So I debated reading this for a little while, as the description made me uneasy. But I really enjoy this author, so I finally went for it…and just…wow. I thought I knew gross, but I was taken to school here. So the book contains a barrage of necrophilia, absolutely sinful and ugly sexual encounters, incest, graphic violence, and is not for anyone who is not adequately prepared for it all. Looking beyond the absolute grittiness and stomach-turning situations, the story was very original and kept me guessing what would happen next between Mike and Sage, who are the main characters. The book was very well-written in its easiness to follow, the crisp and uncomfortable details, and the internal dialogue Mike has throughout his adventure here. You truly do understand his various struggles and why he chooses to make certain decisions. Again, this isn’t the easiest read, due to some of the content, but try to hang with it through the conclusion and you won’t be disappointed!

"how was she able to do it? how was Sage always able to turn me completely around on my moral stance? she was like a brainwashing witch. with every new atrocity i would make new objections, but still she always got her way and, worst of all, i always ended up enjoying it."

✦ this was wild, mad, sick and twisted, and i loved every second of it. the way everything kept escalating was just so fun to read.

✦ this had lots of graphic violence, depraved sex, necrophilia, incest, and fucked up characters who keep getting more and more fucked up the more you read.

"once you’ve had sex with the dead, nothing can ever be the same."

✦ if you're a fan of splatterpunk horror, and well written, unpredictable stories - you're probably gonna love this just as much as me.

✦ this has such an interesting premise. when i read the blurb i already had a strong feeling that i was gonna love this book tbh. i am glad it didn't disappoint.

✦ if i had a shelf for books with the most fucked up sex scenes ever, this book would be on it.

"i felt wanted again, desirable for the first time in years. her touch was electric, her soft skin my topical painkiller. but she came at such a terrible cost."

✦ this made me laugh a couple of times too. it was just so insane and absurd at times, that you couldn't help but hysterically laugh. the amount of insane quotes i marked while reading this was crazy.

✦ our main characters Mike and Sage were definitely quite the pair... you can't help but feel sorry for Mike at times, even if he's a little bit of a moron, who gets pulled into the most fucked up ride of his life, and goes willingly, essentially just because Sage is hot as fuck. the way Mike became absolutely obsessed with her and would have done almost anything to keep her... horny men are so easy lmao.

"despite my catholic upbringing, i'd never been a religious man; but this was sin, pure and simple. this was some Jeffrey Dahmer shit right here. maybe it was time to end this thing with Sage. hell, i was still trying to get past the fact that she’d masturbated with a human jawbone while sucking my dick. the power of her exceptional hotness only went so far, right? what was the limit with this girl? how deep into depravity would she take me before my mind snapped like a breadstick?"

✦ everything was told from Mike's point of view and you get to witness all of his internal thoughts and struggles, which were very interesting to read about.

"when i closed my eyes during these panic attacks, bloody bodies flashed across the backs of my eyelids like a rapid-edit scary movie — graying vaginal meat and slack mouths and cum-spattered torsos writhing across the lobes of my brain. my debauchery was a gremlin gnawing at my sanity, torturing me with Dostoyevsky-like guilt. so i pushed back at it, creating excuses, convincing myself what I’d done was acceptable. they were already dead. it’s not rape if it’s a dead body. and it’s not like i killed them. i really needed this money. i had to do it, so i might as well have enjoyed it. they were so pretty. i couldn’t help myself. maybe if Rachel had been fucking me these last few years i wouldn’t have grown sexually frustrated enough to do all these things. it’s not my fault."

✦ i really liked the way everything was tied up too. it honestly could have gone a lot of different ways, but i was definitely satisfied with this conclusion. gotta check out more of this author's work asap!

Triana is quickly becoming one of my favorite new authors; Toxic Love is my third book of his I have read and once again, he nailed it. Edward Lee's cover blurb, "Jesus! And I thought I was sick," fits as this is one mean sick read. Perhaps what I like best about Triana is the dark humor which infests his prose, leaving me with a smile despite the appalling situations he depicts. Toxic Love should not work, the entire premise is too bizarre, but yet Triana manages to pull it off beautifully.

