A very male fantasy in which a Japanese salaryman named Zenjiro is pulled through a portal by a large-breasted queen who proposes that he ditch his breastless real-world rat race, marry her large breasts, and become her kept man and consort in a no-tech world of magic and large breasts. It's a no-brainer decision.
Yes, there may be a . . . .smidge . . . of fan service.
It's pretty stupid set-up, sure, but it really appeals to my memory of being the kept man of a large-breasted woman back in the '90s. (Were you wondering how I had time to write those #TBT reviews I've been posting?) Good times. (Hi, honey!)
But halfway through the book it starts being a little tribute to A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court as Zenjiro's knowledge of the maths (!) and technology starts to play into the court intrigue swirling around the first female leader in a patriarchal world.
More fun than I would have expected from the manga adaptation of a Japanese light novel, I've placed holds on the next three volumes at the library.
I knew what I was getting into when I started reading this manga. It is defiantly something I normally don't read and I probably won't read the other volumes.
The plot was kind off cool and I liked the art but over all I enjoyed this manga but not enough to continue, which is fine.
I was a tad bit bored of this Warning the very first page is very very lwed straight up sex . Couldn't get into this series even if I wanted too rather finish re:zero much better series
It's definitely a slow paced fluffy isekai romance manga but the problem is it doesn't really engage you much to continue. Unless you don't mind the pacing and not a lot going on, it's definitely not going to be worth it like I'm the type who wants a lotta action. So unfortunately this ain't for me chief!
Well, this is certainly different, and interesting, too!
Things are off to a good start, at least it seems. However, I see storm clouds gathering on the horizon. There's definitely trouble coming, and in ways more than one. Tax irregularities, of all things? Looks like thee dear ol queen is being taken to the cleaners... and she can't quickly or easily put a stop to it. And now our man Zenjiro might have inadvertently opened a big can of worms, one that might cause great anger to some powerful people. Ah, the life in a royal court. I wouldn't take it for all the tea in China, or all the money in the world, for that matter. Everyone could be your downfall. There is no such thing as trust. You have to be suspicious of everyone, and keep your guard up at all times. Otherwise you may be the one next uttering "Et tu, Brutus?" Please tell me you know what that quote is from... anyways, I'm enjoying this tale so far. I intend to download the rest of the series tomorrow when I get up (it's beddy-by boz time again here). Art, very nice. The queen is absolutely stunning. I think any warm-blooded guy would love to have a gal like her. Dialogue, great. It fits well with the subject matter, feels very natural. Characters, interesting, likeable, and engaging.
Kind of just picked this up at my local Books A Million on premise alone. A guy named Zenjiro is teleported away one day to a kingdom in another world and is given the choice of marrying the beautiful Queen Aura to keep the royal bloodline going and in doing so he will never have to work and will live the "ideal sponger life".
At first glance I thought this was gonna be sort of an ecchi series along the lines of Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs or Monster Musume but I was presently surprised! (to clarify I do love both of those series a lot) What I got was an incredible Isekai (another world) story of political intrigue and cross-cultural understanding. Not to mention a really cute romance of a husband and wife slowly falling in the love with each other.
I can't recommend this enough to anyone who loves Isekai and "fish out of water" type of situational stories.
I didn't know what I was getting into as I didn't know this book is part of a well-known genre that really isn't quite targeting my demographic. It was a book about a guy who gets transported to a new world to just sit around and be used for sex and continuing the royal blood line. I thought it was going to focus more on the queen who seems very independent and strong willed but, I didn't realize that bolstering female independence isn't really the point of this genre. Maybe they do let her shine more in future books? Overall, not much interesting happened in the first book, and the writing was just mediocre, so I don't think I will continue to read the series.
Zenjiro is your average worker at a large company....living a life that pretty much goes like the famous commercials of my childhood for Dunkin Doughnuts that seems like one is living a mundane routine with no change. When he gets a chance to go to a new world and literally be a "Kept man", he jumps at the opportunity. I found myself really loving the story but I will say that I believe this title gives the appearance he is not a worker. I think he already has shown in this first volume he will be outworking a lot of characters in this story. Loads of fun.
I was pretty sure that I wouldn't like this one for the first two chapters. Ultimately the Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court vibe hooked me. Looking forward to seeing where this all goes as the rest of the queen's court adjust to this new steps in court politics.
