Terran from earth is working with the Eons to stop the evil Kantos from annihilating their planets. While, on a dangerous mission together their attraction for each other explodes. They encounter vicious criminals, deadly Kantos and new friends who help them. Together they face multiple challenges before reaching their happy forever.

Enthralling well-written read with a convincing romance and credible engaging characters. Outstanding plot that lures you into the story and has you cheering for the characters. Donovan and Airen compliment each other and their love glows in this read. Backstories give the reader a better understanding of their personas. At, the conclusion I still craved more. Relishing this read,  I voluntarily reviewed a pre-release copy via the author.

Sweet, sexy, and packed full of adventure!

Brimming with awesomeness, this space adventure offers action aplenty, great use of imagination, tough warriors with soft hearts, and burning hot attraction.

I thoroughly enjoyed this latest story in the ongoing Eon Warriors saga. These space heros, Eon and Terran alike, never fail to melt my heart and make my pulse pound. And after the glimpse we get in this book, I super, SUPER cannot wait for the next!

What a wonderful read! I escaped into this story and it took me to world of fierce warriors and even fiercer Airen. She took on Terran Donovan and what a steamy time that is. Throw in some Amazonian women, monster bugs and sexy Oronis warriors and what a wild ride it is! I enjoyed it start to finish. I received an advanced copy of this book and freely leave this honest review.

CLAIM OF EON was packed with Anna Hackett's usual action and adventure but I found myself dragging a bit through the story. The series overall has gotten a little repetitive and this one didn't offer anything new for the reader. I really liked how kick butt Airen is as one of the few female Eon warriors and Donovan makes the perfect match because he respects and loves her strength. At first these two are a bit oil and water -- Airen being more regimented and serious and Donovan being impulsive and easy going -- but they balance each other out nicely. Overall, a good read but this isn't my favorite series by Anna Hackett.

This is one of those stories that leaps from one crisis to another. It’s frying pans and fires all the way down, cooked by a chemical reaction made from the combustible relationship between Airen and Donovan – and the heat of incoming weapons fire.

The Eon Warriors series, beginning with Edge of Eon, takes place in a not-too-horribly distant future. It’s both epic space opera and epic science fiction romance in one terrific package. Not that all of the Eon Warriors don’t seem to come in absolutely fantastic packages all by themselves!

In this version of the future, the Eons are one of several advanced races that are out exploring the galaxy, and the Terrans of Earth are basically uncouth upstarts just beginning their exploration of the stars. First contact did not go at all well, because the original Terran delegation seems to have consisted entirely of entitled assholes who weren’t able to even admit that they weren’t the superior race.

Sound familiar?

So the Terrans went it alone, developing a tough and scrappy attitude towards space exploration – at least until they ran headlong into the insectoid Kantos. Or the Kantos found them. That first contact was NEVER going to go well, as the Kantos are a race that expands territory purely by conquest and extermination. They don’t negotiate with anyone about anything.

The Terrans are outgunned at every turn. Even the assholes finally admit that we need help. And the only help they know about are the Eon Warriors they pissed off early on. Their plot to get the Eons’ attention – and on their side – is as assholish as the first contact was. Just with much better results.

That story is in the first three terrific books in the series, Edge of Eon, Touch of Eon and Heart of Eon.

By the point of this story, the Eon Empire and the Terrans are very much on the same side. As the saying goes, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. The Kantos are very much a mutual enemy, and in their mutual need to keep them at bay – if not on the run – the Eons and the Terrans have bonded. Sometimes literally, as several Eons have found their mates among the Terrans.

And that’s where this story begins. The Eons and the Terrans are experimenting with joint operations and mixed crews. They each need to learn the strengths of the other, and to get over any lingering prejudices that remain from the decades when their peoples strove to deliberately keep half a galaxy between them.

But the Eons, who have been having less and less success finding mates among their own people, have to admit that in the scrappy Terrans they have found something their own people have been lacking for some time.