Our main protagonist, Mike Ashbrook, has come down in life. Formally married with two young daughters and working his way up the corporate ladder, he now lives in a dumpy apartment, drinking too much, and earns his daily bread by cleaning up dead bodies. The company he now works for basically cleans up murder/death scenes after the cops are done. Someone has to do it and Mike finds it pays pretty well even if the hours are a little strange being basically on call. Unfortunately for Mike, good assistants are hard to keep as some people get a little squeamish picking brains and pieces of skull out of a wall after a shotgun blast, or moping up the nasty fluids of a cadaver that sat in a house for weeks before discovery.

One day, his boss Ryker sends him a new assistant at a clean up scene, Sage, but she is not like the other losers he is used to. In fact, she is drop dead gorgeous, maybe mid 20s (Mike is mid 40s), and seems to love the work. In fact, the work, or at least the blood, really turns her on. Sage really likes to get down and dirty, or should I say bloody, when they are working a scene. She tells Mike that she never orgasmed until blood was involved and by god does blood get her wet. Mike is first appalled, but she is just so hot and loves to fuck rolling around in blood. Well, after this teaser, I will stop with the plot to avoid spoilers, but I will say prepare your self for one nasty ride involving necrophilia, lust and hot, bloody sex.

Toxic Love is definitely not for everyone, but if you like Ed Lee's work and of course Triana in general, you will love this. While a slim volume, just creeping over novella length, Triana packs a lot of punch in it. 4.5 bloody stars, rounding up!!

Mike Ashbrook is a crime scene cleaner in New York. He's separated from his wife and two daughters. Things dramatically change when Sage Jaworzyn, a new worker, is hired. Her sexual obsession is with blood and gust. How will this professional relationship affect Mike's private life? He's getting deeper and deeper in a world of depravity and unhealthy sexual activity. Can he overcome Sage and her cousin Lester? What about the last fuck? This novel of extreme horror was an absolute page turner and very positive surprise. All the details are well researched, the characters well carved and you stand literally by Mike's side. Be warned, some scenes are really gross (the more blood, gore and feces the hornier Sage gets) but to the point. Excellent extreme horror if there ever was one. Highly recommended!

This was an excellent read, I really liked it, and I'd have read it in one sitting if I wasn't so busy.

Mike is a middle-aged crime scene cleaner. His new co-worker is a beautiful young woman who finds blood erotically stimulating. Their joint work leads to increasingly perverted and dangerous situations.

There's various aspects to this story and a recurring theme of sexual deviancy, such as necrophilia.

Extreme horror fans are going to love this.

Mike is a crime scene cleaner. After the police get done it is his job to clean up the blood and gore left over from human atrocities. Tonight he is working with the beautiful Sage who has managed to last more than a week. Mike will find out quickly Sage has a unique fetish that involves the unthinkable. Mike tries to resist, but he can't ignore Sage's siren call. Nothing is taboo in this book. There is plenty of blood and dead bodies to go around. Come take a ride down this rabbit hole of madness if you dare.

This extreme horror story leaves nothing uncovered, literally.  Mike is a crime scene cleaner who is partnered with a very attractive young lady who happens to be turned on by blood, gore and corpses.  At first disgusted, Mike begins to change his mind about joining his new partner in her deviant sexual practices.  Corpses, innards and all types of body parts are splattered through in rapture.  Mike has his moments of regret, but that doesn't stop him from getting deeper into a bucket full of trouble.  Where will a man with a nagging conscience and a deep devotion for his family end up?  The twists in this riveting story kept me guessing until the end.

People do crazy things when they’re horny. And yes, the thought of getting a call for another secret cleanup of a dead stripper or teenage drug dealer did get my dick hard even without the pill. But I would okay. I had control of myself now, right?

First comes love then comes a crime scene

This book is fast paced and captures you from those first page. This book is about Michael Ashbrook who is spending his latter years of his life by himself, after being married and having two kids. Down on his luck he decided to try for a job as a crime scene cleaner. He seems to have adjusted to his career change. Only issue no one stays longer than a week. Insert a beautiful bombshell but the same of Sage. They’re a perfect pair for this kind of work almost too perfect.

