When she's not writing about her imaginary friends, Carol Moncado is hanging out with her husband, four kids, and a dog who weighs less than most hard cover books. She prefers watching NCIS to just about anything, except maybe watching Castle. She believes peanut butter M&Ms are the perfect food and Dr. Pepper should come in an IV. When not watching her kids - and the dog - race around her big backyard in Southwest Missouri, she's teaching American Government at a local community college. She's a founding member and President of MozArks ACFW, category coordinator for First Impressions, blogger at InspyRomance, and represented by Tamela Hancock Murray of The Steve Laube Agency.
Carol Moncado has certainly made a name creating these wonderful royalty stories. I know she has so many I can barely keep up! I love them and this one was especially good. I can't wait for more!
My thanks to the author for a copy of this book. My review is my own.
What do you get when you have - one snarky woman with a few secrets about her past, who just wants to live a normal quiet life, and one prince who has a few secrets of his own, plus some crazy relatives on both their parts? You get a fun, quirky, enjoyable story by Carol Moncado. Carol Moncado is an expert in writing stories that will take you deep into the lives of “royalty” and the world of “royals.” Guess what, she’s done it again! This book is packed full of “royal” moments. I couldn’t put this book down. This is a new series by this author, but yet it has a few friends from some of her other series. The fun new twist she’s put in this one is that there is a story within this story. She has developed a whole new literary world within this current world and we find fun plots regarding it. The characters are fascinated with the book series that is so ingrained in their lives. The whole country seems to know all about the books, yet there is a mystery surrounding them. I love this book and can’t wait to read more about many of these characters in the future! I think I'll read any book this author writes because they are always full of sweet romance and wonderful life lessons, with a bit of suspense. I was given this book by the author which did not influence my review in any way, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is the first book in Mrs. Moncado’s new series, Princes of New Sargasso. This book focuses on Prince Gideon of New Sargasso. In an impromptu meeting, he meets Karsen. They notice the spark between them initially, but Karsen also knows her privacy will end if the public realizes that she is dating Gideon. This book has several interesting twists and turns (and surprises)! There is even a mystery included in the storyline besides just the romantic aspect of the book. Mrs. Moncado also has the storyline of the Trilunium Chronicles which is an imaginary set of books that were written by M. Karson many years prior to the setting of this book. Details from within these books provide readers with another storyline and world that has previously not been in these books. The book as a whole is a sweet royalty romance if you like to read this genre. If you have read Mrs. Moncado’s previous books, you will love this new series! If you haven’t read her books, I would encourage you to try this one! I highly recommend this book! I loved the storyline, additional backstory, and am eagerly awaiting the next book in the series!
I have always enjoyed reading Carol Moncado's Royal stories, so much fun and a Christian message in each one.
Gideon is a prince, the second son, but no one knows that his older brother isn't able to be king and when the time comes it will be Gideon who takes the throne.
Karsen has a jaded background where her parents are concerned, and even before she came of age to be on her own she was part of their scams, unknowingly helping them. When she meets Gideon she knows that at some point that part of her life was going to be a hindrance to their relationship - especially after he tells her the family secret.
Gideon and Karsen hit it off immediately and really like one another, but Karsen has no idea how dating a prince is going to affect her everyday life. And that there is a woman of noble birth telling everyone she and Gideon are talking marriage doesn't help either. Is this going to work out? You're going to have to read it to find out.
This is a clean read, although there are some strong slang terms in it.
It’s always those who fight the hardest who fall... A difficult past has left Kari with a lot of scars and pain. She hides it well in her life working and volunteering to try to pay others back. So many circumstances push her towards the prince. He is delighted by her and she is just what he needs. Someone who cares for him not the title. Will she be able to move past her past towards a happy future? Ms. Moncado also adds a lovely sub plot of a CS Lewis/ Tolkien world in the book. I believe they say it will follow through for several books. I loved this book. Ms. Moncado writes the most beautiful happy ever afters. She includes everything you want in them. A little bit of mystery, suspense, the bad villain characters and of course the happy. I will always be eager to read the next book she puts out. I already can’t wait until the next one.

A wonderful start to a new royals series by the wonderfully fantastic Carol Moncado! Dinner with a Prince is the first book in the new The Princes of New Sargasso series. It's the story of Prince Gideon and Kari, who works in a bakery. She's snarky, love that word, with hurts and a past. He's a prince who walks into the bakery and gets snarky comments from Kari from the get go. Can attraction between these two actually happen? Read the book to find out. This book will not disappoint. I love books that are fun and also hit me in the gut with twists I did not see coming. That's what makes a good book and why I can't wait for every new book Carol puts out. I devour them. Now it's time to patiently wait for the next book in the series. Please read, enjoy and be blessed by this latest book by one of my very top favorite authors.
What a remarkable royal romance. Kari was simply a waitress in a small, but good restaurant. Following a Charity event, Prince Gideon made an impronto stop just as he was the topic of conversation by a frequent customer. She made the remark about what beautiful children they would have together! To say the least, Kari was mortified and even horrified! But Prince Gideon was intrigued by the beautiful young lady's reaction to the statement. He asked Kari out, but she just about said "No" for a number of reasons which wasn't a normal experience for the Prince. It wasn't that he was a player, but he certainly wasn't used to rejection either. However, Kari's story is unlike any I have ever read. I loved it and believe you will as well. Happy reading!
Just get it. Read it. Enjoy! A new series/a spin off of the previous royals. This one is in New Sargasso. We met Prince David in Her Undercover Prince and now we head to New Sargasso where another royal family lives and loves. This is an engaging story that includes cosplay and a fantasy book series similar to what C.S. Lewis or Tolkien wrote. This is one author that I will re-read her books over and over. As a new one comes out, I go back and read the ones around it. She’s done an excellent job of tying all the threads in a neat bow. This book can be read as a stand alone but is so much richer reading all the connected stories.
