This is definitely a fantasy story. Joseph knowing immediately his feelings for Briana was not a dream. Briana felt the same way but had a secret she felt he would not accept. Jeffery not revealing his true identity because he enjoyed the way she treated him, a normal person. Once their secrets were revealed, they both still felt the same way. I loved Jeffery not giving in to the constant rejection from Briana.
Briana Duvaulle has taken the place of her cousin Crystal, same last name, at the fancy charity gala. The Monte Carlo grand ballroom carpet is so luxurious that her fancy gold sandals sink into it. Her nerves, however, were at their breaking point. Her imagination had everyone in the room knowing her secret. Crystal thought just one night out with a swarm of people might jog her memory enough to remember one single day that her mind refused to recall. A memory glitch that had turned her life upside down.
The Principality of Monaco was a little world of dreams. The sea, the rocks, the ancient narrow streets, and the gardens that knew no seasons, full of flowers and sweet, heady perfume. But the Riviera getaway had recently turned into a waking nightmare for Briana. She was seriously afraid she was losing her mind—a horrible thing for a woman of twenty-six. Briana’s hand trembled against the borrowed sequined bag as she slipped her wrap from her shoulders and moved toward the coat check.
A man stood in front of her, his shoulders broad beneath the jet-black tuxedo jacket, an overcoat over his arm. She stepped up beside him, and in her nervousness, the evening bag slipped from her fingers. They bent at the same time. Fingers touched and shoulders brushed as they both reached for the bag. Off-balance, Briana tipped forward. Simultaneously their heads turned...and his lips brushed hers. A simple accidental brushing of lips set off sparks electric enough to rival a dazzling display of fireworks against the French Riviera skyline.
Briana nearly toppled over in her haste to jerk away. The man—who stared back at her with a similar look of spellbound astonishment—simply took her breath away. She tasted the scent of his cologne on her lips. For what seemed like forever, he stared, as if he could see right into her soul. No, no one knew her secret. For tonight, she was someone else; she could forget the decisions that would have to be made. Still, the way he looked at her, she imagined he could see what she so desperately wanted to hide.
And then he smiled—a smile so brilliant, she felt the chaos of her real life slip away, felt her insides turn molten. He glanced down at the silver-embossed invitation she still held clutched in her hand. “Crystal Duvaulle?” “And you are?” “Joseph Castillo. He drew her hand to his lips and gently brushed a kiss to her knuckles, his gaze holding hers as gently—as surely—as the mere tips of his fingers. Prickles of warmth arrowed up her arm straight to her heart. “I’m charmed. It’s been a while since a gallant gentleman kissed my hand.”
“Likewise, Miss Duvaulle.” Laughter tickled her insides. “Gallant gentlemen kiss your hand, too?” Amusement twinkled in his velvety brown eyes. “Would it surprise you if I said yes?” She bit her bottom lip. “Maybe. You strike me as being very proper, yet I’d have pegged you as being, uh... straight.” His brows shot upward. “And you’d be correct. Allow me to clarify. I meant that I, too, am charmed.” His dark gaze touched her like a caress, held her, his voice a mere whisper. “More than you know.”
Throughout the evening she made several attempts at conversation with other guests, sipped expensive champagne, and drank in the opulence of the ballroom. Still, her gaze strayed to Joseph Castillo. And each time she looked his way, he was looking back. His carriage was erect, his stride sure as he crossed the room. And Briana was rooted to the spot, helpless to do little more than stand there and wait for her destiny. Coup de foudre, she thought. Love at first sight. Oh, dear heaven, why now?
It was the worst possible time in her life to be blinded by such a silly notion. It wasn’t like she wasn’t used to guys falling over her; being a model it came with the territory, but this was different—he was different. His intensity overwhelmed her senses, and her problem-solving that had to be solved now within a seven-month period would make him run away forever anyway. But when she tried to tell him without telling him, he just wanted one night as friends. Two months later and many secrets later revealed, life has become even trickier, and they’ve fallen deeper in love.
But he was carrying his own secret that held a crown, so to speak, and had nothing to do with Kentucky. Such a funny, funny book. This had me laughing through what I would say was a good majority of the book. I loved this couple from beginning to end. The plot twist was perfect.
I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Joseph and Briana. She's an American who is traveling to live out her dad's dreams, after his accident. She's staying with her cousin in Monte Carlo while working. Crystal is to attend a charity event but sends Briana instead. When she runs into Joseph at the coat check she never planned on her life changing so drastically. Joseph is blown away with her vibrance and sass. When they spend an to amazing night together, he realizes her wants her in his life. But she's gone the next morning. She's hiding a secret she can't explain. She's pregnant and does not remember the events or to whom. But Joseph makes her feel happy and wants to help her find herself. When he reveals he's a Prince she doesn't want to cause him problems. When confronted with the realization that his family sent his betrothed with his brother, to pay her off for leaving him, she feels devastated. Especially after finding out that she's pregnant with his child and not at strangers. They managed to work through their ups and downs and have a hea that any Cinderella would love.

