Have we met? No? Well it's time to end that tragedy.
I'm a former firefighter/EMS guy who's picked up the proverbial pen and started writing bad boy romance stories. I co-write with my sister, Ali Parker, but live in Texas with my wife, my two little boys, my daughter, two dogs, three cats, and a turtle.
Yep. A turtle. You read that right. Don't be jealous.
You're going to find Billionaires, Bad Boys, Military Guys and loads of sexiness.
Something for everyone, hopefully. I'd love to connect with you. Check out the links below and come find me.
Alright I’ll own it, I’m a sucker for a military man and this did not disappoint! I also loved that the main female character was not a thin blond with big eyes! Read it, part of it will make you mad, but you’ll enjoy most of it without any problems!!!
Great story with wonderful characters. Loved Lincoln and Sophia. They had an instant attraction from the very first time they meet. Their story grabbed me from page one and I couldn’t put it down. Great chemistry between them that you will feel coming off the screen. I have read several books from this author and with each book I read, I love his work more and more. I can’t wait to read what is coming next.
I read an early review copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Sofia likes to keep her options open. She could fast track her career but what fun would she have studying all the time. She wanted to be young carefree.
Lincoln didn't really like authority. Being a SEAL this could be an issue, but he had no probs calling the shots when necessary, he just didn't want to be in charge.
When these two meet the air is charged and the chemistry is unmistakable, but with who her father is could this so called one night stand turn into more? Really great story.
Lincoln And Sofia Find Love Unexpectedly While His Career As A SEAL Hinges On Her Father’s Investigation Into His Actions. Serious In Tone, Yet Sweet And Sexy!
Ensign Lincoln Dobbs, twenty-eight, loves his life as a Navy SEAL. He travels the world on dangerous missions, and the rush of doing his job can only be matched with the clarity he finds when sailing the waters of the ocean. He is fortunate to work side by side with Ensign Eden Phillips, who is like a brother to him. Lincoln admittedly has difficulty with rules and authority from time to time. When it comes to doing his job and saving lives, he isn’t afraid to make the hard decisions that have some leaders hesitating, even though he knows he will be asked to account for his actions. For him, doing the job well comes before chain of command when a snap decision is needed. He has been offered the opportunity to advance several times, but each time he turns it down. He has no interest in paperwork and beurocracy. Remaining an Ensign, the lowest ranking officer, sits well with him.
Commander Charles Cantor has made it his personal mission to ruin Lincoln’s career in his final act before retirement. Cantor is the retiring Navy SEAL trainer at San Diego’s Coronado Island Naval base and his tough approach is infamous on post. Lincoln Dobbs is loved and respected amongst those he has worked with, yet Cantor has developed an unexplained animus toward him.
Sofia Cantor, twenty-five, is a UCLA medical student. She has always found school to be easy. Once a party girl, she has tried to be true to her promise to her Navy Commander father to be good and stay out of trouble. She has been offered the opportunity to fast track her degree by going to school during summer and winter breaks, but has thus far not felt inclined to rush her degree. She enjoys going home to San Diego for the summer and visiting her father and her best friend, Haley. Unfortunately, summer flings can be a bit of a challenge for her thanks to her father’s reputation. Once SEALs discover the connection, all interest in her is lost.
When Lincoln and Sofia see one another from across the room at the Commander’s retirement party, they have an instant connection – yet their one night stand might never have happened had Lincoln known she was the daughter of his nemesis. The timing couldn’t be worse, and if the Commander finds out about it, Lincoln’s career doesn’t stand a chance. Sofia’s bold confidence proves irresistible, however. Once she catches the alpha’s attention, he can’t help but risk it all to be with her.
Lincoln’s story is about the Navy and about friendship. It grapples with issues regarding the Navy’s views on chain of command. Sofia’s story portrays the complications that come with being the daughter and girlfriend of a SEAL. Lincoln and Sofia have much in common. They were both raised by single parents. They both love to sail. And both are on the precipice of a career that they aren’t in a hurry to begin. The story does a great job representing the various viewpoints surrounding Lincoln’s actions on assignment and an amazing job of wrapping it all up in a way that finally makes sense of everything. The couple finally earns their happy ending.
