A Dark Mafia Romance

Mom always told me that getting into a car with a stranger was dangerous. She was right.

I came to Spain hoping to start a new life away from dangerous men, but then I met Rafael Santiago. Now I'm not just caught up in the affairs of a mafia boss, I'm being forced into his car.

When I saw something I shouldn't have, Rafael took me captive, stripped me bare, and punished me until he felt certain I'd told him everything I knew about his organization... which was nothing at all. Then he offered me his protection in return for the right to use me as he pleases.

Now that I belong to him, his plans for me are more shameful than I could have ever imagined.

What is the 365 days of fifty shades did I just witness!!!Lord best have glitched my kindle and left out all the actual content of characterization.

Spoiler they love each other in the end...okay but like did they not read Romeo and Juliet?
So Savannah gets saved Rafael, but they don’t actually communicate.
Two week later at a cafe/music night thing they meet again and hook up.
Then she goes back to her place the next day.
A FEW days later she needs to make a deposit at a bank and on her way home, Rafael shoots up the people she was walking past on the street.
He takes her hostage cause he is like “um we crosses paths multiple times in such a short time frame, you must be liar”
Now you may wonder what he does with said “liar”.
Don’t worry I’ll tell ya.
Locks her up for a few minutes in a dark dungeon of his gothic historical house.
But then he goes down there and fucks her. And the. Realizes the cops are after him.
He then takes her to a safe house with him. So they’ve only been in this gothic house for maybe an hour at most. Then a car drive which probably wasn’t more than an hour.
So then at the safe house he works for a few hours and then tells her he loves her and she proclaims her love to him.

The entire book consists of him spanking her, then fucking her, accusing her, commanding her, and telling her that he has 2 personalities (the loving “fuck her in the ass” guy, and the mafia guy).

Soooooo... I’m hoping that the book glitched and there was actual character development.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Dark, a bit bloody with plenty of steam. Savannah (FMC) ends up in Spain to run her aunts art gallery but a chance meeting with Rafael and her life gets a little darker as well as more dangerous. With Savannah being stuck in the middle of a gang war. Savannah & Rafael spark/click pretty together pretty quickly but i kind of liked that they did. Even though they came from two very different worlds. If you take out the violence at the heart of this book is a steamy dom romance. Thats what i enjoyed reading the most if im honest but i dont mind my books a little darker too. A good read though

No depth

This was a story of sex and little action. Didn't really get into these characters. Nothing about them made me care if they were happy or sad . Most of this book was. Inner thoughts ..long inner thoughts, something I absolutely hate in a book. I skipped most of this book and was happy it was over.

"Dangerous Stranger" was a huge mess for me.... It took me a while to actually figure out what was going on and after that it was meh... I really liked the synopsis, it was promising but the execution not so much... Choices, choices, choices... I should have chosen a different book to read... Ooo well!

A Thrilling Ride! Outstanding Narration🎧

Dangerous Stranger
A Dark Mafia Romance
By: Piper Stone
Narrated by: Thomas Locklear

Wow, this book grabs your attention right from the start and captivates it the entire time. Piper Stone is a gift author, I enjoy her writing style and her ability to create dark and twisted stories that takes you out of your comfort zone and has you mesmerized by it. This book is a mafia romantic suspense, the characters are complex and well developed, as are the dynamics of the mafia world and family. The story is set in Galicia, Spain, the lead female Savannah Tyler is an American who needed to get away from her life from a while and agreed to run her Aunt’s Art Shop in Spain in her absence. Her arrival to Galicia does not go without incident, she was accosted but someone came to her rescue. She later finds out who that someone was and who the assailant was that approached her. Rafael Santiago is the son of the head of Galicia mafia, he is next in line to take over the family business. He has been trying to find out who is out for him and his family, sabotaging his family business in with appears to be a power play from a rival. But nobody messes with him or his family without repercussions and not all is what it appears to be. Savannah had captured his attention from the start but he knows he can not afford the distraction. He makes that decision after he enjoyed some time with her. But that is not the last he sees of her, circumstances bring them together again but not in a good way. I loved how everything played out in this book, the story is cleverly plotted and there is never a dull moment. There is plenty of drama, angst, twist and turns, thrilling suspense, heartfelt and emotional moments and some hot romance. Piper Stone, thank you for another great story and thrilling ride.

