Where can Witches and their vampire mentor practice their powers without being discovered or persecuted?

By using their magic, the Witches of Vegas become the number one act performing on the Las Vegas Strip—a great achievement for them, but not so much for the magicians—who can't possibly keep pace.

Isis Rivera is the adopted fifteen-year old daughter of The Witches of Vegas. Zack Galloway is the teenage nephew and assistant to the last magician left in the city. Although they should be rivals, when Valeria, a four-hundred-year-old witch with a long-seeded grudge against humanity arrives in Sin-City, both teens act to bring their families together to stop the evil hag in her tracks.

But can the combined witches' powers and the ingenuity of the magicians be enough to stop Valeria from taking over the city and possibly the world?

An engaging beginning that delivers the character emotions just the right way until you end up rooting for the main characters.

https://storyzen.wixsite.com/storydoc...

A young witch with latent hidden power and a tragic past finds a new family of stage magicians. Only, the magicians are real witches hidden in Las Vegas.
Her found family wants to hide her, to keep her safe that hints to something big later. But the teenager heroine doesn't want to hide, does she? Especially, not when she meets a boy.

A love at first sight happens when she was performing on stage. However, there is one problem, the boy is also with a stage magician group--only they don't have real magic. They have splendidly normal human magic with tricks and ideas.

That brings out the clash. If you love the story, you will love it for this clash first. And next for its villain.

With love and magic training, it also has a powerful villain who came back from her exile from another planet. It's the back story of that villain that made the story stronger and dimensional.

"Our immortality is not meant for controlling the flow of history."

Simple plot, defined characters, and prose that reads clean and understandable.
Overall, you'll get a good reading experience with some immortal beings in a modern city with touches on Young Adult romance. It's so readable, within one hour you'll find yourself at page 110.

The Witches of Vegas by Mark Rosendorf is a YA Paranormal/Urban Fantasy which, is indeed a treat for those who love the magical world. How can witches and their vampire mentor practice their powers without arousing suspicion from the non-magical people? Start a magic show.
The Witches of Vegas has become the number one magic show in Las Vegas all thanks to their powers. They provide the greatest performance with unbelievably cheap tickets. This has caused the other magicians to lose out audience and struggle to make their ends meet.
Isis Rivera is the fifteen-year-old adopted daughter of The Witches of Vegas. She is supposed to be the most powerful witch out there but her constant mood swings tend to be dangerous for people around her. She has never gone far away from the theatre and has been homeschooled.
Zack Galloway is a teenage nephew of the last magician left in Las Vegas. The Witches of Vegas are supposed to be their rival but when Valeria, a 400-year-old witch with a grudge against non-magical folks appears out of nowhere and threatens to destroy the world, they need to team up and save their world.
But can the combined power of witches and of magicians be enough to stop Valeria from her madness? How will they stop a powerful witch turned vampire from wreaking havoc in their world?
The book seemed a little fast-paced. If there were a little more details given about each character and their backgrounds it could have been made into 2 or 3 books. But, the author has done a great job in the storyline.
I would totally recommend this book to all those who enjoy the magical reads! I wish there would be a sequel or a novella as I really want to know more about all the characters.

Summary –

Rivals Isis and Zack team up their families of witches and magicians to stop an ancient witch vampire from feasting on humans in Vegas. Take one vampire and a coven of witches, create an awe-inspiring act on the Vegas Strip where they can use their magic in front of humans without penalty, and watch the money roll in. Sure, they’re putting magicians out of business but who cares? Isis cares and so does handsome Zack, her new crush turned boyfriend. Witches versus magicians, let the rivalry begin. For Isis and Zack, they’re not rivals…they fall in love. When an ancient witch vampire, disguised as a sleazy reporter, sets out to destroy the witches of Vegas, Isis and Zack convince their families to work together to save not only Vegas but all humanity.

