Pudge Ate a Prophet: A Big Fish Tale

Rate this book
Pudge knows that he is big . . . very big. And it isn't until Jonah drops into Pudge's part of the ocean that Pudge understands that God's plans for him are just as big and unique as he is.

I picked up this book at the Iowa Reading Conference. I had lunch with one of the authors, Damon Taylor, and couldn’t resist picking this up for the new grandbaby.

On the front of this book in the “God Can Use Me” series, it is stated that this is “a big fish tale”. This sweet and simple retelling of Jonah and the whale helps children understand and celebrate their own uniqueness. Pudge is a fish who is too big to play finball, go in small places or be inconspicuous. When Pudge runs away, he discovers that God has an important job for him, just the size he is. Without Pudge, Jonah would never be able to deliver God’s message to Nineveh and save it.