I listened to the Audible edition, Thomas Locklear is a versatile voice artist and his talent as a narrator truly shines in this book. He covers the roles for all the characters, giving each their own distinct voice and personalty. His vocal range is amazing, the voice he gave the lead female, Savannah, sounded like it was performed by a female, I had to double check to see if this was a duet narration and if he was working along side with a female narrator. In addition to that superb performance he played the perfect Rafael, a wonderfully accented deep voiced alpha boss, he was awesome with all the secondary characters too. He is an entertaining storyteller who projects the right tone, inflection and emotion in to his performance. Thank you for another awesome listen, it is always a pleasure to listen to your work.

WOW WOW WOW THIS IS ONE HOT HOT HOT READ!!!
Savannah and Rafael are amazing together. The chemistry and the connection is off the charts.
Rafael has saved Savannah more than once and he knows there is just something about this woman that he needs.
Rafael is the son of a mafia Don and because his older brother was killed, murdered he is now the son that is in the chair and he is after blood. He wants revenge. He has a plan but when he sees her again he knows that nothing is going to stop him from having her. She is feisty and she is not scared of giving as good as she gets. And their banter is electric but nothing is going to stop him from following her outside and showing her who is boss. When they kiss all cards are off the table. She is the only one who gets to see the venerable side of him, the soft side and that can never get out. But when they are together he sees a different future. But its just a dream. He needs to dominate her, he needs her to want him and no one else but he knows its dangerous.
But when he needs to save her once again she sees the real man behind his mask. But how will she react? will she be disguised or will she be there for him?
This is one hot read, their chemistry is electric. The passion they have for one another brings out the best in each other. But its the connection that just made my knees go weak. There is so much going on in their life's but together they are stronger. This book is brilliant I couldnt out it down. I just wanted more and more. but then again nothing surprises me when I'm reading a Piper Stone book. They always have me on the edge of my seat and my heart in my mouth. Another fantastic read!

Mixed feelings on this one. Really have mixed feelings on this one. I haven’t read a great deal from this author but I don think anyway mafia genre is her usual books. The story is about Rafael and Savannah, she was promised to a man she did not want nor did he want her so she was running and by doing so, had nearly been killed. Rafael had not known who the female was but seeing her running in the night being chased he had known that he had to step in and to do something to save her and the only choice had been to take out the murderer and there was simply nothing more that he could do to keep the girl safe. Rafael’s heart took a hit by the woman he had saved and when he had saw her next at the musical event, she had been attracted to his dark demeaner and he would enjoy every inch of her, allowing his darker sider free reign. Savannah been everything he had desired in a woman and he had enjoyed her for that night, now that his family had come under attack again he was convinced that she had been a plant and he was determined to discover the truth and little did she know, he had sadistic tendencies and once he let his freak fly, there was no forgetting about it. Savannah is in Spain to help her aunt run an art gallery while she's on holiday but she doesn’t even make it to her destination before she’s in grave danger. Raphael is the underboss of his family’s crime family—and a sadist (nothing I despise more). I do not enjoy reading about anyone who get’s off demeaning and/or savagely hurting another being just because he can. I couldn’t connect. Some things were left unanswered, and that also diminished my enjoyment.

Savannah has fled the United States and the unacceptable future she's been given. She can't go through with the life that is expected of her, so she takes he aunt up on her offer to run her Art Gallery while she's on vacation. Savannah has left the deepest anguish of her life behind, or so she thinks. Rafael Santiago is a beautiful, tender musician, the son of a mafia don and a brave man who rescues Savannah from a brutal attack. Savannah happened into the bistro where he was playing his flamencan guitar one evening and, while he strummed quietly, they began a conversation. Everything he said, she countered in a sassy voice with assertive comments and he wanted to get to know her better. There were sparks and sizzle, with a passion that grew quickly. Rafael lets her know who is in charge of her emotions and, at first, it troubles her. When he shows her what he's talking about, there's nothing in her mind but enjoyment. His family's business has been attacked and the word is out that they're coming for him. Taking her to a safehouse seems to be the right thing to do, but it opens up a part of his life he didn't want to revisit. The plot is well-defined and believable as the intra-family treachery ramps up and, at the same time, Savannah learns to take more responsibility for her safety and learn more about the man she's beginning to love. This story is non-stop action and the characters are beautifully drawn.
The narration is superbly done by James Loftin with distinct voices that spoke with emotion and personality. His Rafael had a smooth, deep Spanish accent that made him come alive, making it an entirely enjoyable experience.