Narrator’s overall voice –

Jeffery Lynn Hutchins’ voice has personality all its own but when it employs the various character voices, it takes on each character with aplomb. I thoroughly enjoyed his voice.

Does the narrator fit the characters?

Yes, Jeffery Lynn Hutchins fits the characters, especially the witches. I’m amazed how well he evokes women and a teen young woman. Very well done.

Narrator’s reading style –

Jeffery Lynn Hutchins has a reading style that is casual, nice and easy, but with plenty of twists and turns to keep the listener vested.

Narrator’s impact on reading experience –

Jeffery Lynn Hutchins has an innate ability to draw a listener/reader in without any effort. He takes what is one of the most original stories I’ve ever read and makes it come alive.

Narrator’s pacing –

Jeffery Lynn Hutchins’ pacing is perfect, blending action, romance, mystery, suspense, and more with ease.

Audiobook flow –

Jeffery Lynn Hutchins allows the audiobook to unfold naturally with plenty of dialogue, action, romance, and everyday life.

What makes this audiobook unique –

Jeffery Lynn Hutchins and Mark Rosendorf partner up to bring readers/listeners one of the best YA urban fantasy books I’ve ever heard/read. The plot is fast-moving which adds to the exhilaration while listening. Jeffery Lynn Hutchins’ narration brings The Witches of Vegas alive, like a movie. Brilliant from start to finish.

This novel is a YA fantasy novel with a twist, on top of that is a fantastically good read. The characters are well rounded and quite believable and you will have no trouble falling in love with them. The story is perfectly paced with the drama building up nicely as you move through the novel.
The story itself if quite unique witches and vampires hiding in plain sight - why have I not read this before! The villain in this story is deviously evil and you will have no trouble at all rooting for our hero's
If you are a lover if YA or thinking of picking up a YA novel for the fist time this is the perfect book for you.
Many thanks to the author, publisher and Booksirens for a chance to read and review this novel.

More than a story of witches, vampires, and magicians. Surprisingly heartwarming and sweet. It was action-packed right from the start. Mark Rosendorf's writing transports you to Vegas where witches perform before crowds as if they were "regular" magicians and soon they are confronted by a villian who tries to destroy the world - to have witches rule the world and kill the humans. I enjoyed the first 3/4 of the book, although wasn't overally thrilling. It fizzled out for me and I found the ending to be too repetitious and boring, but really sweet.

The Witches Of Vegas is a YA Paranormal/ Urban Fantasy that really told a wonderful story. The characters were likable and interesting and the storyline was unique.

The story centers around a young teenage girl who has been adopted by a small coven of witches. In order to make ends meet and to keep their powers at their peak, they take to performing magic shows on the Vegas strip. Life remains mediocre (...or, at least, as mediocre as one can claim whilst being a witch) until one day a mysterious woman comes to town and vows to expose the coven's secrets.

I won't go into any further details about the book but suffice it to say that I think this story is well told and perfect for a young audience. It also leaves plenty of opportunity for a series to unfold and I would definitely like to see The Witches Of Vegas back in action in the future.

Lately I haven't read a lot of YA because I always end up feeling a little bit frustrated with the scenarios the teens in the book go through. Often times they're acting way more adult than I feel a YA book should be. The Witches of Vegas was actually pretty true to how most teens behave even though it was pure fantasy.

I really enjoyed the story and it was a fun adventure following along with all the drama of being undercover witches with a rival trying to ruin things. There was a good mix of highs and lows and the action always had a lot of suspense to keep me pulled in to the story and reading through the night.

Isis and her adopted family were easy to love but my heart was with Zack. He was lovable and endearing as the love-struck hero. I cannot wait for the next installment of the series. I recommend this for anyone who loves a fun teen adventure.

