"An unexpected evil brings both the MC and Military world together in this brand new series by J.M. Walker"
He refuses to fall in love. He was born alone and he will die alone. Or, at least he thought so until now. Vice-One is all he knows. His squad. His brothers. The men he spends every day protecting. He is empty and only one person can fill this void. This darkness. Meanwhile, Genevieve Gold makes it clear he should stay away when she is everything he craves.
She is lost. Her heart has been ripped out; stomped on...crushed into tiny pieces, leaving only a gaping hole behind. King's Harlots is all she has. Her club. Her sisters. Her life. But something is missing until he shows up. Angel Rodriguez is everything she hates but everything she needs.
Putting differences aside, they will work together to bring down a malevolent force threatening to rip them apart...
J.M. Walker, a Canadian author, is an Amazon bestseller who also hit USA Today with Wanted: An Outlaw Anthology. She loves all things books, pigs and lip gloss. She is happily married to the man who inspires all of her Heroes and continues to make her weak in the knees every single day.
"Above all, be the HEROINE of your own life..." ~ Nora Ephron
What I like in a lead man is a true alpha. Possessive. Domineering in the bedroom. Generous (with orgasms). Protective. A sizeable manhood. Compassionate.
That's exactly what you get from Angel in this book. And what makes him even better? He isn't an overbearing arsehat who uses other women or plays games just to make Jay jealous.No. He's straight along the line with what he wants and there is no messing about .
"Oh, I would have her. And I would fucking make her break."
Jay is a strong woman who hides her fragile side behind a loud mouth and big attitude. She could be a bit over the top for me at times. Its okay to want to do things on your own and be independent but it can go too far and sometimes you can shoot yourself in the foot. She just needed to calm down a bit for me. I liked her enough, and how she was worked well for the story. Plus it was nice not to read about an inexperienced virgin for once. She definitely gave as good as she got.
"Being an all-woman MC had its hard times and good times. No one took us seriously because instead of having a dick, we had pussies and having a vagina made you weak. As-fucking-if."
These two together were scorching. This whole book was so hot. That man's mouth... I don't even have the words to tell you
"Ripping open my jeans, I wrapped my hand around my dick, beating the heavy weight against her ass."
"Fuck me hard and call me Sally."
But it wasn't just the sex; though there were a few occasions were the writing felt a bit disconnected for me, the storyline and questions around Jay's sister kept everything interesting and added a bit of suspense. I didn't guess who the bad guy was and when it came out who ... I got all sweary! That got me good. The only other criticism I had was the over use of everyone saying "Fucking A" - it annoyed me.
This had grit, it had passion, pain, love, acceptance. I absolutely adored these two together right from their first meeting. They just fit together so well. I could seriously quote the shit out of this book, but I'll settle for just a few more.
"It was more than sex. It was more than lust. It was passion. It was raw. It was real. And it was ours."
"You are my Queen, and I am your motherfucking King."
"Sometimes life throws things at you, expecting you to be able to deal with it. It thinks you're strong enough to handle the battles, the war raging inside of your head. the battle I won was the walls I had to break down in order to give my heart to Angel."
Safety gang All round it was a safe read - no cheating at all.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
As soon as he touched me, I would break. As soon as he kissed me, I would crash. And as soon as he loved me, I would shatter.
This was a me vs. the book kinda deal, mainly due to my love hate with the heroine. She is the president of an all female MC, and while she has the control of everything around her she just wants someone to take it from her behind closed doors. Usually I gobble these kind of stories up, when you have such a "strong" female, assumptions and expectations are set, a strong alpha male needs to be present or else it won't make any sense. Angel is our hero and he is the ONLY thing that kept me in the book. There was so much going on and I didn't feel her strength when I expected it most leaving me feeling disappointed in Jay. Also, since I am rambling on, I'm not a fan of when the hero refers to himself as an "Alpha", kind of defeats the purpose. As you can see this is all me and nothing to do with the authors skill, just me emotional reaction to the heroine. I would still recommend this to my friends, as I am sure others will love it and eat it it all up, it just wasn't entirely for me.