Lincoln and Sofia find love unexpectedly while his career as a SEAL hinges on her father’s investigation into his actions. That love propels them each forward from their stagnant existence to face life with a new determination. Their story is well-written. It is serious in tone, yet sweet and sexy. The couple has great chemistry. The plot is somewhat complex; it drags just a little in a few spots but not enough to detract from the story itself. The characters are well-developed. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Lincoln and Sofia. I rate this book 4.5 stars.
I received an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Weston Parker has written another great book and this is one you won't want to miss. Lincoln is a strong personality, a navy seal, and a man that marches to his own beat. He doesn't always play by the rules but he always does what's the right thing at the time. His heart skipped a beat the first time he met Sophia and continued to have irregular heartbeats going forward. Fate would have it that her father hated him but was also his commanding officer. Lots of turmoil, abundance of family dynamics, some danger, lots of conflicts, and emotional overload. But love wins out in the end and there's a happy ending with a few surprises. A great book with strong, well developed likable characters, for the most part. A good book that I read as an arc and voluntarily chose to review.
This is a sweet and sexy story with strong, likable characters in Lincoln and Sofia as well as the supporting characters. The author does a fantastic job building the story and delivering a realistic and emotional read. He had me glued to the pages with all the danger, suspense and mystery as well as the steamy romance. It's well written with descriptive scenes , flows fluidly and is a great read. I loved and would highly recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Wowsa this is a absolutely must read and let me tell you I absolutely love Lincoln and Sofia. He is a navy seal and takes risk when he has too but when the commander who is the strictest with protocol steps in can he keep his career as a seal or will he find out the woman he meets and has slept with is the commander's daughter destroy any chance between them and his career. This book was absolutely fantastic i haven't read anything like this book and I hope Weston will continue with the men on his team?
It could have been great because it was a great storyline but I will say it was just good. The H and h mets at her father’s retirement party. I must say I didn’t feel the connection between the two however they are drawn to each other. They begin to see each other. The father doesn’t care for The H since be believes he lacks initiative. This was even though he does his job effortlessly and brilliantly but just wasn’t pushing to get promoted. After the h father finds out they are dating his hate and vendetta get even more irrational. I was in the military so some of the military references just didn’t pan out for me. It didn’t ruin the book though. I guess my issue is that the angst just was not as dire as the build up to make it appear. I also hated the best friend Hailey. Was she really a friend? With friends like that who needs enemies? She did Not meet the H but when the h tells her her concerns Hailey’s first response is the extreme, that the H is no good and the father maybe right that the H Is dangerous. Some of the read was very slow. Like I said I didn’t feel that connection between the H and h. I got no hot and bothered feeling from the love scenes. This was just a quick, easy, cute read for me. Nothing explosive.
I had a hard time finishing this book. The hero is an arrogant, hot head. I grew tired of the “god of a man” and “Aphrodites gift”talk. Where did this come from? Some things were over emphasized for instance his “ smirk”. I’ve heard other readers talk about men who write romance. I could tell a man wrote this book. Ive avoided reading romance books by men for this reason. I gave this a chance. I won’t so that again. The relationship wasn’t well developed. I didn’t feel the connection. What woman turns down foreplay?? Sofia did several times, VERY unrealistic. I hate when the author doesn’t let you read about the action and only tell you about it after the fact. When Eden was injured. Its a military romance written by a man. Why leave out the action? I was just annoyed and very unsatisfied by this book. Sorry. I’m severely annoyed because I randomly picked the book off of Amazons Top list for my Book Club to read. This was my first Military Romance. This was my first book by this author.
Another good Weston Park read! This is a forbidden military romance that is quite enjoyable.
Lincoln is a SEAL who appears as though he has no care in the world. He moves and does most things based on his heart and gut. Others view this as someone who does not know how to follow orders, as arrogant and disrespectful.
