About the author
Jesper Ersgård
38 books53 followersJesper grew up in a family of filmmakers, and his desire to write stories naturally drew him to screenwriting. Two of his screenplays made it into Hollywood movies starring, among others, Rob Lowe and James Belushi.
Always wanting to write novels and craving the autonomy that would give, he embarked on the long and lonely road of writing his first novel Out Came the Wolves, which was followed by Shadow of the Dead and Dance With the Devil.
In 2016 Jesper started writing audiobooks for Storytel, a new way of telling stories that suited him perfectly. With his brother Joakim, he wrote Black Star, a sci-fi trilogy, followed by the time travel thriller 1986 and the adventure of Sky&Fall, also trilogies.
His most recent book is Elddopet, in collaboration with his brother Patrik Ersgård.
Jesper lives in Stockholm, Sweden, with his wife and two children.

Sista säsongen är minst lika spännande som de föregående. Men det blir till att tänka till lite extra när vi kommer in på kvantfysik och relativitetsteorier. Det kan kännas som att slutet är lite "määhh, slutar det bara så här?" Men det är det ultimata slutet, det är ingen romantisk feelgood där alla får får varandra och lever lyckliga i alla sina dagar.
I alla fall inte här och nu.

Pohdin koko sarjan arvosanaa: neljä vai viisi tähteä? Toisaalta rakastan aikamatkustustarinoita ja outouksia, ja tämä oli ihanan hämmentävä, välillä hauskakin. Neljä tähteä toistaiseksi, mutta jos jää aiheuttamaan ajatuksia pitkäksi aikaa, nostan viiteen.

Tüütas peaosaloste pidev teadmatua ja lootusetus ära aga lõpuks tuli autor selleat ikkagi auga välja. Palju võimalusi inimese olemuse puudujääkide arutamiseks. Kahjuks ka palju lahtisi käsitlemata otsi. Tuleb ikkagi au anda sellise segaduse väljamõtlemise eest.

Fantastische reeks, geluisterd als audiobook. Beetje pseudo apocalyptisch, een mix van the Matrix en Doctor Who met een vleugje singularity. Einde was wel wat... Underwhelming. Maar absoluut de moeite waard! Zeer spannend!

Hela bokserien var väldigt spännande. Vissa smådetaljer som störde mig under tiden men i sin helhet var det en bra och kul bokserie.

I would never have thought that I would be interested in Swedish science fiction. But the success of Nordic detective novels, and especially thrillers, has sucked everyone else along in its wake. And so, for the third successive season Jesper Ersgård delight me listening with his "1986".
But I was somehow embarrassed that sometimes the characters are stupid, hysterical, and swearing and killing… Who will allow you, such an inharmonious and unbalanced person, to walk along different branches of reality, and even change something there? And then I thought, why do I think that the characters find themselves in the new world of 4D Plus, and what if we assume that these spaces are 4D Minus? And then everything worked out. Yeah, this is the same wheel of Samsara, only enhanced by AI. Truly, you really want to change these type of things.
One instance in particular that interests me is when the author insists that his characters make their own moral choices. Elias Werner faces a choice: to save one loved one or all of humanity. The death of his parents justifies by the need to save the majority. It is a conflict of ethics of the old times (the end justifies the means) and of the new times (unacceptable acts can never be committed under any conditions).
What did the hero choose? Read, or rather listen (there is only an audio version of the book). There’s still a lot of interesting stuff.
