Big City Heat is a collection of 12 short stories that has something for just about anyone, no matter your favorite genre of romance. Some of the stories I loved and others were not really my cup of tea but still well written stories that others I think would truly enjoy. My personal favorites were The 57th Floor, A Hole and The Wolf of Wall Street. Any one of these stories I feel is well worth the 99 pennies and you might just find a new author you want to read more.
“Make Me Beg” is a part of “Big City Heat” and I loved it and it is the prequel to the next book “Make Me Trust: Bound to the Fixer”.
Reid Beckett, was taken in at a young age by mob boss Christy Moran the head of one of the largest crime families. Reid is known as the fixer, he does whatever he has to get the job done. Teagan Palmer is in deep financial trouble after the death of her dad, her mom is battling cancer, she drops out of medical school and takes on a job with criminal mob boss Christy Moran as a nurse.
Teagan is under a lot of pressure and she is not listening to Reid and she lands in trouble with another crime mob family and by her not listening to Reid she has put both mob families against each other.
Reid comes up with a plan to help Teagan out but she is not so eager to accept.
Even though this is a short read it kept me turning page after page rooting for both Reid. Will Teagan let Reid be her fixer and go for it? We will just have to hold off for a bit longer to read the next book in the in the series “Make Me Trust: Bound to the Fixer”. Hopefully the wait is not to long. Inquiring minds are on the edges of their seats.
I received “Big City Heat / Make Me Beg” ARC from the author Moni Boyce via Bookfunnel and I am voluntarily leaving my review.
I haven't had a chance to read the whole set yet, but I have loved what I have read so far.
A-Hole by Phoebe Alexander "If Paul were a crayon, he would be gray. A non-descript, completely neutral and unexceptional gray." Seriously, that line made me laugh out loud, and then I knew the rest of the book wouldn't disappoint.
I don't normally like such short little reads, but I have to say this one was a lot of fun. It's hard to impress with such a short window to do so, and it's definitely difficult to get the reader invested in the characters and story. With that said, I would say Alexander nailed it! This story was super cute and flirty, and the characters were fairly well developed considering the length. I think this series of shorts will be nice, light-hearted reads to just wet your appetite.
I really enjoyed all the stories in this anthology. A majority of the authors are new to me. I always love a story that gives a bit of angst mixed in with hot sex and an enduring love story. The authors brought their own, unique talents to tell their story in a way that grabbed my attention each and every time. A MUST read I feel. Take a cold or rainy day break and get this book. you will not be disappointed . A story for everyone. I received an Advanced Readers Copy in exchange for my honest review.
Lucy Eden- Wolf of Wall Street, Luis and Aurora was a great story from beginning to end. Luis meets the love of his life and can't believe it. He is all consuming and powerful but Aurora brings him to his knees. Will Luis get over himself and allow nature to take place?
Moni Boyce - Make me beg, Teagan and Reid have never been friends until a situation that threatens Teagan's life brings them together much to the horror of Teagan. Will Teagan trust Reid with her life and their future or will she forfeit all she has for pride?

Thank you @moniboyce for sharing this romance anthology. All opinions are my own.
Big City Heat contains twelve short stories. Some stand alone, some include characters from other series and a couple are prequels. The only author I was familiar with was Moni, but I really enjoyed being introduced to the other eleven and their own unique writing styles. The central theme is obviously romances that occur in high rises, but each and every story was vastly different and equally surprising. I loved the wide range of diverse characters: curvy girls, mafia, shape shifters, a raw vegan, interracial couples are just a few that you meet along the way. I was shocked to see how quickly the characters were adapted and a well formed story took place in such a short amount of time.
Moni’s story, Make Me Beg, was really good. It contained just the right mix of action, intensity, humor and one heck of a steamy male lead. It centers around Teagan who works as a feisty nurse for an Irish mafia family. She has caught the eye of Reid who just so happens to be the family’s merciless Fixer. This comes in quite handy when Teagan suddenly gets a hit put on her after an unfortunate event. The only way to truly protect her is to claim her as his own so Reid and Teagan .... get hitched!!