My Review: What an amazing story, I loved it so much! Danger, sex, passion, betrayal, spankings and so much more! Rafael is a brutal man with an artist’s soul. He’s possessive and protective and wants to do right by his family. Savannah is sweet and a bit shattered from her tragic past. The chemistry between them ignites the pages and the love they find together begins to heal their broken hearts. I really enjoyed Rafael and Savannah’s story. I wanted to read more about their future and was disappointed in not getting an epilogue, but other than that it was wonderful. I highly recommend!

★ “The Santiago way” ★

—>>> Rafael has had tragedy shape the role he has no choice but to take as the head of the Santiago organization. His father was counting on him to step up as a leader. Until saving a gorgeous woman one night and then meeting said woman again when he was indulging in his other persona as a musician has him yearning for more from life. But women continuing to disappear off the streets and unforeseen threats and attacks on his business and family has him scrambling to get ahead and find the party responsible, so he has to put what he wants aside.

“Let her go. Forget about her. Do. Your. Job.”

Meeting her hero again in a bar, the beautiful Spanish man who had saved her on the dark streets about a week ago, turns out to be a delicious dream come true. There is definitely much more mystery to the man than she realized, but Savannah has her own secrets and demons back home and doing her aunt a big favor worked out perfectly for her situation. And that casts suspicion on her presence in town in the first place.

An engrossing story of a man torn between his loyalty for his family, doing the right thing, and the heart that he has already lost to Savannah, because she nurtures his real self, not just the man his family expects him to be.

Savannah had come to the point where a choice needed to be made. Regardless of which way she went, it would irrevocably change her life. That was when her Aunt called her and wanted her to come to Spain and stay in her house and run the art gallery while she was away with her current man. The mystery of why she left the U.S. is also what has brought fear and anxiety to her life. So when the taxi driver taking Savannah from the airport to her aunt's residence brings her into a rough end of town and drops her off, she's a bit terrified. True panic sets in when she realizes she's being followed and hears a knife scraping the brick building. Seemingly out of nowhere her rescuer came and ultimately killed her attacker as she watched. They had seen each other. Looked into each other's eyes before he calmly got back into his car and left. All that took place at the beginning of the book and it didn't slow down or let loose of me until the very end. So many secrets, lies, and betrayal. So many twists and turns on this emotional rollercoaster. So much heat, chemistry, and love within these pages. This was an extraordinary story that I whole-heartedly recommend.

She was a distraction he did not need but could not resist!
by sewsummore

Savannah had come to Spain to run her Aunt's Gallery while she was away on her honeymoon. It was a chance to get away from the painful memories she left behind. A chance meeting with a dark stranger made Savannah forget her troubles for a night. Rafael was tall, dark, and very sure of himself, but in the end, she succumbed to his attraction and went with him. What they had that night was a connection, one night of blissful pleasure, he introduced her to obedience, and stripping away her inhibitions. Rafael was a man who demanded respect; some feared him, a mafia kingpin's son. He did not live a simple life, the danger was his life, but for one night, he would have Savannah. This was a mafia story of forbidden attraction, Savannah was a distraction Rafael did not need, but he was helpless to resist. There were a complex element mystery and suspense woven through this story that kept me guessing until the very end.

Beware of dangerous strangers when on vacation in Spain....you never know who they really are

*** 3 1/2 Stars ***

After reading Dangerous Stranger I have some mixed feelings. I was really looking forward to reading this book as the book description promised to be a dark and sexual story to say the least. Plus add in the cover and wowser look out. This is definitely a very hot and sexy Mafia story about Savannah and Rafael with the backdrop of Galicia, Spain. There is a lot going on so the story for the most part is fast-paced. But for me there were things missing in the actual story part of the book. These are things that I would have liked to have been written about to add more context to the characters and situations. But there were a whole lot of heavy and dark sexual scenes, as Rafael definitely has a dark kink.
Overall I did like parts of the book but was a bit disappointed at the same time.