Thank you to Booktasters from twitter for a review copy in exchange for an honest review. The Witches of Vegas is fantasy revolving around magical show. I love the intricate details given by the Mark Rosendorf! Isis Rivera, a homeschooled teenager, with tremendous power seeks freedom and love when she meets Zack from her rival magician clan. I loved plot and the pace however I did wish to see more about the characters involved. Our Antagonist, Valeria was really an intriguing villain. I do recommend this book if you are looking to be immersed by a magical world!

Five stars for The Witches of Vegas! Rosendorf has really done it this time with his first young adult novel. The action never stops and I’m sure teens and magicians alike will love the combination of stage, vampires and witches. The characters are real, and the story moves at a great pace. Check out The Witches of Vegas and get ready for the next in the series.

The Witches of Vegas by Mark Rosendorf is a young adult paranormal urban fantasy that I listened to on audio narrated by Jeffery Lynn Hutchins.

This is the first book of Mark's that I have read and it definitely won't be my last. I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next.

It's been a while since I have read a young adult book and this book made me remember why I loved them. I loved the sweet romance that bloomed between Isis and Zack while they were trying to protect the city from Valeria.

I really enjoyed that we got Isis, Zack, and Luther's point of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Journey To New Salem to be released on March 29, 2021.

Jeffery did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of his work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like teen and young adult books, paranormal, or urban fantasy.

I was so excited to read this book, as I felt that I had been looking for a tale like this for a long time. What if magic performers weren’t actually just using stage tricks but were using real magic? It would be an easy way not to blow their cover, and they would be able to make a lot of money off a show that no one else would be able to replicate. A win-win! This is the story of Isis and her adoptive family of different magical creatures, including witches and vampires.

When Isis was 9, her former foster parents sensed something was “off” about her and locked her up for it. Her adoptive parents saved her life, whisking her away to a place where her powers would be accepted. Now she is 15 and has been living in Vegas with her new adoptive parents, helping them out with their show. Isis loves her life now, and she’s prepping to make her stage debut. She even meets a cute boy on her opening night! But then, an old enemy returns, and the happy lives that they have created may be over forever.

The adorable friendship/budding romance between Isis and Zack was the absolute cutest thing to read. I wish we would get a sequel to this book specifically about these two characters! It was just a genuinely sweet young teen romance included in the story that drew me in more than I expected it to.

I also loved reading about Isis’ relationship with her adoptive family members. Isis had never truly belonged in her foster family, even before they discovered her budding “strange” powers. This new family, seemingly made up of misfits, always accept and love one another. There were a lot of good themes about family, acceptance, and community in this book.

I can't wait to read about these characters in the upcoming books of this series, as this set up such a great base for an amazing world. Nevertheless, I felt like some of the side characters could have been developed a bit more in this original story to prepare them for future books to come.

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a new YA fantasy novel.

I received a copy of this book and this is my voluntary review.

The Witches of Vegas is an innovative, entertaining, adventure filled YA fantasy any age can enjoy.
The hiding in plain sight while honing their craft was pure genius. Las Vegas is a lot of things but never considered it a training ground for witches pretending to be magicians. If they only knew what was to come. No spoilers here.
Isis Rivera is the adopted fifteen-year old daughter of The real Witches of Vegas. Zack Galloway is the teenage nephew and assistant to the last real magician left in the city. Though they should be rivals, a magic twist intervenes turning Isis and Zack’s worlds upside down. An evil must be stopped at any expense.
The cast of engaging characters and scene descriptions made you feel part of the story and kept you turning pages. Can’t wait to see what happens in the next installment. For a fun, entertaining read, I highly recommend The Witches of Vegas!

The Witches of Vegas is a short and action packed fantasy. Isis is saved from her terrible foster family by a coven of witches and vampires who use their magic and abilities to perform for the public.

There are a ton of twists, turns and adventure on every page of this book. Isis and the coven form amazing bonds that show us the power and beauty of a found family.

This is a great book for all ages but especially for younger YA just getting into fantasy. I will be eagerly anticipating the sequel to this story!