Successful relationships. Romantic partnerships. Pair-bonding. Except that, as this story opens, neither of the protagonists is looking for anything of the kind. Or even believes that it exists – at least not for them.

Which means that when they do bond, each is incapable of accepting that the other is all in. And they are both afraid that between the Kantos on their tail, the engineered bioweapons that patrol the prison planet they’ve crashed on, and the prison wardens who kill on sight, they won’t live long enough to find out.

Escape Rating B: The romance in Claim of Eon could be seen as the flip-side of the romance in book 4 in the series, Kiss of Eon. Albeit with a bit of a twist. Where in the earlier book, the Terran is a ship’s captain, and the Eon is an exchange officer on her ship, they are not exactly equals. It’s her ship and her crew and he’s there because he’s the one who has to follow her orders. This time around, while the genders and species are swapped, what makes it really interesting, and provides some unanswered questions for the future, is that it’s not about whose ship and crew is behind them this time. Second Commander Airen Kann-Felis and Sub-Captain Donovan Lennox seem to be at about the same rank. Both of them in the middle of careers that have not yet reached the pinnacle of a ship’s captaincy.

They both begin the story with career goals yet to reach, and personal demons hiding in their emotional baggage that add to the difficulties they will face in any relationship. Not that either of them intends a relationship when this story begins.

Donovan wouldn’t mind a friends-with-benefits relationship at all, but the double-standard is still very much in play. As one of the rare female Eon warriors, and an orphan who has no family connections to help her along, Airen feels that she has to put her career first at all times. She is unfortunately all too aware – and from first-hand experience – that her male counterparts among the Eon Warriors have a difficult time – to say the least – accepting that a woman can be every bit the driven warrior that they are. So she shies away from relationships.

Donovan’s experience with bad relationships is second-hand. His dad was a loser who left his mother to raise him alone. That she never recovered emotionally from that betrayal leads him to believe that love is for losers, and that relationships are foolish.

Of course they’re both wrong.

There’s also a big story overarching the individual romances in each book in the series. The Kantos are after both Eon and Earth, and the events in this story portray their latest attempts. And while they fail in their pursuit – this time – by the time the story ends we’re aware that they haven’t given up – merely changed their focus.

The Kantos have had no luck pursuing the Eons, so as this book ends the ship receives word that the enemy has gone after what they perceive is the weaker link in the alliance. They’ve attacked Earth. Which means that the next book is going to see at least some of the Eon Warriors racing to assist their allies.

But in this story, we have a reluctant romance going on in the midst of an out-of-the-frying-pan-into-the-fire, edge of the seat adventure, as Airen and Donovan seem to escape one Kantos trap only to find themselves enmeshed in another. So come to Claim of Eon for the romance, and stay for the thrill ride. Or the other way around! Either way, if you love science fiction romance, you’ll be glad you did!

A good series that just keeps getting better! Airen is a female Eon warrior, a rarity, and Second Commander. Donovan is a human Sub-Captain assigned to her ship. They're attracted to each other but she's determined to keep things professional despite the temptation. Donovan doesn't believe in love but he knows Airen tempts him like no other woman. Their enemy the Kantos want Airen and will stop at nothing to get her. When they get stranded far from home they must rely on each other. Airen realizes Donovan is her mate but knowing his views on love says nothing. Donovan eventually figures it out and discovers with her he's ready to love. We also see a few of the other couples in the series and the next book looks to a fun read.

3.5 stars.

For a change, we've got a female Eon Warrior with a male Earth Commander on an exchange program. Both 2IC in their respective ships, so the dynamics are not too out of whack.

Again, lots of action with the Kantos, pirates and this time a prison planet. The universe Ms Hackett is building does seem to have a lot of very unfriendly planets and scary creatures. But again, there is that odd one that seems to like helping out our MCs.

This is also the last book with an audio version at the moment. So will now take a break until there are more available.

For those who are interested in short, fun SFR reads and not too much angst and some sexy times, and don't mind the formula, this is one series that I think fits the bill very well.

