Coach said no distractions this season No drinking No Girls I've already broken one rule-- and I'm working on the second
Mackenzie
My therapist said no dating this year No relationships No sex I'm getting better at following the rules-- but the new quarterback is making it so hard to be good.
Judah is a trying to be a different man, one that is focused on his grades and determined to work hard on the football field, with the hope that it will help him accomplish his dream. He has also spent the last few months trying to rid his heart and mind of the girl he lost, she belongs to another now, and he is trying hard to accept it... it's a day by day thing. With his grades in mind, he has even taken on the help of a tutor, hoping she can help him clean up the mess he made the previous year, and get his grade point average more to a more respectable level... what he doesn't expect is to fall for his tutor.
He wasn't looking for love or any unnecessary distractions, but then Mackenzie came along and he couldn't just ignore what he felt for her. But is opening his heart to love again worth the risk?
Between the pages of this expertly crafted love story you will meet two damaged souls who are trying their best to piece their lives back together. Neither of them are looking for love, knowing it's a distraction they don't need, but their hearts push them together anyway... knowing it's exactly what they need. My heart broke for these two, they had so much hurt living inside of them, but they were determined to not let it defeat them, taking their healing one day at a time, and focusing on what was important to them. But somewhere along the way you see them start to open up to one another on a different level, there is an unspoken understanding between them, and also a lot of unexpected chemistry. I loved every moment of this story it came rich with emotion, drama, love, friendship, and a few surprises too... every page delighted, touched my heart and left me smiling! Highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
Not having read the previous books in the Cherry Grove Series, I was worried I would be a bit lost in this story. I was not lost, this book made you feel as though you have read all of them. There are no unanswered questions or wondering about certain characters. This particular book is a MUST READ. Torn was so amazing!!! You will absolutely fall in love with these characters. Judah, Mack, Zander and even Perry!! If you like a college romance, emotional tension, a scary, dominating ex and a heroic new man to come to the rescue then plan on reading this. Judah is a love scorn college football player who has sworn off girls. Learned a valuable lesson about playing the field, and has decided to concentrate on school and his team. Mackenzie is a broken young woman, fresh out of an extremely abusive and controlling relationship. These two come together as any jock and nerdy girl would, tutoring sessions. The story that unfolded was addicting, emotional, frustrating and amazing. It had everything for me. Judah was so protective of Mackenzie and she was so beautifully broken. What a perfect pair. I cannot wait to see what happens next with this group of characters. I loved it!
I haven't read the previous books in the Cherry Grove Series so I was worried about not being able to fully get into this one. THERE WAS NO REASON TO WORRY! This book includes everything you need to understand the characters and why they are the way they are. It can definitely be read as a stand alone. That being said, I DEFINITELY want to read the others!!! Judah and Mackenzie both have so much to overcome in order to find love. Mackenzie was in an extremely abusive, controlling and unhealthy relationship. Judah went from being "in love" to being the school player. Will these two be able to figure out how to work through this together to make a go of it? The way all the characters in this book are written you really get to know them. You feel for Mackenzie. You want to make sure Judah can protect her and love her right. You want to be best friends with Zander and have a brother like Perry. I can't wait to read the rest of this series and find out where Cole Lepley takes these characters and their stories!
This was a great book. Lots of emotions went on throughout this book. McKenzie or Mack for short, had a rough year last year when she was in a relationship with Sean. She switched school and is in therapy to work on herself. She has a great friend Zander who’s timing isn’t the best but you can look pass it to see the humor. Judah also had a rough year last year by losing his long love, Elliot or Elle for short. They had a relationship that was open but Judah wanted it to be just them but she found someone else that made her heart sing and Judah lost it, but wants to make this year better. He got a tutor and it’s Mack. They work through to become friends but Judah is starting to have feelings and with Mack’s past he is afraid he’ll ruin everything. There’s a lot of back and fourth in this book. Both made mistakes but are working through them. When Judah team plays Yale everything Judah knows comes head first to him and Mack. Secrets can’t be kept for long.