Sage a mysterious woman that comes from money that has some strange kinks and fetishes of her own. She has a way of making those around her bend to her will and what we see in this story Michael is no different. What blossoms into a promising but strange work relationship turns into a nightmare that only Kristopher Triana can write.

This book explores the darker side of fetishes , blood and just gore. There are some scenes in this book that are not recommended if you have a weak stomach. I have read a lot of gruesome scenes in this book to last me a lifetime. This book talks about it all and I have to admit I enjoyed reading this book. Definitely give this book a read, so far I have enjoyed every book I read by this author.

This story can be best described as full-on extreme hardcore horror.

Lots of blood, gore, depraved sex, necrophilia, killings and a sprinkling of gangsters, all wrapped up with lots of snappy, and often humorous, clever dialogue and a uniquely intriguing storyline that, despite the often powerful deliberately disturbing imagery, makes the whole experience a positive and worthwhile visit into the world of pure adult escapism.

Meet disillusioned, middle-aged, and recently separated Mike. He works for the city authorities, clearing up all manner of toxic human waste products from particularly messy, gruesome and grisly crime scenes. Then, one day, young, attractive Sage just walks into his life, his new work colleague - things will definitely never ever be the same again!

A great, well told story, which contains lots of extremely graphic adult material.

Definitely not for the easily offended.

Rating: 3.8 fully bleached and beautifully cleaned bright stars.

No guts, no glory hole.

This one is an extremely brutal and super inappropriately funny, blood and gore soaked fuckfest. There is so very much “wrong” with this one. I wonder what kind of a sicko I must be to have laughed at all the very disgusting and retch inducing action. I think I may be riding to hell in a blanket of undigested refried beans.

"She was intoxicating and I was drunk on her sweet poison, a raccoon slurping up anti-freeze, enjoying the flavor while the danger increased with every lick."

This was so naughty. lol Toxic Love was my second book of Triana's after Full Brutal and I gotta say, this author is bananas I love it. His books are just so freakin' entertaining! He ignites such a sinister energy within you, one that you wanna toss around like a slinky toy and play with. Not gonna lie, I would hang out with Sage for a weekend to see what kind of debauchery would ensue. C'mon Sage, let's go "paint the town red" *devious grin* We'll christen that phrase to dual meaning. You may be of non compos mentis sort, but so am I, and you are a sexy firecracker. Let's play. Maybe we'll even pick up Kim from Full Brutal on the way to join us. Woooo!

Second time reading it. This was one of the books I struggled with the first time as I had the wrong idea what the story was going to be about and it took me out of the story when those expectations wasn't met. However I liked it a lot more the second time. 3.5 stars. Dark and disturbing yet a fun read.

The Jawbone

That was an insane trip to go on, with Mr Triana delivering again when it comes to his unflinching splatter style. I didn’t put this book down, except once to pee, and finished it in one session. I’ve bought all of Mr Triana’s books, everything I’ve read by him has been an instant classic. 5/5 Skulls.

As I continue to work my way through Triana 's books, I have yet to come across a bad one. Toxic Love is a wild and twisted story about a man getting pulled into the twisted web of a woman with quite an odd sexual fetish. This story is quite the downward spiral that doesn't hold back.

WOW, this was one of the most extreme and deprived books I’ve ever read…But it was also one of the best I’ve ever read.

Be warned this book is not for the faint of heart or squeamish, there is tons of blood, guts and perversion, so much so you might start to question your own depravity just for reading it.

In saying that there is more to this book then gore and erotica, the story and characters are exceptionally well done, there is also suspense, humour and heart, and you really feel for Mike the main character, who, despite trying to do the right thing for his family, gets himself deeper and deeper into a mess. It feels a bit like the TV show Breaking Bad in that respect.

So if you liked such books as Dead Inside by Chandler Morrison and Woom by Duncan Ralston then I Highly Recommended this, you will love it.