Thankfully it’s a prequel to Bound to the Fixer because I need more of this storyline!! The physical attraction is obviously there between Teagan and Reid, but I’m so ready to see them truly fall for one another. I want to learn more about the mysterious Reid as well. I’m also curious too see if Simonetti accepts this marriage as a true protection. I don’t trust uncle Quigley, but then again this is a mafia family so I’m sure many characters will be extra suspicious. I love the setting of a protective residence complete with a no questions asked butler and a cute pup named Spencer. I could easily see this turning into a series. Flynn might need his own story next!
I also really enjoyed The 57th Floor, A Hole and Global City Tryst.
Released today and available for just .99 on Amazon!!!!
"Big City Heat: A High-Rise Romance Anthology" is a wonderful collection of twelve stories. This set has something for everyone. This was the first time I'd read any work from the authors included in this set and I'm looking forward to reading more in the future. This collection includes: "The 57th Floor" by Hazel Storm "A Hole" by Phoebe Alexander "Asylum Club" by Aidy Award "44th & Blue" by Jodi Payne "Global City Tryst" by Maida Malby "Felling Bechet" by Stella Williams 'The Wolf of Wall Street" by Lucy Eden "Make Me Beg" by Moni Boyce "Courtney" by Jayce Ellis "The Glass Tower" by Emily Gray "The RIght Note" by Bree Kraemer
One of my favorites was: "A Hole" (Alpha Bet Guys Book 1) by Phoebe Alexander is a great read. I enjoyed Ace and Ella's story. This is a great start to this series. This story is full of passion, humor, close friends, and more. This was my first time reading this author's work and I'll be reading more. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next in this series. Highly recommend to all fans of romance, humor, and series.
This is a great collection of 12 novellas by some truly talented authors. Each of these authors does a really good job in drawing you into these characters in a short time, quite a feat for a novella in general, much less 12 of them all in one. The stories pull you in and invest you into the characters, into their lives, with some steam, some high rises, and some dramatic turns. These stories make you laugh, cry, and fall in love with all of them. I love how each of these stories were so unique, but they all had the general theme in the big city.
I love that this anthology introduced me to some new authors as well, all of these authors are definitely worth checking out more of. It's really hard for me to pick out a favorite one, I keep wanting to list a story as my favorite, but the truth is they all were.
The 57th Floor by Hazel Storm though makes me excited to go read the rest of the continuing series with it. While this story is a matchmaker business story, there's stuff here you don't see coming necessarily, and it makes me wonder how this all ties into the future of the series, making the reader anticipate what is to come.
I liked this paranormal story a lot. Lonely hero who doesn't suffer fools or inefficiency gladly, meets a heroine that can more than handle what he's dishing. He ran hot and cold because he thought no one would want him. He was very wrong!
Make Me Beg by Moni Boyce 4.5 Stars
A nurse for the mafia has to find a way to keep her mafia patients alive and herself! She wars with her inner self and loathes the attraction she holds for one member of the family. When it hits the fan, he's there for her though she's not sure if she wants to pay the price he's asking. This story is a prequel and the continuing (full) story will be released one of these days.
A Change of Plans by PE Kavanagh 4 Stars
A younger man long in love with a slightly older woman gets his shot to show her he's man enough for her but it's quickly derailed by a phone call.
Felling Bechet by Stella Williams 2 Stars
The behavior of both the H/h was off-putting. When the H who is getting to know the h gets upset when she doesn't act the way he wants he does the right thing and takes her home but refuses to walk her to her door to see her safely inside her building. It was extremely unchivalrous and petty plus they had no chemistry.
This anthology is 12 novellas by 12 different authors. A wide variety of stories so it's not boring or the same story over and over. My favorite is definitely A Hole by Phoebe Alexander. It's a fun and sweet with heat! I couldn't get enough of these new characters and can't wait to read all their friends stories to come!
This is a great collection of short stories. Contemporary romance in a city setting, there is literally something for everyone in here. Sweet, cute, steamy, paranormal. Fun and enjoyable to read.