Delightful read, to say the least. Awesome blend of several fantasy fiction staples -- witches, magicians and, my personal favorite, vampires. The author lists this as a Young Adult novel, but this 43-year-old reader enjoyed it without any shame. Tons of action with an interesting cast of characters, I highly recommend this book as a great escape from the doldrums of real-life and a "must see" addition to your summer reading list.

Imagine being nine-years-old and strange things start to happen all around you and you have no idea what is going and you look around trying to figure out what is happening and you start to notice everyone looking at you like you are the devil or something and it frightens you to the core of your being.

You soon realize that the strange things that are happening are you, that you caused all those things to happen but you have no idea how or why. Now everyone is looking at you like they want to burn you alive like they did to those people in Salem in 1692. Well, this is just how I imagined Isis Rivera felt as it was happening to her.

Fast forward about six years, Isis is fifteen-years-old now and living with her adoptive family in Las Vegas. Isis was adopted by a coven of witches after that horrible time in her life and she has been living in Vegas ever since.

This coven of witches performs magic on the stages of Vegas. They use and practice their magic right out in the open in front of a crowd of humans. Isis has been taught by the coven to hide what she is, a witch. And what better way to stay hidden? By performing out in the open under the disguise of being a magician.

The witches have been warned by their vampire mentor that something big was coming and they must prepare for it by practicing their magic as much as possible. What is coming he has not deemed it important enough to tell them.

Then we meet Zack Galloway the teenage nephew of the last magician in Vegas. Zack’s uncle is teaching him all the tricks and trades of being a magician so that one day he will hopefully be as famous as Houdini himself.

One day Zack is sent to spy on the witches to learn all their secrets and find out as much as he can about them. When Zack meets Isis there is an instant attraction between the two.

Isis gets permission from her parents to attend one of Zack’s performance but when she doesn’t return home her family begins to worry about her as Isis has always been one to stay close to home as that is what she has been taught as it can be dangerous out in the world for a witch.

Isis has been taken by a four-hundred-year-old vampire. After Zack’s show, they go backstage to visit for a while and run into the vampire. The vampire throws Zack and his uncle out the door and won’t let them back in. Afraid for Isis’ life Zack runs to the witches to get their help to rescue Isis. Zack and Isis’s family must overcome their differences if they are to save Isis. Can they be friends long enough to save Isis? Or will the world as they know it is destroyed?

The Witches of Vegas was a fun little read. I love the concept of witches in Vegas and performing magic right in the open for everyone to see and no one knowing it is real.

I love stories about witches especially the Salem1692 witches. So with saying that I can’t wait for the next book in The Witches of Vegas series, Journey to New Salem. What will it be about? Will our two young friends Isis and Zack take a journey? What is this New Salem? Will Zack and Isis be back or will we be introduced to a whole new set of characters. Oh, I can’t wait.

I highly recommend The Witches of Vegas to all fans of witches and vampires. One-click your copy of The Witches of Vegas today to begin this magical journal!

The Witches of Vegas by Mark Rosendorf is a teen, young adult paranormal, urban fantasy novel that is a whirlwind of a read.
Only in Vegas could you have a coven of witches and a vampire practice their powers in plain sight. The Witches of Vegas is a Sin-City show where the performers use their actual magical powers to make the audiences believe they are performing illusions. Isis Rivera is a fifteen year old witch, she has been adopted by the coven performing in Vegas and is set to make her stage debut. Zack Galloway is a fifteen year old magician who, along with his uncle, are losing their audience to the Witches of Vegas and could soon be out of business.
When a four hundred year old witch returns to seek vengeance can Isis and Zack put their rivalry aside to rid the world of the evil threat?
This is an absolute page turner of a story. I was completely swept away by it and found the relationships within the storyline so beautifully crafted. The relationship between Zack and Isis is sweet and caring, the familial relationship between the coven members is fiercely protective and the differences between the rivals is one that ultimately shows respect for one another.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story, the drama was exciting, the magicians tricks were described so well that I could imagine them happening in front of my eyes and the ending left me wanting more. I am very pleased that Mark Rosendorf will be continuing the story of Isis, Zack and the Witches of Vegas.

