Join Vegas and her men in the last installment of the Red Masques series (A Paranormal Urban Fantasy RH). The Red Masques series is filled with fantasy, adventure, and a ton of steamy steam. Not to mention the substantial blood, violence, and swearing that we’ve come to love! Be ready for this fast-paced and exciting continuation with Vegas and her boys!

Once again, loved this book in the series.
It was sort of an “exhale” book. There wasn’t a massive war or anything to fight, it was small little things and more of a focus on their relationships.

There’s still a lot that is unfinished and yet to be seen.

There is apparently another series coming.

I would have liked it to wrap up a bit tidier, as a series, but it’s not the worst.

Spice was decent, a solid 3/5🌶️ and again the humour was good.

The end...for now.

Nice to know their saga will continue. I really love all the world building. I said in a previous review on this series that it feels like, as a reader, I arrived late to the party, since all the relationships and friendships had already formed. There are a lot of flashbacks but these are brief glimpses that only kinda help.

Also, Kodiak annoys me. I have no idea why either because the same actions from other characters in other books didn't garner this reaction. So, I don't get it but I literally cringe when he's on the page. It's bizarre since he is one of the main guys.

Speaking of main guys, some of them are little more than side characters even though they are part of the harem. I really wish more time had been given to Grover, Booker, and Cosimo. Even Rocket, Decimus, and Bandit seemed to struggle for time since it seemed like Blue and Kodiak were mostly on page, then Edwin...and Byron.

I might read the continuation of their story, but not sure since I struggled fo finish the last book thanks to Kodiak's growling, lol.

Its not the end, but the beginning of something new

I remember picking up book 1 last year, it was the authors's first book so my first time reading from her and i've been hooked since then.

What i love about this series is it that it takes all things i normally dislike in books and makes me love them. There's excessive amounts of blood, very crazy alpha males and a good love story that this book did not disappoint with.

The book starts of with Vegas waking up on Christmas morning with a big ole surprise, i think you can guess what that is! We're also introduced to the cutest wolf pups (actual wolves,) attend Gray's Christmas celebration (some blood spilled, people being threatened, someone's head gets bashed against a bar, gods i love Blue!) Then the trails starting next day. For the next couple of days we get someone cute flashbacks for the different guys pov, Kodiak does something he shouldn't and Bandit's situation gets addressed. Also sexy times a plenty.

I was so sad starting this book cause i didnt want to say goodbye to these characters. I adore Vegas and all 10 of the crazy assholes, some being more crazy then the others( I'm looking at you Blue, Edwin and Bandit, with Rocket sneaking in there as well!) I'm so happy that there's going to be another series! and glad this book's ending was so open ended.

Overall this is one of my favorite series and i cannot wait for Vegas and her boys new chapter.

Loved Dark King. Once I started, I didn’t want to stop until it was over. It’s always sad to see a series that you love come to an end, but with Dark King, you’re left knowing there’s more to come. It’s hard to explain how I really feel about the ending, but basically everything is wrapped up and had it had an epilogue, you’d be left fully satisfied. But there is no epilogue.. Instead you’re left with what I consider an open ended ending where if you want to be done with the series you can imagine what happens from there on and be happy moving on; however, if you’re devastated the series has come to an end, no worries because there will be a follow up series that’ll give you the exact story of what happens! So yeah, if I didn’t absolutely love the story of Vegas, I don’t really know how I’d feel about that ending. As I do love her story though, I’m happy to know there’s more to come.

About the actual story.. If you read Grey’s series, this book has the same feel as the last book in that series. It’s firstly more of a love story, following the growing relationships of Vegas and the guys, and secondarily is the wrapping up those little loose ends: remember the trials to becoming official Red Masques and Bandit’s mysterious tattoo? I loved (almost) every bit of it. Give me a biscuit so I can soak up all that gravy baby. Yummy yum yum great story! What didn’t I love? Well, honestly, Kodi lost my trust when he used his knowledge of something to make what he wanted to happen happen, and then he didn’t come clean about it AND the other guys who knew didn’t say anything either. And that upsets me. Relationships, especially one as complicated as one female with 10 men, run on trust and honesty. Other than that, I’m excited about what happened and what’s to come.

