This trilogy has been re-released as the stand-alone, Infamous
Connor Even after all these years, I still wanted her. Sophie Strong walked out of my life five years ago to become America's next pop idol. But everything didn't go as planned. And now she's back in D.C. Back within my reach. I was just a kid when she left, but I built my fortune while she was gone. I will have her, and she will come to me willingly. This time, I'm not letting her go.
Sophie How did everything go so wrong?⠀ Everyone hates me now.⠀ One moment I was the world's hottest pop star and the next I'm back in D.C. trying to finish my college degree because it's all I have left.⠀ And of course I have to run into the one man I don't have the guts to face.⠀ Connor and I were best friends but what are we now?⠀ And why do I have these feelings for him after all this time?⠀
Chasing the Idol is Book 1 in the Infamous Trilogy
Well, this certainly looks like a really nice beginning to what seems to be a promising trilogy. This author is totally new, and I did some research to find out more. Imagine my surprise when I read that this is actually her first published work, and it definitely does not look as a debut to me.
This is the story of Connor and Sophie – two college friends, who ended their friendship five years ago, in pursuit of a better future. Five years later, they meet again, some things have changed, while others remain the same as the last time they saw each other five years ago…no time or distance could change those feelings that overwhelm them. Should they fight them or try to understand what that thing between them is?
Definitely a nice second chance romance with solid storyline, a bit clichéd at several moments, but engaging nonetheless. The characters are so well developed and relatable, as you read you manage to understand their reasons and their feelings. It contains enough drama, sweet and funny moments to keep readers interested from beginning to the very end. Their push and pull relationship will make you laugh, while their incredible passion with light touch of BDSM will most definitely make you blush. And the cliffhanger is simply unbearable.
If you are looking for an entertaining best friends to lovers’ romance, with a sexy alpha hero and adorable heroine, then be sure to read this one.
After leaving college five years prior to pursue a music career, Sophie comes back to school to finish out her degree after her music career crashed. When she went back to school she ran into her old best friend, Conner, who she abandoned without any notice and ignored for the next five years. She was not prepared to see him again let alone intern at his company in order to graduate.
With this being a trilogy I was beyond excited that it wasn't a long drawn out slow burn getting these to together. I loved that they both had their reservations at first but didn't hold back when jumping into more than friends. I was pleasantly surprised what I believe to be a debut book and was very disappointed that the book ended when it did. I was so engrossed in the story and was not ready for it to be over. This was a fun and steamy beginning to this trilogy and I am eagerly awaiting the next installment.
This is the first book I've read from this author and all I can say is.....WOW! After reading the blurb for this book I was intrigued and couldn't wait to read this story which definitely didn't disappoint. From the first chapter to the last I was seduced by Connor, the dominant, dirty talking, sexy as hell businessman and cheering on Sophie the sweet, beautiful, fiery redhead that was ready to take back her life after leaving her celebrity status behind. These two friends denied themselves the one thing they truly wanted.... each other, all because they were afraid of destroying what they had. If you're a friends-to-lovers junkie than this is the book for you but be prepared you most definitely will either scream or throw your kindle with the last few pages of this roller-coaster ride that will have you begging for the next book!
Ivy Wild did a good job on this story, the plot was written well. Connor and Sophie were two people that may have their obstacles but they were meant for each other. The connection that they shared was strong and the chemistry between them was sexy. They were good together. I enjoyed their story. This was a good story. Thanks, Ivy Wild. Good work :)
Wow!! what a fantastic read I absolutely loved it, I couldn't put it down, It pulled me in from the start...
This is a new author to me and I will definitely be reading more of her books!! I was very kindly offered a ARC of this book and I am so glad I accepted it! (I loved it that much I purchased a copy..) It's a best friends to lovers, with a alpha hot as hell and some steamy action!
I found it very easy to read, very well written with relatable characters. Oh and a hell of a cliffhanger! Brilliant ending, I can't wait for the next book in this Trilogy.
This is a definite MUST READ! I highly recommend it
This book is a quick read. As part one in a trilogy, it ends on a cliffhanger and leaves several unanswered questions. However, parts two and three are available now.
As the description says, Sophie and Connor went from best friends to complete strangers overnight when Sophie left college to pursue her singing career. Five years later has left her washed up by the industry and she's back in D.C. to finish her degree. And the man she thought she was completely over just can't seem to stay away from her.