Sofia is a medical student who has been recommended for the fast track program at college. She has decided to visit her father since he is now on a retiring SEAL. Sofia and Lincoln meet at her dad retirement party, but they have no idea how they are both connected to him. They have amazing chemistry together, enough that they no longer want to consider it a one night stand.
Will Sofia's father be the one that breaks them apart or pulls them together?
Lincoln Dodds is Navy Seal that doesn’t follow the rule of command very well. On a mission with his best friend Eden, to rescue five hostages alive, he awaits his orders from his superior. When the window opens for them to move forward and his superior doesn’t respond, Lincoln takes the initiative and saves all five hostages. Well that didn’t go as he planned. Now both of them are suspended and sent back to California.
Attending the retirement party for his nemesis, Commander Charles, he meets a gorgeous woman named Sofia. Soon after that they start spending every day together. She’s home for the summer from school, where she’s finishing her medical degree. Then the shoe drops when Lincoln finds out that she’s the daughter of the man that hates him, Commander Charles.
This is where the story gets sooo interesting. Their chemistry is crazy hot. You will love this book!
Okay "A Military Man" series is really all stand alone reads. I hadn't realized that when I started. Most series follow along with a lot of the same characters each having their stories. Well not this series. So Let Freedom Ring is truly a stand alone. Wow best book ever. I loved Lincoln and Eden (his best bud) but didn't care for Charles Cantor his superior. But Lincoln and Sofia together OMG no words. I loved when she confronted her father about Lincoln, I loved when Eden came to his office to give his statement about what actually happened, I loved that Charles actually respected Lincoln but thought he was a waste of talent LOL. This story had so many unexpected turns and twists but was oh sooooooo good. Can't wait to dive into "Maybe it's Fate".
Let Freedom Ring was a story with some suspense, danger, mystery and definitely some steam. Weston Parker has written a five star story that had me from the start. Lincoln and Sofia were some really well written characters that were easy to really fall for. A Navy Seal romance with a bad boy and the sweet young daughter of his commander. Lincoln is a Navy Seal who loves what he does for a living but sometimes his not wanting to follow orders can lead to a few unpleasant consequences. Sofia is a med student she is excited about summer a time to go home to her Navy Commander father and to hit the beach. When the two meet you can feel the instant attraction and the heat coming off the pages. This was a sweet, sexy and exciting read and I highly recommend it.
Book 2: Let Freedom Ring {A Military Man Romance Novel Book 2} 4 Stars I purchased a copy of the steamy California set novel Let Freedom Ring: A Military Man Romance Novel Book Two by Weston Parker in KU and this review was given freely. Characters that are relatable, realistic, and vulnerable At times intense with an undercurrent of corruption this is a drama-packed story of honor, love, and forgiveness. The troubled career of the maverick SEAL Lincoln and his close relationship with best friend/teammate Eden is combined with his instant attraction romance with his nemesis’ daughter, the brilliant and slightly rebellious premed student Sofia. 18+ for violence and intimate scenes.
Sophia, a medical student, can’t look away from Lincoln, a Navy SEAL with some authority issues, when he enters the venue where her father’s retirement party is being held. As the story progresses the connection deepens, differences get in the way, and surviving the battle ahead may break them. Weston Parker’s Let Freedom Ring is a stunning emotional military romance read. I would absolutely love to see Haley and Eden connect and get their own story.
Secret romance but maybe more? This storyline is fun and a quick read. They start off not knowing much about each other and then face a big obstacle as they start to develop feelings for each other.
The story is entertaining and quickly presents a well developed military community and cast of colorful and relatable characters. The different relationship and backgrounds everyone has created an enjoyable and multi faceted world where everyone has their own pursuits and obstacles. The ending was slightly predictable, but only in the HEA aspect.
Loved this tale of Lincoln, Navy Seal, and Sofia, the daughter of Lincoln's commanding officer. Lincoln was regarded as a renegade and when he met and got involved with Sofia he never realized exactly who she was. Lincoln was involved in an investigation that was pointing toward getting him a dishonorable discharge and it took a lot to clear his name. Thankfully, he was known by those who worked closely with him AND by Sofia as an honorable man and a fine leader. It all turned out well and made for a good read.