So go on and grab a copy of Dark King because whether you’re ready for the series to end or not, this book will give you what you’re looking for!!

I'm sorry but the other books were better...

I tried reading this series several times and didn't even finish book 1. However, I read the other series in this universe and came back to this. What a disappointment. Truly. First, the FMC is supposed to be the same age as her harem but is constantly treated as a child. I understand it's a big harem but for her to be a so called "leader" she remains ignorant of a lot. On top of that the loss of her bodily autonomy makes me very uncomfortable and doesn't make sense. She said she didn't want kids yet. Took steps to not have children. For one of her men to purposely take that away!!? Gross. The story would have been so much better if it was an accident made out of ignorance.
Another issue is the size of the harem. There are far too many men and it doesn't make sense. All of these men are possessive but get almost no time with her and are strictly hetero. There are several that could have been consolidated with no significant impact to the story. And then there is the sorceress role - why? The Queen almost never shows up, the FMC is supposed to have this amazing power that isn't used in any significant way past book 3. We're here at book five and I still didn't understand why it was a big deal.
This author usually has great stories but this is just not worth the time.

Loved it

This book closes the series, but feels like this story is just the beginning of a larger tale featuring Vegas and her men. I was happy to read that the author is writing another series featuring these same characters and continuing their story, because there's so much more to tell.

This book is kind of a bridge between the drama in book 4 and whatever happens in the future. It's the perfect set up to begin something new. And it still ties into the Vengeance series, which I also just finished, having read both books concurrently.

There's a lot of spicy times between Vegas and her men, plus a bunch of magical shenanigans and horrible attitudes toward humans with magical abilities versus fae folk and blatant misogyny, so there's a lot of work that needs to be done in this universe and thankfully the women in the remaining Horde Universe books are here to clean thing up.

I loved watching Vegas grow from a weaker character in the beginning to someone incredibly strong. Magic helped, but also having strong female friends as role models plus the support of her men seemed to boost her confidence. We can't always be strong on our own. Having a team helps.

Spoilers

It had a lot of good fun parts but I felt like the story could have ended after the last book so I was hopping for more fluff this book. The fact that they are all finally getting married and we didn’t even get to read their weddings was a huge let down. We also didn’t get an epilogue peek into their future to see their family (unless you count the dream which I don’t lol) also the fact that kodiak tried to get her pregnant when she had told them over and over she wasn’t ready was very upsetting. And then she didn’t even get upset over it. He way over stepped in a bad way not a cute possessive way. Waiting to have kids was one of the things she talked about the most and he didn’t respect that. There were great parts, the trials were fun but like I said, the plot seemed over after the last book so I was hoping for more fun stuff in this one. Which we got but I was still left bummed about the stuff we didn’t get to see.

Dark King (The Red Masques Book 5)

Dark King (The Red Masques Book 5)  THIS BOOK WAS INCREDIBLE !!!! After everything they all went through and the craziness of of war, FINALLY we get to  lovely to see Vegas getting to enjoy time with her men. From a proposal that was exactly what you’d expect from her men, to a little peanut being created, to Wolf pups joining to fold, and so much more.  Seeing everything come full circle and this family finally getting some time together as a family away from all the craziness made my heart happy.
What a ride! M.Sinclair is such a talented author and she has quickly become one of my favorites. I’ve read most of her books now and there hasn’t been one I haven’t absolutely loved....... Definitely recommend this book & series to EVERYONE who loves RH or is just getting into RH books!!! Now going to read book 6 to see how this gang was during their high school years!!!