I received a copy of this book for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

I absolutely enjoyed reading this magnificent mafia romance that has good scene descriptions & world building. The plot is extremely interesting with suspenseful situations & events. The characters have quite complex personalities & one of them (Rafael) has a personal agenda with a determination to succeed while the other character (Savannah) is trying to come to terms with a sad loss.
There is: drama, intrigue, suspense, twists & turns, action, adventure, mafia syndicates, rivalry, family issues, secrets, deceit, betrayal, danger, threats, enemies, devious intentions, violence, conflict, violence, vengeful feelings, life-threatening incidents, suspicions, unscrupulous plans abduction, devastating memories, obsession, manipulations, emotional turmoil, defiance, domination/submission, spankings, insolence, discipline, discovery, realization, steamy scenes, love, contentment & a well-deserved, satisfying conclusion.

Ok my first read from the author and I love it.
A Mafia romance with all the darkness, intrigue, betrayal, violence and definitly lots of spankin hot steamy scenes.
Love the characters. Savannah definitly not a damsel in distress. Yes she's scared of Rafael and the dangerous in his world. But how she stay by his side with her sass on, that's sexy.
And Rafael being the Mafia Lord when his kingdom in turmoil of betrayal and war, I love him with all his intensity, dominance and weakness for his feeling toward Savannah.
My only problem is the fact of what happened to the traitor at the end?
What really happened to Savannah that make her run to Spain?
Why the author have the need not to say it all in explicit details, put word in it while everything seems happening in details in this book

Overall, I enjoy this book and definitly gonna read another book from this author

One heroine is running from one problem and stumbles into another. Our heroine rescues her, but will he turn out to be a problem of yet another sort?

This is a dark romance story with strong elements of D/S and punishment. The story is well written and rather action packed, with a busy plot that has lots of twists and turns along the way. The characters are also well developed and fit the story, as well as each other. The story is focused more on the developing relationship than the mafia elements, so keep that in mind when deciding if this one is for you. It certainly held my attention. We get a good amount of steamy scenes throughout. Overall, it was a very entertaining read, well worth the time.

Highly recommended.

This starts out with gripping suspense pulling you right in. The dual POV worked well with the attention to detail and depth of the background allowing you to feel like you were there. There were many twists and turns keeping you in suspense for what will happen next. There were plenty of passionate, dirty sex scenes that left me hot and anticipating the next. The dark hero worked well with the heroine and they both kept pushing each other to open their eyes to truly see what was happening. The surprise plot twist at the end worked well and I loved the character development throughout the story. This ends with an explosive HEA. This was my first Piper Stone book and I can’t wait to read my next one.

This was a story of betrayal, vengeance, and love. Raphael was such a good character the author was so good at describing him both physically and emotionally I could virtually see him and feel his pain. Savannah was his nemesis in more ways than one. She was portrayed as a strong woman who stood up to Raphael and submitted to him. What a connection. A very descriptive book of the people and places giving the reader the atmosphere during the read. Violence was present obviously with it being mafia but the lovemaking between Raphael and Savannah was off the scales and showed her another softer side to him. A great read which I recommend.

A Spanish Mafia story. Rafael Santiago taking over after his brother was murdered. Savannah comes to Spain to start a new life and work for her aunt's art gallery. Was their encounter planned in secret by a ruthless plot to take down Raphael? Who can he trust? Intrigue, suspense, devious characters, secrets, betrayals, plot twists, and erotic sex. That is what can be expected in any Piper Stone story. This surpasses any of her previous stories.
Anything that Thomas Locklear narrates is phenomenal. His abilities are amazing. He captures their vulnerability, dominance, from the sexy Spanish accent of Raphael, to the sultry voice of Savannah, he exudes perfection. I highly recommend this audio. I was gifted this audio and offered my honest review.

This book was dark and super hot.
Savannah is an American visiting Spain, and seems to have gotten herself way over her head. Savannah's first encounter in Spain is not a pleasant one, but a mysterious stranger comes to her rescue.
Rafael is a very dangerous man, but he seems to have affectionate feelings toward Savannah, but he has more on his plate with a man from Los Charlines named Callja.
This book is filled with vividly hot scenes, that include a bit of spanking. This story line had me gripped and would not let go until I finished it. Love this book.

