A billionaire player craves the one woman he can't have. An icy British princess...
Friday nights have a routine. Drinks with my brothers. Maybe a casual hookup later. Then the ice princess walks into the bar. And it’s game over for me.
I can’t figure her out. She runs hot and cold. She turns me inside-out.
I like to keep my one-night stands cut and dried—my ambitions outweigh my emotions every time. Until she disappears without a trace. And I discover her little secret. She’s an actual princess.
I need more than one night from her. Much more. A woman like that deserves the whole fairy tale. She deserves a charming prince. Too bad I’m the one planning to earn all her happy endings…

The Billionaire’s Princess is the first book in the Fairy Tale Billionaires’ series. This is a sweet, light book, an easy read that I thoroughly enjoyed; it was a true delight to read after reading so many antsy and dark romances for the past few weeks, this was the book I needed to recharge my senses and come alive loving a book as much as I loved this one. Now please do not get me wrong, my go to romances are always the bully ones, but this one just made me feel happy and woozy in all the right places. This is the first book that I have read by Ava Ryan and I have no idea as to why I have not come across this author before. This may have been my first book, but it will not be my last.
The male lead, Damon, is a successful billionaire who is in the real estate business with his two brothers. He is the oldest of the 3 brothers. Damon is not the relationship type of guy at all until one night he meets the woman of his dreams, Carly, our female lead. They hook up that one night and she leaves him the next morning with no number for him to reach her at. We later find out she didn’t want to have the ackward next day morning speech whatsoever with him and she is really a monarch of the British Monarchy, Princess Charlotte of England. Deep down, Carly wants to actually be free to live her life free of the royal monarchy. They actually find each other again after 3 weeks and their chemistry is nothing but amazing. You really need to read this story! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Entretenida, sin más, ni tiene ninguna novedad. Mucha atracción desde el inicio (too much?); me ha faltado alguna escena, pero bueno... para pasar el rato
It was a quick read and definitely had some hot scenes, but overall, I wasn't a fan of the man characters.
I can love a hero who appears to be nothing more than a possessive alpha hole - AT FIRST - but I need to see some growth. Damon was very one-note and unlikable. He also has some serious abandonment issues, and after a while he came off a little whiny. I was tired of hearing about his mom. Carly was too: "Don't think I'm a monster. I get what he’s saying. Honestly, I do. But I am so sick of his invisible mother and her horrible claw marks all over this man. I’m so sick of her keeping him from me and him refusing to fight the good fight. He doesn’t have to let his past ruin our future."
Carly is mostly sweet, but she's also incredibly naive. She says she doesn't need her family's money, and she's going to make it on her own, but her father's credit cards pay for her rent, food, clothes, and car, she's never had a job, and she's also somehow unaware that any internship she's ever had was secured by her father calling in favors. She thinks she's going to maintain her royalty lifestyle uninterrupted by selling her paintings (and maybe that's not completely crazy since she's royalty, so people will buy her stuff even if it sucks). And she also insists on being friends with her ex-fiance because it will make her feel better even though it's 1. leading him on, and 2. making the guy she's currently seeing uncomfortable.
Finally, I wasn't feeling some of the author's word and phrase choices - especially with Damon. Examples that made me say ICK: Damon described Carly's p as tasting like "fresh oysters," and he also said, "God knows what will be left of me after her. Probably just a lump of ruined flesh and a stray pubic hair or two." Nah, man. I'm out.
There were some elements of instant attraction/love to this one that really worked for Damon and Carly's story. I liked their initial meeting, their attraction and the way both of them handled their meeting, their attraction, and also the revelation as to who Carly is...and that this was not going to be a simple romance.
I think royal fairy tales will always appeal to me, and to a lot of readers, because the world of the royal family seems so perfect, and like such a fairy tale in itself that a romance set in this world seems like even more of a romance because of the setting.
I thought the issues in the story were resolved a little quickly, and possibly a little simplistically, but hey it's a romance and what you are expecting (and reading for) is the happy ending, even if it may not actually work in real life.
This was my first title by Ava Ryan and it definitely won't be my last. I enjoyed and recommend this title.