This is the first time for me reading something by Ms. Neff and I was not disappointed. It's a very charming and sweet story in which Joseph, who is a prince, falls head over heels in love with Briana, who thinks is pregnant and has no recollection of how it happened. They met accidentally on prestigious gala where Briana is because her cousin cannot attend. The story gets more interesting as they start spending more time with each other and get closer. And Joseph is trying to win Briana love and heart, even if she could be pregnant with no his child (I love him for that). The storyline was entertaining and engaging and flowed very nicely. The characters were well-developed and endearing, you can't help but fall in love with them. I enjoyed watching the story play out and following Joseph and Briana's journey. Very fun and cute story- definitely recommend you give it a try!

A very poignant love story between a Prince and an American woman. They were both visiting the Riviera, and they met at a charity event, where they instantly hit it off. The moment Prince Joseph met Briana, he knew she was the woman for him. They had a volatile relationship with many ups and downs even though they loved each other. There were many differences and Briana insisted that Joseph could not control everyone no matter what he believed as Prince. It was a test of the Prince's patients as he tried everything to change Briana's mind to no avail. What would it take to change her mind? You will enjoy strong willed, independent, Briana as she takes the ever romantic, Prince Joseph on as they struggle toward their HEA.

As a reader, you feel empathy for everyone while you are chuckling. Briana, is a woman, an ordinary, delightful fun woman. Joseph, is a Prince of Valldoria committed to meet his obligations as a Prince. They meet and are attracted. Briana has memory loss. There is a mix up. There are lots of mix ups. There are lots of questions. Answers don't necessarily match the questions. Joseph is betrothed to Raquel. but he loves Briana. Briana doesn't feel she can live up to a life of royalty. There are family concerns and questions. Joseph and Briana both made decisions in the best interst of the other, without communicating or asking. This is an absolutely delightful family. The story keeps you engaged and moving. Nicely done. I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A Cinderella story where the Prince goes to great lengths to obtain his bride. It was love at first sight for Prince Joseph and Brianna when they met by chance at a charity event. But Brianna has a secret and she knows she can never marry him. He went to great lengths to persuade her and I was blown away by how romantic and persistent he was. I was puzzled about how her secret was going to be resolved allowing them to be together. I found the resolution to be brilliant. I recommend for a change of pace from novels that relay a lot on bedroom scenes. These were tastefully presented leaving room for imagination rather than explicit descriptions.
This is book one in The Cinderella Escape Series and it is Briana and Joseph's story. Briana has lost her memory and is pregnant but she can not remember who it was by. Joseph is a prince and has an arranged marriage but when he meets Briana all bets are off the table and he has to persuade her that he is her forever person. This is the first book that i have read by Mindy Neff but not the last one as it was well written and a really great read. I recommend you read this book and you will not be disappointed.