From the start to the end of this book I couldn't put it down Lincoln is a navy seal who has trouble following orders so after a mission him and his best friend Eden were suspended. Sophia is home from university where she is working hard to get her studies finished she was heading home for the holidays to spend time with her father who was retiring. Little did she know that she was going yo meet the man of her dreams but with him in the military how could it work. Highly recommend
I liked the characters. I liked that she was there for her dad. I could have seen the relationship with Lincoln going so very differently. I thought the ending was a bit rushed! That's where I got a bit lost. The words on the plane didn't match the situation for me. On the plane it sounded like he was leaving and yet when he got in the truck he was still in the military. Not sure how much time of service he had left. So the situation just confused me. I do enjoy the writing of Weston.
The story of Lincoln and Sofia, a Navy Seal and a Med Student. Weston Parker has written another hit. This book is one you dont want to put down. Standalone HEA. Right at the beginning of the book you are drawn in as there are so many little stories going on besides the romance of these two. His career, her schooling,, her relationship with her Dad and so on. You just need to read this book as it is that good.
If Weston Parker is the author, I will read it every time. The story of Sophia and Lincoln and the fate of their meeting is an emotional one. As unlikely as their meeting is, it's a coming together of two strong personalities with futures that seem far apart. They are perfect together and struggle to overcome her father's hatred of Lincoln. As much as I tried to put it down, I couldn't until I was done.
Sophia is the only daughter of a soon to be retired Navy Seal trainer. She is going to college to be a doctor. Coming home for the summer to take care of her dad she meets Lincoln at the retirement party. Not wanting it to end before it starts she doesn't tell him who her dad is. Lincoln is the bad boy who doesnt wait for directions. He is on suspension. They seem to be just what eachother needs.
When you don't want to grow up but suddenly discover that you have, your next move is very important. Decisions are coming at you at lightening speed and your need to protect what is yours drives your every move you know life will never be the same. This misunderstood bad boy will steal your heart and his strong heroine will have you cheering for their survival. Enjoy this book, it is a great quick read.
First read by this author. I’m ashamed to say, I never even thought of reading a romance novel by a male author. It sounds sexist and I’m sorry, but this book completely changed that opinion!!!!!! I loved this story. It wasn’t overly sappy, falling head over heels stupid. And it was 🔥 🔥! Which is my fave! 😍😉 I wish their was an extended epilogue or something that I can continue to read about this couple! Can’t wait to read more books!!!
Really touching story of two characters who find the journey into true love might be a little rocky but when you find your other half, it is worth the bumps. Only one thing bothered me about this tale. Why was the Lieutenant so determined to ruin Lincoln and Eden... actually, come to think of it, why was Charles so set on believing the worst? (shrugging it off) The story had a few loose ends, but overall it was a satisfying romance.
Let Freedom Ring is such an awesome book. The characters grabbed me right from the beginning and they never let me down. Linc is a strong yet vulnerable man who loves his work as a Navy Seal. Sophia is also a strong person in her own right. I loved the drama, humor and the intimacy was thru the roof. Looking forward to reading another of Weston Parker's stories soon, I have never been disappointed.
Sofia was just trying to get thru school and went home for her dad's retirement Lincoln went to her dad's retirement party He fell in love when He seen her She fell in love They were seeing each other with out her father knowing He had been suspended from missions Her father found out did what he could to break them up But in the end they all got their happy ever after and he now works for her dad
Sofia is m th kind of heroin. She is bold, mischievous, and goes after what she wants. Who knew the guy she goes home with from the party was her father's nemesis. Lincoln dislikes her father and thinks to call it off after their night together, but they are drawn to each other. When her father finds out about them he sends Lincoln away and leaves Sofia wondering where he is. After her father finds out the truth about what really happened he has a change of heart.
Oh man, Lincoln Dobbs is hot and sweet and funny. I love his personality and attitude. Sofia is awesome, I love that she has that rebellious streak in her, I love that she can stand up for herself and has a good heart. These two together are amazing. I was addicted to this book from the beginning. The chemistry of these two is hot and their personalities are fun.