Whoop. We're back in Eon Territory again. I LOVE this series of alien badasses and the humans that fall in love with them (some easier than others).

This book had no fanfare about the hero being a dark-skinned male, the cover told you everything you needed to know. No making a statement, no tubthumping, no declaring itself BMWM, etc. It's a sci-fi romance plain and simple - no political crap, no trying to make itself cool. Just a damn good story - who the hell cares what colour, sex or ability the leads are!

Airen is tough, badass and more than capable. But still, she feels she has to be better than her male warriors, even though they just see her as a Warrior, not a female warrior. Sure, they may be a bit rarer but that just makes them that much more coveted on a team.

Donovan, oh my! He is just perfect like all Ms Hacketts heroes. He's Alpha, local, funny, heart-warming and ever so naughty! He gets Airen all hot under the collar without trying too hard. I love the way he is perfectly at home letting her take the lead, fight her own battles without coming to her aid like she was some damsel in distress.

Add space pirates, gruesome prison planets, damn Kantos bugs and some awesomesauce new allies in shining armour! I always want a certain King to be the next in line but I'm willing to wait - although not patiently! Great story, superb characters and hot, hot passion!

Another fast and fantastic read by Anna Hackett. Even though I know there will inevitably be a happy ending, I’m at the edge of my seat as Donovan and Airen fight the Kantos, horrible prisoners and other bad guys to survive. Well written with a strong, take no prisoners heroine and a man who is equal parts alpha and so supportive as a partner to a strong woman, this book celebrates the strength of partnership. I love this series and can’t wait for the next one!

On how I love this series💖💖💖

5 fabulous 🌟's for Donovan and Airen. Terran sub-captain Donovan is a highly skilled warrior and is on loan to the Eon fleet to learn e everything he can about their ships technology and fighting styles. He's brave, a bit reckless, loyal and will have your back in a fight. He doesn't do long term relationships, he was how his mother suffered after his father !eff and he vowed he'd never call into the trap that is love. Airen, second in command of the Renguard of the Eon fleet has worked her way up from a cadet to a high taking officer in the Eon fleet. She was an a diner as a baby and easier as award of the Empire she has never known true love and caring. He .let valuable lesson learned was that everyone leaves. These two incredible warriors are seen to each other both afraid to want more than just a bright flare of passion. Just when it looks !like their fried ship will turn to more space pirates working I league with the Kantos strike and like always leave death and destruction in their wake. The Kantos have a new plan they want a re ale Eon warrior they think they can destroy the bond between a few and and her helion much easier than they could a male. They target Airen and Donovan has to confront some head truths about himself, his last and what he truly wants for his future. When a very dangerous mission Goes side ways Airen and Donovan have to rely on each other in order to survive. And realize it's more that just fleeting passion between them. It's a true loving mate bond if they are both courageous enough to grab it with both Hanna and never let go. This is an Awesome ride with lots of thrilling adventure, danger and smoldering passion to make any winter night feel like a blazing fire. Highly recommend its an excellent addition to a fantastic series.💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

Second Commander Airen Kann-Fellis has fought hard for her career and is proud to work on the Rengard. She has no time for men but the handsome and smart Sub-Captain makes her want to give in.

I am so excited that we finally get a female Eon warriors perspective. Airen is a dangerous warrior who has dedicated her life to her career. She has no family and has some major trust issues. Donovan is also dedicated to his career. He doesn’t believe in love after seeing love destroy his family. These two both have a lot of trust issues and pain to work through while fighting for their lives.

While not my favorite in the series, I still really enjoyed this one. I can always count on Hackett to create a unique world with great characters and a lot of action. I am looking forward to the next book since it seems that it will potentially be set on Earth.

