I found this book a bit disappointing. I was expecting the plot to be more about aliens, but instead, it focused more on politics and keeping certain information hidden from the general public.

The pacing was slow, and I found myself skimming paragraphs quite often, waiting for something really interesting to happen.

Walker was an ok character. He's obviously an important man who doesn't trust anyone easily and likes things to be precise and organised.

I'm not sure if I would read any other books related to this one

The only good thing about this book was the narrator.

Intriguing. With way more politics than I like, so I will have to prepare for that going into the series.

Very short into to key characters.

This story is a very short intro to characters in the Not Alone series. We are introduced to Richard Walker, Ben Gold, and, of course, a very young Dan McCarthy. Among other things this story show a meeting between Walker and McCarthy while the latter was on a school trip to the IDA.
