Of all the menopausal/premenopausal books that I've read, this one was my favorite and I can see purchasing it (I borrowed it initially from my public library) for future guidance and exploration. There are great topics included in the book such as good things to eat, exercises, meditations, and essential oils that are helpful. Unlike many other books, this book does not go into any sort of detail about what is "bad" for you. Nor does it help you to make a diet plan. It simply tells you all the good things in life that you can incorporate, if you want. It is a nice addition to your home library and I highly recommend it.
Why can’t I find a doctor that will tell me these things! Great overview of symptoms of perimenopause and menopause with lots of natural: diet, herbal, exercise, was to counter and lessen symptoms. Nice recap of HRT.
This is a really informative and up to date book. I was already on board with a lot of the natural remedy content, but did pick up a more in depth understanding surrounding hormones/ HRT and current research surrounding this .
This is a wonderful hardback book that is absolutely full of tips, advice and techniques for coping with menopause. Not just the event itself, but also the lead up including the peri-menopause and also after as well.
It is laid out in a very good way starting with an intro from the author and then leading onto what menopause is. This then goes into the symptoms as it is not just all about hot sweats and mood swings.
Each of the main sections after is introduced and then gone into more detail. This makes it very useful as there are page number references to go to if you want something more specific.
The book is broken down into the following categories A Natural Menopause Natural Remedies Mental Wellness Nutrition Excercise What you need to know about HRT and then- bibliography, index, resources and about the authors and acknowledgements.
I really found this book to be very informative, well laid out and very easy to either look for something specific or to browse through. I thought the section on Mental Well-being very useful for everyday use as well as for me as I am peri-menopausal.
This is a fabulous book and one that I would very definitely recommend to those coming up to this stage in their lives.
