I loved this book. There was nothing deep or mysterious about it. Just a guy rescuing a girl in a terrible situation. This isn't a Kafka short story, it's a literary vacation. There is nothing particularly realistic about this book, but if you want reality, watch the news.

Justice Served



I like how Gideon "Beast" Lee doesn't suffer fools, and he makes fools suffer. I appreciate how he responds to the danger that Fleur Durant finds herself in. I especially love that he gives her a seat at the table when it comes to deciding some of what happens next.

The heat is quick and fiery. There's danger that is swiftly and soundly dealt with but only after Fleur is put in a very compromised and scary position. (Check your triggers.) This may start very scary, but I love the results, including a bit of vigilante justice. Beast and Fleur shouldn't fit, but they do.

Her "friend" proves a couple of times that she has a big set with the stunts she pulls. I'm honestly ambivalent towards her given the things she's done and the cost she pays. I want to feel bad for her, but I also want so much worse for her based on her actions. Quite the conundrum.

I received an author's copy of the audio book. The narrator is Umi Markkanen, and she again provides a wonderful performance.

This isn’t a long book (less than 6 hours) of listening and it could have easily be double as long.
I really liked it but I probably have loved it if we gotten less speed and more character depth and development.

However, this was an enjoyable story and likable characters. I think the writing is good and so was the narrator. All in all a solid 4 stars - good but not excellent.

Liked the story cos it was nice and short and straight to the action, no humbug. There are different women with different characters that suits the stories that the author writes. Excellent author she deserves a gold star

Fleur and Beast are total opposites. Their first meeting was not normal or usual. Beast met Fleur when she was at her lowest. He stayed with her, for her. Fleur is a ‘yes’ girl. She is soft spoken with few friends and she rarely says no. She also likes to make people happy but this was one such occasion where it backfired. Beast is the Enforcer for the Salvation Bane and is used to blood on his hands. Though they are opposites, I love how comfortable she becomes with him. Their interactions are fun to read because she is not afraid to speak her mind with him. I have learnt that is unusual for her. But going through what she has gone through and meeting him, I can see why she would go through those internal changes.

A few possible trigger warnings: I would like mention that there are scenes of torture. The next point I would like to mention is the sex scenes do include anal sex/anal play.

This is not the first book in the series and it is a pretty short story. However, it did keep me connected and reading until the end. Fleur and Beast have an explosive chemistry which is exciting to read though there is much more to the story.

This is wonderful story for readers who love MC, who are okay with reading some harsh scenes and enjoy love’s explosive chemistry.

Ms. Karland is a wonderful MC writer and her characters are well crafted to enable the reader to get to know them. I enjoyed how she did not make Fleur a victim, but instead someone who refuses to let her past determine her future. I like the MC she has created and enjoy reading this series. Though the members are rough; the MC is a family and you do not mess with the family. If you are a fan of the MC genre, then give Salvation Bane MC and Beast a read.

This is the story of Beast and Fleur, book 2 of the series. Each book can be read as a stand alone, however I got more out of it reading it in order. Beast is the MC enforcer. Fleur is his opposite, a soft spoken gentle women, at a low point in her life. They make a cute couple, their characteristics complimenting each other. I liked the story, and how loving Fleur showed the softer side of Beast. The narration was well done. I received a free copy of this audiobook, and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Heat- YMMV. They do ALL the things and it’s very explicit. If you like explicit, it’s about a 4/5 on the hotness scale. If you don’t like explicit or reading about ALL the things, you would rate it lower.

Trope(s)- Damsel in Distress, Instalust, Grumpy /Sunshine.
What I liked- I liked the character arc. Beast/Gideon is gruff but Fleur brings out the best in him. Fleur tends to be a pushover, but there was marked growth on both of their parts.
What I didn’t like- the attempted S.A. was a little hard to read.
Can we talk about… The cover. I keep thinking that the model is going to say, “Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya.”
Narration Review
Umi is, as always, flawless. They do all of the character voices equally well and I forgot their voice sounded feminine when she was doing the male voices.

This was a great book. Loved the characters and the storyline. Love they have the bad boy biker image but are the good guys. This had good world building in it and the narrator was great with the characters making you want to hear more and follow the book closely wanting more. I listened to the first book, and it hooked me some, but this one hooked me all the way. I can't wait to get more in the series. Love to that it refers to the other clubs in the Bones MC world. I received this as an ARC and this is my honest review.

This one starts out darker than some of the others, so I was hooked instantly.

Smex club.
Traff!cking.
Non-con.
Possessive male lead.
Vengeance.
Club life.
Fast-burn.

It does use the ‘misunderstanding’ trope but that’s resolved pretty quickly, after they fall pretty fast and hard. IMO, it works.

Still hooked on this series.

4 stars.

Audio:
The narrator did a great job - performing rather than sounding like a bot, and using different voices for different characters. Excellent. Overall sound quality was perfect. 5 stars.

Fleur and Beast meet under unusual circumstances. Beast is a protector at heart even if that means he has to get his hands dirty. When he sees Fleur in an odd situation, he starts to research the people involved and his protector instincts kick into high gear. I really enjoyed this one and how Fleur finds her confidence with Beast. Get ready for an interesting ride with this quick listen!

I have to say so far Beast/Gideon is the most grumpiest of grumps til he comes face to face with Fleur (what a beautiful name).

Fleur being alone and wanting a friend finds one a high school friend. Tricked and betrayed, she is wary of anyone and anything any says but Beast/Gideon stays firm and consistent.

Umi Markkanen is perfect for these interconnected biking series and I am quite envious of her voice and how she just switches from character to character...it is like being a proverbial fly on the wall.

They are so opposite Fleur is innocent almost to the point of gullible but its more a naive innocence Beast is the enforcer of MC who takes on covert missions pretty much the total opposite of innocence. Beast saves Fleur and convinces her to hang around for a while. They are super hot together and there are funny moments as well and we get see why Beast has his name when he deals with the people messing with Fleur. You don't need to have read Vicious to read Beast but you should give Vicious a read its a great start to the series. When your looking for your next read after Beast you should grab Cain (Bones MC) who are the sister club to Salvations Bane and see the family from the beginning.

An interesting and enjoyable read. If MC romances between characters who are opposites are your thing then grab this book and give it a read. The author has done a great job with the plot and the characters making it so I didn’t want to put the book down until I had finished it completely.