This anthology has a little bit of everything surrounding the main theme - big city skyscrapers. I liked how each author took a different spin and gave you something different each time. Most of the authors were new to me and I really enjoyed their stories. A favorite in the collection was A Hole from Phoebe Alexander. A comic that bets a woman that he can make her laugh? A woman that isn’t sure that she won’t become the punchline? Mix in a bunch of friends that think they are doing what is best and it’s a recipe for a great story!
In Moni Boyce's Make Me Beg, Teagan works for the Irish mob at an illegal makeshift hospital in a Manhattan penthouse. Reid Beckett works for the Moran family and has wanted Teagan for his own for some time. He embodies everything he hates, even though she finds herself attracted to him. When she is attacked on her way home from work by the nephew of the head of an Italian mob gamily, Reid protects her by pretending to be her boyfriend. When that doesn't satisfy the mob boss, Reid marries her. This is a delightfully dark story, and I am very much looking forward to Book 2, where I hope their HEA lies.
In One Night With A Knight by Aidy Award, Camila gets talked into going out with her friends, who are meeting up with a group of guys at a bar. Hudson, a professional football player and her high school boyfriend is one of those guys. He is a ladies' man, and she doesn't take him seriously when tries to tell her she's the one who got away. They end up having a one-night stand, but while she thinks that is all it is, he wants her back. She works as a waitress at the new BDSM club, Asylum, where he is a member. She's curious, but hesitant. Hudson wants her as his sub. He fell in love with her again when he saw her at the bar, and she finally realizes she's loved him all this time. It's all tied up nicely in the end with an HEA. Camila is a curvy plus-size girl, which is Aidy Award's signature. It is a wonderful story , just as I'd expect from Ms. Award.
I received a free preview copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Excellent box set. I really enjoyed these different stories and that there were many authors that contributed. I had three top favorites, One Night With A Knight by Aidy Award, 44th & Blue by Jodi Payne and Courtney by Jayce Ellis. The first book because I enjoy a curvy woman finding her true love, and the second two because I drool for MM romance.
In One Night With A Knight, I love that the story is about a plus sized woman Camila, who is a cook and she meets her love from high school again as an adult. Hudson never got over his first love and with a chance meeting with her again at a club, he will not let her go this time. The story shows Camila struggling at a one point with someone calling her big and how her man came to her defense, my heart broke for her but Hudson was there and is all for the curve!
44th & Blue, After meeting Ben, Cole wants nobody else, he can’t stop thinking about Ben. Ben feels the same way but when Ben moves to his new office and realizes Cole is the one working on the offices, he is terrified of mixing business with pleasure. At one point my heart fell thinking Ben was about to be a big jerk and leave Cole, but he bounced back with a nice apology and finally toughened up and realized he wanted Cole in his life.
Courtney, It is so cute that both men in this book have “female names”. This one touched a little on how Courtney was away from his family for a long time because his dad could not accept that he was gay, showing that his dad finally came around. It is sweet that Tracey hasn’t full come to terms with his sexuality and a push from his brother’s boyfriend and the insistence of a date from Courtney opens that door wide open for him.
This review is for 'Make Me Beg' by Moni Boyce and The Wolf of Wall Street by Lucy Eden
MAKE ME BEG In my mind's eye I wasn't reading a book. I felt like I was watching a film noir with action right off the bat that had me captivated. Feisty heroine, check. Uber sexy, take charge hero, check. Engaging storyline and awesome characters, well we’re on to a winner.
Teagan had to offer her medical knowledge to the Irish mob after her father dies leaving her and her very ill mother with his gambling debts. It was a means to an end and the less time spent around them the better. She hated them and everything they stood for. So why did her body say otherwise when it came to mob enforcer Reid Beckett? I loved everything about Moni's contribution to this anthology. Her story ended on a cliff-hanger but I’m not sad about that. There is a whole lot more to tell and I can't wait. I received a free preview copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
THE WOLF of WALL STREET I adored this story. Luis was a wolf shifter and his new assistant Aurora, a human his fated mate. It was a modern day Beauty and the Beast with some highly erotic scenes thrown in for good measure - yes! The road to true love is never easy and these two were no exception. I'm glad they found their happy ending.

