Eight years after the Emod invasion of Earth, Nola finds herself on Compound 33 with her best friend Alistair. The monotony of Nola’s weekly routine is quickly disrupted when newly discovered humans are brought to the compound by Emod scouts. Among the new humans is Alexander who stands out for his hatred towards the Emod and his mysterious interest in Nola. Despite a rocky beginning, Nola and Alexander tentatively grow close to one another, brought together by a shared, dangerous secret.