Holy Mother of "why the hell has this ended?" Batman!!! I'm hooked I tell you. H.O.O.K.E.D. In fact, I was hooked from the first Chapter. That's right, the very first one, and it's extremely hard to get me sucked in THAT early.
I have to get a few things off my chest before I begin my review. First, what a freaking PERFECT combination! MC and Military, brilliant. Two bad asses that not only compliment each other, but make each other stronger. Now that's what I'm talking about. Second, just for the record, I NEVER write a review immediately after reading the book. I like to sit and let it marinate so that I can make sure I get everything out that needs to be said. So the fact that I'm currently sitting at my computer on a family night, 1 hour after finishing this book, writing my review, speaks VOLUMES about this one. Shall we begin?
Jay is the President of an all female MC in Greensville, Ohio (I put that in there because I was born in OH and proud this small as pea city got some cred). Anyway, Jay has spent the last few years trying to prove to every male she knows that she's capable of having and running the MC. She's tired of constantly being told that being a chick means she doesn't count. Well...with the fact that young girls are going missing in her town and no one seems to be doing anything about it, Jay is on her own personal mission to see that justice is served. Ok, she might a hidden agenda considering her twin sister went missing a few years ago too.
Angel is the "boss" of his SEALs. He also happens to own a construction company, with his "brothers" that picks up business when they're actually home and not on a mission. When he's called to a job site, he's completely taken back by Jay. It's not only her beauty that draws him in, but a conversation that he overhears that has lit a fire under him the he can't seem to step away from. Ironically, Angel's "team" has been called in, working on these missing girls. But it's getting too serious, and fast. Not only with the mission, but with Jay.
The chemistry between these two is more than hot. It's lava, it's volcanic because every time they are together, their passion is explosive. Some of the hottest scenes I've read in a while. But as you continue reading, their relationship becomes more than sex, more than dominate/submissive, it becomes real...for both of them, and neither one knows how to handle it.
The whole time these two are at each other, the missing girls situation is escalating to the point that the poo is about to hit the fan. Is Jay in trouble? Is Angel in trouble? Will these two figure out that love is love, no matter what? HA! I'm not telling, because in all honesty, this book is worth YOU reading it to find out. Trust me. You won't be disappointed. Shoot...it's only been a little over an hour and I already have a book hangover.
*I was gifted this book by the Author in exchange for my honest review.
I really enjoyed that character. They felt real, and I felt that they grew every chapter. The storyline is all over the place, which just makes you feel you missed something. Suddenly, characters knew things even if they weren't in the room. Everything feels like a time skip. Just didn't make a lot of sense.
Angel -MML- was super aphla hot!!! He was dominating he was passionate, he was protective, but he wasn't an asshole And that was the main thing. And the things he He said during wonderful sexy time. Yummy!!!!
Jay -MFL- she is very interesting as she starts out with someone in control of what's happening around her, but then it all goes downhill. Other than her gaining feelings for Angel, I don't really understand why.
The only reason for 3 stars are for the sexy times.

This book is full of grit, tension, drama, suspense and hot, hot, hot men and women. An all-female motorcycle club led by Genevieve Gold, aka Jay, shows team effort, cunning attitude and sisterly love exist, without having to rely on the male testosterone. Meanwhile, an Alpha male dominates a group of Navy Seals, pledged to protect and uphold the citizens' welfare. News about missing daughters, girls, teens spread like wildfire and both teams - The King's Harlots (all-female MC) and Vice-One (Navy Seals) vowed to do whatever it takes them to save the victims and put a stop in the insanity. But something sinister lurks within the confines of both groups, something horrible, something vile and heinous.
What can I say? The gruesome truth about the teens/girls disappearance tore my heart. I couldn't imagine how despicable the people behind this crime were. So sick! The main issue about finding the girls made this story gripping. The characters, however, were a bit too much to me. Here was an Alpha male who thought highly of himself and a female leader who became a softie after declaring that she wasn't one to beg. I just thought they were too self-absorbed of themselves. I don't know how but I couldn't seem to like them. But with the other characters, like Dean and Max.. now those were the characters I'd want to know. The writing was good and the author seemed to know a lot about motorcycle clubs and gangs and Seals. I was impressed.