Globally good

This book was good as well as the serie. I didn't finish it being super thrilled and mind blowing but I recognize that Vegas and her guys are very good characters. It's easy to remember all of them, they're very different but formed a cohesive group.
I liked the fact that for one time, the heroes aren't perfect and polished but more on thr dark side (of the force😂). They're cruel, ruthless, and insane but it made sense in a way.
I was expecting to read more about Bandit and his heritage but I guess it will be told it in the next serie "Raven" which was announced at the end of the book by the author...🧐
Globally, I found that the books were too long, that there wasn't enough action, suspense, and mystery for me but thankfully the main characters were very interesting.

Amazing series!

I loved this series! Badass females are my jam and Vegas is the definition of one!

I wont lie and say it wasnt a little hard to get my head around 10 men. Not because it didn't work or the characters didn't mesh because they did! It was just sometimes hard to remember who was who and what type of magic they had etc. Sometimes there were just too many to keep straight!

That being said I thought it was a great series and really liked how it intertwined with Grays story (Vengeance series).

Keep them coming! I want a big finale series where all the badass females and their army of men band together!!!

Having been dragged into the realm of Dark, Light and Horde through Gray and her men, reading this series was an obvious carry on. And Oh gosh!!! hands down to Vegas, who is all freaking woman!, for keeping her group of men happy, satisfied and a teensy bit crazy! But in having 10 guys to love on you can't really blame her, I'd go crazy too!

from book 1 your taken into the world of Vegas and her ravens, and shown how being a little bit crazy, and a whole lot of unhinged can be a heck of a lot of fun!
The conclusion (For Now!) leaves us with eager appetites for what comes next, and for the futures of the Dark and Light Fae, and the Horde!

Nope

DNF at 73% (Spoilers)
I was waiting to finish this book before I wrote a review, I really enjoyed the first 2 books, the dynamics between the characters were entertaining and sweet. As the storyline continued, I felt that the main storyline (the stalker) took forever to be resolved (it took 4 books for it come to a head but then ended within half a chapter.) Then in this book, one of the guys intentionally gets the MC pregnant on purpose after she specifically said she wanted to wait....that just really pissed me off. I know it’s just fiction but dang....a women gets to make decisions about her body on her own time. Not a fan.

Eurghh - cue the book hangover

So while it was my least favourite out of all 5 books it was still pretty epic. Whilst it is the technical end of this series I can’t wait to see how M Sinclair is going to bring them back and continue their story! I still have questions goddamn it. This book for me was a lot less about drama and angst and mostly memories with the guys and sex. I do like my story to have a bit more non-sexual content. It needed more substance. So it’s a bit of a shame and I actually think I’d have been happy it ending at 4 before being picked up in its new series. Mixed feelings about this one.

good

Vegas and her men’s story comes to an end with the trials they have to deal with, and a resolution to the questions regarding Bandit.

This book just ties up the remaining loose ends of Vegas’ story, with a lot of sexy scenes and some battles.
This is definitely not a standalone novel, so really only recommended for those who have read the rest of the series, and want the answers to those questions not yet answered.
The series is an enjoyable RH fantasy series, with an interesting world, and crazy characters. It can be a bit bloodthirsty at times, so I recommend it for those who like their tales a little on the dark side.

Team Vegas for life

This final book in the Red Masques series took me back to the first book I loved so much. The use of flashbacks to their time before the 'magic', the way these characters fit together like nothing I've ever seen before. I'm so happy that there will be a new series with these characters because I could never grow tired of Vegas and her amazing men. You can expect more of their possessive, alpha-male behaviour in this book. This was a great conclusion for this series, with an even better reason to read the next! I'm ready for it!

Amazing series. Loved it.

I absolutely loved this series and these crazy messed up characters. I wanted to cry when I though I was going to have to say good bye to Vegas and her men. So happy we’ll be getting a second series. Besides the characters being fun, sexy and crazy. I love how pure there love is even tho there so broken. This was an amazing series and I’m still a little sad that it’s officially ended. Vegas and her men and there love is just perfection and I can’t wait for more.

The end... or is it?