I adore reading new authors. I especially adore reading new authors when their stories engage and surprise me. Ava Ryan is a new author to me. I love a good billionaire romance. I love stories that involve princesses. I know this isn’t everyone’s type of romance, but these stories hold hope in a way that oftentimes is lost in something darker. Now, that isn’t to say that Ava Ryan’s newest book doesn’t carry any angst. It’s a contemporary romance for sure, but the idea of a handsome billionaire finding his love in a British princess reminds me of the fairy tales of yore, and it’s a story where someone like me can lose myself for a few hours.
Why should you trust yourself to Ava Ryan’s The Billionaire’s Princess?
*This is the first book of a story of three brothers. I love when authors create book universes in families. And these brothers are complicated adding some dark to Ryan’s romance. Three impossibly handsome brothers meeting three impossibly gorgeous women. That is a formula for “good romance.”
*Damon is a type A, ambitious hero who is not interested in a relationship. Until he is. Interestingly enough, Ryan gives his point of view quite a bit of the story, so we observe that he becomes enamored with her heroine, Carly, quickly. It’s also one of the areas of The Billionaire’s Princess where I struggled the most. Don’t get me wrong. I adore Damon, but Ryan’s ability to create believability in choosing Carly almost instantly after a lifetime of playboy-hood was shaded. When a hero is a commitment-phobe, then, as the writer, I, the reader, need proof through the development of the story that his insta-interest makes sense beyond a physical connection because that is how Ryan portrays him. Then, she quickly changes his mind, causing him to question. Now, she couches this in his history, and I understand her development of his character. I simply have questions about him, questions that I feel I shouldn’t have if there had been some different choices made. Overall, though, Damon is the type of billionaire you love to drown in.
*Carly is a revelation in this story. She is not your typical princess. She is tenacious and persistent. She is clear about her aspirations especially in the shadow of her father’s expectations. For me, she is the highlight of this book.
*I love that the happy ending is an ending for now. It follows in the chronology of the story, and it doesn’t make leaps to the future. This is wise on Ryan’s part because she has two more brothers’ stories to publish. I imagine with book 3 we might see further into the future. I simply love when authors keep a seemingly fictional story grounded in our sense of time and space in the “real world.”
Should you read Ava Ryan’s The Billionaire’s Princess? Indeed. Above all of its positives is her message, one that we should foster. She suggests in her newest book that we need to let go of past hurts. That’s the tie that binds the entire story together. While it might not seem fresh or new, it’s a message that we need to marinate in, as so many readers struggle with their own pasts, this one included. As Damon’s expectations of himself in the connection to his past almost drown him, it’s an admonishment that life cannot be fully realized until we move beyond our past and live abundantly in our present. That is a message I can get behind.
5 star Review The Billionaire’s Princess by Ava Ryan
This is the first book that I have read by Ava Ryan and I have no idea as to why I have not come across this author before. This may have been my first book, but it will not be my last.
This was a fun and entertaining read which had me totally invested in Damon and Carly’s story. Damon is a successful, driven, focused businessman who has no time for romance, that is until he meets Carly, a woman you captivates him.
When Damon learns that the woman he knows as Carly is in fact actually British Princess Charlotte he knows that his life is about to become complicated. All Carly wants is a normal life but being royal it is almost impossible.
The chemistry between Damon and Carly is intense, the banter funny and Damon is such a charismatic man that you will be hard pressed not to fall for him. I also loved the sense of family and the camaraderie between Damon and his brothers.
A well written story that left me with a smile on my face.
Damon is an affluent businessman who has always placed his business first and woman a distant second. That all changed the night that he met Carly however she was like Cinderella and disappeared the next morning and didn’t even leave a shoe behind as a way of finding her.
Charlotte is a princess who know what is expected of her when it comes to duties and obligations but that isn’t the life she wants to lead. She didn’t believe that she could ever have more than one night with Damon but when fate brings them together will they be able to live their fairy tale or are the differences in their lives too much to overcome?
Both these characters are not what you would think as Charlotte is no pampered princess while Damon is not the cutthroat businessman you would think. This is a fun and flirty story that is sure to bring a smile to your face.
