Moving Day has come and gone for Bill and Marie Sturtz. Their old house is empty and they are starting a new chapter. Little do they know that this is the beginning of another thrilling and turbulent period in Polly Giller's life. A trip to the library with the three youngest children the next morning brings the catalyst, but no one knows who the young man is or why he was killed. Even though his blood trail leads back toward Sycamore House and he warned of more death, Polly hasn't uncovered the rest of the story yet.Agnes Hill asks Polly to help her check on a friend. There's an abusive ex-husband in the picture. This can't be good.A panicked phone call from Beryl Watson sends a terrified and emotional Polly out of Sycamore House to get her friend and rush to the hospital in Ames. Her whole world turns upside down in a heartbeat.Polly's roles as mother, wife, and friend are all tested in just two short weeks. Even when she thinks that she's alone and the worst that could happen is right in front of her, she knows better. There is always peace to be found in the storm.Welcome back to Bellingwood.
As usual the latest brllingwood novel drew me in from the start with the well rounded and different story lines and personalities in the book. I will read it over again and find new things that I missed before. Congratulations ms muir you did it again
I literally could not put this book down once I started reading it. It went places I didn’t expect it to go, it made me cry, it made me laugh, it had me on the edge of my seat, and I’m just sorry that I finished it and can’t keep reading. But I’m going to start it over again shortly. It’s that good. I would recommend that a first time visitor to Bellingwood start with the first book in the series and read them all. This one will make more sense to you if you have the background from the rest of the books. And I would recommend that you do that right away so that you can enjoy the whole series, including this one.
Polly does it again. I admit, OK it might be an obsession, I look for each new Polly book to find out the latest on her clan of kinfolk and expanded family and people whose lives she touches in her small Iowan town. This is a series that provides murder, usually other sub plots of new discoveries, moving folks, folks who become ill, elderly folks and young ones and animals and Star War fixation. How can this not be a success. this is the 30th in the series and I have read them all. There is something just so satisfying about these books!
I read this as soon as it came out as I have done with previous books! Loved it kept me engrossed till the end and left me saddened that I have another three months till the next instalment! Glad the corona virus wasn't part of Bellingwood's story I need the escape from it having been in isolation throughout!! Thank you Diane for another great read!
Book 30 and still as exciting and full of love as book 1. Bought this morning and couldn't stop reading until finished, as usual full of love, heart rending excitement and a wonderful picture of family life and love! Recommended to everyone who likes glimpses of family life and exciting mysteries to solve. Have all 30 books and still re-read them. Got to wait 3 months for my next fix! Well done Diane.
I have read every book in this series and it just keeps getting better! I hope it continues for years to come. This book is what we all want small town living to be about. Polly is my idol. I wish I had the means to be as giving as she. What great fun it must be to build your family by heart instead of genetics. I can hardly wait for the next book in this series. Keep them coming Diane. THIS is my favorite series EVER!!!
Diane has done it again. She earned us to have tissues ready and not was she right. Had to hold my breath at certain times. Once g as in she has shown it takes a Villiage. I want to move to Bellingwood. Sit at Sweet Beans and just sip my coffee and people watch. Thank you Diane. Dang September is so far away. Stay safe, wear your mask, wash your hands.
This series has been my favorite of all time. I love series. It’s so fun to pick up the next book and catch up with all my friends in Bellingwood. I get each book as it comes out but try to wait a few weeks to read it. Didn’t make it on this one. It was great. Thanks Diane for having such a wonderfully active imagination. Keep writing.
Bellingwood is shaken but not brought down. Polly Giller is stretched but not broken. I love the way Polly meets each day, good or bad, with the same attitude. This is what is set before me; find the starting point and go forward. These books are like comfort food for the heart.
Peace in the Storm - another amazing book by Diane Greenwood Muir
Peace in the Storm is another book in the Bellingwood series that is difficult to put down. If you haven’t started reading this series start now! You will laugh, cry and find yourself wanting to celebrate with the characters in the stories!
The Bellingwood series always delivers! Wonderful, caring people in a small town, rally around the main character, Polly Giller, as she raises her unconventional family, with her husband Henry. Outstanding stories, character development make this feel good series a must read!
I got hooked a this series a few years ago and eagerly await each installment. Polly, Henry and their merry band are a joy to watch and now I'm left waiting for the next one. Makes you want to visit Bellingwood and check out small, or not so small town Iowa for yourself.
Tragedy strikes and a new rescue in one book for Polly. I love how she manages to get everything done and more, she does so by her amazing support system. I teared up in a couple of places in this book, I am so attached to these characters and their lives in Bellingwood. I can't wait for the next installment!
With all the changes happening in Bell House Polly didn't need any more worries but when the sheriff was in a car accident she really had a lot of worries. Then a body at the library and then a friend of her friend being hurt plus finding a young man in a basement she had a lot going on. People moving in and out. Good reading.
It was good to get back to Bellingwood. I have not read one of these books for some time and found it delightful to read one while on vacation. This one focuses more on the crime than many do but it leads to a new rescue person to be brought into the life of Polly, Henry and Company and all of Bellingwood.
I’m so happy to be in Bellingwood for the day. These books are so easy to read and get caught up in the story. Lots and lots of adventures in this story. Can’t way for the next book. Everyone is growing up too fast.
I look forward every quarter to the new Bellingwood book. This one did not disappoint. There were old characters being used in different ways and new characters introduced that I can’t wait to get to know better.
I love this book as much as the first. I always count on Diane to be respectful of her characters and her readers. I love the way Polly and her family and friends have grown through the years. No one is one dimensional or stagnant.
Aaron is badly hurt in a car accident, a friend of Agnes falls down the stairs, Polly finds bodies and the friendships flourish. What we still don't know is if Agnes really operates a ring of assassins.
This book has brought surprises and has gone beyond finding a body. The story addresses current issues in a small town and shows wonderful human compassion. I like the storyline regarding elderly characters. Can't wait for 31.
This book got a bit convoluted with too much of Beril's silliness and too much detail on Aaron's accident, but I still couldn't put it down. I loved the ending.
Diane Greenwood Muir is my favorite author. Her stories never disappoint. The characters are so well developed that you feel like you know them personally. She always leaves you wanting more, and can’t wait until the next book comes out!
Diane never lets her Bellingwood friends down. Another great story. Her stories draw you in and you actually feel like you are a member of the family or that you actually live in Bellingwood.I can't wait for the next book.
I really enjoyed this book. I am always amazed at the things Polly and her family get into. It keeps the excitement going. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
