The reader might be confused initially, thinking this book is written by Dr. Jason Fung. However, this version simply includes all aspects and elements of the original author’s book, including a lot of the most relevant details. As result, understanding is bolstered by the presentation of facts that you can recollect in a less complicated way and immediately put into action for optimal weight loss. The guide is directed toward anyone who has been increasing their exercise routine and decreasing food calories with minimal or no significant weight loss.
Certainly, the aforementioned is important to your health but doesn’t cause health-giving weight loss for everyone. His theory ascertains that the “move more, eat less” concept is a myth. Oh, yeah, you might lose some weight at first, but many folks eventually experience a weight rebound, which can discourage further dieting. Dr. Jung directs you on the right path to a successful weight-loss effort with renewed comprehension of concrete ideas you can enact to lose weight.
I was very disappointed in the lack of references in this book. Many recommendations were promoted, supposedly based on science yet not a single “fact” was referenced. The recommendations seem reasonable, but so often these days people publish “facts” , drawing conclusions and forming theories based on these facts, and a closer look reveals them to be misinterpretations of existing evidence.
I found this book interesting and their reasoning for obesity pretty sound. Unfortunately even though they have plans to beat it in today's world it seems quite difficult. I recommend this book to anyone wanting a better understanding of why you don't lose weight when you try to eat less and move more.
I’m excited to try intermittent fasting, my goals are to rid myself of type 2 diabetes and to have a significant weight loss. And also to share this information with my husband and 2 sons who struggle with obesity, diabetes, sleep apnea and other health issues.
I have the regular book/edition of this and while it has great, "in depth" information on why things happen, this is a fast and easy read that pretty much gives you the same info. I call it my "cliff note" version. Dr. Jason Fung is great and you should watch him on YouTube.
I thought this book would be like so many other weight loss and guide books. The author breaks it down and really talks to the readers about how, when and where obesity begins. If I could remember one thing from the book it was: EAT LESS AND MOVE MORE
The information is excellent. The writing is a bit stilted and choppy. I prefer the book he wrote with Jimmy. Still this book presents the key elements in an easy to understand format. I like the summary points.
Loved how informative this summary was. Dr. Fung makes excellent points with why minimizing insulin resistance is key to aiding in weight loss, what food types and nutrients increase the levels and the ideal way to reduce it.
Coming from the medical field, and having read The full book Obesity code,I thought the summary version missed key points. It's probably an easier read than the full book because It doesn't include all the biochemistry. But still a good read.
I learned alot of new information and this book has left me excited to learn more about insulin resistance, fasting and the affects of stress on health and weight. I read the whole book in one sitting and then skimmed over it again the next day.
