TLDR / POV:
You’re a very young, struggling, single mom, living in a shady motel and barely scraping by, when you stumble upon a ready-made family, complete with built-in bodyguards.

Wyld’s MC books are one of those ‘I’ll take any little peek I can get’ situations, as they’re quick, and pack instalove, and don’t differ from one another very much, yet they’re so fun. They pack honorable men, community, found family, and lots of danger. Perfect listens for when I’ve gotta work, exercise, do housework, etc.—takes the ‘work’ out of those chores.
This one was no exception, gripping me right away due to a likable male lead, and another character I loved to hate.

Overall:
Plausibility could’ve been slightly tighter, but mostly I could roll with it all. A fun read that reminds the reader there ARE still good people and sweet moments in a world of darkness.
4 stars.
🎧 Audio:
I can’t get enough of this narrator—she does such a great job with all roles, managing to almost make these books sound full-cast. 5 stars.