Anna Hackett has been on my top 10 must read authors for quite a while now and I just don't think that she knows how to write a bad or boring book! Ms. Hackett has a way of grabbing onto her readers from the 1st page to the last with her fantastic storytelling and world building. This book, like all her others, is one wild roller coaster ride of emotions, action and adventure. You will definitely need a tall glass of iced tea and a fan while reading this one, the chemistry is off the charts. Donovan and Airen's story is one of fighting for what you believe in and knowing that you will be willing to die to protect those that you love. This story has everything that you could want: comedy, action, drama, adventure, danger and of course hot romance (it is a Anna Hackett book after all! This is the 6th book in the Eon Warriors series and you will be sorry if you miss it, as well as the others in this fantastic series! Well this follows the patterns of all the other that I've read except that it is a female Eon warrior and an Earthling. Two independent people that claim to not want a long term relationship. Woman pushes man away because of past relationship issues and trying to rise above the sexism. They flirt are attracted but she fights any closer and he doesn't want a long term so only pushes slightly. Then their ship is attacked, they end up crashing, this time after being thrown through a worm hole, and they crash on a planet. This is a recurring them that I've now read in every one of these, I haven't read them in order so have skip a couple to get to this one, this is the 4th or 5th. That is a lot of crashes, and planets that just happen to be close by that support human life... hmm.

Well that was what I didn't like, pretty much the plot of the war and fights on the ground and crashing on planets. What I liked was their relationship and the symbiot relationship with them both. It ends up being a low 3 in rating from me. Scifi fluff rating.

Donovan Lennox had made a few mistakes, as a Terran warrior he used to make decisions quickly, but he recognized that this wasn't helping him with Airen so, it was time to change the technique. Airen did not need to be saved, she was more than capable to save herself and the Terran had to understand it, even if it was in the hard way. Interesting how both dealt with their insecurities in the ways of the heart. Donovan was a catch! I really enjoy these thrilling, action-packed, adventure and suspenseful Eon Warriors stories with the monstrous Kantos fights, that are scary just imagining them, the romance, the passion and the way the helian shows what's already obvious. I was intrigued about the nightmasters and how the fight against the Kantros is going to take a new turn. Voluntarily reviewed this copy that I received free and liked it.

Sub-Captain Donovan Lennox from Earth’s Space Corps has been assigned to work with and learn from the warriors onboard the Rengard. Second Commander Airen Kann-Felis is an Eon Warrior also onboard the Rengard. Earth and Eon have created an alliance to fight off the Kantos—a race of bug aliens who take over various worlds and destroy them, steal their resources, and kill and sometimes eat the inhabitants. Needless to say, this group wants to find a way to stop the Kantos!

This book flows at a breakneck pace! If anything could go wrong, there’s a good chance it happens here. On the flip side, there are many times when things go right as well. One thing you can always count on in Anna Hackett Book, is that there will be dangerous situations, people will get hurt, and someone falls in love.

Awesome story about a Terra n man and an alien woman finding love

Donovan is a warrior, is an alien spaceship Learning how to run the technology, and is fascinated with an alien warrior woman. Airen is a as fascinated with Donovan as he is with her. She is slowly winning her hard earned trust issues. They are fighting the Kantos (bug like enemies) hovering over Earth and Eao Territories. Will they be able to show their love for each other?

The characters are fierce, complicated and intriguing mixture of warriors tempered by Constance fighting the Kantos. This fast pace d drama has several twists which have not been showing previously. I find the description of Oblivion to be most intriguing. Very highly recommended to readers. I can hardly wait for the next book to come out in the series.

The saga continues...

The Eon warriors are working with the Terrans, which means Sub-Captain Donovan Lennox, has been assigned to the Rengard, where the Eon Second Commander Aerin Kann Felis has caught his eye.
When they discover the Kantos have an unusual interest in Aerin, and in any female Eon warriors, they must try and find out exactly what the Kantos have planned.
Through a variety of different places, and facing a host of dangers, Aerin and Donovan soon learn what it means to trust and love.
Anna’s books are always enjoyable to read, although it is part of a series with an overarching storyline, the book is a standalone romance with a happy ending. It should be read as part of the series though, as the background setting itself is an ongoing story.
If you love sci-fi romances, then you will enjoy the Eon Warrior series!