It's no secret that I love college romances, and I especially love them from authors that are new to me. This book had absolutely everything: amazing characters, emotion galore, swoony and sexy moments, and if course a HEA that brought the biggest smile to my face!
I binge read the first two books in the series and I honestly, I didn't care for Judah at all, but out author turned him around and now he's my new favorite in this series. And Mackenzie is one of the strongest & bravest heroines I've ever read. Both of these characters are hiding so much pain, but within each other they find an unexpected friendship that turns into a beautiful love.
This is definitely an author to watch out for!! I definitely recommend this book!!😊
**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**
Can I just say that Cole has done it again! She has written a story like no other when it comes to sports romance. She adds just enough angst to the story that before you know it you are on a roller coaster of a ride.
I loved Judah and Mackenzie's story. Mackenzie held her own and she was able to get through her trials she was going through. The same with Judah as he held his own while navigating through his stuff.
I could tell you the story but it would not do it any justice because you have to read Cole's words in order to enjoy them. So go on ahead and one click this series and enjoy an amazing ride!
I CANNOT get enough of this series by the super talented Cole Lepley. Torn is Judah & Mackenzie's story and it's an emotional doozie. They both have demons to battle before they can really make a go of it, and with those demons comes mistakes made which are realistic in my eyes. I legit felt like I was along for the ride because this author transports the reader into her world seamlessly. There are quite a bit of the f-bomb worthy twists that kept me on the edge as I became emotional & anxious. Not to mention there's super sexiness in the pages as well. It's hard for me to write this since I don't want to give anything away so I'm coming off cryptic, so just hit those one click buttons to experience all the chaos for yourselves! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
This is the first time I have read anything from this author, and this was an enjoyable read, that kept me entertained. This is the third book in the Cherry Grove Series, and the story of Judah, and Mackenzie. When Judah sets out to put his life on the strait, and narrow, he ends turning to Mackenzie for tutoring help. This was an engaging story, the characters have great chemistry, and I loved reading their journey. This was emotional, raw, intense, steamy, and dramatic.
Great characters that will keep your interest extremely well. I'm not going to go into detail, no spoilers, just read the book if you are even mildly intrigued by the blurb. You'll thank me later!
The chemistry, sweetness, and twists in plot kept things interesting. Add in drama and passion and you have a good read.

This is the 3rd book in cherry grove series! This is Judah’s book. Judah & mackenzie have a lot of demons in their closets and they are two broken people but can two broken people fix each other? Can’t wait to read more
I love these college sports romances and this one captivated me. The chemistry between the characters is electric. The fact that they both have their struggles makes this story even more "real". I loved it.
She made Judah and Mackenzie come to life and leap off the page. The issues Mackenzie faced were something I don’t wish on anyone, but I’m glad to see she came through it. I couldn’t put this book down, will read it again in the future.
I freaking loved this book and loved no matter her past he was always there for her. I love she had three main people in her life who would do anything for her. The love these two have makes me want to find love like it.
This book gave me She's all that vibes but with more depth to it. Judah may be the star football player but it's more then that.. He has a heart and its broken.. He's hurting and meeting Mackenzie makes him realize how much he needs to heal from that. He needs to focus on football and his future. Mackenzie, on the other hand, has been thru hell. She doesn't want to date or notice boys. She wants her life to stay as is. Her past comes back to bite her and she needs all the strength she has to make it thru again. Having Judah, her brother Perry and her bestie Zander around makes things better but there's still fear. Both of these characters are great together but they still have their issues they need to overcome. I enjoyed this book and the characters in it!
Whoa. What a book! So many twists and turns. It's hot. It's sexy. It's scary af and I loved it. This was a rush of a book. Exciting and entertaining. Judah and Mack's story is one you won't want to miss. I dont want to post a spoiler review, so I wont say much at all. Its just an amazing book. Young love gone wrong. Young love gone right and family that isn't always blood is just as good as the real deal. 5/5
Wow, this book had me feeling some type of way. My emotions were on a roller coaster ride from beginning to end. Although this was my first book by this author it definitely won’t be my last. The characters are amazing and the story line is relatable. I throughly enjoyed every moment of this book. Fantastic read and highly recommended.
