The sweet relationship at the core of the book continues to carry it, but there is a slow and gradual drop in my interest every volume as it becomes increasingly about very low-key court intrigue in a fairly generic fantasy world.
The story of Zenjiro and Aura becomes more interesting everyday💖 If the creators of the manga and the light novel series are thinking about making this into an anime I would love to know 🎉👍
I don't usually go for royal court settings, but I'm enjoying this...
As an American, I'm sure you all can understand why I am a bit...uncomfortable... with royalty (I believe we may have fought a war or two over it...), so I don't generally enjoy the pomp & circumstance, if you will. The media says Americans "adore" British royalty... who exactly are these traitors, & where can I find them? (In other words, "Who is your Daddy & what does he do?" LOL)... Anyway... Queen Aura is certainly wise & incredibly beautiful. Zenjiro is one lucky man. So far. Things are being alluded to that his life is not going to be so easy in this new world... he's already got the royalty of another kingdom up in arms. Ah, well, that's life. Sometimes it's great & sometimes... not so much... Zenjiro, I feel for you, brother!
Political intrigue is starting to play a major part in how the characters are moving forward. It is interesting to see the current culture class with that of another universe (which has a lot of aspects from the middle ages or even earlier). Tensions rise and political savvy are becoming more and more important. Another fun read.
