Everything has changed. The truth has been revealed… and now Maverick has only one chance to survive.
Maverick’s discovery of Greenstreet’s hidden room reveals some ugly truths: the relationship between Mars and Earth is on the brink of collapse, The Red Hand can’t be trusted, and her allies are looking more and more like enemies.
As she continues to navigate the dog-eat-dog world she finds herself in, she can’t stop herself from asking one terrifying question... is a world run by Michael Greenstreet the best option she has?
Before she can decide, the house of cards she’s built starts to fall as everyone around her fights for dominance. Can she find a way to outsmart them all, no matter what side ends up running Earth? Or is her fate already sealed?
Betrayed is the third episode in the collection of novellas that make up the Sister Planets series.
Author, husband, father, klutz. Master of forgetting keys and remembering every stupid thing he's ever done. Writing is how he joins the song that story sings. Tortured ISFJ. Writes scifi and other stuff. Am I still talking about myself? Is it hot in here? Just me? *Faints.*
Wowee. Wasn’t expecting ep 3 to be so intense. I was at the edge of my seat during this episode. If you’ve followed Mav and the gang this far, you’ll know that the stakes have risen.
Like the previous episodes, Betrayed brings back the action, sticky situations, and characters to cheer for and even loath. This episode kind of reminded me when you get to the midrange of a superhero story, when the hero is completely broken down by the villain. The body is broken and beaten. The mind, a bleeding mess, but you still cheer for them in hopes they get back up.