This was a sweet, modern fairytale with a charming setup, but I struggled with parts of it. Even though the book is shorter than most romances, it felt really long at times. The pacing dragged in certain areas, and I found myself wishing the story would move along faster.
The romance itself had potential, and I liked the fairytale vibe, but the heroine’s constant back-and-forth with her decisions became frustrating. Instead of creating tension, it just made her feel indecisive and a bit annoying, which pulled me out of the story.
Overall, it’s a light read with a cute premise, but it didn’t quite hold my interest the way I hoped it would.
Brianna attend a function in place of her cousin Crystal, where she meets Joseph. Both are instantly smitten and has a romantic night together. Brianna is pregnant, (prior to meeting Joseph) but has no idea who the father is or even remember when this happened. Joseph doesn't care and starts in all earnest to court Brianna. Her cousin Crystal is rooting for them and assist Joseph in tracking down Brianna a few times. Some interesting and unexpected twists makes for a fun read.

Very well done romance. The Prince was impressive. His attempts to win the h were amazing and his feelings were swoon-worthy. The h was no loser. She was independent, strong and cared more about the Prince than she did about herself.
The mysterious pregnancy really illustrated the depth of feelings between these main characters. The Prince was willing to claim the baby as his. The h was unwilling to risk the royal heritage and the scandal that would result. Both were willing to make sacrifices for their love.
This was a wonderful Cinderella story. Briana has a memory glitch and can not figure out how she became pregnant when she doesn’t remember doing the act. She meets Joseph and it’s love at first site. She doesn’t want to bring Joseph into her mess she specially when she finds out he’s a Prince. Joseph is not about to take no for an answer.

It’s a Cinderella story with a twist. And I love it. Briana is a girl from America. Joseph is a prince. They met at a charity event and sparks were flying. They had one magical night. Next morning, Briana disappeared. Joseph searches far and wide. Will two people with such different backgrounds work?

A lovely first book in this trilogy. I liked both of the main characters and their interactions. Briana had a tendency to be a little annoying at times but Joseph was utterly charming from the start. There was a good lead-in to the next book too. A different take on the retelling of this age-old fairytale!

This book was a free deal on Amazon and since I usually love a good princess story I snapped it up without reading any reviews. The book has a storyline that had me curious enough to keep reading but I was disappointed to find out that it's rated PG 13 (maybe R) with too many bedroom scenes for my taste. It also felt like it took awhile to get to the end. Overall it was an okay read that I wanted to finish but I should have done more homework to know what I was getting.
I am rather glad I have read and enjoyed other books by this author, because this one didn't grab me. Well, Joseph was basically a stalker, she tells him she can't be with him quite a few times and he just keeps pursuing her, cute if she really is attracted but denying it, but stalkerish if not. As for the rest of it I found it a bit cheesy, and found myself rolling my eyes and saying "oh come on really?" at a few plot developments.
I always enjoy retelling of fairy tales. This starts out with the prince meeting his Cinderella at the ball but it takes a left turn shortly after. Joseph does chase after Briana but she tries to keep him at arms length as she is trying to figure out how she got pregnant. There are twists and turns before a HEA is found.
This is a sweet romance with a lot of passion. Joseph meets Briana and feels that she is his soul mate, the love of his life. When he learns about the pregnancy he accepts it and knows he will be a good father. Briana can't commit to Joseph till she knows the truth. I love the things he does and all the generous gifts, I especially enjoyed the day in the flower shop.
Magical hot springs. A memory glitch. And a positive pregnancy test. All this right here tells you you're in for a great romantic comedy. Fantastic characters with a story line that's entertaining and captivating. A fun, enjoyable small town royal romance that's perfect for your summer reading list

Enjoyed reading Briana and Prince Joseph's sweet romance. They meet at a gala and fall for each other but it can not be because she is pregnant and does not remember how it happened and he is betrothed to another being he is from a royal family. Liked how he continued to pursue her and even accepting her baby has his own. Sweet romance.

This book was filled with twists and turns and the unexpected! I loved how this story played out for this couple. They had to overcome obstacles and issues related to the heroines surprise pregnancy that she didn’t even know how it happened. It ends with a twist that you may or may not see coming!

4 1/2 stars A sweet and humorous story that was a joy to read. I laughed at her reaction though maybe if I had been in her shoes, it would have been a totally different reaction. I loved their chemistry and the scenes between them were fun to read.