I have never been on the fence about a star rating before; Am I a 3 or a 4 I am leaning closer to a 4. I went in completely blind like I tend to do. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least.
Jay started out as a kick butt kind of chick, leader of the MC. I loved that, and then I felt like she was becoming weak as the story progressed but she came back with a vengeance.
Angel he has my heart, he was what everyone calls “alpha” male to be sure. No way around that, he wanted what he wanted and he went for it. It works for him.
I will admit to being confused with some of the time-line, or who was in the driver’s seat with narration were we in Jay or Angel even though clearly marked in the book. I had to go back several times and check.
There are truly some great Ah Ha moments; I thoroughly enjoyed the last 20 percent. This is where Jay really comes in to her own I think anyways.
I am still not a fan of Meeka, she was just so sketchy and I know all is revealed at the end but I don’t know. Maybe I just need to suck it up and read the next book.
*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*
Star Ratings: Heroine (Genevieve): 2/5 Hero (Angel): 1/5 Plot: 2/5 Grovel: H made h beg (and not just for sex) and I will never forgive him, or her, for it because she did whatever he wanted her to do Cheating: none HEA: yes Triggers: none
Average score: 2/5
Best Lines: “I was the creator of my own story, and no man was going to change that.”
Worst Lines: H to h:“I told you I would make you fall for me.” Yeah but what I didn’t know was that you were going to make her beg for everything
Personal Review: I had such high expectations with this book because the blurb was intriguing but every single sentence I read increased my hatred towards both the h and H. Anytime I felt anything positive about them, I got disappointed.
And before people get mad, yes the H did appreciate the h being a strong woman and said how much he respected her BUT ONLY THROUGH INTERNAL DIALOGUE!! He never actually said the words out loud to her. So if I was the h, how would I know he’s not a chauvinistic dickhead?! His actions did not show what he internally said.
Random Ramblings: •An all-female Motorcycle Club….YES!!!
•Hmmm…not so sure I want to read Meeka’s story, she annoyed me a little in this book •I can understand a strong, in-control woman wanting to be supported by a strong man but I had hoped that the strong woman does not need to beg for it •I am a little disappointed in the h…no MC man would ever give up control of his bike and this woman does which is a stupid move when she is trying to be taken seriously in a man’s world. I would have respected the h AND the H more if he allowed her to be her strong self
Overall Feeling:
“This is going to be one hell of a power play.”
Not so much of a power-play than a woman giving in to a man following sex
I suppose my expectations of an all-woman MC was too high…
Special message to all the characters in this book…
Loved this idea of MC meets Military it totally works! The chemistry between Angel & Jay was hot from the very beginning. He brought her softer loving side that was hidden well inside and she awakened in him the alpha inside of him that had been dormant. This is such a great start for this series it really was I great read the author did an amazing job creating anticipation for what's to come in this series with the story because I have a lot of unanswered questions and with the secondary characters. She'll probably continue with Max and Dale but can I honestly say that I'm super intrigued by Coby, can't wait to read his story.
2.75 Stars The struggle was real with this one. I do my absolute best to finish what I start, so I soldiered through this book (no pun intended). However, once I finished the book I still didn’t get much closure. Now that I’ve read the book, I’ve looked through a few of the other reviews. Typically, with ARCs I go in blind so my review is all my own. There was no chance of that happening in this case. Apparently, I’m experiencing a serious case of “IT MUST BE ME”. I didn’t hate the book; I just feel it was overly ambitious. Here’s what went well: Smoking hot sex scenes and a great alpha male hero, who’s hot and bossy. The overall concept is great. I love the idea of a badass all female MC kicking butt and taking names. It just didn’t work out that way . Here’s what could use some work (in my opinion): The plot was all over the place. This book takes “doing too much” to the MAX. I’m still trying to figure out if it’s an MC Romance, Suspense, Mystery, Feminist Manifesto, or Military Drama. There’s just so much going on and multiple storylines at play that none of them were executed as well as they could have been, again that’s my opinion. With that said, if you like lots of over the top drama, this is your gig. My biggest issue with this book is the heroine. She does all this talk about not needing a man to validate her or her MC’s existence, yet she doesn’t hesitate to call on multiple other MCs and her new boyfriend to help her. She also goes on ad nauseam about how much she’s doing to find the kidnapped girls, however the only thing she really does is have sex and hosts ineffectual meetings at the MC. She never actually does anything worthwhile. It was literally at 66% of the book when she mentions the research she had pulled together on the missing women. WTF? Don’t sit around talking; get up and do something. Needless to say that frustrated me to no end. My next issue is that multiple storylines never get resolved. I don’t want to completely ruin the experience for anyone else with spoilers, but there’s A LOT going in this book. I assume the purpose of having multiple storylines is to set the stage for future releases, however a couple of the storylines really should have been tied up better in this first installment. More isn’t always better. WHEW…I went full on rant! Sorry, I didn’t mean for that to happen Moving on... The concept is great and I really wanted to love this book, however it confounded more than entertained me. That’s not to say others won’t enjoy this. Other posted reviews are great and again… SMOKING HOT sex scenes. So, if you like the idea of an all-female MC making a name for themselves in a male dominated world and want to take a chance, give this book a shot. Just don’t say you weren’t warned if it doesn’t quite deliver.