I have a soft spot in my heart for box sets, especially when they are to benefit a good cause like this one. Needless to say this will make the best little Holiday gift this year for several people on my list. I love when books of the same ideals are all grouped together and I can sit and divulge myself as much as I want without needing to search out each book.
Big City Heat has 12 wonderful authors featured with shorts that will blow you socks off and have you grabbing a tall glas of something on ice to cool down with. I have read previously a lot of these authors but also found some new gems to search out after this is done too, also a bonus of box sets. You often come away with more TBR’s in a short time span. (I know how everyone needs a longer TBR list lol.)
One of my favorite reads in this set was Phoebe Alexander’s A-Hole. It is a short and sweet as well as sassy and sexy read. It also gives us the platform for a new series I can’t wait to read as it comes from her. This book had me rolling with laughter as well as aching for some love and more. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the series brings.
Below I will list all the books included and their author. I highly recommend you snag this lovely set and devour it for yourself. There isn’t one bad book in the bunch!

Book Review: Big City Heat Anthology Authors: Hazel Storm, PE Kavanagh, Phoebe Alexander, Aidy Award, Jodi Payne, Maida Malby, Stella Williams, Lucy Eden, Moni Boyce, Jayce Ellis, Emily Gray, Bree Kraemer FIVE STARS This collection of 12 short stories, or novellas, by 12 amazing authors is an erotic cocktail. In these pages you will find a mix of billionaire, fake, curvy women, older men, interracial, LGBTQ, straight, office, mafia, and much, much, MUCH more. These stories are wonderfully written and so much fun. You can take this with you and just read straight through or skip around as all the stories are different. You won't get bored with this collection. The best part, a portion of the net proceeds goes to the Equal Justice Initiative. I also discovered through some research that the 3rd story in this anthology, Phoebe Alexander's "A Hole" is the first book in a series. The 2nd book is also out now and available. So much fun and the boys in this story are HOT HOT HOT. Ms. Alexander's heroines are always in their 30s 40s and/or sometimes older. They are curvy and proud of it. The writing is phenomenal and she has never left me disappointed in any of her stories. KLH.
This is a nice assortment of romances set against the backdrop of city living. There are a couple that missed the mark for me: I wasn’t a fan of “A Change of Plans” because the female protagonist starts out a bada&& and becomes a complete basket case. “The 57th Floor,” the first story in the collection, almost made me reluctant to read further, as I was put off by its premise that a dating algorithm is the only way to find love and that all millennial guys are worthless in bed, and only older ones will care about women’s pleasure (seriously— multiple characters in the book reiterate this point). While I wasn’t a fan of the blanket ageism and borderline invasive uses of technology in that story, however, there were a couple that I really loved: Jodi Payne’s “44th & Blue” is a fun story about a lawyer and a builder who move from hookup to couple, with some tension along the way, and Jaycee Ellis’s “Courtney” is a sweet addition to her High Rise series, and it’s great to get Tracey’s happily ever after. Overall, I’d give this story collection a solid 4/5 stars.

This is a really nice and interesting collection of stories for every taste and I enjoyed them all, but I admit I picked it up because Jodi Payne had one novella featuring and I couldn't give up reading it.
44th & Blue is centered around Ben and Cole who, for the past few months, have been meeting every Friday night for sex. Only names, no personal information, just a mutually beneficial agreement supposed to remain an anonymous hookup. But, one Monday morning, their professional lives clashed, because Cole was one of the contractors working on Ben's new office floor, and their reactions were diametrically opposed: Ben freaking out and Cole excited. They were absolutely delicious, two men in their 40s and acting like fumbling teenagers. I almost expected Cole to start the game of he wants me, he wants me not with a flower, he was that cute and insecure of Ben's feelings for him. I had so much fun watching them around each other: the teasing, the doubts, the undeniable desire... until they opened their hearts and realized they felt and wanted more. Their story made me smile and awe. Loved it!