Judah knew the chances he needed to take and the changes to make he truly had to make this work. Mackenzie knew he was doing it again for some reason he enjoyed watching her. Okay honestly she'd been kind of looking forward to the end but now they wanted to add more days and with no other choice but to suck it up she grudging promised to be there next week. Yes she knew about some stupid bet but apparently Judah wanted to set the record straight and clearly pointed up they were betting on him losing. But for some asinine reason Mackenzie thought she'd just push me to the side however that's not happening. Yeah one moment I'm telling him to take a hike and the next were locking lips and only stopped when someone intruded on our private time. Watching him out there on the field had my poor stomach doing flips especially when I know that jerk was out there I'm here to support Judah. Even when he shows his face trying to insinuate things that aren't true anymore just to make himself look bigger in front of someone like Judah. Nevertheless in the end I'm the one in hot pursuit of him and I'm willing to admit my true feelings and go from there. Nothing could ever prepared me for this moment and there is no comparing apples to oranges. Mackenzie was sick and tired of him and his psychotic games she just wanted him to find the nearest cliff and well.. And now I'm having to explain the whole sickening karfaffle to Jonah hoping he won't leave me or lose him mind and try and try and go after him. Jonah seriously couldn't understand why she had such a tarnished view of herself not once did Mackenzie deserve the things that nut job had clearly did to her. For every step forward they seem to take just as many backwards. Jonah didn't know how many ways to say how he felt and maybe just maybe she'd finally believe in them. Zander proved once and for all just how big of a goofball he was when he tried to make a bid at the auction. Mackenzie hadn't wanted to be separated from Jonah during the up coming break so she finally invited him to her family home. She was still holding on to that special item dumb dumb wanted back and yeah she knew this was a big mistake.

This is my first time reading a Cole Leplay book I was attracted by the blurb, I love sport college romances and I didn’t even know it was a series but you can read it as a stand-alone. Judah and Mackenzie where really complicated characters, never thought their story would developed that way it did.
Both main characters were burned in the past by love, neither making the best choices in the matter. But once they find each other everything begins to change, she is feisty and very protective of her self because she doesn’t want to be hurt again. He falls hard but with Mack he feels something stronger but things don’t go so easy.
I like the characters even if sometimes I wanted to throttle them, I know that traumas are not easy to get over and sometimes you can get stubborn on not letting things go but I felt Mack didn’t do what she really needed to do to get over what she went through like she wasn’t taking it seriously and that is one thing that I hated because no matter how much another person loves you you cannot go into a relationship if you don’t work for yourself first, that is one thing I didn’t like about her.
Also Judah’s so called “friends” were not his friends at all!! they went and did things I was not ok with, good thing Judah did not let them get to him to much.
Torn shouldn't be my favourite book of the series because lets be fair when we were introduced to Judah in the first book in the series Tragic he was a complete dickhead! And I didn't think there was anyway that he could justify a book of his own. But boy was I wrong and hats of to Cole Lepley for writing Judah's story and making it such an epic book one that is securely on my fav bookshelf!
Of cause for Torn to be such a must read the female lead needed to be something special and Mackenzie sure is that.
This is a story of ensuring that your past doesn't define who you become. For not letting the past rob you of your future, for being brave enough to make a stand and fight for what you want and with whom you want. Mackenzie's past so nearly ruins her future, for Judah he is realising where his future now lies he just has convince Mackenzie he is worth the fight while helping her fight her demons and believe in him.
This story has some real grit to it and the storyline is emotional in places so don't expect an easy ride with Mac and Judah's story — but be prepared to blown away by a brilliantly written book!
JUDAAAAAAAAAH! 😍😍😍 Since meeting him first in the first book, I am intrigued by him. He is so miserable when Elliot leaves him, it makes me wonder: what is his real self? And I am very pleased to see him getting his HEA here.
This story itself is heavier than the other two. It breaks my heart, reading Mackenzie's story.
Fortunately, Judah is really sweet and patient when it comes to Mackenzie. He shows her that his intention is pure and he really does it because he cares. I am also happy for Mackenzie to finally able to find someone who really loves her and takes care of her.