**I received an ARC via NetGalley for my honest review**
The story is one of the hottest I've read this year! Jay and Angel's chemistry is amazing and leaves you wanting more, but you may need to take a cold shower. (no, seriously...it's HOT)
Jay, is the president of the Kings Harlots. An all female MC. Jay is constantly trying to prove herself worthy. She grow up around her father's MC and later dated the VP of that club. (It was a very bad relationship) When that relationship ended, Jay built walls around her heart to keep men out. She wants the men in her life to respect her and has a very hard time letting go of any control. She feels she must stay strong at all times, or she will be seen as weak by all those who surround her.
Then along comes Angel Rodriguez. Angel rocks her world and pushes Jay's boundaries from the very beginning, when he wouldn't even tell her his name. Angel is a Navy SEAL and all in all badass. He is the team leader of his SEAL team, ViceOne . If you love a Alpha male and a Sexual Dominate rolled into one, then Angel is your dream man. The things that man says, oh hot damn.
Of course, when the President of a MC club and a Navy Seal get together there are some issues and problems they must work though. And I'm glad to say, that is exactly what they did. They worked at them together. These two, worked hard to love each other, grow together, and learn to lean on each other in hard times. It was a great feeling to see how they changed when they no longer were scared of love.
It's a love story about overcoming fears and learning to love freely.

Holy Bananas!!! This book had me from page one! I could not put it down (seriously… one day I wanted to leave work early just so I could keep reading!!)
The alpha male meets the alpha female, who will break who?? The chemistry between these two is explosive like ON FIRE, will he break her… will she let him??
Jay is the beautiful headstrong president of The King’s Harlots, an all-female motorcycle club. She is completely bad-ass; she proves time and time again that she is a force to be reckoned with. She has her demons, When young girls start disappearing in her town she is troubled with the memories of her missing sister. Jay is determined to find out what is happening to these girls.
Angel is the sexy Navy Seal/Construction Contractor, in charge of the Vice-One squad. Angel and his men have been given a mission, their mission… To find out what has happens to the missing girls and to find out where they have been taken.
As their lives intertwine they fight for family, fight for the missing girls but most of all they fight for their love.
I highly recommend this book, and I am really hoping that the Author will continue on with the story of The King’s Harlots girls and the men of the Vice-One squad. I will be first in line to read them!!

Grit by J.M. Walker Angel & Jay MC & MILITARY - PERFECT 4.5 STARS
This is a story full of emotion, angst, and of course tons of grit. There are multiple stories going on with one common denominator, find out who's taking the girls! It has a plethora of suspense, a surplus of humor, and ample sex appeal.
Angel is a Vice-One team leader and if he's not on an assignment with his "brothers", you can find him with his construction company helping to repair the King's Harlot's MC building. He's all alpha, he's dark and domineering, and he's after Jay. Lucky girl! I found him easy to love right away. He's a good guy with a huge heart. It's just took the right girl to open it up.