At first when I started reading this book, I couldn't get into it. I found I was confused with what was happening and timeline didn't feel like it flowed right. But after the first few chapters I couldn't out the book down. There were so many different aspects to this story. Underlying and hidden enemies that you just had to follow along the path to discover the truth. The inner fight Rafael had with himself and his feelings for Savannah were full of sorrow. For a life he felt he couldn't have. As for Savannah, so showed so much hidden strength. She held her truths so close, she wouldn't allow herself to entertain the idea of this man in her life. Amazing mafia read.

As with all Piper Stones Mafia stories there is plenty of action, drama, suspense, surprises, secrets, danger, threats and all in all everything you expect from a Mafia story. This story catches you at the very beginning and keeps you reading till the very end. I loved the characters of Rafael and Savannah. Savannah is definitely scared of Rafael and the world he lives in but she's got sass and Rafael really loves that. He's a dominate alpha male who has a weakness for Savannah. It's always a great story when it's from Piper Stone. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was another enjoyable dark mafia romance from Ms Stone. It actually started a bit slow for me and it took me some time to get into it. But half way through I was glued to my reader and couldn’t read fast enough.
Savannah and Rafael had instant and explosive chemisty and their scenes were steamy hot! This author never fails to deliver with some seriously hot and dirty spanking spanking scenes!
The storyline was full of mafia action and suspense with some surprising twists. It was definitely a page turner and I can’t wait to read more from this author!

There are no coincidences!!!

Savannah ended up in another country after tragedy struck her family and her aunt asked for help at her gallery. Savannah got scammed from the moment she trusted the cabbie to take her to her correct destination. Thank goodness a Dangerous Stranger, Rafael, showed up in time to save her. Then the two of them just kept coincidentally ended up in the same places. But of course there are no coincidences and both Rafael and Savannah were played from the very beginning. By who? That is what this intriguing story is all about, who is behind the setup and why? This is a great read and I highly recommend it!

This dark mafia romance has double mysteries going on with bdsm twisted through. It’s deliciously dark and the erotica is tastefully done. Back stabbing, dominating men and oh so sexy accents makes this a inviting read for those who like their stories with spice. I love that the female lead was able to use some of her skills instead of seeming helpless all the time and seeing the softer side of the male character before love was proclaimed was also nice. Once again the narrator knocks my socks off with his versatility between men and women’s roles and holy heat how Spanish accent is smokin! Every story I hear him narrate just leaves me more in awe of his skill!

This was a good mafia book. It's well written with likeable characters. Good chemistry between them with plenty of naughtiness to heat up the pages. For some reason it wasn't one of my favorite books though and I couldn't stay focused all the time but that certainly doesn't make it a bad book at all. Just makes it not my most favorite and that's ok because I definitely would read more books by this author.

Savannah is from Charleston, South Carolina. She comes to Spain to help her aunt in her gallery because she needs to get away. Later we learn why she needed to leave. Rafael is the son of the Don. He inherited the seat when his older brother was killed. He doesn't really want to be in charge, but he must do what he can to keep his family safe. When Rafael meets Savannah, there is instant attraction. But, there is a lot going on behind the scenes before they can get their HEA.

Three and a half ⭐️
A dark Mafia romance. Savannah is in Spain to help her aunt run an art gallery while she's on holiday but she doesn’t even make it to her destination before she's in grave danger. Raphael is the underboss of his family's crime family—and a sadist. I didn’t quite connect with the characters in this one, and the first half moved slowly for me, although after that, the degree of tension increased & I enjoyed the story more. Some things were left unanswered, which diminished my enjoyment.

This is a dark romance that will have you turning the pages
I was pulled in right away to Savannah and Rafael’s story and both loved and hated Rafael. Rafael saves Savannah from a dangerous situation, yet when they meet up again Rafael shows Savannah a different side of him. The plot twists abound with Rafael trying to conquer the threat by the Los Charlines that will have you turning the pages to figure who is Alviro. Will Rafael overcome his doubts on Savannah and realize his life can include love? You have to read to find out and will not want to put this book down.

This story is a tad bit slower moving than most of the author’s other work, but it’s still brilliant and a sheer joy to read. There is some darkness to it which in mind is to be expected when writing a romance around the mafia. Plenty going on to ensure the reader remains engaged throughout the book. The main characters, Savannah and Rafael find themselves together and they have some steamy scenes. It’s a fantastic read, well worth the few hours it takes to read it.