* I received an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion
This was such a riveting story from start to finish. The interactions between Judah and Mackenzie were amazing as we see the growth of the attraction and love between them as the story progresses. They both have issues from their past that they need to deal with, and this story captures the angst and decisions they must make to get to a place where they can be happy. This novel also touches on the relationships they have with friends, teammates and families - both good and bad. This story will definitely keep you entertained and should be added to everyone’s library.
I received a free advanced copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a fair and honest review.
Judah and Mackenzie have a lots of issues to work out. They are both struggling to heal themselves. But together, will they make that impossible? Or is that exactly what is needed to give them both a chance to make good?
Given two rules to follow by his Coach, the quarterback, Judah, has already broken one and is working on the second of them. Mackenzie has two as well from her therapist, but Judah will make sure she breaks her rules as soon as he has finished with his! But when they finally turn to each other, their strong attraction kicks in and each wants to make the other happy. Is this the start of the healing they are looking for?
This is the 3rd book in this series and is Judah and Mackenzie’s story. These two both have demons and need to overcome them Judah is the quarterback and his coach has given him two rules to follow, and with already breaking one he is on a mission to break number two. Mackenzie also has two rules to follow from her therapist, but will Judah help to break hers as well? I loved how their relationship grew and developed throughout. This is a well written story which is filled with angst, emotion, heartbreak, which is enjoyable and with love. I look forward to reading more from this author and I highly recommend this for all sport lovers.
I have to say this book for sure kept you wanting to read. Tough stops in the book to read but its like the Author really got into how some people feel when they are trapped in a relationship and aren't really sure how to get out, when they reach a certain part. The struggles both character had in this book and they way their friends and family where in the picture really gave you the idea of how it would really go down. So very sad places, romance and chemistry was certainly there but how to get over the humps and hurdles was want kept you reading right to the end, and then I wanted more of the story with the mail characters. Love it.
Judah and Mack. The push and pull between these two had my eyes glued to the screen of my e-reader. When I started this book I hadn't been up to date with the series (as in I hadn't read any of it.) But it looked good and I figured why not. So I figured I would be lost as the story moved forward and was surprised how I was able to go with the flow of it. Both Mack and Judah needed to focus on their own personal lives. But the chemistry between the two makes staying friends harder and harder as the story progresses. They are both broken and bit by bit they help each other piece themselves back together.
Mackenzie and Judah are both coming back from events that have derailed them. Mackenzie has transferred to Cornell where she is the tutor to QB Judah. Mack has been through some awful things and the effects linger as the issue remains. These two dance back and forth. Never full escaping their pasts to have a start. There is drama, angst, misunderstanding and great friends. This story seemed a bit disjointed at times with so much going on. I did like the dual POV. I am thinking there will be more with this couple? I am volunteering to leave a review for this book
We first met Judah in the first book of the series. There we learnt of his relationship with - . Now, he's back at school and things start to spice up with Mackenzie.
Both have some baggage they bring to their relationship.
The writing is great, with a fluid writing style, intriguing characters, and an interesting storyline.
This is a new adult romance with plenty to love.
Unfortunately for me, I just got bored. I think I wasn't in the mood for it.
I will probably try it again at some point and will update this if I do.
Torn: A College Sports Romance is book 3 in the Cherry Grove Series by Cole Lepley. I really enjoyed reading this book. When Judah and Mackenzie first meet, Judah was mad because Torn: A College Sports Romance is book 3 in the Cherry Grove Series by Cole Lepley. I really enjoyed reading this book. When Judah and Mackenzie first meet, Judah was mad because Mackenzies car was parked in his normal spot and she didn't care and gave him crap right back. The characters were great and i enjoyed the story line.
Torn is the third book in the Cherry Grove series and the first book by this author that I have read. I loved reading following Judah and Mackenzie's story. I found them to be very human characters who are trying to overcome their past to improve their future. I loved the interaction between them to be sometimes humorous as well as serious. I look forward to reading more from this series and this author.