Jay (Genevieve) is the president of King's Harlots all woman Motorcycle Club. Wow, incredibly impressive. I liked her, but thought she could have been a smidge more solid. Don't get me wrong, I think she was perfect in most everything, I just wish she would have swore more, or punched someone or something. I guess I'm a dork, but I just love those crazy fighter types! She's dealing with a mountain a shit. Her missing sister, disappearing girls, and attacks on her MC. Now, add a holy hotness Military man and her sanity just went out the window.
The supporting characters cast isn't too big. Those that bare mentioning would be Max and Dale. I found Max to be a pretty excellent friend. She seems to be dealing with some shit of her own (*cough, Dale) and could use her own book (eh em, JM). Dale on the other hand, he's kind of a dick, but a dick you want to know more about... I suppose he could make a cameo in Max's book....lol!
So to wrap this up. The storyline is excellent... MC and Military... great combo! The pacing is good, the dialogue flows, and the tension leading up to the climax was just right. Can't wait to see the detonation that will be Max vs. Dale.
OKAY WOW.... I really loved this book. I loved the the unlikely love story of two very different groups of people. I really liked how dedicated Angel was to Jay. Genevieve "Jay" was a strong independent heroine. She had a no bulls*** attitude that grabbed me from the start. Jay was always there for her sisters. Trying to prove herself to all the men in her life. Her love and heartbreak for her sister tore at me. Angel was a wonderfully powerful alpha male. He had a take charge demeanor. Angel was strong for his brothers. He fought hard for things he believed in. Together there chemistry was explosive. I mean holy cow. The things they said to each other...wow! They knew exactly what the other needed. Angel pushed Jay in a way no one had ever done. There give and take relationship seemed to be right what they both needed. The love was beautiful and unexpected. It seemed that neither knew what to do when the sex was not just sex anymore. Seeing them grow was one of my favorite parts. Bringing in outside problems there was some drama in this book as well. From Jay's MC family (her dad and Tyler), or her missing twin sister Violet. Problems within Jay's own MC. Angels Navy Seal job. He was leaving at a drop of a hat for weeks at a time. Feeling ambushed. There were some wonderful twists I did not see coming. (no spoilers here sorry) Jay and Angel both had strong friends that they could lean on for support. Overall I felt this was a powerful story of overcoming what life throws at you but still winning in love. I can not wait for the next installment in this series. I would recommend this book to everyone but specifically all you who like a good MC or Military Romance!
Holy Cow!!! What the heck was that....only one of the best books I've read recently!!! I was easily sucked into the life of Jay and Angel. Jay is the President of an all-girl MC and Angel is a Navy Seal with a construction business as a side job. Both of their lives are very different, yet their lives are very interconnected and have the same goals in mind. I was sitting on the edge of my seat and was very tempted many times to skip ahead to find out the outcome. I loved the characters and want to know more about Max and find out about her more. I am looking forward to more from this author. This is a must read and one that I recommend highly.
I was given a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This is the first book I have read by J. M. Walker and I loved it. I love MC books, and this book isn't you're typical MC book. No this is an all ladies MC story.
You meet Jay, the feisty female president. Her MC sister are her life. With her blood sister missing along with numerous of of other girls. Jay makes it her mission to find them. She meets Angel one day and the sexy military man digs deep inside her. He gets under her skin. Demanding and commanding her in and outside the bedroom, but it is what Jay needs. The intense sexual connection between them is off the charts. But is not only the sexual connection you get to see. You see the deep feelings they both carry but are too scared to let the overwhelming love shine through. What do you get when 2 hard headed people headlock? You get explosive sex scenes and screaming arguments over domination and love. You are set on an emotional path with Jay and Angel, but it's one that gets you to their HEA!
This series has a lot of interesting aspects, starting with an all-female motorcycle club mixing with an elite military squad. The characters are all damaged, and their quest to rescue sex-slaves doesn't make their lives easier.
In the first story, the leaders of both groups have to work together to rescue someone important to one of them. Of course, they are attracted to each other, and they try to overcome the angst with sex. Works for me.
This could have been so much better with some minor structural changes, but it was a solid, gritty, emotionally powerful story.
"We were the first female motorcycle club in the country. That's right. An all-woman MC. Born and raised into the lifestyle, I grew up around bikers. These ladies were my family. My best friends. My sisters."