The Billionaire’s Princess is the first book in the Fairy Tale Billionaires’ series and my first Ava Ryan novel. I enjoyed this fun and flirty story, as the back and forth banter between Charlotte and Damon had me hooked from the start. The story was steamy with the chemistry between these two just jumping out at you. The secondary characters also brought so much to the story and I loved the bond between Damon and his brothers. I can't wait to see what the author has in store with the rest of the series. I enjoyed this novel and would recommend it to lovers of royal fairy tales and insta-lust/love romance.
This is a new to me author and her writing is brilliant! Her characters well developed and the storyline is intriguing. I absolutely loved the instant chemistry and banter between Damon and Carly. Damon is a hard working billionaire who is letting loose at a bar where he meets Carly a real life princess. Both of them are burdened and weighed down by emotional baggage will they close all the way out to get their HEA?
When you grow up knowing LOVE is off the table for you, what do you do ?? You throw yourself into your job, something you do love and hopefully will love you back by making millions or possible billions of dollars. Also going through woman, woman, woman .. BUT when you see a woman that starts to crack the wall you have built up something happens in your head and in your heart.
Damon Black is a big, big, big real estate guy but when he meets Carly .. they both don’t know who each other is .. yes she is a real life Princess !! Carly has her own issues with a overbearing Dad that needs .. Billions .... a Fiancé or Ex Fiance’ she doesn’t know how to break his heart since they have been friends for ever. Princess Charlotte of England wants a normal life in NYC but can she with a Dad that wants her married and a grandmother that would like her home in England .. BUT .. when she sees something she wants .. Damon .. she knows she needs to stay in NYC !!
These two are like oil and water though .. can he let his walls down to let love in and can she get around the fierce attitude to let her guard down and get what she wants .. Damon, an Art Career and her own life !!
The pulls back and forth with these two is fun to watch to see will he or will she break first !! He is hot sexy and so so much fun to be around when he doesn’t get what he wants .. lol. Loved every word. <3<3<3<3
Ryan plays it cool when it comes to love and that leads to steamy results. Damon and Carly make it easy to wrap your emotions around a runaway princess and her wounded warrior. Escape into a modern fairytale that you'll want to experience again and again.
When you want to stop reading the story, that says volumes. Just the usual fare of a romance, nothing exceptional. A few proofreading errors, but not terrible.
This is a sweet, light book, an easy read that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Damon is this real estate shark (almost) billionaire with high aspirations masking secret insecurities. Carly is a sweet, romantic, honest-to-god princess trying to find her way and break from her set life and her familys' expectations to make it on her own as an artist. When they meet sparks fly.
I also have to give an honorable mention to Damons' brothers - They are awesome! This was my first Ava Ryan book, but it won't be my last.
This is my first Ava Ryan and if this is any indication of her writing and stories, then it definitely won’t be my last. In fact, I already have my beady little eyes on the next two books in this series.
But onto this book first…
This story is the first in a new series of fairytale retellings (Fairytale Billionaires) - this one taking its cue from Cinderella. (At least, that's what I thought, anyway!)
Our hero and heroine - Damon and Carly - meet early on and don’t get off to the best start. Damon is instantly interested but Carly is having none of it and shuts him down. He’s not deterred and manages to turn things around culminating in a wild night. Before she disappears…
I immediately liked Damon. He was alpha, in-charge, bossy and knew exactly what he wanted. Carly gave him a run for his money, though, which definitely put him on the back foot. It’s always difficult to portray a strong man who has been laid low by a woman, without making him look weak. Damon never looked weak - just head-over-heels smitten. He was a delight.
Carly was just as good of a character. She was sassy, independent, strong…but… she’s supposed to be British. Well, by her speech, mannerisms - it was clear she wasn’t. Not overtly so, but probably quite obvious to those of us of the British persuasion.
And on that note - why do people find it so confusing that the royal family are of the United Kingdom (etc, etc) and not just England? Queen of England? Princess of England? So much nope!
That aside, the writing in this book was engaging and fast paced, probably helped by the fact it’s in first person, present tense and alternates between the viewpoints of both our main characters. You easily get sucked into the story and very quickly start rooting for our main characters. Even the secondary characters, namely Damon’s brothers, Ryker and Griffin, stood out for me. I’m hoping the next two books (The Billionaire's Beauty and The Bilionaire's Cinderella) will be their stories as we do hear snippets about matches the pair made on the same night Damon met Carly.