A No Spoiler Review

Toxic Love

Warning Hazardous Material

Toxic Love is a darkly comedic and erotic nightmare. Mike is down and out. Divorced, drunk, and tv dinners. Feeling dead inside does have its advantages. Like when it comes to cleaning up crime scenes. Meeting a girl nearly half his age and "kinky" will make Mike realize he is more alive than ever.

Like erotica? Like it hot and heavy? Do you mind a corpse here or there? Then do I have the book for you! As always Triana's ability to craft insanity is unparalleled and right on the threshold of a padded cell. You will find yourself disgusted. You will also find yourself unable to look away.

Toxic Love is as much of a barn burner as it is a page turner. I was unable to put it down and loved every sticky moment of it. As the stakes rise and the insanity boils you'll find yourself unable to get out of the way.

Man o man, another crazy story that you just can't put down (but I forced myself not to read it in one day and enjoy). This is a crazy ass story about Mike, crime scene cleaner, meeting the woman who would change his life completely. Sage was rich but wanted the job for the sexual pleasure of it. Our friend Sage, you see, gets turned on by blood, guts and gore. At first I'm like, alright girl, I get it, a little blood and drama to get the juices flowing, but then she starts wanting to roll around in the stuff. Well, she seduces poor old, weak Mike and gets him to start having sex with her at these crime scenes. Well, these dumbasses get caught and fired. Mike has kids and an ex wife that he has to support so he kinda freaks until Sage got him into the Mob business, cleaning up their scenes for them. Then she gets overly aggressive with the gore situation that she starts involving dead bodies. Mike tries to take the high road and say no, but that girl had some powers over him and he was an idiot. I don't want to spoil the rest of the book but let me tell you, it gets even more fucked up and I loved it. I'm so excited to see what's next!

Great read!!! Loved the ending! Bout as happy of a ending that your gonna get out of Splatterpunk.

I really enjoyed this book! Great story even with all the gross and nasty! But of course for me, the nastier the better. Couple of the best lines in the book for me anyway are:

"She's hotter than a stick of butter up the ass of a turkey."

"Fear is only part of horror. Horror comes with fear, but is thickened by revulsion and dread. Horror is a sick, hollow feeling that writhes in your guts, making your limbs shiver and your mind go hot and scrambled. You lose your ability to speak or even scream, and your heart feels on the verge of implosion while everything else seems to go too fast to process."

I don't think I have ever read a better description for Horror!! I have read all kinds of horror novels. From true crime to the most extreme Splatterpunk horror you can find. Nothing really scares me. Ever!! Everybody has their own threshold for what scares them. But that little paragraph best describes for me what horror is.

Happy Reading and Splatter On.....

Down to get dirty?

In this book we follow an older man going day to day with his job, he works for a company as a clean up crew for crime scenes. It’s definitely not glorious work, but it keeps him drunk and his apartment bill paid. As he keeps going through the days after being divorced and separated from his kids, his lust for life has gone to waste. Until one day his boss informs him of their latest hire, a young woman named Sage. Little does he know that her lust for life comes at the cost of a little blood ( not really a little).

This was such a phenomenal read. Between the beautiful character development, to the twists in the book, I genuinely loved every second. Triana is such a talented author.

Blood, Death & Sex! I can always count on Triana for a horrifically good time. This was a crazy ride. From front to back it didn’t let up. I don’t know what it says about me that I loved this book as much as I did but give me more of this! TOXIC LOVE is as erotic as it is disturbing and will have you wondering what the hell you’ve gotten yourself into when you picked it up.

I consumed this in 24hrs, whenever I could pick it back up again. If you love Triana and you haven’t read this one yet, I implore you to. Mad at myself for letting this sit on my shelf as long as it did.

Don’t even know how to say anything about this book. My jaw was on the floor for most of it. A grisly, wild ride into the depths of several people you don’t want to know about but keep reading to find out. If you got an iron stomach read it and enjoy the ride excellent story and progression. Excellent characterization. Excellent descriptors that make you imagination go wild with disgust. Get it, read it. Discover the toxic love you never realized you needed.