This new series, while still living within the interconnected world the author has created, takes us to a country we haven’t visited much, introduces a lot of new people, and expands the author’s universe a bit more. Plus, we’ve gone back to royalty. It was the right amount of new infused with the familiar and I really loved this book! If you’re new to Carol Moncado books, you will not be lost in the least. But if you’ve read the others, you’ll recognize those familiar names among all the new characters. It was a fun, quick read, sometimes funny, sometimes more serious but always enjoyable.
This book starts a new series, The Princes of New Sargasso, although if you’ve read other Carol Moncado books, you’ve met one of those princes in the book Her Undercover Prince. I really enjoyed this book – good plot & twists, good characters, good reminders of past books, and no one had to get engaged or married early on because of some funny business somewhere. If you have a chance to read Her Undercover Prince first, it will fill you in on some background, but it’s not necessary. You’ll enjoy getting to know Gideon and Kari, and starting to learn about Trilunium!
Love the snarky but sweet attitude of the main character. I also like how she puts a person in a position that shows redemption and forgiveness. This story shows the power of love and the purity of a righteous heart. I love the prince too as he really wants to be known for who he is, not hero-worshipped, but truly loved. The way she weaves his brothers into the story to set up, hopefully, future books is also so addictive. *I received an advanced electronic copy for this review, but the views expressed are my own.

Kari has run from the past she had no control over. Gideon is the 2nd in line for the crown or is he? Kari and Gideon have an instant attraction, although she has a a snarky opinion of young royals. When she finally says yes to dinner and their attraction blossoms into love will his secret and her past forever separate them. Another sweet , clean romance from Carol Moncado. I love them all.
Carol Moncado loves to write about royal figures of small kingdoms who interact with each other because of romantic or royal duties. This time it's a prince (Gideon) who meets a commoner (Kari) in her bakery workplace. He's intrigued; she is snarky. Moncado's characters most often show that being royal is hard work. But female readers love to think about royalty, and how it might work living in a royal world. Enjoy!
Interesting , sometimes quirky characters with depth. Deep loyalty and love. Interesting possibilities of a spinoff of an Allegorical World/s. Loving, wise king and queen and friends who re- enforce spiritual truths. Witty,Charming, suspenseful. I gobbled it up. Will read it again to savour he nuances. Thanks again to a favorite author for another engaging, delightful read.
This book did not disappoint. I have read all of Carol Moncado’s Royal romances and luckily found this one on Kindle Unlimited. The characters are believable and the story moves along in a timely fashion. I really liked how the author referenced other characters in other books I have read. It was a nice reminder of how interconnected her Royal world really is. I will definitely be reading the others in the series.
This was such a good story. The characters were strong individuals with minds of their own. They were not sure this relationship would go but they knew there was sparks between them. There are always issues that makes one question the reality of their connection. I am so glad that they saw the truths of their relationship. It was a wonderful story and a great journey..
Pair a witty young woman with "a real job," with a charming young prince, and watch the fun begin. These two mismatched, yet perfect for each other, people take us on a journey of secrets, royal adventures, and romance. But will they be able to live with the secrets? More sweet romantic fun from author Carol Moncado. Always a favorite!
Carol Moncado has done it again, rising another few notches she has created a new world within her fictional world. A wonderfully positive escapist read with touches of humour to lighten the tension. A very enjoyable read and I look forward to the rest.
Carol Moncado's newest series is great. We met Prince David in Her Undercover Prince and now we're meeting the rest of his family in this new series . This is an incredible story involving cosplay and a fantasy book series called Trilunium. Secrets, snarkiness, and romance make it a great read.
I really enjoyed this book. I loved Kari's snark and Gideon's wit. Their story was cute and I'm looking forward to reading about Gideon's brothers! Carol always has fun story lines and weaves her characters together seamlessly!
I did received an e arc for an honest review. These are my own thoughts and opinions!
Another hit! Some great plot twists I didn’t see coming! The characters in these books are always so well developed and this book was no different! Definitely a must read if you enjoy happily ever after endings! I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my review... the thoughts and words are all mine...
If you love nice clean romances, you will enjoy this book. I enjoyed Gideon's persistent nature towards Kari even when she kept pushing him away. How Kari was so insecure with her history that she felt Gideon wouldn't want her made it interesting. The way Gideon's were ready to except her just as she was. Loved the ending so I won't give it away.
A bakery assistant and a prince. Not what you would think of as a match made in heaven. She has something to hide, but so does he. Can they get past their secrets and make a real relationship work? First time reading Carol Moncado. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
This is a refreshing and heartwarming romance with outstanding characters that will steal your heart and warm your soul as they journey towards their own unforgettable unconditional love story and new beginning.
It could have been better edited, but apart from that, a really good story. Like all her other books, this one has intrigue, suspense, secrets, drama and the romance and happy ending (of course). Really enjoyed it. Want to read the rest!
Carol Moncado has done it again with a fantastic book filled with romance, suspense, twists and turns. I Loved the storyline and the interesting characters. This book is recommended for those who love Christian romance with a touch of royal.
A great story with redemption as a theme. Kari also asks her mother to seek forgiveness. A great story that illustrates how much character & integrity matter in life. One character illustrates fluff, love of position, love of wealth & gross rudeness.
Another enjoyable Royal story by Carol Moncado. An interesting story line with romance, intrigue, quirky characters and an unexpected ending (very happy of course!).
Sorry...I just couldn't get through it but I did till the end. I didn't get into the whole "other" story dealing with Narnia parallel, it spoilt the story for me. Too bland overall and not sexy enough.