This was a hugely enjoyable book with great characters, great banter and a satisfying love story - complete with happily ever after, obviously! I’m so pleased I’ve now been introduced to Ava Ryan and her stories - I can see her becoming a firm favourite of mine in the future. 4 stars from me for this one - and very much recommended.
I had mixed feelings about "The Billionaire's Princess" by Ava Ryan. On the positive side, it was a quick read with plenty of steam, and the chemistry between main characters Damon and Carly was electric from page one. However, it was sometimes tough to tell if the sparks between them ignited because they wanted to slap each other or if they were ready to tear each other's clothes off. (If I were Carly, I would have wanted to slap Damon at several points over the course of the story, so I can understand the impulse.)
I mostly liked Carly as a lead character, but found it somewhat difficult to empathize with her when the worst problem she faced was that her uncle might cut off her allowance and she would have to get a job to support herself. That said, I did feel bad about the fact that her father kept trying to push her and her ex-fiance, Percy, back together just because it would benefit him financially. As Carly herself noted at one point, we're long past the time when a princess can be married off for money or political connections! As an adult, Carly had the right to make her own decisions, including who she would (or wouldn't) marry. Her father seemed to lose sight of that at times and treated her as if she were a pawn to be used to his advantage.
Unfortunately, I did not like Damon as much as I liked Carly. He had a lot of emotional baggage related to his mother's abandonment and subsequent death when he was a boy, and IMO he should have sought professional help long before trying to have a romantic relationship with anyone. He continued to think of himself as a "loser" despite being a self-made almost-billionaire, and seemed to compensate for his insecurities by being overly alpha, very demanding, and not taking no for an answer. I wasn't a fan of how crude Damon could sometimes be, either; at one point he talked about being left alone "picking his nose" to wait for Carly, and later mused about feeling like he was trying to eat dog leavings. Neither of those are images I ever want to have in my mind, but especially not while I'm reading a romance novel!
Overall, I didn't hate "The Billionaire's Princess," but I can't give it my wholehearted recommendation either. However, it may appeal to readers who are drawn to very dominant, alpha heroes and/or the insta-lust/insta-love trope.

The Billionaire’s Princess is the first book in the Fairy Tale Billionaires’ series. One night turned into so much more. Unfortunately for Damon he was the one waking up alone the next morning.
I’m a one night kind of guy. Until she disappears on me in the night…
I had mixed feelings about Damon. I do not enjoy knowing all my hero’s feelings. Damon was a little too emotional for me. I do not know any man who would be that angry because he had a one-night stand and found out the woman left before he woke up. He held a grudge against her for weeks and it seemed a little strange. For someone who does not plan to ever be in love or get married I am a little surprised with how he reacted toward Carly. I felt like his actions did not match the feelings he was showing. It was obvious that he was falling for her and was able to settle down, but I understand his fear based on his past with his mother.
The intensity of the pull I feel toward her when we look at each other is starting to mess with my head.
Carly is not what I would have expected a princess to be and did not act royal. I enjoyed her independence and that she was not persuaded by her father to be something she was not. She did not care about this lavish lifestyle and had no problem working hard to pay her own way. I also loved that Carly made Damon work for it when they first met. Do not get me wrong he ended up getting what he wanted but she did make it easy for him.
While I was expecting there to be more drama this was a good read. I felt like I had just started the book and was already ending. I wish there were a little more depth with the supporting characters being there will be two more books in the series. We were introduced to both his brothers, but it did not leave me anxious to read their story.
This was a 3.5 star read for me. The writing flowed well, I was 70% of the way through the book before I even realized it. My problem was more with Damon. I liked him and Carly together, they had great chemistry, but Damon had issues. And he refused to deal with those issues. I get that when something happens in your childhood it can scar you for life, but he was a freakin billionaire, there should have been some therapy in there somewhere. He automatically assumed that Carly was going to eventually leave him, but his actions toward Carly were the complete opposite. I can understand why she was confused by him. His "clarity" on the issue and her forgiving him, came a little too easily in my opinion. It seems like it would take more than one conversation for that, but it is what it is. They do get their HEA, and it was sweet how it tied in with their first meeting. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
When the writer knows what they are talking about, an honest review is simple. The writing pulls at your heart...makes you want to fight for love, and will make you not want to put the book down!!! I cant get enough of the characters. The emotion that you can feel through each page. Love that makes your heart want to...re-read...over & over. This is an easy enjoyable read !
i just really wanted just a little bit more to complete the story.