Genevieve AKA Jay, is the president of the Kings Harlots. She is downright one of the most kick-ass sassy heroines that I have had the pleasure to read. She has alot to prove, not just to her sisters and family but to herself and the world. That is alot of pressure and control to have on one's shoulders. But hell, she does it well.
"Vice-One was more than a team; we were family. Brothers. Not by blood, but by power, strength and commitment alone. I loved them like they were my own. They were apart of me."
Angel Rodriguez is a navy seal and him and his brothers are trying to find missing girls. He is mysterious, dominating, possessive and loyal but with being a leader, has a tendency to take control of situations. I have come to want that in my hero.
Angel and Jay meet and they have an instant attraction to each other. The banter and the sexual tension between these two characters are one of the most explosive that I have read. You really can cut it with a knife it is that thick and I just love how J.M. made that all the more real to me.
"Angel Rodriquez was the epitome of every sinful desire I had. Every dark secret. Every fetish and fantasy. He dominated my body and took control, giving me the greatest pleasure in return"
"What Jay and I had, although short lived, would not be over. She was hard asses and stubborn as hell but I knew she was attracted to me. Whether she wanted to admit to it or not, she didn't want this to be over anymore than I did"
The storyline is new for me, especially when you combine bikers, girl one at that with military. It was done in a way that was original, that had alot of depth to it. I think J.M. did an awesome job at combining these two genres, just a genius idea! The obstacles that are apparent in the story were well thought out and brought alot to the table. You cant help but be immersed in the story!
Max, Meeka, Brogan, Creena, Dale, Asher, Coby and Stone brought alot to the table for me. Their strength and voice brought a certain intensity to it to where I cannot wait to see what J.M. comes up with next. I fell hard for them all and I need the next ones like yesterday!
This is what I was looking for in a story and I didnt even know it! Expect to be taken on a hell of a ride that has alot of grit, sass and spunk. I enjoyed it immensely!
This was the first book I have read from this Author and has totally blown my mind!
I haven't read many MC books and I think this was a great opportunity to get myself into the hype where there are not only motorcycles, guns, and hunks but kick ass heroines and a plot so twisted you just have to keep reading. My first surprise was to find the lead character to be a female, I guess I was expecting the stereotypical alpha male to be running the show here, and Oh boy was Jay a firecracker of a lead! She is feisty, determined, beautiful, strong and no nonsense about her. She has had her world turned upside down and as the president of the King's Harlots she must stand by her crew and lead by example. The other girls in the club are secondary characters who I hope one day will have their own book, so many stories there to tell. The presence of Angel, who is a Navy Seal, brings an unexpected "chaos" into Jay's perfectly structured life. However, his presence, once seemed as obnoxious, will soon be welcomed as her life and those of the members of the club seem in danger. Both Angel and Jay hide vital information about their clandestine activities and soon will realise that their objective is one and the same. Together they must not only fight a ruthless organisation but also comes to term with what being together entails for being apart is not an option. With plenty of angst, steamy scenes, and so many twists and turns, make this read a truly enjoyable one!. I can't wait to read more from this Author.
*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
In this new series, J.M. Walker offers the reader a different take on the typical MC read. The King's Harlots MC is an all female club, and the president is a woman named Genevieve aka "Jay". She grew up in the "life" and started her own club because she got sick of women always being viewed as weak and treated like second class citizens. The women who belong to her club are her family, and there is nothing she wouldn't do for them. When she first meets Angel Rodriguez, a Navy SEAL, you could cut the sexual tension that exists between them with a knife. After this brief encounter, they each go their separate ways until fate intervenes and brings them back into each other lives. As they spend more and more time together, their feelings for one another grow stronger and stronger. Just as they begin to really trust one another, chaos ensues and outside forces threaten to destroy everything they have built. Is their new found love strong enough to survive?
While there were some points in the story when the writing felt somewhat disconnected to me, there were parts that I really did enjoy. The sex scenes were hot, and the characters were well developed. I really liked Angel and Jay as well as all of the supporting characters. I look forward to reading more about them in the future books.