This is Rosendorf's first foray into the field of Young Adult fiction, and it is a successful one. The story offers an engaging premise, which hearkens back to Poe's "The Purloined Letter". If there are really, for real witches, where is the best place for them to hide? In plain sight, of course, as stage magicians, except that what they do really is magic, as opposed to slight of hand and illusion. Hence, the act, "The Witches of Vegas", the most popular show on the Vegas strip, where the Troupe (which calls itself a Coven even though it doesn't have 13 members) can hone their paranormal skills while the paying customers believe they are seeing only clever stage craft. The novel features a teen romance between Isis, a budding witch of great potential, and Zack, a teenaged member of his uncle's rival magic act, which is not paranormal at all and is being driven out of business by the more spectacular Witches. Zack's uncle owns the rival show and dispatches Zack to perform industrial espionage on Isis and her family, at the behest of a mysterious woman who says she is a reporter but who turns out to be both a witch and a vampire who wants Isis as her slave and Isis' family dead. There are plenty of thrills and chills on the way to the story's resolution. The novel is marred by just a bit of historical inaccuracy, as Rosendorf's date of the Salem Witch Trials by a century, but that faux pas barely mars the fun. This novel is a fast read and a rollicking good time.

I was gifted this book in return for a review of it. Thank you for the book.

The author Mark Rosendorf does a great job in the writing of this book. He builds the main characters with a level of finess that allows you to really get to know them like you have met them in real life. He also writes it in a way that you know something big is coming but you can't really figure it out just yet. He does give you a few clues from the character Luther in one of the chapters. Once he unveils the villain you think (at least I did) I should have seen that coming. I personally would have like more in the big battle scenes, there was a so much build up to it. This was the only thing I really didn't like about the book. That Isis and her family didn't get the full show case of that scene. As well as what happened on the island when the sisters saved Luther. I would have liked there to be a chapter on that too.

A really nice ending that left it opened for more books down the road in this series. As well as an ending that could just stay as is and be one book only. Either way I will look for more books from this author to enjoy. Again thank you for the book.

A true young adult story about witches and a vampire. Isis is our main character a young witch that learns what she is when her foster family tries to drive the devil out of her and almost kills her.
She is rescued by three witches and a vampire that become her family. Together they have a show called The Witches of Vegas where they hide in plain site presenting a show of magic and illusion that is actually using witchcraft.
The story has the villain character that was an apprentice to the only vampire we know thus far in the story, Luther. Through a team up with a magician and his apprentice a fight breaks out and the outcome could mean the end of the world as they knew it.
The story is well paced and intriguing, building up to the increase in powers through training and time for our young witch Isis. With the addition of a magicians apprentice Zack the witches stay more grounded and learn there is more to consider than just using their powers to train and in turn make a profit.

I really enjoyed reading this book ! I loved the synopsis at first bc witches ❤️❤️❤️ but while reading it it was more than a story about witches. so yes it has witches and magicians and vampires and witches who are also vampires but the story behind all these characters is so great !
I loved the synopsis, witches who are trying to hide that they are witches theaters representations, I found it so original it was very pleasant.
I loved the characters and mostly Zack and Isis ! I love the development of their characters and to watch them grow throughout the book ! I also loved seeing their relationship evolve, it was very cute ! My heart melted for them so many times !
Also what I loved the most about this book was that it’s a true love story but not lover true love, a family true love, this book show that family is always going to be a constant point in life and that with the love of a family we can get through many things and it’s very powerful and important.
I really think that everyone should read this book !