This book has a lot going on. It’s a second chance romance, best-friends-to-lovers, professor and student, CEO and intern, and a bit of BDSM, all in one love story.
This story introduces several interesting characters including friends and villains. It’s also written from a perspective that allows readers to know what is going on from all perspectives.
A extremely enjoyable second chance romance. I love the the chemistry between the characters. The plotline grabbed me and let me wanting more. Very realistic story. There a reason why this story has high views. Can't wait to read more from this author.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
LOVED, LOVED, LOVED THIS BOOK!!! FIVE STARS AND MORE!!!
Debut book by Ivy Wild, even though, there is nothing debut about it! This reads so well, i would never have guessed that this is the first published work of the author! Congrats to that, Ivy Wild! Connor and Sophie are FIRE! College friends whose friendship "ended" five years ago when Sophie pursued her music career and left a devastated Connor behind. Then, they meet 5 years later and try to understand what this thing between them is... Friendship? Relationship? What does Sophie want from Connor? When they finally succumb to what they feel... the FIREWORKS happen! Who knew that the shy boy from college would turn into such a dirty-talking, dominant man? Reading their sex scenes got me all... you know! But those scenes were HOT! FIRE!
So moments of truth... This book is number 1 from a trilogy. I usually don't read book series, unless they are inter-connected standalones. I hate the wait between books just to see what happened between the characters. For me that's a big NO. Yet, i will DEFINITELY read parts 2 & 3. Reading this book was so easy in the sense that it keeps you interested, hot, curious, etc etc. It is not overly long, so the story does not drug to unnecessary storylines just to fill the pages. And since book 2 is already out and book 3 will be out this week, then i will definitely want to see how their story unfolds in the upcoming books.
Why did i love this book? First of all, i am a romance reader but who likes to read about second-chances and friends-to-lovers stories. This book delivered all that and so much more. I like to read about the sex in the books. I don't find it realistic to write a book about love and the couple either does not have sex, or they do with the covers on, or it's just "and then the hero and heroine spent a steamy night together"... Nop! I want to read about the passion between the characters. And what frustrates me with many books, is that they are either too lovey-dovey (without adequate sex scenes), or they are too erotic and focused on sex that they do not make me feel that the characters feel passion, lust, or love when they are not having sex. Well, THIS BOOK DOES! Even before they come together i was like "Come on Connor, just take her, i can see how much you want her", or i would think "Bravo, Sophie, go get it girl". For me, i felt the love, angst, lust they were feeling towards one another without them being intimate, and the book also delivered some VERY hot sex scenes with dirty-talking, and a bit of dominance. Congratulations to Ivy Wild for a great first novel, and hope to see more from her!!!
*** ARC provided in exchange for an honest review. And an honest review it was!!! GO GET THIS BOOK ***
I was contacted by the author to see if I wanted to read this book for free in exchange for a review. I read the blurb and was intrigued. Now I have to admit this is not the kind of book I normally read, but I was happily surprised and like it really much.
The characters are relatable, and you can connect to their struggles easily. They are brave and bit funny, so there is some comic relief during all the drama that is happening. I like how they get to know each other again after being separated for so many years. They have changed since then and are somewhat new people. I think there was some really great character development going on.
I liked this story and how it's written. It is easy to follow, and there are a few plot twists that will keep you surprised. This book is drama-filled, but there are some cute and comic moments in between. And of course hot sex. The sex scenes were steamy with a pinch of light BDSM, which I liked. The plot had few cliche moments, but overall they were small and fitting to the story.
There was definitely cliffhanger at the end of this book, but you just have to read the next book to find out more. I'm definitely going to.
I would recommend this book to you if this sounds something you would enjoy reading.
This book follows Sophie and Connor, college best friends who haven't seen each other in 5 years. Sophie became America's newest pop sensation in that time, while Connor stayed in D.C and successfully built up his own business.
I loved Connor. He was a total alpha male, but also not afraid to admit his feelings and show his love. I liked that he refused to be with Sophie until she had made up her mind and he gave her the space she needed. I usually prefer enemies-to-lover romances, but their little game and trying to one-up each other was really amusing and made this one of the best friend-to-lover romances I have read. It was fast-paced and I finished it in a couple of hours.
I find it hard to forgive Sophie for not calling Connor or even saying goodbye to him when she left before. She knew he loved her and admitted that she used his feelings for her own convenience. She then had the audacity to be annoyed when he didn't automatically jump into bed with her?! However, I liked that her character did develop and she repeatedly tried to warn Connor about any negative press being in a relationship could cause him and his company.
