I am rounding up my rating. 31/5 stars. Fun premise. Great characters although the dialog threw me off a tad bit. Lexi and Clint's mom spoke to Clint as if he were only a child instead of a grown man and there was very little romance but all in all it was an enjoyable book. I want to read the other books in the series. Lexi's friends sound as if they have interesting stories to tell as well.
This is a story of faith, hope, and heart! Lexie Parker is ready to leave the big city and settle close to home to work as an occupational therapist. She bumps into the family of her patient that she lost. Levi Rawlins had too many concussions from rodeo bull riding and his passing over two years ago still weighs heavy on her heart. Now Levi’s son, Clint has had a severe brain injury due to bull riding, and his mom has begged Lexi to come and work with him. Clint has lost 2 years of his memories and can’t walk or feed himself. The Dr is sure it is temporary, but can Lexi convince Clint of that? That it isn’t a terminal injury like his dad’s?
This story illustrates the dangers of rodeo injuries and the grit it takes to fight back to “normal.” Shannon Taylor Vannatter has made these characters believable and oh so likable! Looking forward to more books by her!
Wow, great book... Lots of powerful characters that displays Love, Support, and compassionate... Excellent dramatic writing and gracious storyline... Highly recommended
A beautiful story of hope, healing, and love. “Maybe she’d come down with the flu. That way she’d have to miss the wedding. Even though she wanted to witness the beginning of Audrey’s well-deserved happily-ever-after, she didn’t need to see Clint again. Ever. Only thing – it wasn’t flu season.”
