Vaeda. The girl that I hate. The girl that I can’t stop thinking about. The girl that I bully, tease, taunt, and push away, until the point of no return. She’s annoying, stubborn, and… Everything that I’m attracted to.
Greyson. The boy that I hate. The boy that can’t commit to save his life. The boy that pushes me so far, that nothin’ will ever be the same again. He’s a cocky football star that makes the bile rise in my throat and the butterflies dance in my belly.
And that’s the thing about love. It doesn’t make sense. It never makes sense. It doesn’t have to. It’s just… There.

This was my first read by this author and she didn’t disappoint! Greyson and Vaeda’s story is an emotional roller coaster ride I loved that we got to see them in their teen years the character growth was awesome and that ending ugh I’m going to need to read the next book asap! The love hate relationship was real in this one the push and pull definitely had me up in all my feels!
I’ve read all of Alexis’ books and can’t say that this is my favorite. I was really looking forward to it, but just wasn’t into how it was written. I know it’s the characters accents but gees no Gs on the end of some words we’re driving me crazy!!!! The story to start was also a bit too slow for me. It got better as the characters became older teenagers. But I’ll wait to see how book two goes.
My mind is kinda in a weird space right now. This usually happens after I finish a book and is trying to get all my thoughts lined up correctly. I'll be honest. At first, I was very reluctant to read this but I'm happy that I did get the chance to read it. So let's get into the review. I started the book and was like damn. I was confused when I say Jenna's PoV and thought I was reading the wrong book (because it wasn't the name in the blurb) until I continued reading. I really liked how we got to read about them as they grew up! I did find myself getting excited and then had to be like "Ari relax....they aren't even teens yet." I was thrown off a little every here and there. I kept wondering if children actually spoke like that away. I know if children acted or spoke like they sometimes did, they would gave gotten their ass whooped in my country. I swear I had to remind myself they were below the age of 16 throughout the beginning of the book because I found myself cursing at some characters. The drama in the book just kept coming and coming and my emotions were just getting mixed. I got hooked on this book so fast! It definitely helped that the characters reminded me a lot of my best friend and me. I was spinning with everything that was going on. I am still soaking up everything but now I'm just sitting here like "WTF I NEED THE NEXT BOOK...NOW!" I'm wayyy too invested now. I was texting my best friend while reading and she literally yelled at me to stop reading because I was into reading "an unhealthy amount." ...I obviously didn't listen to her.

Bully romance ✔️ Enemies to lovers ✔️ Second chance romance ✔️ Small town romance ✔️
Thank you @alexis_bice_author for sending me a copy of the first book in the series! 😍 It ended on such a cliffhanger that I went and bought the second book right away 😂
This series was an emotional rollercoaster. I don’t even know where to start 😭 the first book follows Vaeda and Greyson from when they’re kids (six years old) to when they’re 19. It is extremely in depth and you get to see the bully romance aspect while they grow up. I’ve never read a book that was so detailed with ages! I think it helped show what type of love/hate relationship Vaeda and Greyson have!
Greyson made me frustrated a lot of the time. I feel like he just needed to stop being such an asshole to Vaeda. Vaeda has her share of some mistakes that cause issues in their relationship, but nothing like what Greyson does. I wanted to slap some sense into him, especially in the second book 😭
While this book has a HEA, it has a lot of ups and downs to get to that point, so know that going in. I can’t go into too much detail without spoiling things, so I’ll just say that this duet is worth the read! I loved it! ☺️
I really loved this book. Alexis Bice writes beautiful, emotional and addictive stories. I read this on Kindle Unlimited but I’ve purchased the second book in this duet because I desperately need to continue with this amazing story. My only complaint was I thought the end was slightly rushed and the fact that the letter g was left-out from the ends of words was most annoying. I must also say I’m not a fan of ‘wanna’ ‘gotta’ etc: Apart from that definitely a five star read.
This book is such a rollercoaster of emotions. Ive never read a book where its so detailed by age. Usually if there is a prologue of the couple being young it does a huge time jump.
There is times you will hate Greyson, I know I did! Vaeda was not the nicest either but thats why it was such a great hate to love story.
And that ending!! Great read! Cant wait to see what happens next!
My heart is utterly and literally on the floor with this story. Love and Hate are closer then we pretend they are. Alexis has gone and found my soft spot and with Greyson and Vaeda I’m totally hooked!
Vaeda & Greyson are not your usual romance couple. They seem extremely doomed and likely to never have their HEA. Definitely have to read both books of the duet.
If you love the enemies to lovers or forbidden love tropes you will definitely want to check this book out! I love this modern take on Romeo and Juliet. The story follows Vaeda and Greyson as they grow up and you see how much they hate each other, argue, and go out of their way to annoy one another. So when they realize they both have feelings for each other it doesn’t make sense to either of them! I enjoyed reading their relationship progress throughout the book! I will say I feel like the ending was a little rushed but the cliffhanger was great! Definitely excited to read book two!