I can't wait for the second installment after the cliffhanger ending!!!
Chasing the Idol is a steamy romance debut novel. And wow it was an amazing read! Five years ago, Sophie left school to pursue her passion, music. Upon leaving, she left behind her (hot) bestfriend, Connor. The story takes place when 5 years later, they meet again. Sophie is forced to go back to school and in order to graduate, she must intern for Connor's company (who, may i add, has not been in contact with her for 5 YEARS!!)
In the beginning, both of them held themselves back but, to my greatest pleasure, they gave it their all when they became more than just friends. I did not know this was gonna be a trilogy until the later part of my reading and I was filled with happiness because I get to see how much they'd develop. I read this one in 2 days because if how I was so in to it! I love their connection and repertoire. The sassy-ness of Sophie balances the alpha male in Connor and wow they are both so hot! I am very honored to be a part of the ones who read this first and I truly see this book as a big sucess! And with that ending, I can't wait for the next book.
Ivy Wild is a new to me author and one I can't wait to get to know more with her thrilling and sexy romances!
Chasing The Idol is loaded with steam, feels, appealing characters and a plot that had me sighing and falling in love. There was a push/pull between Sophie and Connor that snapped and crackled like lightening in the air! It was exhilarating and sweet and really romantic. The book was put together rather nicely and was finely written. It was a fast paced story with a lot of chemistry and heart. I can't wait to read the next Infamous story!
Chasing The Idol gets a STEAMY FOUR AND A HALF HOT AND HEAVY STARS!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I love these story. I couldn't put the book down. Conner and Sophie have strong chemistry and I enjoy the banter between them. This story has panty melting heat, and it is emotional. The story flowed effortlessly with a few twists and turns that well keep you glued from start to finish. The emotional journey they take figuring out where to go now with their second chance.
Loved getting into Sophie and Conners story and getting some back story on when they were younger and how they are now. Can't wait to find out more about her past and what happened in her career!! Can't wait to dive into book 2

Conner Driscoll and Sophia Stronglen were best friends in college. Five years ago Sophia Stronglen turns into Sophie Strong and was hurled into the life of a pop star and didn’t turn back. When scandal erupts and rumors spread Sophie runs back home and no one knows where she went. She starts the last semester she has to finish college on the down low, to find her best friend Connor is a professor and a business owner and he is HOT! Connor has always been in love with Sophie but Sophie doesn’t want to hurt Connor by getting him mixed up with the scandal and rumors and ruin his reputation. But Connor isn’t backing down and wants her for good no matter what.
Wow! Let me just start off by saying this book was very sexy! There’s lots of good times in this book! I thought the story was really great and I love the characters. I’m very excited to see how book two turns out. I’m definitely into this trilogy til the end!
Wow, Ivy Wild is a new to me author. And I was glad I read this incredible story between Sophie and Connor. So much heat between these two and I couldn't get enough of their relationship. I can't wait to continue with this series.
Chasing the Idol by Ivy Wild takes you on a journey of emotions that does justice to her last name.
From best friends to estranged and then to lovers, this novel - the first one of the Infamous Trilogy, surrounds the story of Connor Driscoll, former track boy athlete who became a true Alpha male, and Sophia Stronglen, who from a normal college girl turned into the famous Sophie Strong. Oh, well, this is when everything goes south from there.
To be honest, at first I didn't like Soph. I mean, most people are blind to their best friend being in love with them, but she wasn't. She knew all along he loved her and still decided to up and leave without saying anything to him. I must admit, I judged her for her choices and I didn't blame Connor in the slightest for pushing her away, forcing her in a way to make up her mind and claim him. Because he claimed her a decade ago and now it was her turn.
When she came back in town, attempting to salvage whatever is left of her life after a fall from the heights of fame, and when, at last, she chooses to pursue Connor, that is when things get real real hot. And then, when finally emotions get involved and you think they'll have the happily ever after they deserve, Ivy Wild goes and just toys with our emotions.