LOVED this book!!! J.M. Walker knocks it out of the park AGAIN! When an all girl motorcycle club meets a group of sizzling Navy Seals, the steam is intense. This book captures you from the beginning and you are more than happy to go on the ride. Jay tries to fight the attraction she feels for Angel but he's determined to get what he wants. Her. She is reluctant to allow anyone but her sisters but the heart wants what it wants. I highly recommend this book for any and all readers especially if you like military or MC romances. Its everything you could possibly want in a book. Love, hate, drama and suspense! Oh, and really hot sex. Great job J.M. Walker. It was a pleasure to read. XOXOX
My 4 Stars if for Angel. I enjoyed this book, but Jay just annoyed me. She was suppose to be this strong MC president of a Womens Motorcycle Club, but just felt to me like she had no control. She was a bad ass president but she let things slide, where in a normal MC club members wouldn't be able to get away with anything For me she was too soft on Meeka, wanted her to show more force.
But all in all it was a good story. Loved Angel and his Vice-1 group!
Wow, that was one of the most intense books I've read. Military meets MC and the MC is all female. Yup, you guessed right --- FIREWORKS!! Jay and Angel are hot hot hot together!! So strong separately but they are solid steel together, if they could just get past the fact that neither of them ever wanted to fall in love.
P.S. Please tell me Max and Dale get their own book!! Pretty please!!
I really wanted to like this book. It’s been on my TBR forever and a day. Unfortunately, I just couldn’t get into it. Love the premise of the story but the execution just wasn’t for me. The dialogue was unnatural and the plot had so many holes. I didn’t have much left but I couldn’t make myself read anymore.
This is my first J.M. Walker book and I really loved the sound of the story.
The whole idea of Grit really drew me in and I'm a sucker for an alpha hero like Angel, while throwing in a bad ass female biker heroine like Jay. These two had a great foundation and their first interaction had me from the start but from then on their interactions always seemed to be dominated by their need to one up each other with sexual suggestions and Angel showing Jay he can be the top dog that she needs in her life. I really wanted more emotionally chats with the characters but these came way later in the story and if they had occurred earlier on, this would have helped with my emotional connection to them.
There were so many twists and turns in Grit that I really did not anticipate. I loved the reveal of the bad guy and how he was involved but I really wanted more of this near the end - the scene only seemed to last a few pages and I wanted it to be a bigger deal. There were a few scenes in the Grit that required a much bigger reaction from the characters instead of just being swept under the carpet. I am definitely going to read more in the series because the books have very high ratings and I love all the characters. That must mean the series gets better.
Overall it was a decent read. I needed more time with Tyler and working out why he is such a horrible character, especially with what he holds over Jay's dad. There's just some dots I can't connect yet and I'm hoping this is explained more later. J.M. Walker did a great job of making sure both MC's were working towards the same goal and trying to expose the same bad guy without making each other aware about it. Neither of them knew what the other was involved in to what extent until half way through and I really enjoyed that.
This book had a really good premise. Showcasing an all woman MC and a team of male SEALS, I was really excited. I really like MC romance and I'd never read a story in which a woman was a member of the club. An old lady, yes; related to members, for sure; but never as a member with decision-making power, and that left me intrigued.
The background of the story revolved around sex trafficking and trying to find out what happened to Jay's twin sister (Violet) when she disapeared years before. It was a nice story, but it wasn't exactly what I was expecting.
For a president of a female MC, I think Jay could have been stronger and less whiny. I understand she was under a lot of stress and it's undeniably hard to be respected as a woman, specially in an environment dominated by men. And that was all the more reason for her to be incisive and exercise her dominance, and not act like a wannabe badass.
The timing was alsoall over the place. Angel was here, then he was immediately on a mission, that soon enough was over and he was back. It was all so odd and confusing. Just like the background and the approach to the bad person behind it all (don't worry, I won't spoil anything). The person knew about Jay's existence, but when she stumbled upon some messages, the person was surprised to know Violet had a sister (Jay), but than acted like the one responsible for sending the threats to Jay a while earlier.
Despite all that, it was an interesting and engaging story, and I'm even more excited about the secondary characters' books than Jay and Angel's, so I'll keep reading for sure.