Big City Heat: A High-Rise Romance Anthology (A Steamy Contemporary Romance Box Set) By Hazel Storm (Author), PE Kavanagh (Author), Phoebe Alexander (Author), Jodi Payne (Author), Stella Williams (Author), Lucy Eden (Author), Jayce Ellis (Author), Bree Kraemer (Author), Aidy Award (Author), Maida Malby (Author), Moni Boyce (Author), Emily Gray (Author) 5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading this anthology. The stories are romantic, steamy, and wonderful to read. Each one has amazing characters that I enjoyed reading about. They come from all different backgrounds. There are also secondary characters in the stories that I enjoyed reading about as well. I love anthologies as I get to read from a wide range of authors. Some I have read other stories by and there are also new authors that I am introduced to. All of the authors have created well-written stories that will have you hooked. I didn’t want to put them down. Don’t miss out on a box set of stories that are romantic and have the temperature in the room rising. I highly recommend this anthology.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, anthologies are a great way to discover new authors, so Big City Heat: A High-Rise Anthology definitely did that for me. Some of these authors I know, and some I didn't, but I will definitely be checking those new to me out with previous and/or future work. This anthology is filled with different stories which means there's something for everyone with the 12 novellas available. There are super sexy stories, super sweet stories, and super exciting stories, so pick your poison. It's a diverse collection with all different types of love because love is love at the end of the day, and each author penned an unique story. So as the world has gone mad with the plague (COVID) which keeps so many of us at home, take some time out to experience an anthology that provides a fantastic escape from reality by hitting those one click buttons! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
I am such a sucker for mobster romance books. Scratch that, I am honestly a sucker for almost all romance books. And this is the type of romance I needed during my reading slump.
Here we have Teagan, a strong willed woman doing what she must to make ends meet, isn't that us in everyday life? But how many of us can say we're working for the Moran family? The interesting aspect of working in relation to a mob family is thrilling, scary and intriguing all rolled into one. I really enjoyed Teagan's strength throughout the entire storyline, she held her own and worked at holding herself together.
Reid, on the other hand was powerful and held this all consuming energy. Reid, much like Teagan is strong willed and also very secretive. While Reid shows us he has a softer side, it made me want to know more about his past to fully understand his present self.
Learning that I would have to wait for the second book to continue Teagan and Reid's story was the best and worst news I could have received. Now I am not so patiently waiting to hear more about what the future holds for Teagan and Reid...where will their paths take them next?
This review is for The Wolf of Wall Street by Lucy Eden. It's a well written book with strong characters and an entertaining story line. The author does a great job building the story with detailed and descriptive scenes and moves the story quickly and fluidly. I enjoyed reading Aurora and Luis's story and reading with the dual POV. She builds the tension and brings tons of emotions as well as steam as they come together.
This is a great anthology filled with great characters and story lines by numerous authors. I enjoyed reading each of these books and would recommend this collection.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

This is a great collection of romance short stories by twelve amazing authors. Each book has their own style and you will find twelve completely different stories. They have one thing in common, they bring hot romance to a new level. There is something different in each story and something for anyone. I found some of my favorite authors as well as a few new authors. One of my favorite stories is called A Hole. This is a great story that pulled me in right from the beginning. The characters bring the story to life and are connectable. They made me laugh as well as their great chemistry. I highly recommend this book, I know you will find a few favorites like I did.
I liked most of the stories in this box set. The were engaging and entertaining. I thought some of them were extremely short and didn’t have enough to really get me interested in the couple.
The Wolf of Wall Street by Lucy Eden
This was one of the stories I enjoyed. The mysterious nature surrounding him gave him a dangerous vibe. I loved the paranormal aspect which was well written. I really enjoyed reading this book.
I requested a copy of this box set so I could provide an honest review.
This review is only for Lucy Eden’s The Wolf of Wall Street. This was such a cute story. The courtship of Aurora and Luis seems almost like if they were in Elementary/Middle School status and was very adorable to see how Luis tries to get her attention. This novel was entertaining and interesting, and was definitely enjoyable to read!
