This was an exciting, action-packed story involving U.S, Secret Service agent, Jesse Cabot and his CDC lab assistant wife, Maggie. They are involved in a pandemic where they have actually had a vaccine that worked due to his wife's tinkering. They meet the President on Air Force one and are set on a train with a few FBI and CIA agents and 3 top scientists to solidify making the vaccine. Trains are not friendly to the Cabot's. The trip is going well at first but soon things begin to happen i.e. a bomb on the train, people having different agenda/missions. I love the backstories and twists. Terrific read!

Maggie and Jesse finds themselves racing against time trying to find a vaccine for the fast moving pandemic that is so reflective of the times. With the President's daughter who is part of the FBI and a former scientist friend of Maggie on board to help, when a bomb detonates on their train, they start second guessing who is really on their side. In this dark time, it is hard to fathom just like reality how people do not care about the pandemic spread if they feel there is personal gain.

Book 3 in the series but can be read as a stand alone. I highly recommend you read the previous two books because once you read this one, you'll want to read the others.
Suspense, twists, turns, action, mystery and intrigue fill the pages that you can't seem to stop turning making it hard to put the book down. Strong characters that add to the element of the story. If you like mysteries with great suspense, you don't want to miss out on this one.

Suspenseful and thrilling This book is filled with everything you need in a novel. The Cabots will keep you on your toes with their crime fighting, day to day life problems and laughter. A pandemic is abound and they are the only ones who have be vaccinated and must help produce a vaccine. But there are others who have more deadly plans for them. And I do mean deadly. I look forward to their new adventures.
Maggie and Jesse are back in Malady At Twilight, book three of the California Express series. Although this book is a standalone I definitely recommend you read the first two books to understand Maggie and Jesse. This book is action packed and filled with mystery, suspense, intrigue and twists that held my attention and had me on the edge of my seat. I look forward to reading the rest of this series. Malady At Twilight is the third book in the California Express series and is an entertaining read.
I really enjoyed this book about Jessie and Maggie Cabot's exploits during the time of a pandemic. The storyline is well written and engaged my interest from the start, with action, danger, deception, suspense, and intrigue.
This is my first time reading this author. I was attracted to the book due to the cover and the blurb. I’m very happy that the book itself lived up to the blurb. There is suspense with twists and turns in this fast-paced read.

This was the third book in a three book series. I gave them all three stars as they do have some entertainment value. However there were lots of errors in all three.
**this is book 3, can be read as stand alone but having read priors will help understanding back story.** Jessie and Maggie Cabot are back again. Jessie is an agent of the CIA. Maggie is his wife and works for the CDC. They are a married couple working together in a team mission to retrieve a new vaccine and deliver it safely to fight the Arvid17 virus pandemic. Very timely topic. Great adventure, quick easy read. I received this ebook from Rebeka Dodson and Booksprout , Thank you. This review is solely my opinion.