I grabbed a copy of this book because the bio of Mark Rosendorf and the synopsis reminded my of my youth and now love of Vegas. Growing up watching David Copperfield that is and now Criss Angel. But I digress.
The prologue both horrified and entranced me at the same time. So much so that I turned page after page until the very end. I just couldn't put it down.
The world Mr. Rosendorf created was so magical, I felt like I was actually transported to Vegas and watching the characters with my minds eye. It was extremely vivid for me. The characters are intriguing with one exception. I don't like saying this because they are my favorite supernatural, but the vampire aspect really didn't need to be added. It didn't seem to lend much to the actual story. But the plot keeps you entertained until the very end.
Mark Rosendorf wrote a very good novel and I can't wait to read the next.

Thanks to the publisher for providing an eARC of The Witches of Vegas in exchange for an honest review.

If you're a reluctant teen/pre-teen reader or know of one trying to get into books, this is the perfect place to start. The Witches of Vegas is a short urban fantasy novel set in (shocker) Vegas. Centering around a 15 year old witch named Isis after she's saved from her awful foster home by a coven of witches and vampires that use the guise of 'performance art' to use their powers to delight the public and a human magician named Zack who's tasked with investigating her, The Witches of Vegas is a unique, fun, zany read with an easy to follow plot, fairly simple language, and a shorter length that make it accessible to a wide audience.

This was such a fun story! My only issue was that a few of the relationships felt like they got a bit too serious a bit too quickly (in book time, obviously with a shorter story characters are going to get together within smaller page counts) but my main issue was actually dissolved when we learned an additional piece of information so all in all, this was a really good read!

#WitchesofVegas. When Isis is threatened with death by her foster parents and their neighbors because they fear the powers she exhibits she is rescued by a coven of witches. They sensed how powerful she is with the craft. The only shock is how young she is. One of the coven is an ancient vampire who tells of the danger they will face in order to save the world.

They come up with a plan to allow them to instruct Isis in witchcraft and increase her control. They will preform their magic act in Las Vegas. A town that loves magic. The show causes all but one of the other magic acts to leave Vegas. Zack and his Uncle Herb get involved when they are manipulated by an ancient evil into using Isis to spy on the coven.

This is a YA novel. i enjoyed it as i believe any young reader would who likes paranormal themes.

I loved The Witches of Vegas. This YA Paranormal read is perfect for young readers. Full of magic from witches and magicians. Isis and Zack are very entertaining and fun. The story was entertaining and sometimes sad. Valeria is mean and scary. I loved the ending and am looking forward to read more of this Authors work.

I give The Witches of Vegas 5 stars for its entertaining read.
I would recommend this book to YA Paranormal Fans.

It's an interesting story about witches and magic. It flows quickly and feel shorter than it is, there's no boredom in this book.

It takes a different approach to the "how to hide" in urban fantasy. I don't remember reading another hiding in full sight story before. The mix and comparisons of "illusion magic" and "witch magic" is fun and original.

The "magic world" is less developped than what I like, we have just enough to understand, but not a full idea of what's going on beyond the small coven/family.

Isis and Zac make a cute couple, and healthy enough despite their bad start.

The Witches Of Vegas is a really intriguing piece of work. The story concept was original and very interesting; and it was quite fast paced so it was easy to keep on reading. It follows Isis, a witch who hides in plain site in an illusion style show in LAs Vegas. The characters are well written, rounded and likeable. The only thing was that I felt the romance between two of the characters was ok but maybe could have been saved for a possible sequel to focus on the word building aspect of this story. Overall a fun and stylish read; recommended for fans of both fantasy and YA fiction.

The Witches of Vegas is an original, funny, and adventure-filled YA fantasy that I thoroughly enjoyed! The idea of witches hiding in plain sight, pretending to be magicians who are pretending to be witches is an inventive and fun concept that hooked me immediately. Add to that an endearing cast of characters and I knew I for sure I was in for an addicting read. I can’t wait to read the next installment in this series.