Vegas is my favorite character out of all of Sinclair's FMC. Maya a close second. There was so much to like and enjoy in this book. Loved how dark, vicious, and powerful Bandit got in this book. The pups were absolutely adorable. The surprise in the first chapter was great even tho we all knew it was coming. And poor Kodi with his "unreasonable " wolf lol. Over all I really enjoyed it and I can't wait to see what else M. Sinclair has instore for Vegas and her guys

This book was absolutely perfect! I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect ending (though I know more is coming).

After all of the intense craziness of of war, it was absolutely lovely to see Vegas get to enjoy time with her men. From a proposal that was exactly what you’d expect from her men, to a little peanut being created, to Wolf pups joining to fold, and so much more.

Seeing everything come full circle and this family finally getting some time together apart from all the madness made my heart soar. I just love this group so much!

I never wanted this book to end. I have become so attached to this family that I want to live in their world forever. There is just so much to love about this series. I am ecstatic that there is more coming from this group!

The title of this book promised so much, and the other books have been packed with action... and then this was one was just disappointing. It was mostly (pointless) flashbacks from everyone's perspective that didn't offer anything new insights to them or the relationships. Which was so frustrating because this was supposed to be about the Dark Kingdom and could have been really cool with showing how Vegas fulfilled her destiny to change the fae world and them all help rebuild the kingdo after the poisons king before.

Very disappointed.

decent ending

I feel like most of this book should have been in book 4 or I would have given it a 4. The climactic ending felt like it should have been the death of King Mario and I felt shafted for side characters.

I wanted more Lucinda and Gray. More characters were introduced and they were cool but barely mentioned. I wanted more interaction with the side characters.

Still a fun read and very steamy. I liked some of the flashbacks which gave us more insight to Vegas and the boys.

Yaas. So many answers. So much love! I have always loved the Red Masques series and I have enjoyed see Vegas and her guys grow so much closer through out the series. I love that we finally got some insight into all things Bandit. I also absolutely adore the banter between all these characters. I'm super excited that we will get to continue following Vegas on her journey with the Red Masques. I can only imagine what will come.

In general, I really liked this whole series.
Although, I feel not every book was a page-turner.
This book was nice, but again it was not a page-turner.
Nothing BIG happens to up the stakes. There was big happy news.
I still liked Vegas and her 10 guys ( although in general I really hate when RH are THAT big, just because i tend to forget who is who, and having all the POVS of the other guys)
And, luckily she will be writing a new series continuing the story- so i'm happy about that

Wow just Wow

I read Grey's story first, and I fell in love with them and their world; but I have to admit Vegas and her boys stole my soul. I cannot wait to read the next series! Please tell me where to find Tamara and Maizes' stories as well. This universe is fascinating and IMHO the author could spend the rest of her career writing about its people and their love. 5000 Stars!!!

Top 10 series for me!

Absolutely LOVED Vegas’s story and her 10 sexy men/psychos! Loved every single character and their interactions always amused me. At first I thought 10 was a bit much and that I’d get confused with all the POV’s but I actually enjoyed all their perspectives and personalities. I kept dreading the final book because I didn’t want it to end. I was hooked from book one, page one and quickly read all 5. Hands down one of my favorite RH series!

This book sets a slightly calmer pace than the previous one, with Vegas and her guys facing the trials to prove they are worthy of the Red Masks.

though not as suspensfull as the previous books, we finaly get a chance to see the guys take their powers for a spin. THere is plenty of revelations and external conflict to keep the story moving along at an enjoyable pace.

I would highly recomend this series and this Author

A solid 4.5

I finally finished this series and I was so sad that this was the end. I really loved Vegas and I’ll miss the guys some more than others. But I read that the author might be adding more books so I’m quite excited about that I can’t wait.

Only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star was because of something one of the guys did, was turn off for me. We have to respect decisions.

Wow

This series was absolutely amazing. I'm glad it's only the end for now...

I loved this world and these characters immensely amazing and it was beautiful. You are by far one of my top five authors.

This series is perfect if you love music and why choose and a sprinkle of just about everything.

I can't wait to see what their futures hold because things were definitely let unanswered.