As aforementioned, it is a rollercoaster. At least in my case, I hated Soph, then I loved her. I got annoyed at Connor for being a coward, but I loved him for stating his claim. I was exasperated alongside Soph when Connor was gone for the business meeting. I was... let's say intrigued at the hot scenes. I was definitely pissed off at Connor's 'ex', if we can call her that, and I really wanted to slap her one across, but unfortunately I had to resume to slamming my hand against the keyboard. And I'm not even going to get into how frustrated I was with the ending... A cliffhanger. And I can't wait to get my hands on the second book.
This is the journey Ivy Wild took me on with this book and bless her heart for putting up with my whining.
The novel is well written and has the right amount of everything to make you devour every word. I certainly recommend this book to all of you romance lovers who don't mind a hot passage to spicy things up.
This was a great start to this trilogy! It was face paced, steamy and just an overall entertaining read! I loved the characters! Sophie and Connor were on fire and had amazing chemistry, you could feel the heat coming off the pages. Connor was everything you want in a hero and his whole personality was just dreamy. I loved the way Ivy wrote Sophie and Skylar's friendship with such easiness, they just clicked and it felt so real to me. This book was left on a cliffhanger and I am excited to see where the second book will take us! Will Connor and Sophie be able to beat the odds against them? This is the first book I've read by Ivy and I loved it! It definitely won't be my last and I can't wait to read Running From Fate!
This is the first book in the Infamous Trilogy which revolves around Connor and Sophie who were once best friends before Sophie left to become a huge pop sensation.
Now Sophie returns back and bumps into Connor and both of them can't seem get enough of each other. This book has definitely ticked all the right boxes in terms of romance, emotions, friendship...
It also has steamy scenes which keep you wanting more of Connor and Sophie... Although it ended on a cliffhanger, I can't wait to see what happens next... Overall it was an amazing book and I finished it one go..
Recommend it to anyone who love a good read and like friends to lover relationship books.
“And of course, all that glitters isn’t gold. It had taken reality a long time to pull the wool away from her eyes, but it finally did, as it does to everyone. And when she actually saw all that she had gotten for all that she’d given up, it hardly seemed like a fair trade.”
Chasing the Idol is a timeless love story. Connor and Sophie have a beautiful dynamic.
The way Ivy describes Connor’s character development while Sophie was gone is amazing! From college kid, to sexy-three-piece-suit-alpha-male. Swoons 🥰
Sophie is an incredibly lovable character. I feel like everyone has had a point in their life when their reputation was in jeopardy, so it makes it easy to identify with her situation.
Their love story had/has so many twists, turns, and hangups, it will keep you wanting more! Ivy produced steamy love scenes, emotional character connections, and (of course) an antagonist everyone loves to hate!!
I don’t want to say much more and ruin the story, but there is a cliff hanger! I cannot wait to dive into Running from Fate so I can get alllllllllll the details of what happened in Sophie’s time away from Connor and what will come of their relationship now!
This is the first book I've read by this author and I absolutely loved it! Ivy Wild’s book Chasing The Idol sucks you in from the beginning and leaves you wanting more!
Connor and Sophie had been best friends until Sophie disappears without a word to chase her singing carrier. Five years later Sophie decides to return home to finish her degree after a huge scandal ruins her career. On the first day back on campus, she runs into Connor Driscoll, Sophie’s former best friend who went from shy and sweet former track athlete to a hot and successful Alpha male businessman. Sophie has always thought of Connor as a friend but Connor has always wanted more and was heartbroken when she left him behind five years ago without a single word or explanation. Will Sophie finally realize what she could’ve had all along? Will Connor forgive her for leaving him behind? Will he still want her or has he moved on? You’ll have to read Chasing The Idol to find out! If you haven't read this book yet I highly recommend it, you'll love it!
This was a great start to Connor and Sophie’s love affair. Best friends in college but ripped apart due to her being selected for stardom Connor was never able to tell Sophie how he truly felt. The story picks up with Sophie restarting her life and fate giving him the chance to fix the unrequited love he has always had for her.
These two characters are equally kinky and sweet making for some sexy as hell scenes, Sophie may remember Connor as being a bit shy but he’s all grown up now. He is so possessive and I loved it. I was a puddle for him. There is just the right amount of flirtation game from the beginning as they toy with each other, seeing who will fold first. Once they give in though there’s no denying that their chemistry was meant to be way more than just friends.
Ivy has a bit of a different way of story telling and I grew to like it more and more as I read. Chasing the Idol is deliciously dirty and addictive, leaving you wondering if Ivy and Connor’s new found passion will sustain them through the fight for love or will it fizzle out as quickly as it started.