The storyline is good. However, the first chapter of some of Damon’s monologue was cringey. Also, story was a bit dragging and I was bored and ready to give up on it however, it was a few chapters to the end and I gritted my teeth until last chapter.
“I’ve been dying to make you laugh. I thought I could handle it. But that’s not a normal laugh. It’s been spiked or something. It went straight to my head.”
Damon is used to having everything he wants right at his finger tips, the one thing he did not expect was to be so taken with the icy British beauty. What started out as snarky banter soon turned into the hottest night of his life. Thinking he might have finally found his match only to find that Carly left him. All ready having had his heart broken by one woman Damon doesn't have much faith that his luck in love will change, so imagine his surprise when he runs into the beautiful Carly again, only to find out the British beauty is actually a real life princess.
••
Carly just wants to live her life her way, not the preplanned life that her family has set for her, and definitely not marrying t boring guy that she has no spark with. To say he was surprised by the instant heat she felt with the handsome guy from her one night stand is an understatement, then running into each other again, it must be fate. But the question is will things with Damon work out?
••
As alway Ava Ryan has delivered yet another knockout romance, this woman can do no wrong and this novel is proof of this. I loved following Damon and Carly fall in love and find their way. I loved both main characters and the way they played of each other. I loved that Carly was sweet and romantic, all while trying to find her way in life without having her title hanging our her. As for our hero; who doesn't love a good emotionally hurt hero, but I did love his relationship with his brother. Oh gosh Damon's brothers were hilarious!
••
Overall The Billionaire's Princess was a cute, light read that hold a lot of promise for this new series by Ryan. I can not wait to read Griffins story next.
One look, one conversation, one night is all it took for Damon to fall for Carly, though he won’t admit his love for her, f0r someone without a heart can’t fall in love right?
Damon is out with his brothers for a few drinks to blow off some steam, when across the room sits the most beautiful woman he’s ever set his eyes on, and that cold, long dead space in his chest starts to beat again. Rebuffed, Damon sits and watches as someone else hits on Carly, until he can’t stand it anymore, he heads her way. The pair spar, but ultimately, Damon wears Carly down until the pair spend a magical night together. When Damon wakes, his dream girl is gone, but their paths are destined to cross again.
New to me author, Ava Ryan, has written an excellent fairytale love story, but with real life characters, facing real life problems. Damon is shattered by his mothers leaving him and his brothers when he was younger, a child from a messy divorce, he can’t and won’t love anyone again and give them the power to leave him. Carly, the daughter of the Prince of England has also been raised by divorced parents, where her father has relied on his title and family money, Carly’s mother taught her daughter to be open and work hard for what she wants. When Carly and Damon cross paths, Carly goes in head first, whilst Damon is keeping himself reserved with one foot out the door, ready for Carly to leave him.
I loved both Carly and Damon’s characters, they had engaging traits and were both, very real people with true issues. I thoroughly enjoyed the familial bonds between Damon and his brothers and I look forward to reading their stories too.
‘Because I’ll be the happiest woman in the world if he sticks around.’
Firstly, this book is an enjoyable cute romance! Damon is a real estate tycoon who is aiming to become a billionaire before the year is out. Carly is a real life princess who is trying to live her life on her own terms and get out from underneath her father’s influence. This book made me feel warm and fuzzy inside which is always a good sign!
The Billionaire’s Princess is told from a dual POV which really helps with understanding both Carly and Damon and just what causes them to act in certain ways. I really loved how humorous Damon’s inner thoughts were and had a really clear picture of his voice in my head.
This is a standalone novel, but there are two others coming in the series that include Damon’s two brothers and I will definitely be checking them out. Especially the one about Griff; he intrigues me the most!
The only reason I marked this down a star is due to the fact that the pacing of the plot seemed a little funky at times. We spend a lot of time first building the relationship, then jump seven months in the future without any real background given as to what happened during that time. It just made the story feel a tad clunky. But other than that, this was a great read and I would recommend it to anybody who loves a good billionaire and/or royalty trope.
Lastly, this story does have a HEA; yay!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is the first book of the series. It was just an ok read for me. The storyline seemed interesting enough to give this a try.
Damon is our billionaire and works for his family's real estate business. He and his brothers have been determined to make their father's business a success. All other distractions do not matter. He is not the relationship type, but he finds his pleasures where and when he can.
Carly is a princess who is living in the states while she completes her degree. She is engaged to be married, but is realizing that she does not want to marry the man that her father expects her too. She recently asked for a break from the relationship while she figures her future out. She meets Damon and everything changes.
There was not a lot of substance to the characters in my opinion. Damon is a billionaire with a childhood that has deterred him from real relationships and Carly is a princess who lives on her own in another country, claims to be independent, but lives off of the family fortune. I don't know, I wanted to like this more than I did. There were parts that I enjoyed, but mostly I just felt like we touched the surface with these characters. Carly's father was obnoxious and frustrating too. Even the sexy time scenes seemed overdone and did not fit with the overall story. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you Greys Promo & Ava Ryan for gifting me a copy of this book. These opinions are my own.
🔥🔥🔥🔥 4/5 Steam Rating
If you’re looking for a light hearted romance with some sizzle and some whit, look no further! The Billionaire’s Princess is a refreshing story about a headstrong ambitious business man and an equally headstrong true life Princess. When these two collide sparks will fly, humor will emerge, and strong feelings will collide. This story is unlike so many others that I’ve read where the lady is the one with deep rooted relationship insecurities, instead this time around it’s Damon who has the mommy issues.
Ava Ryan is a fabulous job at creating these characters. Damon is an ambitious businessman who hides his insecurities with his work ethic. Carly is a Princess who wants to break out of her family’s mold for her and create her own life as an artist. Several times throughout this book I was reminded of Prince Harry & Meghan, while their story is not that similar to Damon & Carly, they do share the determination of breaking out of the Royal mold and forging their own path in life.
This is just the first book in the Fairy Tale Billionaires series and I can’t wait to read the next one!
The blurb of this story drew me in. I am glad because I loved diving into this book. Especially, as the first few chapters started out from Damon's point of view. I liked watching their banter and getting to see it from his perspective. It switches out from there and alternates the point of view between him and Carley.
The first portion of the book I really liked. It seemed to lag a little in the middle and the bantering seemed to be off. There was a huge time lapse of seven months that seemed disjointed from the story. I wanted to see how these two characters were traversing their relationship. There seemed to be a lot of focus on "billionaire" which was odd because Damon was striving to be one. It just seemed out of sorts. The best parts of the book were how the beginning and ending mirrored one another. This story would have ranked higher if certain things were more fleshed out, such as the father, which that situation or plot never really took off, other than to kind of be a point of contention later. The HFN was good but I wanted more.
Still, the story was good. I enjoyed the brothers too and am glad that they are getting their own story. Hopefully, there will be more insight into Damon and Carly in those stories.
I received a free copy of this book from the author.
I've always liked reading about royal families. Their lives look easy and posh though in reality it's anything but. So when Carly has a chance at just being herself she takes the bull by it's horns, so to speak.
In her one night of freedom she meets a man that just lights her on fire. After their one night stand she leaves him before he can leave her. No information about either of them was given. Both remain in the dark until a charity event where they find out that they both have some pretty big public secrets. He's a billionaire and she's a princess.
Who would have guessed? So how would a relationship work between them? She's just recently ended her engagement. But for a royal there's more than just returning the ring and saying "thanks, but no thanks."
Her father's making a play for more money and power. Carly doesn't want a thing to do with it. Damon wants a chance to figure out why this woman interests him above all the women he's been around. It will definitely make for a good combination if they're together for the right reasons.
Only the truth and willingness to communicate will help them achieve their HEA!
If you love royal love stories here's one you should check out.
